مَّا جَعَلَ ٱللَّهُ لِرَجُلࣲ مِّن قَلۡبَیۡنِ فِی جَوۡفِهِۦۚ وَمَا جَعَلَ أَزۡوَ ٰجَكُمُ ٱلَّـٰۤءِی تُظَـٰهِرُونَ مِنۡهُنَّ أُمَّهَـٰتِكُمۡۚ وَمَا جَعَلَ أَدۡعِیَاۤءَكُمۡ أَبۡنَاۤءَكُمۡۚ ذَ ٰلِكُمۡ قَوۡلُكُم بِأَفۡوَ ٰهِكُمۡۖ وَٱللَّهُ یَقُولُ ٱلۡحَقَّ وَهُوَ یَهۡدِی ٱلسَّبِیلَ ۝٤

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

Allah has not made for any man two hearts in his chest cavity, nor did he make your wives whom you subjected to Zihar, your mothers, nor did he make your adopted sons your (real) sons. That is (merely) a word uttered by your mouths. And Allah says the truth and He shows the (right) way

mā jaʿala l-lahu lirajulin min qalbayni fī jawfihi wamā jaʿala azwājakumu allāī tuẓāhirūna min'hunna ummahātikum wamā jaʿala adʿiyāakum abnāakum dhālikum qawlukum bi-afwāhikum wal-lahu yaqūlu l-ḥaqa wahuwa yahdī l-sabīl

33:5

ٱدۡعُوهُمۡ لِءَابَاۤىِٕهِمۡ هُوَ أَقۡسَطُ عِندَ ٱللَّهِۚ فَإِن لَّمۡ تَعۡلَمُوۤا۟ ءَابَاۤءَهُمۡ فَإِخۡوَ ٰنُكُمۡ فِی ٱلدِّینِ وَمَوَ ٰلِیكُمۡۚ وَلَیۡسَ عَلَیۡكُمۡ جُنَاحࣱ فِیمَاۤ أَخۡطَأۡتُم بِهِۦ وَلَـٰكِن مَّا تَعَمَّدَتۡ قُلُوبُكُمۡۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ غَفُورࣰا رَّحِیمًا ۝٥

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

Call them by (the name of) their (real) fathers; It is more equitable in the sight of Allah. And if you do not know their fathers, then they are your brothers in faith and your friends. There is no sin on you in the mistake you make, but in that which you do with intention of your heart; and Allah is Most-Forgiving, Very-Merciful

id'ʿūhum liābāihim huwa aqsaṭu ʿinda l-lahi fa-in lam taʿlamū ābāahum fa-ikh'wānukum fī l-dīni wamawālīkum walaysa ʿalaykum junāḥun fīmā akhṭatum bihi walākin mā taʿammadat qulūbukum wakāna l-lahu ghafūran raḥīma

33:6

ٱلنَّبِیُّ أَوۡلَىٰ بِٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِینَ مِنۡ أَنفُسِهِمۡۖ وَأَزۡوَ ٰجُهُۥۤ أُمَّهَـٰتُهُمۡۗ وَأُو۟لُوا۟ ٱلۡأَرۡحَامِ بَعۡضُهُمۡ أَوۡلَىٰ بِبَعۡضࣲ فِی كِتَـٰبِ ٱللَّهِ مِنَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِینَ وَٱلۡمُهَـٰجِرِینَ إِلَّاۤ أَن تَفۡعَلُوۤا۟ إِلَىٰۤ أَوۡلِیَاۤىِٕكُم مَّعۡرُوفࣰاۚ كَانَ ذَ ٰلِكَ فِی ٱلۡكِتَـٰبِ مَسۡطُورࣰا ۝٦

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

The Prophet is closer to the believers than their own selves, and his wives are their mothers; and those having mutual kinship are closer to one another (for the purpose of inheritance) than (other) believers and emigrants according to the Book of Allah, unless you do some good to your friends (by making a will in their favor). This had been written in the Book (the Preserved Tablet)

al-nabiyu awlā bil-mu'minīna min anfusihim wa-azwājuhu ummahātuhum wa-ulū l-arḥāmi baʿḍuhum awlā bibaʿḍin fī kitābi l-lahi mina l-mu'minīna wal-muhājirīna illā an tafʿalū ilā awliyāikum maʿrūfan kāna dhālika fī l-kitābi masṭūra

33:7

وَإِذۡ أَخَذۡنَا مِنَ ٱلنَّبِیِّـۧنَ مِیثَـٰقَهُمۡ وَمِنكَ وَمِن نُّوحࣲ وَإِبۡرَ ٰهِیمَ وَمُوسَىٰ وَعِیسَى ٱبۡنِ مَرۡیَمَۖ وَأَخَذۡنَا مِنۡهُم مِّیثَـٰقًا غَلِیظࣰا ۝٧

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

And (recall) when We took from the prophets their covenant, and from you and from NuH and Ibrahim and Musa and ‘Isa, the son of Maryam, and We did take from them a firm covenant

wa-idh akhadhnā mina l-nabiyīna mīthāqahum waminka wamin nūḥin wa-ib'rāhīma wamūsā waʿīsā ib'ni maryama wa-akhadhnā min'hum mīthāqan ghalīẓa

33:8

لِّیَسۡءَلَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِینَ عَن صِدۡقِهِمۡۚ وَأَعَدَّ لِلۡكَـٰفِرِینَ عَذَابًا أَلِیمࣰا ۝٨

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

so that He (Allah) may ask the truthful ones about their truth. And He has prepared a painful punishment for the disbelievers

liyasala l-ṣādiqīna ʿan ṣid'qihim wa-aʿadda lil'kāfirīna ʿadhāban alīma

33:9

یَـٰۤأَیُّهَا ٱلَّذِینَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱذۡكُرُوا۟ نِعۡمَةَ ٱللَّهِ عَلَیۡكُمۡ إِذۡ جَاۤءَتۡكُمۡ جُنُودࣱ فَأَرۡسَلۡنَا عَلَیۡهِمۡ رِیحࣰا وَجُنُودࣰا لَّمۡ تَرَوۡهَاۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ بَصِیرًا ۝٩

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

O you who believe, remember Allah‘s favor to you, when the forces (of the infidels) came upon you, and We sent upon them a wind, and the forces (of angels) you did not see. Allah is watchful of whatever you do

yāayyuhā alladhīna āmanū udh'kurū niʿ'mata l-lahi ʿalaykum idh jāatkum junūdun fa-arsalnā ʿalayhim rīḥan wajunūdan lam tarawhā wakāna l-lahu bimā taʿmalūna baṣīra

33:10

إِذۡ جَاۤءُوكُم مِّن فَوۡقِكُمۡ وَمِنۡ أَسۡفَلَ مِنكُمۡ وَإِذۡ زَاغَتِ ٱلۡأَبۡصَـٰرُ وَبَلَغَتِ ٱلۡقُلُوبُ ٱلۡحَنَاجِرَ وَتَظُنُّونَ بِٱللَّهِ ٱلظُّنُونَا۠ ۝١٠

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

(Recall) when they came upon you from above you and from below you, and when the eyes were distracted, and the hearts reached the throats, and you were thinking about Allah all sorts of thoughts

idh jāūkum min fawqikum wamin asfala minkum wa-idh zāghati l-abṣāru wabalaghati l-qulūbu l-ḥanājira wataẓunnūna bil-lahi l-ẓunūn

33:11

هُنَالِكَ ٱبۡتُلِیَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَ وَزُلۡزِلُوا۟ زِلۡزَالࣰا شَدِیدࣰا ۝١١

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

At that occasion, the believers were put to a trial and were shaken with a violent convulsion

hunālika ub'tuliya l-mu'minūna wazul'zilū zil'zālan shadīda

33:12

وَإِذۡ یَقُولُ ٱلۡمُنَـٰفِقُونَ وَٱلَّذِینَ فِی قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضࣱ مَّا وَعَدَنَا ٱللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُۥۤ إِلَّا غُرُورࣰا ۝١٢

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

(Remember) when the hypocrites and those having malady in their hearts were saying, .Allah and His messenger did not promise us but deceitfully

wa-idh yaqūlu l-munāfiqūna wa-alladhīna fī qulūbihim maraḍun mā waʿadanā l-lahu warasūluhu illā ghurūra

33:13

وَإِذۡ قَالَت طَّاۤىِٕفَةࣱ مِّنۡهُمۡ یَـٰۤأَهۡلَ یَثۡرِبَ لَا مُقَامَ لَكُمۡ فَٱرۡجِعُوا۟ۚ وَیَسۡتَءۡذِنُ فَرِیقࣱ مِّنۡهُمُ ٱلنَّبِیَّ یَقُولُونَ إِنَّ بُیُوتَنَا عَوۡرَةࣱ وَمَا هِیَ بِعَوۡرَةٍۖ إِن یُرِیدُونَ إِلَّا فِرَارࣰا ۝١٣

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

and when a group of them said, .O people of Yathrib (Madinah), there is no place for you to stay; so go back. And a group of them was seeking permission (to leave) from the prophet, saying, .In fact our homes are vulnerable,. while they were not vulnerable; they wanted nothing but to escape

wa-idh qālat ṭāifatun min'hum yāahla yathriba lā muqāma lakum fa-ir'jiʿū wayastadhinu farīqun min'humu l-nabiya yaqūlūna inna buyūtanā ʿawratun wamā hiya biʿawratin in yurīdūna illā firāra

33:14

وَلَوۡ دُخِلَتۡ عَلَیۡهِم مِّنۡ أَقۡطَارِهَا ثُمَّ سُىِٕلُوا۟ ٱلۡفِتۡنَةَ لَءَاتَوۡهَا وَمَا تَلَبَّثُوا۟ بِهَاۤ إِلَّا یَسِیرࣰا ۝١٤

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

And if it (Madinah) is entered (by the enemy, in their presence,) from all its sides and they are asked (to join) the mischief, they would readily commit it, and would not remain in them (their homes) but for a short whil

walaw dukhilat ʿalayhim min aqṭārihā thumma su-ilū l-fit'nata laātawhā wamā talabbathū bihā illā yasīra

33:15

وَلَقَدۡ كَانُوا۟ عَـٰهَدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مِن قَبۡلُ لَا یُوَلُّونَ ٱلۡأَدۡبَـٰرَۚ وَكَانَ عَهۡدُ ٱللَّهِ مَسۡءُولࣰا ۝١٥

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

despite that they had already made a covenant with Allah that they would not turn their backs; and a covenant with Allah has to be answered for

walaqad kānū ʿāhadū l-laha min qablu lā yuwallūna l-adbāra wakāna ʿahdu l-lahi masūla

33:16

قُل لَّن یَنفَعَكُمُ ٱلۡفِرَارُ إِن فَرَرۡتُم مِّنَ ٱلۡمَوۡتِ أَوِ ٱلۡقَتۡلِ وَإِذࣰا لَّا تُمَتَّعُونَ إِلَّا قَلِیلࣰا ۝١٦

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

Say, .Flight will never be of any use to you, if you flee from death or killing, and even then you will not be left to enjoy (life) but for a little while

qul lan yanfaʿakumu l-firāru in farartum mina l-mawti awi l-qatli wa-idhan lā tumattaʿūna illā qalīla

33:17

قُلۡ مَن ذَا ٱلَّذِی یَعۡصِمُكُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ إِنۡ أَرَادَ بِكُمۡ سُوۤءًا أَوۡ أَرَادَ بِكُمۡ رَحۡمَةࣰۚ وَلَا یَجِدُونَ لَهُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ وَلِیࣰّا وَلَا نَصِیرࣰا ۝١٧

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

Say, .Who is there to protect you from Allah, if He intends evil to you, or (who is there to prevent Him) if He intends mercy for you?. Beside Allah, they will not find for themselves either a friend or a helper

qul man dhā alladhī yaʿṣimukum mina l-lahi in arāda bikum sūan aw arāda bikum raḥmatan walā yajidūna lahum min dūni l-lahi waliyyan walā naṣīra

33:18

۞ قَدۡ یَعۡلَمُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلۡمُعَوِّقِینَ مِنكُمۡ وَٱلۡقَاۤىِٕلِینَ لِإِخۡوَ ٰنِهِمۡ هَلُمَّ إِلَیۡنَاۖ وَلَا یَأۡتُونَ ٱلۡبَأۡسَ إِلَّا قَلِیلًا ۝١٨

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

Allah does know the ones from among you who prevent (others from joining the battle) and those who say to their brothers, .Come along with us,. and who do not come to the battle but for a little while

qad yaʿlamu l-lahu l-muʿawiqīna minkum wal-qāilīna li-ikh'wānihim halumma ilaynā walā yatūna l-basa illā qalīla

33:19

أَشِحَّةً عَلَیۡكُمۡۖ فَإِذَا جَاۤءَ ٱلۡخَوۡفُ رَأَیۡتَهُمۡ یَنظُرُونَ إِلَیۡكَ تَدُورُ أَعۡیُنُهُمۡ كَٱلَّذِی یُغۡشَىٰ عَلَیۡهِ مِنَ ٱلۡمَوۡتِۖ فَإِذَا ذَهَبَ ٱلۡخَوۡفُ سَلَقُوكُم بِأَلۡسِنَةٍ حِدَادٍۙ أَشِحَّةً عَلَى ٱلۡخَیۡرِۚ أُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ لَمۡ یُؤۡمِنُوا۟ فَأَحۡبَطَ ٱللَّهُ أَعۡمَـٰلَهُمۡۚ وَكَانَ ذَ ٰلِكَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ یَسِیرࣰا ۝١٩

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

(and that too) with a greed against you (i.e. to extract a share of spoils from you). But when fear comes, you will see them looking towards you, rolling their eyes, like the one who gets faint because of death. Then once fear is gone, they assail you with sharp tongues, in greed for the good (i.e. the wealth acquired as spoils). These people did not accept faith (in real terms), therefore Allah has nullified their acts. All this is so easy for Allah

ashiḥḥatan ʿalaykum fa-idhā jāa l-khawfu ra-aytahum yanẓurūna ilayka tadūru aʿyunuhum ka-alladhī yugh'shā ʿalayhi mina l-mawti fa-idhā dhahaba l-khawfu salaqūkum bi-alsinatin ḥidādin ashiḥḥatan ʿalā l-khayri ulāika lam yu'minū fa-aḥbaṭa l-lahu aʿmālahum wakāna dhālika ʿalā l-lahi yasīra

33:20

یَحۡسَبُونَ ٱلۡأَحۡزَابَ لَمۡ یَذۡهَبُوا۟ۖ وَإِن یَأۡتِ ٱلۡأَحۡزَابُ یَوَدُّوا۟ لَوۡ أَنَّهُم بَادُونَ فِی ٱلۡأَعۡرَابِ یَسۡءَلُونَ عَنۡ أَنۢبَاۤىِٕكُمۡۖ وَلَوۡ كَانُوا۟ فِیكُم مَّا قَـٰتَلُوۤا۟ إِلَّا قَلِیلࣰا ۝٢٠

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

They think that the coalition forces have not (yet) gone. And should the coalition forces come (again), they would like to be living in countryside among the Bedouins, asking (others) about your news. And even if they were to remain among you, they would not fight, but a little

yaḥsabūna l-aḥzāba lam yadhhabū wa-in yati l-aḥzābu yawaddū law annahum bādūna fī l-aʿrābi yasalūna ʿan anbāikum walaw kānū fīkum mā qātalū illā qalīla

33:21

لَّقَدۡ كَانَ لَكُمۡ فِی رَسُولِ ٱللَّهِ أُسۡوَةٌ حَسَنَةࣱ لِّمَن كَانَ یَرۡجُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَٱلۡیَوۡمَ ٱلۡءَاخِرَ وَذَكَرَ ٱللَّهَ كَثِیرࣰا ۝٢١

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

There is indeed a good model for you in the Messenger of Allah - for the one who has hope in Allah and the Last Day, and remembers Allah profusely

laqad kāna lakum fī rasūli l-lahi us'watun ḥasanatun liman kāna yarjū l-laha wal-yawma l-ākhira wadhakara l-laha kathīra

33:22

وَلَمَّا رَءَا ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَ ٱلۡأَحۡزَابَ قَالُوا۟ هَـٰذَا مَا وَعَدَنَا ٱللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُۥ وَصَدَقَ ٱللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُۥۚ وَمَا زَادَهُمۡ إِلَّاۤ إِیمَـٰنࣰا وَتَسۡلِیمࣰا ۝٢٢

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

When the believers saw the coalition forces, they said, .This is what Allah and His messenger had promised to us, and Allah and His messenger had told the truth. It only improved them further in faith and submission

walammā raā l-mu'minūna l-aḥzāba qālū hādhā mā waʿadanā l-lahu warasūluhu waṣadaqa l-lahu warasūluhu wamā zādahum illā īmānan wataslīma

33:23

مِّنَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِینَ رِجَالࣱ صَدَقُوا۟ مَا عَـٰهَدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ عَلَیۡهِۖ فَمِنۡهُم مَّن قَضَىٰ نَحۡبَهُۥ وَمِنۡهُم مَّن یَنتَظِرُۖ وَمَا بَدَّلُوا۟ تَبۡدِیلࣰا ۝٢٣

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

Among the believers, there are men who came true to the covenant they had with Allah. So, some of them have fulfilled their vows (by sacrificing their lives in the way of Allah), and some of them are (still) waiting, and they did not change (their commitment) in the least

mina l-mu'minīna rijālun ṣadaqū mā ʿāhadū l-laha ʿalayhi famin'hum man qaḍā naḥbahu wamin'hum man yantaẓiru wamā baddalū tabdīla

33:24

لِّیَجۡزِیَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِینَ بِصِدۡقِهِمۡ وَیُعَذِّبَ ٱلۡمُنَـٰفِقِینَ إِن شَاۤءَ أَوۡ یَتُوبَ عَلَیۡهِمۡۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ غَفُورࣰا رَّحِیمࣰا ۝٢٤

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

(All this happened) so that Allah may give reward to the truthful ones for their truthfulness, and punish the hypocrites, if He so wills, or accept their repentance. Surely, Allah is Most-Forgiving, Very- Merciful

liyajziya l-lahu l-ṣādiqīna biṣid'qihim wayuʿadhiba l-munāfiqīna in shāa aw yatūba ʿalayhim inna l-laha kāna ghafūran raḥīma

33:25

وَرَدَّ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ بِغَیۡظِهِمۡ لَمۡ یَنَالُوا۟ خَیۡرࣰاۚ وَكَفَى ٱللَّهُ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِینَ ٱلۡقِتَالَۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ قَوِیًّا عَزِیزࣰا ۝٢٥

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

Allah has turned back the disbelievers with all their rage, having achieved no good; and Allah sufficed the believers against fighting. And Allah is Powerful, Mighty

waradda l-lahu alladhīna kafarū bighayẓihim lam yanālū khayran wakafā l-lahu l-mu'minīna l-qitāla wakāna l-lahu qawiyyan ʿazīza

33:26

وَأَنزَلَ ٱلَّذِینَ ظَـٰهَرُوهُم مِّنۡ أَهۡلِ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبِ مِن صَیَاصِیهِمۡ وَقَذَفَ فِی قُلُوبِهِمُ ٱلرُّعۡبَ فَرِیقࣰا تَقۡتُلُونَ وَتَأۡسِرُونَ فَرِیقࣰا ۝٢٦

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

He has brought those of the people of the Book (the Jews) who had backed them, down from their fortresses, and cast awe into their hearts, so as to make you kill some of them and take others as captives

wa-anzala alladhīna ẓāharūhum min ahli l-kitābi min ṣayāṣīhim waqadhafa fī qulūbihimu l-ruʿ'ba farīqan taqtulūna watasirūna farīqa

33:27

وَأَوۡرَثَكُمۡ أَرۡضَهُمۡ وَدِیَـٰرَهُمۡ وَأَمۡوَ ٰلَهُمۡ وَأَرۡضࣰا لَّمۡ تَطَءُوهَاۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَیۡءࣲ قَدِیرࣰا ۝٢٧

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

and He let you inherit their land and their homes and their wealth, and a land you have not trodden (so far) . And Allah is Powerful to do any thing

wa-awrathakum arḍahum wadiyārahum wa-amwālahum wa-arḍan lam taṭaūhā wakāna l-lahu ʿalā kulli shayin qadīra

33:28

یَـٰۤأَیُّهَا ٱلنَّبِیُّ قُل لِّأَزۡوَ ٰجِكَ إِن كُنتُنَّ تُرِدۡنَ ٱلۡحَیَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنۡیَا وَزِینَتَهَا فَتَعَالَیۡنَ أُمَتِّعۡكُنَّ وَأُسَرِّحۡكُنَّ سَرَاحࣰا جَمِیلࣰا ۝٢٨

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

O prophet, say to your wives, .If you intend (to have the pleasure of) worldly life and its charm, then come on, and I shall give you some stuff, and release you in a handsome fashion

yāayyuhā l-nabiyu qul li-azwājika in kuntunna turid'na l-ḥayata l-dun'yā wazīnatahā fataʿālayna umattiʿ'kunna wa-usarriḥ'kunna sarāḥan jamīla

33:29

وَإِن كُنتُنَّ تُرِدۡنَ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ وَٱلدَّارَ ٱلۡءَاخِرَةَ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ أَعَدَّ لِلۡمُحۡسِنَـٰتِ مِنكُنَّ أَجۡرًا عَظِیمࣰا ۝٢٩

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

but if you intend (to gain the pleasure of) Allah and His messenger and (the betterment of) the Hereafter, then, Allah has prepared a great reward for those of you who are good in their deeds

wa-in kuntunna turid'na l-laha warasūlahu wal-dāra l-ākhirata fa-inna l-laha aʿadda lil'muḥ'sināti minkunna ajran ʿaẓīma

33:30

یَـٰنِسَاۤءَ ٱلنَّبِیِّ مَن یَأۡتِ مِنكُنَّ بِفَـٰحِشَةࣲ مُّبَیِّنَةࣲ یُضَـٰعَفۡ لَهَا ٱلۡعَذَابُ ضِعۡفَیۡنِۚ وَكَانَ ذَ ٰلِكَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ یَسِیرࣰا ۝٣٠

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

O wives of the Prophet, whoever from among you will commit a clearly shameful act, the punishment will be doubled for her; and it is easy for Allah to do so

yānisāa l-nabiyi man yati minkunna bifāḥishatin mubayyinatin yuḍāʿaf lahā l-ʿadhābu ḍiʿ'fayni wakāna dhālika ʿalā l-lahi yasīra

33:31

۞ وَمَن یَقۡنُتۡ مِنكُنَّ لِلَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦ وَتَعۡمَلۡ صَـٰلِحࣰا نُّؤۡتِهَاۤ أَجۡرَهَا مَرَّتَیۡنِ وَأَعۡتَدۡنَا لَهَا رِزۡقࣰا كَرِیمࣰا ۝٣١

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

And whoever of you stays obedient to Allah and His messenger, and acts righteously, We shall give her twice her reward, and We have prepared for her a prestigious provision

waman yaqnut minkunna lillahi warasūlihi wataʿmal ṣāliḥan nu'tihā ajrahā marratayni wa-aʿtadnā lahā riz'qan karīma

33:32

یَـٰنِسَاۤءَ ٱلنَّبِیِّ لَسۡتُنَّ كَأَحَدࣲ مِّنَ ٱلنِّسَاۤءِۛ إِنِ ٱتَّقَیۡتُنَّۛ فَلَا تَخۡضَعۡنَ بِٱلۡقَوۡلِ فَیَطۡمَعَ ٱلَّذِی فِی قَلۡبِهِۦ مَرَضࣱ وَقُلۡنَ قَوۡلࣰا مَّعۡرُوفࣰا ۝٣٢

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

O wives of the prophet, you are not like any other women, if you observe taqwa (righteousness). So, do not be too soft in your speech, lest someone having disease in his heart should develop fancies (about you); and do speak with appropriate words

yānisāa l-nabiyi lastunna ka-aḥadin mina l-nisāi ini ittaqaytunna falā takhḍaʿna bil-qawli fayaṭmaʿa alladhī fī qalbihi maraḍun waqul'na qawlan maʿrūfa

33:33

وَقَرۡنَ فِی بُیُوتِكُنَّ وَلَا تَبَرَّجۡنَ تَبَرُّجَ ٱلۡجَـٰهِلِیَّةِ ٱلۡأُولَىٰۖ وَأَقِمۡنَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتِینَ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَأَطِعۡنَ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥۤۚ إِنَّمَا یُرِیدُ ٱللَّهُ لِیُذۡهِبَ عَنكُمُ ٱلرِّجۡسَ أَهۡلَ ٱلۡبَیۡتِ وَیُطَهِّرَكُمۡ تَطۡهِیرࣰا ۝٣٣

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

Remain in your homes, and do not display (your) beauty as it used to be displayed in the days of earlier ignorance; and establish Salah, and pay Zakah, and obey Allah and His messenger. Allah only intends to keep (all sorts of) filth away from you, O members of the family (of the prophet), and to make you pure through a perfect purification

waqarna fī buyūtikunna walā tabarrajna tabarruja l-jāhiliyati l-ūlā wa-aqim'na l-ṣalata waātīna l-zakata wa-aṭiʿ'na l-laha warasūlahu innamā yurīdu l-lahu liyudh'hiba ʿankumu l-rij'sa ahla l-bayti wayuṭahhirakum taṭhīra

33:34

وَٱذۡكُرۡنَ مَا یُتۡلَىٰ فِی بُیُوتِكُنَّ مِنۡ ءَایَـٰتِ ٱللَّهِ وَٱلۡحِكۡمَةِۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ لَطِیفًا خَبِیرًا ۝٣٤

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

And be mindful of Allah‘s verses and the wisdom that is recited in your homes. Surely, Allah is All-Kind, All-Aware

wa-udh'kur'na mā yut'lā fī buyūtikunna min āyāti l-lahi wal-ḥik'mati inna l-laha kāna laṭīfan khabīra

33:35

إِنَّ ٱلۡمُسۡلِمِینَ وَٱلۡمُسۡلِمَـٰتِ وَٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِینَ وَٱلۡمُؤۡمِنَـٰتِ وَٱلۡقَـٰنِتِینَ وَٱلۡقَـٰنِتَـٰتِ وَٱلصَّـٰدِقِینَ وَٱلصَّـٰدِقَـٰتِ وَٱلصَّـٰبِرِینَ وَٱلصَّـٰبِرَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡخَـٰشِعِینَ وَٱلۡخَـٰشِعَـٰتِ وَٱلۡمُتَصَدِّقِینَ وَٱلۡمُتَصَدِّقَـٰتِ وَٱلصَّـٰۤىِٕمِینَ وَٱلصَّـٰۤىِٕمَـٰتِ وَٱلۡحَـٰفِظِینَ فُرُوجَهُمۡ وَٱلۡحَـٰفِظَـٰتِ وَٱلذَّ ٰكِرِینَ ٱللَّهَ كَثِیرࣰا وَٱلذَّ ٰكِرَ ٰتِۙ أَعَدَّ ٱللَّهُ لَهُم مَّغۡفِرَةࣰ وَأَجۡرًا عَظِیمࣰا ۝٣٥

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

Surely, Muslim men and Muslim women, believing men and believing women, devout men and devout women, truthful men and truthful women, patient men and patient women, humble men and humble women, and the men who give Sadaqah (charity) and the women who give Sadaqah, and the men who fast and the women who fast, and the men who guard their private parts (against evil acts) and the women who guard (theirs), and the men who remember Allah much and the women who remember (Him) – for them, Allah has prepared forgiveness and a great reward

inna l-mus'limīna wal-mus'limāti wal-mu'minīna wal-mu'mināti wal-qānitīna wal-qānitāti wal-ṣādiqīna wal-ṣādiqāti wal-ṣābirīna wal-ṣābirāti wal-khāshiʿīna wal-khāshiʿāti wal-mutaṣadiqīna wal-mutaṣadiqāti wal-ṣāimīna wal-ṣāimāti wal-ḥāfiẓīna furūjahum wal-ḥāfiẓāti wal-dhākirīna l-laha kathīran wal-dhākirāti aʿadda l-lahu lahum maghfiratan wa-ajran ʿaẓīma

33:36

وَمَا كَانَ لِمُؤۡمِنࣲ وَلَا مُؤۡمِنَةٍ إِذَا قَضَى ٱللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُۥۤ أَمۡرًا أَن یَكُونَ لَهُمُ ٱلۡخِیَرَةُ مِنۡ أَمۡرِهِمۡۗ وَمَن یَعۡصِ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ فَقَدۡ ضَلَّ ضَلَـٰلࣰا مُّبِینࣰا ۝٣٦

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

It is not open for a believing man or a believing woman, once Allah and His messenger have decided a thing, that they should have a choice about their matter; and whoever disobeys Allah and His messenger, he indeed gets off the track, falling into an open error

wamā kāna limu'minin walā mu'minatin idhā qaḍā l-lahu warasūluhu amran an yakūna lahumu l-khiyaratu min amrihim waman yaʿṣi l-laha warasūlahu faqad ḍalla ḍalālan mubīna

33:37

وَإِذۡ تَقُولُ لِلَّذِیۤ أَنۡعَمَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَیۡهِ وَأَنۡعَمۡتَ عَلَیۡهِ أَمۡسِكۡ عَلَیۡكَ زَوۡجَكَ وَٱتَّقِ ٱللَّهَ وَتُخۡفِی فِی نَفۡسِكَ مَا ٱللَّهُ مُبۡدِیهِ وَتَخۡشَى ٱلنَّاسَ وَٱللَّهُ أَحَقُّ أَن تَخۡشَىٰهُۖ فَلَمَّا قَضَىٰ زَیۡدࣱ مِّنۡهَا وَطَرࣰا زَوَّجۡنَـٰكَهَا لِكَیۡ لَا یَكُونَ عَلَى ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِینَ حَرَجࣱ فِیۤ أَزۡوَ ٰجِ أَدۡعِیَاۤىِٕهِمۡ إِذَا قَضَوۡا۟ مِنۡهُنَّ وَطَرࣰاۚ وَكَانَ أَمۡرُ ٱللَّهِ مَفۡعُولࣰا ۝٣٧

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

(Remember) when you (O Prophet,) were saying to the one who was favored by Allah and favored by you. Keep your wife to your self, and fear Allah. And you were concealing in your heart what Allah was going to reveal, and you were fearing people, while Allah is more entitled to be feared by you. So, when Zaid finished his desire for her, We gave her into your marriage, so that there may not be a problem for the believers in marrying wives of their adopted sons, when they finish their desire for them; and Allah‘s decree had to be enforced

wa-idh taqūlu lilladhī anʿama l-lahu ʿalayhi wa-anʿamta ʿalayhi amsik ʿalayka zawjaka wa-ittaqi l-laha watukh'fī fī nafsika mā l-lahu mub'dīhi watakhshā l-nāsa wal-lahu aḥaqqu an takhshāhu falammā qaḍā zaydun min'hā waṭaran zawwajnākahā likay lā yakūna ʿalā l-mu'minīna ḥarajun fī azwāji adʿiyāihim idhā qaḍaw min'hunna waṭaran wakāna amru l-lahi mafʿūla

33:38

مَّا كَانَ عَلَى ٱلنَّبِیِّ مِنۡ حَرَجࣲ فِیمَا فَرَضَ ٱللَّهُ لَهُۥۖ سُنَّةَ ٱللَّهِ فِی ٱلَّذِینَ خَلَوۡا۟ مِن قَبۡلُۚ وَكَانَ أَمۡرُ ٱللَّهِ قَدَرࣰا مَّقۡدُورًا ۝٣٨

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

There is no problem for the prophet in (doing) what Allah has prescribed for him, a customary practice of Allah in the case of those who have gone before – and Allah‘s command is pre-determined by destiny –

mā kāna ʿalā l-nabiyi min ḥarajin fīmā faraḍa l-lahu lahu sunnata l-lahi fī alladhīna khalaw min qablu wakāna amru l-lahi qadaran maqdūra

33:39

ٱلَّذِینَ یُبَلِّغُونَ رِسَـٰلَـٰتِ ٱللَّهِ وَیَخۡشَوۡنَهُۥ وَلَا یَخۡشَوۡنَ أَحَدًا إِلَّا ٱللَّهَۗ وَكَفَىٰ بِٱللَّهِ حَسِیبࣰا ۝٣٩

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

those who convey the messages of Allah and have awe of Him, and have no awe of anyone except Allah. Allah is sufficient to take account (of everyone)

alladhīna yuballighūna risālāti l-lahi wayakhshawnahu walā yakhshawna aḥadan illā l-laha wakafā bil-lahi ḥasība

33:40

مَّا كَانَ مُحَمَّدٌ أَبَاۤ أَحَدࣲ مِّن رِّجَالِكُمۡ وَلَـٰكِن رَّسُولَ ٱللَّهِ وَخَاتَمَ ٱلنَّبِیِّـۧنَۗ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ بِكُلِّ شَیۡءٍ عَلِیمࣰا ۝٤٠

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

MuHammad is not a father of any of your men, but he is a messenger of Allah and the last of the prophets. And Allah has the Knowledge of every thing

mā kāna muḥammadun abā aḥadin min rijālikum walākin rasūla l-lahi wakhātama l-nabiyīna wakāna l-lahu bikulli shayin ʿalīma

33:41

یَـٰۤأَیُّهَا ٱلَّذِینَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱذۡكُرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ ذِكۡرࣰا كَثِیرࣰا ۝٤١

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

O you who believe, remember Allah abundantly

yāayyuhā alladhīna āmanū udh'kurū l-laha dhik'ran kathīra

33:42

وَسَبِّحُوهُ بُكۡرَةࣰ وَأَصِیلًا ۝٤٢

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

and proclaim His purity at morn and eve

wasabbiḥūhu buk'ratan wa-aṣīla

33:43

هُوَ ٱلَّذِی یُصَلِّی عَلَیۡكُمۡ وَمَلَـٰۤىِٕكَتُهُۥ لِیُخۡرِجَكُم مِّنَ ٱلظُّلُمَـٰتِ إِلَى ٱلنُّورِۚ وَكَانَ بِٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِینَ رَحِیمࣰا ۝٤٣

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

He is such that He and His angels send blessings to you, so that He brings you out from all sorts of darkness into Light; and He is Very-Merciful to the believers

huwa alladhī yuṣallī ʿalaykum wamalāikatuhu liyukh'rijakum mina l-ẓulumāti ilā l-nūri wakāna bil-mu'minīna raḥīma

33:44

تَحِیَّتُهُمۡ یَوۡمَ یَلۡقَوۡنَهُۥ سَلَـٰمࣱۚ وَأَعَدَّ لَهُمۡ أَجۡرࣰا كَرِیمࣰا ۝٤٤

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

Their greeting, on the Day when they will meet Him, will be, .Salam . . And He has prepared for them a noble reward

taḥiyyatuhum yawma yalqawnahu salāmun wa-aʿadda lahum ajran karīma

33:45

یَـٰۤأَیُّهَا ٱلنَّبِیُّ إِنَّاۤ أَرۡسَلۡنَـٰكَ شَـٰهِدࣰا وَمُبَشِّرࣰا وَنَذِیرࣰا ۝٤٥

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

O prophet, We have sent you as a witness and as a bearer of good news and a warner

yāayyuhā l-nabiyu innā arsalnāka shāhidan wamubashiran wanadhīra

33:46

وَدَاعِیًا إِلَى ٱللَّهِ بِإِذۡنِهِۦ وَسِرَاجࣰا مُّنِیرࣰا ۝٤٦

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

and as the one who calls (people) towards Allah with His permission, and as a luminous lamp

wadāʿiyan ilā l-lahi bi-idh'nihi wasirājan munīra

33:47

وَبَشِّرِ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِینَ بِأَنَّ لَهُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ فَضۡلࣰا كَبِیرࣰا ۝٤٧

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

So give good news to the believers that they are going to receive a huge bounty from Allah

wabashiri l-mu'minīna bi-anna lahum mina l-lahi faḍlan kabīra

33:48

وَلَا تُطِعِ ٱلۡكَـٰفِرِینَ وَٱلۡمُنَـٰفِقِینَ وَدَعۡ أَذَىٰهُمۡ وَتَوَكَّلۡ عَلَى ٱللَّهِۚ وَكَفَىٰ بِٱللَّهِ وَكِیلࣰا ۝٤٨

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

and do not obey the infidels and the hypocrites, and just ignore any hurt (that afflicts you) from them, and place your trust in Allah. Allah is sufficient (for you) to take care of all matters

walā tuṭiʿi l-kāfirīna wal-munāfiqīna wadaʿ adhāhum watawakkal ʿalā l-lahi wakafā bil-lahi wakīla

33:49

یَـٰۤأَیُّهَا ٱلَّذِینَ ءَامَنُوۤا۟ إِذَا نَكَحۡتُمُ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنَـٰتِ ثُمَّ طَلَّقۡتُمُوهُنَّ مِن قَبۡلِ أَن تَمَسُّوهُنَّ فَمَا لَكُمۡ عَلَیۡهِنَّ مِنۡ عِدَّةࣲ تَعۡتَدُّونَهَاۖ فَمَتِّعُوهُنَّ وَسَرِّحُوهُنَّ سَرَاحࣰا جَمِیلࣰا ۝٤٩

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

O you who believe, when you marry the believing women, and then divorce them before you have touched them, then they have no obligation of any ‘iddah (waiting period) for you that you may count. So give them (due) benefits, and release them in a pleasant manner

yāayyuhā alladhīna āmanū idhā nakaḥtumu l-mu'mināti thumma ṭallaqtumūhunna min qabli an tamassūhunna famā lakum ʿalayhinna min ʿiddatin taʿtaddūnahā famattiʿūhunna wasarriḥūhunna sarāḥan jamīla

33:50

یَـٰۤأَیُّهَا ٱلنَّبِیُّ إِنَّاۤ أَحۡلَلۡنَا لَكَ أَزۡوَ ٰجَكَ ٱلَّـٰتِیۤ ءَاتَیۡتَ أُجُورَهُنَّ وَمَا مَلَكَتۡ یَمِینُكَ مِمَّاۤ أَفَاۤءَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَیۡكَ وَبَنَاتِ عَمِّكَ وَبَنَاتِ عَمَّـٰتِكَ وَبَنَاتِ خَالِكَ وَبَنَاتِ خَـٰلَـٰتِكَ ٱلَّـٰتِی هَاجَرۡنَ مَعَكَ وَٱمۡرَأَةࣰ مُّؤۡمِنَةً إِن وَهَبَتۡ نَفۡسَهَا لِلنَّبِیِّ إِنۡ أَرَادَ ٱلنَّبِیُّ أَن یَسۡتَنكِحَهَا خَالِصَةࣰ لَّكَ مِن دُونِ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِینَۗ قَدۡ عَلِمۡنَا مَا فَرَضۡنَا عَلَیۡهِمۡ فِیۤ أَزۡوَ ٰجِهِمۡ وَمَا مَلَكَتۡ أَیۡمَـٰنُهُمۡ لِكَیۡلَا یَكُونَ عَلَیۡكَ حَرَجࣱۗ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ غَفُورࣰا رَّحِیمࣰا ۝٥٠

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

O prophet, We have made lawful for you all your wives whom you have given their dowers, and those (bondwomen) whom you own, out of the captives Allah has given to you as spoils of war, and daughters of your paternal uncle, and daughters of your paternal aunts, and daughters of your maternal uncle, and daughters of your maternal aunts, who have migrated with you, and a believing woman who offers herself for (marrying) the prophet without dower, if the prophet wishes to bring her into his marriage, these rules being exclusive for you, and not for the (rest of the) believers, — We know what We have prescribed for them in respect of their wives and the slave-girls they own — so that there should be no difficulty for you. Allah is Most-Forgiving, Very-Merciful

yāayyuhā l-nabiyu innā aḥlalnā laka azwājaka allātī ātayta ujūrahunna wamā malakat yamīnuka mimmā afāa l-lahu ʿalayka wabanāti ʿammika wabanāti ʿammātika wabanāti khālika wabanāti khālātika allātī hājarna maʿaka wa-im'ra-atan mu'minatan in wahabat nafsahā lilnnabiyyi in arāda l-nabiyu an yastankiḥahā khāliṣatan laka min dūni l-mu'minīna qad ʿalim'nā mā faraḍnā ʿalayhim fī azwājihim wamā malakat aymānuhum likaylā yakūna ʿalayka ḥarajun wakāna l-lahu ghafūran raḥīma

33:51

۞ تُرۡجِی مَن تَشَاۤءُ مِنۡهُنَّ وَتُءۡوِیۤ إِلَیۡكَ مَن تَشَاۤءُۖ وَمَنِ ٱبۡتَغَیۡتَ مِمَّنۡ عَزَلۡتَ فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَیۡكَۚ ذَ ٰلِكَ أَدۡنَىٰۤ أَن تَقَرَّ أَعۡیُنُهُنَّ وَلَا یَحۡزَنَّ وَیَرۡضَیۡنَ بِمَاۤ ءَاتَیۡتَهُنَّ كُلُّهُنَّۚ وَٱللَّهُ یَعۡلَمُ مَا فِی قُلُوبِكُمۡۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ عَلِیمًا حَلِیمࣰا ۝٥١

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

You may postpone (the turn) of any one you wish from among them, and may accommodate with you any one you wish. And should you recall any one from those whom you kept aside, there is no blame on you. It is more likely, in this way, that their eyes will stay content, and they will not grieve, and all of them will be happy with whatever you give to them. Allah knows whatever lies in your hearts, and Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise

tur'jī man tashāu min'hunna watu'wī ilayka man tashāu wamani ib'taghayta mimman ʿazalta falā junāḥa ʿalayka dhālika adnā an taqarra aʿyunuhunna walā yaḥzanna wayarḍayna bimā ātaytahunna kulluhunna wal-lahu yaʿlamu mā fī qulūbikum wakāna l-lahu ʿalīman ḥalīma

33:52

لَّا یَحِلُّ لَكَ ٱلنِّسَاۤءُ مِنۢ بَعۡدُ وَلَاۤ أَن تَبَدَّلَ بِهِنَّ مِنۡ أَزۡوَ ٰجࣲ وَلَوۡ أَعۡجَبَكَ حُسۡنُهُنَّ إِلَّا مَا مَلَكَتۡ یَمِینُكَۗ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَیۡءࣲ رَّقِیبࣰا ۝٥٢

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

No women are lawful for you after this, nor is it lawful that you replace them (the present wives) with other wives, even though their goodness may attract you, except the bond-women you own. And Allah is watchful of every thing

lā yaḥillu laka l-nisāu min baʿdu walā an tabaddala bihinna min azwājin walaw aʿjabaka ḥus'nuhunna illā mā malakat yamīnuka wakāna l-lahu ʿalā kulli shayin raqība

33:53

یَـٰۤأَیُّهَا ٱلَّذِینَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تَدۡخُلُوا۟ بُیُوتَ ٱلنَّبِیِّ إِلَّاۤ أَن یُؤۡذَنَ لَكُمۡ إِلَىٰ طَعَامٍ غَیۡرَ نَـٰظِرِینَ إِنَىٰهُ وَلَـٰكِنۡ إِذَا دُعِیتُمۡ فَٱدۡخُلُوا۟ فَإِذَا طَعِمۡتُمۡ فَٱنتَشِرُوا۟ وَلَا مُسۡتَءۡنِسِینَ لِحَدِیثٍۚ إِنَّ ذَ ٰلِكُمۡ كَانَ یُؤۡذِی ٱلنَّبِیَّ فَیَسۡتَحۡیِۦ مِنكُمۡۖ وَٱللَّهُ لَا یَسۡتَحۡیِۦ مِنَ ٱلۡحَقِّۚ وَإِذَا سَأَلۡتُمُوهُنَّ مَتَـٰعࣰا فَسۡءَلُوهُنَّ مِن وَرَاۤءِ حِجَابࣲۚ ذَ ٰلِكُمۡ أَطۡهَرُ لِقُلُوبِكُمۡ وَقُلُوبِهِنَّۚ وَمَا كَانَ لَكُمۡ أَن تُؤۡذُوا۟ رَسُولَ ٱللَّهِ وَلَاۤ أَن تَنكِحُوۤا۟ أَزۡوَ ٰجَهُۥ مِنۢ بَعۡدِهِۦۤ أَبَدًاۚ إِنَّ ذَ ٰلِكُمۡ كَانَ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ عَظِیمًا ۝٥٣

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

O you who believe, do not enter the houses of the Prophet, unless you are permitted for a meal, not (so early as) to wait for its preparation. But when you are invited, go inside. Then, once you have had the meal, just disperse, and (do) not (sit for long) being keen for a chat. This (conduct of yours) hurts the Prophet, but he feels shy of (telling) you (about it), but Allah is not shy of the truth. And when you ask any thing from them (the blessed wives of the Prophet), ask them from behind a curtain. That is better for the purity of your hearts and their hearts. It is not allowed for you that you hurt Allah‘s Messenger, nor that you ever marry his wives after him. Indeed, it would be an enormity in the sight of Allah

yāayyuhā alladhīna āmanū lā tadkhulū buyūta l-nabiyi illā an yu'dhana lakum ilā ṭaʿāmin ghayra nāẓirīna ināhu walākin idhā duʿītum fa-ud'khulū fa-idhā ṭaʿim'tum fa-intashirū walā mus'tanisīna liḥadīthin inna dhālikum kāna yu'dhī l-nabiya fayastaḥyī minkum wal-lahu lā yastaḥyī mina l-ḥaqi wa-idhā sa-altumūhunna matāʿan fasalūhunna min warāi ḥijābin dhālikum aṭharu liqulūbikum waqulūbihinna wamā kāna lakum an tu'dhū rasūla l-lahi walā an tankiḥū azwājahu min baʿdihi abadan inna dhālikum kāna ʿinda l-lahi ʿaẓīma

33:54

إِن تُبۡدُوا۟ شَیۡءًا أَوۡ تُخۡفُوهُ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ بِكُلِّ شَیۡءٍ عَلِیمࣰا ۝٥٤

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

If you disclose any thing, or conceal it, Allah is All-Knowing about every thing

in tub'dū shayan aw tukh'fūhu fa-inna l-laha kāna bikulli shayin ʿalīma

33:55

لَّا جُنَاحَ عَلَیۡهِنَّ فِیۤ ءَابَاۤىِٕهِنَّ وَلَاۤ أَبۡنَاۤىِٕهِنَّ وَلَاۤ إِخۡوَ ٰنِهِنَّ وَلَاۤ أَبۡنَاۤءِ إِخۡوَ ٰنِهِنَّ وَلَاۤ أَبۡنَاۤءِ أَخَوَ ٰتِهِنَّ وَلَا نِسَاۤىِٕهِنَّ وَلَا مَا مَلَكَتۡ أَیۡمَـٰنُهُنَّۗ وَٱتَّقِینَ ٱللَّهَۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَیۡءࣲ شَهِیدًا ۝٥٥

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

There is no sin for them (the wives of the Prophet) in (appearing without Hijab before) their fathers, or their brothers, or the sons of their brothers, or the sons of their sisters, or their own (Muslim) women, or their slave-girls. And (O wives of the Prophet,) fear Allah. Surely, Allah is witness to every thing

lā junāḥa ʿalayhinna fī ābāihinna walā abnāihinna walā ikh'wānihinna walā abnāi ikh'wānihinna walā abnāi akhawātihinna walā nisāihinna walā mā malakat aymānuhunna wa-ittaqīna l-laha inna l-laha kāna ʿalā kulli shayin shahīda

33:56

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ وَمَلَـٰۤىِٕكَتَهُۥ یُصَلُّونَ عَلَى ٱلنَّبِیِّۚ یَـٰۤأَیُّهَا ٱلَّذِینَ ءَامَنُوا۟ صَلُّوا۟ عَلَیۡهِ وَسَلِّمُوا۟ تَسۡلِیمًا ۝٥٦

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

Surely, Allah and His angels send blessings to the Prophet. O you who believe, do pray Allah to bless him, and send your Salam (prayer for his being in peace) to him in abundance

inna l-laha wamalāikatahu yuṣallūna ʿalā l-nabiyi yāayyuhā alladhīna āmanū ṣallū ʿalayhi wasallimū taslīma

33:57

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِینَ یُؤۡذُونَ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ لَعَنَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ فِی ٱلدُّنۡیَا وَٱلۡءَاخِرَةِ وَأَعَدَّ لَهُمۡ عَذَابࣰا مُّهِینࣰا ۝٥٧

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

Surely, those who annoy Allah and His Messenger are cursed by Allah in this world and in the Hereafter, and He has prepared for them a humiliating punishment

inna alladhīna yu'dhūna l-laha warasūlahu laʿanahumu l-lahu fī l-dun'yā wal-ākhirati wa-aʿadda lahum ʿadhāban muhīna

33:58

وَٱلَّذِینَ یُؤۡذُونَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِینَ وَٱلۡمُؤۡمِنَـٰتِ بِغَیۡرِ مَا ٱكۡتَسَبُوا۟ فَقَدِ ٱحۡتَمَلُوا۟ بُهۡتَـٰنࣰا وَإِثۡمࣰا مُّبِینࣰا ۝٥٨

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

As for those who hurt believing men and believing women without their having done anything (wrong), they shall bear the burden of slander and a manifest sin

wa-alladhīna yu'dhūna l-mu'minīna wal-mu'mināti bighayri mā ik'tasabū faqadi iḥ'tamalū buh'tānan wa-ith'man mubīna

33:59

یَـٰۤأَیُّهَا ٱلنَّبِیُّ قُل لِّأَزۡوَ ٰجِكَ وَبَنَاتِكَ وَنِسَاۤءِ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِینَ یُدۡنِینَ عَلَیۡهِنَّ مِن جَلَـٰبِیبِهِنَّۚ ذَ ٰلِكَ أَدۡنَىٰۤ أَن یُعۡرَفۡنَ فَلَا یُؤۡذَیۡنَۗ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ غَفُورࣰا رَّحِیمࣰا ۝٥٩

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

O prophet, tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers that they should draw down their shawls over them. That will make it more likely that they are recognized, hence not teased. And Allah is Most-Forgiving, Very-Merciful

yāayyuhā l-nabiyu qul li-azwājika wabanātika wanisāi l-mu'minīna yud'nīna ʿalayhinna min jalābībihinna dhālika adnā an yuʿ'rafna falā yu'dhayna wakāna l-lahu ghafūran raḥīma

33:60

۞ لَّىِٕن لَّمۡ یَنتَهِ ٱلۡمُنَـٰفِقُونَ وَٱلَّذِینَ فِی قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضࣱ وَٱلۡمُرۡجِفُونَ فِی ٱلۡمَدِینَةِ لَنُغۡرِیَنَّكَ بِهِمۡ ثُمَّ لَا یُجَاوِرُونَكَ فِیهَاۤ إِلَّا قَلِیلࣰا ۝٦٠

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

If the hypocrites and those having malady in their hearts and the ones who spread rumors in Madinah do not stop (their evil deeds), We will certainly stir you up against them, then they shall no longer live in it as your neighbors, but for a little while

la-in lam yantahi l-munāfiqūna wa-alladhīna fī qulūbihim maraḍun wal-mur'jifūna fī l-madīnati lanugh'riyannaka bihim thumma lā yujāwirūnaka fīhā illā qalīla

33:61

مَّلۡعُونِینَۖ أَیۡنَمَا ثُقِفُوۤا۟ أُخِذُوا۟ وَقُتِّلُوا۟ تَقۡتِیلࣰا ۝٦١

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

(and that too in a state of being) accursed. Wherever they are found, they shall be seized, and shall be killed thoroughl

malʿūnīna aynamā thuqifū ukhidhū waquttilū taqtīla

33:62

سُنَّةَ ٱللَّهِ فِی ٱلَّذِینَ خَلَوۡا۟ مِن قَبۡلُۖ وَلَن تَجِدَ لِسُنَّةِ ٱللَّهِ تَبۡدِیلࣰا ۝٦٢

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

_ a consistent practice of Allah in the matter of those who have gone before. And you will never find a change in Allah‘s consistent practice

sunnata l-lahi fī alladhīna khalaw min qablu walan tajida lisunnati l-lahi tabdīla

33:63

یَسۡءَلُكَ ٱلنَّاسُ عَنِ ٱلسَّاعَةِۖ قُلۡ إِنَّمَا عِلۡمُهَا عِندَ ٱللَّهِۚ وَمَا یُدۡرِیكَ لَعَلَّ ٱلسَّاعَةَ تَكُونُ قَرِیبًا ۝٦٣

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

People ask you about the Hour (i.e. the Day of Judgment). Say,. Its knowledge is only with Allah. And what can let you know? May be, the Hour is near

yasaluka l-nāsu ʿani l-sāʿati qul innamā ʿil'muhā ʿinda l-lahi wamā yud'rīka laʿalla l-sāʿata takūnu qarība

33:64

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَعَنَ ٱلۡكَـٰفِرِینَ وَأَعَدَّ لَهُمۡ سَعِیرًا ۝٦٤

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

Surely, Allah has cursed the infidels, and has prepared for them a flaming fire

inna l-laha laʿana l-kāfirīna wa-aʿadda lahum saʿīra

33:65

خَـٰلِدِینَ فِیهَاۤ أَبَدࣰاۖ لَّا یَجِدُونَ وَلِیࣰّا وَلَا نَصِیرࣰا ۝٦٥

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

wherein they will live forever, finding no one to protect or to help

khālidīna fīhā abadan lā yajidūna waliyyan walā naṣīra

33:66

یَوۡمَ تُقَلَّبُ وُجُوهُهُمۡ فِی ٱلنَّارِ یَقُولُونَ یَـٰلَیۡتَنَاۤ أَطَعۡنَا ٱللَّهَ وَأَطَعۡنَا ٱلرَّسُولَا۠ ۝٦٦

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

The Day their faces will be rolled in the fire, they will say, .Oh, would that we had obeyed Allah and obeyed the Messenger!

yawma tuqallabu wujūhuhum fī l-nāri yaqūlūna yālaytanā aṭaʿnā l-laha wa-aṭaʿnā l-rasūl

33:67

وَقَالُوا۟ رَبَّنَاۤ إِنَّاۤ أَطَعۡنَا سَادَتَنَا وَكُبَرَاۤءَنَا فَأَضَلُّونَا ٱلسَّبِیلَا۠ ۝٦٧

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

And they will say, .Our Lord, we obeyed our chiefs and our elders, and they made us to go astray from the path

waqālū rabbanā innā aṭaʿnā sādatanā wakubarāanā fa-aḍallūnā l-sabīl

33:68

رَبَّنَاۤ ءَاتِهِمۡ ضِعۡفَیۡنِ مِنَ ٱلۡعَذَابِ وَٱلۡعَنۡهُمۡ لَعۡنࣰا كَبِیرࣰا ۝٦٨

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

Our Lord, give them twice the punishment, and send a curse on them, an enormous curse

rabbanā ātihim ḍiʿ'fayni mina l-ʿadhābi wal-ʿanhum laʿnan kabīra

33:69

یَـٰۤأَیُّهَا ٱلَّذِینَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تَكُونُوا۟ كَٱلَّذِینَ ءَاذَوۡا۟ مُوسَىٰ فَبَرَّأَهُ ٱللَّهُ مِمَّا قَالُوا۟ۚ وَكَانَ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ وَجِیهࣰا ۝٦٩

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

O you who believe, be not like those who annoyed Musa, then Allah cleared him of what they alleged; and he was honorable in the sight of Allah

yāayyuhā alladhīna āmanū lā takūnū ka-alladhīna ādhaw mūsā fabarra-ahu l-lahu mimmā qālū wakāna ʿinda l-lahi wajīha

33:70

یَـٰۤأَیُّهَا ٱلَّذِینَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَقُولُوا۟ قَوۡلࣰا سَدِیدࣰاۙ ۝٧٠

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

O you who believe, fear Allah, and speak in straightforward words

yāayyuhā alladhīna āmanū ittaqū l-laha waqūlū qawlan sadīda

33:71

یُصۡلِحۡ لَكُمۡ أَعۡمَـٰلَكُمۡ وَیَغۡفِرۡ لَكُمۡ ذُنُوبَكُمۡۗ وَمَن یُطِعِ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ فَقَدۡ فَازَ فَوۡزًا عَظِیمًا ۝٧١

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

(If you do so,) Allah will correct your deeds for your benefit, and forgive your sins for you. Whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger achieves a great success

yuṣ'liḥ lakum aʿmālakum wayaghfir lakum dhunūbakum waman yuṭiʿi l-laha warasūlahu faqad fāza fawzan ʿaẓīma

33:72

إِنَّا عَرَضۡنَا ٱلۡأَمَانَةَ عَلَى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَٱلۡجِبَالِ فَأَبَیۡنَ أَن یَحۡمِلۡنَهَا وَأَشۡفَقۡنَ مِنۡهَا وَحَمَلَهَا ٱلۡإِنسَـٰنُۖ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ ظَلُومࣰا جَهُولࣰا ۝٧٢

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

We did offer the Trust to the heavens and the earth and the mountains, but they refused to bear its burden and were afraid of it, and man picked it up. Indeed he is unjust (to himself), unaware (of the end)

innā ʿaraḍnā l-amānata ʿalā l-samāwāti wal-arḍi wal-jibāli fa-abayna an yaḥmil'nahā wa-ashfaqna min'hā waḥamalahā l-insānu innahu kāna ẓalūman jahūla

33:73

لِّیُعَذِّبَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلۡمُنَـٰفِقِینَ وَٱلۡمُنَـٰفِقَـٰتِ وَٱلۡمُشۡرِكِینَ وَٱلۡمُشۡرِكَـٰتِ وَیَتُوبَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَى ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِینَ وَٱلۡمُؤۡمِنَـٰتِۗ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ غَفُورࣰا رَّحِیمَۢا ۝٧٣

Muhammad Taqi Usmani

The result (of all this) is that Allah will punish the hypocrites, men and women, and the Mushriks, men and women, and will accept the repentance of the believing men and women. Surely Allah is Most-Forgiving, Very-Merciful

liyuʿadhiba l-lahu l-munāfiqīna wal-munāfiqāti wal-mush'rikīna wal-mush'rikāti wayatūba l-lahu ʿalā l-mu'minīna wal-mu'mināti wakāna l-lahu ghafūran raḥīma
