105
كَذَّبَتۡ قَوۡمُ نُوحٍ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِینَ ١٠٥
kadhabat qawmu nūḥin l-mur'salīn
The people of Noah, too, called the messengers liars
106
إِذۡ قَالَ لَهُمۡ أَخُوهُمۡ نُوحٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ ١٠٦
idh qāla lahum akhūhum nūḥun alā tattaqūn
Their brother Noah said to them, ‘Will you not be mindful of God
107
إِنِّی لَكُمۡ رَسُولٌ أَمِینࣱ ١٠٧
innī lakum rasūlun amīnu
I am a faithful messenger sent to you
108
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِیعُونِ ١٠٨
fa-ittaqū l-laha wa-aṭīʿūn
be mindful of God and obey me
109
وَمَاۤ أَسۡءَلُكُمۡ عَلَیۡهِ مِنۡ أَجۡرٍۖ إِنۡ أَجۡرِیَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَـٰلَمِینَ ١٠٩
wamā asalukum ʿalayhi min ajrin in ajriya illā ʿalā rabbi l-ʿālamīn
I ask no reward of you, for my only reward is with the Lord of the Worlds
110
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِیعُونِ ١١٠
fa-ittaqū l-laha wa-aṭīʿūn
be mindful of God and obey me.’
111
۞ قَالُوۤا۟ أَنُؤۡمِنُ لَكَ وَٱتَّبَعَكَ ٱلۡأَرۡذَلُونَ ١١١
qālū anu'minu laka wa-ittabaʿaka l-ardhalūn
They answered, ‘Why should we believe you when the worst sort of people follow you?’
112
قَالَ وَمَا عِلۡمِی بِمَا كَانُوا۟ یَعۡمَلُونَ ١١٢
qāla wamā ʿil'mī bimā kānū yaʿmalūn
He said, ‘What knowledge do I have of what they used to do
113
إِنۡ حِسَابُهُمۡ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّیۖ لَوۡ تَشۡعُرُونَ ١١٣
in ḥisābuhum illā ʿalā rabbī law tashʿurūn
It is for my Lord alone to bring them to account- if only you could see
