40 أَمۡ تَسۡءَلُهُمۡ أَجۡرࣰا فَهُم مِّن مَّغۡرَمࣲ مُّثۡقَلُونَ ۝٤٠ am tasaluhum ajran fahum min maghramin muth'qalūn Do you [Prophet] demand a payment from them that would burden them with debt 41 أَمۡ عِندَهُمُ ٱلۡغَیۡبُ فَهُمۡ یَكۡتُبُونَ ۝٤١ am ʿindahumu l-ghaybu fahum yaktubūn Do they have [access to] the unseen? Could they write it down 42 أَمۡ یُرِیدُونَ كَیۡدࣰاۖ فَٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ هُمُ ٱلۡمَكِیدُونَ ۝٤٢ am yurīdūna kaydan fa-alladhīna kafarū humu l-makīdūn Do they think they can ensnare you? It is the disbelievers who have been ensnared 43 أَمۡ لَهُمۡ إِلَـٰهٌ غَیۡرُ ٱللَّهِۚ سُبۡحَـٰنَ ٱللَّهِ عَمَّا یُشۡرِكُونَ ۝٤٣ am lahum ilāhun ghayru l-lahi sub'ḥāna l-lahi ʿammā yush'rikūn Do they really have another god besides God? God is far above anything they set alongside Him
44 وَإِن یَرَوۡا۟ كِسۡفࣰا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَاۤءِ سَاقِطࣰا یَقُولُوا۟ سَحَابࣱ مَّرۡكُومࣱ ۝٤٤ wa-in yaraw kis'fan mina l-samāi sāqiṭan yaqūlū saḥābun markūmu Even if they saw a piece of heaven falling down on them, they would say, ‘Just a heap of clouds,’
45 فَذَرۡهُمۡ حَتَّىٰ یُلَـٰقُوا۟ یَوۡمَهُمُ ٱلَّذِی فِیهِ یُصۡعَقُونَ ۝٤٥ fadharhum ḥattā yulāqū yawmahumu alladhī fīhi yuṣ'ʿaqūn so leave them, Prophet, until they face the Day when they will be thunderstruck 46 یَوۡمَ لَا یُغۡنِی عَنۡهُمۡ كَیۡدُهُمۡ شَیۡءࣰا وَلَا هُمۡ یُنصَرُونَ ۝٤٦ yawma lā yugh'nī ʿanhum kayduhum shayan walā hum yunṣarūn the Day when their snares will be of no use to them, when they will get no help 47 وَإِنَّ لِلَّذِینَ ظَلَمُوا۟ عَذَابࣰا دُونَ ذَ ٰلِكَ وَلَـٰكِنَّ أَكۡثَرَهُمۡ لَا یَعۡلَمُونَ ۝٤٧ wa-inna lilladhīna ẓalamū ʿadhāban dūna dhālika walākinna aktharahum lā yaʿlamūn Another punishment awaits the evildoers, though most of them do not realize it 48 وَٱصۡبِرۡ لِحُكۡمِ رَبِّكَ فَإِنَّكَ بِأَعۡیُنِنَاۖ وَسَبِّحۡ بِحَمۡدِ رَبِّكَ حِینَ تَقُومُ ۝٤٨ wa-iṣ'bir liḥuk'mi rabbika fa-innaka bi-aʿyuninā wasabbiḥ biḥamdi rabbika ḥīna taqūm Wait patiently [Prophet] for your Lord’s judgement: you are under Our watchful eye. Celebrate the praise of your Lord when you rise
