Verse 6:104 in Context

100 وَجَعَلُوا۟ لِلَّهِ شُرَكَاۤءَ ٱلۡجِنَّ وَخَلَقَهُمۡۖ وَخَرَقُوا۟ لَهُۥ بَنِینَ وَبَنَـٰتِۭ بِغَیۡرِ عِلۡمࣲۚ سُبۡحَـٰنَهُۥ وَتَعَـٰلَىٰ عَمَّا یَصِفُونَ ۝١٠٠ wajaʿalū lillahi shurakāa l-jina wakhalaqahum wakharaqū lahu banīna wabanātin bighayri ʿil'min sub'ḥānahu wataʿālā ʿammā yaṣifūn Yet they made the jinn partners with God, though He created them, and without any true knowledge they attribute sons and daughters to Him. Glory be to Him! He is far higher than what they ascribe to Him 101 بَدِیعُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۖ أَنَّىٰ یَكُونُ لَهُۥ وَلَدࣱ وَلَمۡ تَكُن لَّهُۥ صَـٰحِبَةࣱۖ وَخَلَقَ كُلَّ شَیۡءࣲۖ وَهُوَ بِكُلِّ شَیۡءٍ عَلِیمࣱ ۝١٠١ badīʿu l-samāwāti wal-arḍi annā yakūnu lahu waladun walam takun lahu ṣāḥibatun wakhalaqa kulla shayin wahuwa bikulli shayin ʿalīmu the Creator of the heavens and earth! How could He have children when He has no spouse, when He created all things, and has full knowledge of all things 102 ذَ ٰلِكُمُ ٱللَّهُ رَبُّكُمۡۖ لَاۤ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَۖ خَـٰلِقُ كُلِّ شَیۡءࣲ فَٱعۡبُدُوهُۚ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَیۡءࣲ وَكِیلࣱ ۝١٠٢ dhālikumu l-lahu rabbukum lā ilāha illā huwa khāliqu kulli shayin fa-uʿ'budūhu wahuwa ʿalā kulli shayin wakīlu This is God, your Lord, there is no God but Him, the Creator of all things, so worship Him; He is in charge of everything 103 لَّا تُدۡرِكُهُ ٱلۡأَبۡصَـٰرُ وَهُوَ یُدۡرِكُ ٱلۡأَبۡصَـٰرَۖ وَهُوَ ٱللَّطِیفُ ٱلۡخَبِیرُ ۝١٠٣ lā tud'rikuhu l-abṣāru wahuwa yud'riku l-abṣāra wahuwa l-laṭīfu l-khabīr No vision can take Him in, but He takes in all vision. He is the All Subtle, the All Aware

104 قَدۡ جَاۤءَكُم بَصَاۤىِٕرُ مِن رَّبِّكُمۡۖ فَمَنۡ أَبۡصَرَ فَلِنَفۡسِهِۦۖ وَمَنۡ عَمِیَ فَعَلَیۡهَاۚ وَمَاۤ أَنَا۠ عَلَیۡكُم بِحَفِیظࣲ ۝١٠٤ qad jāakum baṣāiru min rabbikum faman abṣara falinafsihi waman ʿamiya faʿalayhā wamā anā ʿalaykum biḥafīẓi Now clear proof has come to you from your Lord: if anyone sees it, that will be to his advantage; if anyone is blind to it, that will be to his loss- [Say], ‘I am not your guardian.’

105 وَكَذَ ٰلِكَ نُصَرِّفُ ٱلۡءَایَـٰتِ وَلِیَقُولُوا۟ دَرَسۡتَ وَلِنُبَیِّنَهُۥ لِقَوۡمࣲ یَعۡلَمُونَ ۝١٠٥ wakadhālika nuṣarrifu l-āyāti waliyaqūlū darasta walinubayyinahu liqawmin yaʿlamūn This is how We explain Our revelations in various ways- though they will say, ‘You [Muhammad] have been studying’- to make them clear for those who know 106 ٱتَّبِعۡ مَاۤ أُوحِیَ إِلَیۡكَ مِن رَّبِّكَۖ لَاۤ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَۖ وَأَعۡرِضۡ عَنِ ٱلۡمُشۡرِكِینَ ۝١٠٦ ittabiʿ mā ūḥiya ilayka min rabbika lā ilāha illā huwa wa-aʿriḍ ʿani l-mush'rikīn Follow what has been revealed to you from your Lord, there is no God but Him. Turn away from those who join other gods with Him 107 وَلَوۡ شَاۤءَ ٱللَّهُ مَاۤ أَشۡرَكُوا۟ۗ وَمَا جَعَلۡنَـٰكَ عَلَیۡهِمۡ حَفِیظࣰاۖ وَمَاۤ أَنتَ عَلَیۡهِم بِوَكِیلࣲ ۝١٠٧ walaw shāa l-lahu mā ashrakū wamā jaʿalnāka ʿalayhim ḥafīẓan wamā anta ʿalayhim biwakīli If it had been God’s will, they would not have done so, but We have not made you their guardian, nor are you their keeper 108 وَلَا تَسُبُّوا۟ ٱلَّذِینَ یَدۡعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ فَیَسُبُّوا۟ ٱللَّهَ عَدۡوَۢا بِغَیۡرِ عِلۡمࣲۗ كَذَ ٰلِكَ زَیَّنَّا لِكُلِّ أُمَّةٍ عَمَلَهُمۡ ثُمَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِم مَّرۡجِعُهُمۡ فَیُنَبِّئُهُم بِمَا كَانُوا۟ یَعۡمَلُونَ ۝١٠٨ walā tasubbū alladhīna yadʿūna min dūni l-lahi fayasubbū l-laha ʿadwan bighayri ʿil'min kadhālika zayyannā likulli ummatin ʿamalahum thumma ilā rabbihim marjiʿuhum fayunabbi-uhum bimā kānū yaʿmalūn [Believers], do not revile those they call on beside God in case they, in their hostility and ignorance, revile God. To each community We make their own actions seem alluring, but in the end they will return to their Lord and He will inform them of all they did
