حَتَّىٰۤ إِذَا بَلَغَ بَیۡنَ ٱلسَّدَّیۡنِ وَجَدَ مِن دُونِهِمَا قَوۡمࣰا لَّا یَكَادُونَ یَفۡقَهُونَ قَوۡلࣰا ٩٣
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
Until, when he reached [a pass] between two mountains, he found beside them a people who could hardly understand [his] speech
Abdel Haleem:
then, when he reached a place between two mountain barriers, he found beside them a people who could barely understand him
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
Till, when he came between the two mountains, he found upon their hither side a folk that scarce could understand a saying
The Cave 18:94
Noun
قَالُوا۟ یَـٰذَا ٱلۡقَرۡنَیۡنِ إِنَّ یَأۡجُوجَ وَمَأۡجُوجَ مُفۡسِدُونَ فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِ فَهَلۡ نَجۡعَلُ لَكَ خَرۡجًا عَلَىٰۤ أَن تَجۡعَلَ بَیۡنَنَا وَبَیۡنَهُمۡ سَدࣰّا ٩٤
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
They said, "O Dhul-Qarnayn, indeed Gog and Magog are [great] corrupters in the land. So may we assign for you an expenditure that you might make between us and them a barrier?"
Abdel Haleem:
They said, ‘Dhu ’l-Qarnayn, Gog and Magog are ruining this land. Will you build a barrier between them and us if we pay you a tribute?’
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
They said: O Dhu'l-Qarneyn! Lo! Gog and Magog are spoiling the land. So may we pay thee tribute on condition that thou set a barrier between us and them
یَـٰۤأَیُّهَا ٱلَّذِینَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَقُولُوا۟ قَوۡلࣰا سَدِیدࣰاۙ ٧٠
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
O you who have believed, fear Allah and speak words of appropriate justice
Abdel Haleem:
Believers, be mindful of God, speak in a direct fashion and to good purpose
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
O ye who believe! Guard your duty to Allah, and speak words straight to the point
Ya Sin, Ya-Seen 36:9

وَجَعَلۡنَا مِنۢ بَیۡنِ أَیۡدِیهِمۡ سَدࣰّا وَمِنۡ خَلۡفِهِمۡ سَدࣰّا فَأَغۡشَیۡنَـٰهُمۡ فَهُمۡ لَا یُبۡصِرُونَ ٩
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
And We have put before them a barrier and behind them a barrier and covered them, so they do not see
Abdel Haleem:
and set barriers before and behind them, blocking their vision: they cannot see
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
And We have set a bar before them and a bar behind them, and (thus) have covered them so that they see not
Women 4:9
Noun
وَلۡیَخۡشَ ٱلَّذِینَ لَوۡ تَرَكُوا۟ مِنۡ خَلۡفِهِمۡ ذُرِّیَّةࣰ ضِعَـٰفًا خَافُوا۟ عَلَیۡهِمۡ فَلۡیَتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَلۡیَقُولُوا۟ قَوۡلࣰا سَدِیدًا ٩
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
And let those [executors and guardians] fear [injustice] as if they [themselves] had left weak offspring behind and feared for them. So let them fear Allah and speak words of appropriate justice
Abdel Haleem:
Let those who would fear for the future of their own helpless children, if they were to die, show the same concern [for orphans]; let them be mindful of God and speak out for justice
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
And let those fear (in their behaviour toward orphans) who if they left behind them weak offspring would be afraid for them. So let them mind their duty to Allah, and speak justly
