Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
And his Wife was standing, and she smiled. Then We gave her good tidings of Isaac and after Isaac, Jacob
Abdel Haleem:
His wife was standing [nearby] and laughed. We gave her good news of Isaac and, after him, of Jacob
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
And his wife, standing by laughed when We gave her good tidings (of the birth) of Isaac, and, after Isaac, of Jacob
The Believers 23:110
Verb
فَٱتَّخَذۡتُمُوهُمۡ سِخۡرِیًّا حَتَّىٰۤ أَنسَوۡكُمۡ ذِكۡرِی وَكُنتُم مِّنۡهُمۡ تَضۡحَكُونَ ١١٠
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
But you took them in mockery to the point that they made you forget My remembrance, and you used to laugh at them
Abdel Haleem:
But you kept on laughing at them: so intent were you on laughing at them that it made you forget My warning
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
But ye chose them for a laughing-stock until they caused you to forget remembrance of Me, while ye laughed at them
فَلَمَّا جَاۤءَهُم بِءَایَـٰتِنَاۤ إِذَا هُم مِّنۡهَا یَضۡحَكُونَ ٤٧
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
But when he brought them Our signs, at once they laughed at them
Abdel Haleem:
but when he presented Our signs to them, they laughed
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
But when he brought them Our tokens, behold! they laughed at them
The Star 53:43
Verb
وَأَنَّهُۥ هُوَ أَضۡحَكَ وَأَبۡكَىٰ ٤٣
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
And that it is He who makes [one] laugh and wee

that it is He who makes people laugh and weep

And that He it is who maketh laugh, and maketh weep
The Star 53:60
Verb
وَتَضۡحَكُونَ وَلَا تَبۡكُونَ ٦٠

And you laugh and do not wee

Why do you laugh instead of weeping

And laugh and not weep

Indeed, those who committed crimes used to laugh at those who believed

The wicked used to laugh at the believers––

Lo! the guilty used to laugh at those who believed
فَالْيَوْمَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مِنَ الْكُفَّارِ يَضْحَكُونَ
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
So Today those who believed are laughing at the disbelievers
Abdel Haleem:
so today the believers are laughing at the disbeliever
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
This day it is those who believe who have the laugh of disbelievers
Repentance 9:82
Verb
فَلۡیَضۡحَكُوا۟ قَلِیلࣰا وَلۡیَبۡكُوا۟ كَثِیرࣰا جَزَاۤءَۢ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ یَكۡسِبُونَ ٨٢
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
So let them laugh a little and [then] weep much as recompense for what they used to earn
Abdel Haleem:
Let them laugh a little; they will weep a lot in return for what they have done

Then let them laugh a little: they will weep much, as the reward of what they used to earn

فَتَبَسَّمَ ضَاحِكࣰا مِّن قَوۡلِهَا وَقَالَ رَبِّ أَوۡزِعۡنِیۤ أَنۡ أَشۡكُرَ نِعۡمَتَكَ ٱلَّتِیۤ أَنۡعَمۡتَ عَلَیَّ وَعَلَىٰ وَ ٰلِدَیَّ وَأَنۡ أَعۡمَلَ صَـٰلِحࣰا تَرۡضَىٰهُ وَأَدۡخِلۡنِی بِرَحۡمَتِكَ فِی عِبَادِكَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحِینَ ١٩
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
So [Solomon] smiled, amused at her speech, and said, "My Lord, enable me to be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents and to do righteousness of which You approve. And admit me by Your mercy into [the ranks of] Your righteous servants."
Abdel Haleem:
Solomon smiled broadly at her words and said, ‘Lord, inspire me to be thankful for the blessings You have granted me and my parents, and to do good deeds that please You; admit me by Your grace into the ranks of Your righteous servants.’
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
And (Solomon) smiled, laughing at her speech, and said: My Lord, arouse me to be thankful for Thy favour wherewith Thou hast favoured me and my parents, and to do good that shall be pleasing unto Thee, and include me in (the number of) Thy righteous slaves
