They are the ones who refused to accept Allâh (into their life), prevented you from (entering) the ‘Sacred Mosque’, and debarred the offering from reaching its destination. If it had not been for certain ‘Monotheistic Believers’, men and women, whom you did not know, lest you might trample them, and thus, something hateful might have afflicted you unwittingly on their account- so that Allâh may admit into His Mercy who He wills. If they had been apart (from them), We would have chastised those who refused to accept Allâh (into their life) among them with an agonizing torment.

‘Muhammad’ is the ‘Messenger’ of Allâh, and those with him are harsh with those who lack faith (in Allâh), and merciful among themselves. You see them bowing and falling prostrating (in prayer) seeking bounty from Allâh and (His) pleasure. Their marks are on their faces from the traces of prostration. That is their likeness in the ‘Torah’, and their likeness in the ‘Gospel’; a seed that puts forth its sprout, then strengthens it, and it grows stout and rises straight on its stem, delighting the sowers, that He may outrage those who lack faith ( in Allâh) by them. Allâh has promised those who adhere firmly to Islamic monotheism and do righteous acts (in this ‘worldly life’), among them, forgiveness and an immense reward.
