47
لَا فِیهَا غَوۡلࣱ وَلَا هُمۡ عَنۡهَا یُنزَفُونَ ٤٧
lā fīhā ghawlun walā hum ʿanhā yunzafūn
causing no headiness or intoxication
48
وَعِندَهُمۡ قَـٰصِرَ ٰتُ ٱلطَّرۡفِ عِینࣱ ٤٨
waʿindahum qāṣirātu l-ṭarfi ʿīnu
With them will be spouses- modest of gaze and beautiful of eye
49
كَأَنَّهُنَّ بَیۡضࣱ مَّكۡنُونࣱ ٤٩
ka-annahunna bayḍun maknūnu
like protected eggs
50
فَأَقۡبَلَ بَعۡضُهُمۡ عَلَىٰ بَعۡضࣲ یَتَسَاۤءَلُونَ ٥٠
fa-aqbala baʿḍuhum ʿalā baʿḍin yatasāalūn
They will turn to one another with questions
51
قَالَ قَاۤىِٕلࣱ مِّنۡهُمۡ إِنِّی كَانَ لِی قَرِینࣱ ٥١
qāla qāilun min'hum innī kāna lī qarīnu
one will say, ‘I had a close companion on eart
52
یَقُولُ أَءِنَّكَ لَمِنَ ٱلۡمُصَدِّقِینَ ٥٢
yaqūlu a-innaka lamina l-muṣadiqīn
who used to ask me, “Do you really believe tha
53
أَءِذَا مِتۡنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابࣰا وَعِظَـٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَدِینُونَ ٥٣
a-idhā mit'nā wakunnā turāban waʿiẓāman a-innā lamadīnūn
after we die and become dust and bone, we shall be brought for judgement?”’
54
قَالَ هَلۡ أَنتُم مُّطَّلِعُونَ ٥٤
qāla hal antum muṭṭaliʿūn
Then he will say, ‘Shall we look for him?’
55
فَٱطَّلَعَ فَرَءَاهُ فِی سَوَاۤءِ ٱلۡجَحِیمِ ٥٥
fa-iṭṭalaʿa faraāhu fī sawāi l-jaḥīm
He will look down and see him in the midst of the Fire
