1 Hudaibiyah Truce — a Victory

إِنَّا فَتَحۡنَا لَكَ فَتۡحࣰا مُّبِینࣰا ۝١

We have opened the way for you to a clear victory

innā fataḥnā laka fatḥan mubīna

لِّیَغۡفِرَ لَكَ ٱللَّهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِن ذَنۢبِكَ وَمَا تَأَخَّرَ وَیُتِمَّ نِعۡمَتَهُۥ عَلَیۡكَ وَیَهۡدِیَكَ صِرَ ٰطࣰا مُّسۡتَقِیمࣰا ۝٢

That God may forgive you your previous and later sins, complete His grace upon you and guide you on a straight path

liyaghfira laka l-lahu mā taqaddama min dhanbika wamā ta-akhara wayutimma niʿ'matahu ʿalayka wayahdiyaka ṣirāṭan mus'taqīma

وَیَنصُرَكَ ٱللَّهُ نَصۡرًا عَزِیزًا ۝٣

That God may help you to a mighty victory.

wayanṣuraka l-lahu naṣran ʿazīza

هُوَ ٱلَّذِیۤ أَنزَلَ ٱلسَّكِینَةَ فِی قُلُوبِ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِینَ لِیَزۡدَادُوۤا۟ إِیمَـٰنࣰا مَّعَ إِیمَـٰنِهِمۡۗ وَلِلَّهِ جُنُودُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ عَلِیمًا حَكِیمࣰا ۝٤

It is He who sent down tranquility into the hearts of the believers that they would add faith to their faith. To God belong the forces of the heavens and earth. God is All-Knowing and All-Wise.

huwa alladhī anzala l-sakīnata fī qulūbi l-mu'minīna liyazdādū īmānan maʿa īmānihim walillahi junūdu l-samāwāti wal-arḍi wakāna l-lahu ʿalīman ḥakīma

لِّیُدۡخِلَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِینَ وَٱلۡمُؤۡمِنَـٰتِ جَنَّـٰتࣲ تَجۡرِی مِن تَحۡتِهَا ٱلۡأَنۡهَـٰرُ خَـٰلِدِینَ فِیهَا وَیُكَفِّرَ عَنۡهُمۡ سَیِّءَاتِهِمۡۚ وَكَانَ ذَ ٰلِكَ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ فَوۡزًا عَظِیمࣰا ۝٥

He will admit the believing men and the believing women to Gardens with rivers flowing through them to remain there eternally and to remove their offenses. That, with God, is a great triumph

liyud'khila l-mu'minīna wal-mu'mināti jannātin tajrī min taḥtihā l-anhāru khālidīna fīhā wayukaffira ʿanhum sayyiātihim wakāna dhālika ʿinda l-lahi fawzan ʿaẓīma

وَیُعَذِّبَ ٱلۡمُنَـٰفِقِینَ وَٱلۡمُنَـٰفِقَـٰتِ وَٱلۡمُشۡرِكِینَ وَٱلۡمُشۡرِكَـٰتِ ٱلظَّاۤنِّینَ بِٱللَّهِ ظَنَّ ٱلسَّوۡءِۚ عَلَیۡهِمۡ دَاۤىِٕرَةُ ٱلسَّوۡءِۖ وَغَضِبَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَیۡهِمۡ وَلَعَنَهُمۡ وَأَعَدَّ لَهُمۡ جَهَنَّمَۖ وَسَاۤءَتۡ مَصِیرࣰا ۝٦

And He will punish the hypocrite men and hypocrite women, and the idolater men and idolater women, those who harbor evil thoughts about God. They will suffer an evil turn of fate; God is angry with them, has rejected them, and has prepared Hell for them. What a miserable destination.

wayuʿadhiba l-munāfiqīna wal-munāfiqāti wal-mush'rikīna wal-mush'rikāti l-ẓānīna bil-lahi ẓanna l-sawi ʿalayhim dāiratu l-sawi waghaḍiba l-lahu ʿalayhim walaʿanahum wa-aʿadda lahum jahannama wasāat maṣīra

وَلِلَّهِ جُنُودُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ عَزِیزًا حَكِیمًا ۝٧

And to God belongs the forces of heavens and earth. God is Almighty and All-Wise.

walillahi junūdu l-samāwāti wal-arḍi wakāna l-lahu ʿazīzan ḥakīma

إِنَّاۤ أَرۡسَلۡنَـٰكَ شَـٰهِدࣰا وَمُبَشِّرࣰا وَنَذِیرࣰا ۝٨

We have sent you as a witness, a bearer of good news and a giver of warning.

innā arsalnāka shāhidan wamubashiran wanadhīra

لِّتُؤۡمِنُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦ وَتُعَزِّرُوهُ وَتُوَقِّرُوهُۚ وَتُسَبِّحُوهُ بُكۡرَةࣰ وَأَصِیلًا ۝٩

That you may believe in God and His Messenger, and honor Him, revere Him and to praise His limitless glory morning and evening.

litu'minū bil-lahi warasūlihi watuʿazzirūhu watuwaqqirūhu watusabbiḥūhu buk'ratan wa-aṣīla

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِینَ یُبَایِعُونَكَ إِنَّمَا یُبَایِعُونَ ٱللَّهَ یَدُ ٱللَّهِ فَوۡقَ أَیۡدِیهِمۡۚ فَمَن نَّكَثَ فَإِنَّمَا یَنكُثُ عَلَىٰ نَفۡسِهِۦۖ وَمَنۡ أَوۡفَىٰ بِمَا عَـٰهَدَ عَلَیۡهُ ٱللَّهَ فَسَیُؤۡتِیهِ أَجۡرًا عَظِیمࣰا ۝١٠

Those who pledge allegiance to you [Prophet], are actually pledging allegiance to God. God's hand is placed over theirs. Whoever breaks his pledge breaks it to his own detriment. And whoever fulfills his pledge with God, He will give him a great reward.

inna alladhīna yubāyiʿūnaka innamā yubāyiʿūna l-laha yadu l-lahi fawqa aydīhim faman nakatha fa-innamā yankuthu ʿalā nafsihi waman awfā bimā ʿāhada ʿalayhu l-laha fasayu'tīhi ajran ʿaẓīma

2 The Defaulters

سَیَقُولُ لَكَ ٱلۡمُخَلَّفُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡأَعۡرَابِ شَغَلَتۡنَاۤ أَمۡوَ ٰلُنَا وَأَهۡلُونَا فَٱسۡتَغۡفِرۡ لَنَاۚ یَقُولُونَ بِأَلۡسِنَتِهِم مَّا لَیۡسَ فِی قُلُوبِهِمۡۚ قُلۡ فَمَن یَمۡلِكُ لَكُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ شَیۡءًا إِنۡ أَرَادَ بِكُمۡ ضَرًّا أَوۡ أَرَادَ بِكُمۡ نَفۡعَۢاۚ بَلۡ كَانَ ٱللَّهُ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ خَبِیرَۢا ۝١١

The Dessert-Arabs who stayed behind [when you went to battle] will say to you, "We were preoccupied with our properties and our families, so ask forgiveness for us." They say with their tongues what is not in their hearts. Say, "If God intended harm for you or intended benefit, who can intervene for you? God is fully aware of what you do.

sayaqūlu laka l-mukhalafūna mina l-aʿrābi shaghalatnā amwālunā wa-ahlūnā fa-is'taghfir lanā yaqūlūna bi-alsinatihim mā laysa fī qulūbihim qul faman yamliku lakum mina l-lahi shayan in arāda bikum ḍarran aw arāda bikum nafʿan bal kāna l-lahu bimā taʿmalūna khabīra

بَلۡ ظَنَنتُمۡ أَن لَّن یَنقَلِبَ ٱلرَّسُولُ وَٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَ إِلَىٰۤ أَهۡلِیهِمۡ أَبَدࣰا وَزُیِّنَ ذَ ٰلِكَ فِی قُلُوبِكُمۡ وَظَنَنتُمۡ ظَنَّ ٱلسَّوۡءِ وَكُنتُمۡ قَوۡمَۢا بُورࣰا ۝١٢

But you thought that the Messenger and the believers will never return to their families, ever, and this seemed fine to your hearts. You harbored evil thoughts, and were corrupt people."

bal ẓanantum an lan yanqaliba l-rasūlu wal-mu'minūna ilā ahlīhim abadan wazuyyina dhālika fī qulūbikum waẓanantum ẓanna l-sawi wakuntum qawman būra

وَمَن لَّمۡ یُؤۡمِنۢ بِٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦ فَإِنَّاۤ أَعۡتَدۡنَا لِلۡكَـٰفِرِینَ سَعِیرࣰا ۝١٣

For those who do not believe in God and His Messenger, We have prepared a blazing Fire

waman lam yu'min bil-lahi warasūlihi fa-innā aʿtadnā lil'kāfirīna saʿīra

وَلِلَّهِ مُلۡكُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ یَغۡفِرُ لِمَن یَشَاۤءُ وَیُعَذِّبُ مَن یَشَاۤءُۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ غَفُورࣰا رَّحِیمࣰا ۝١٤

To God belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth. He forgives whom He wills and punishes whom He wills. And ever is God Ever Forgiving, the Mercy Giver.

walillahi mul'ku l-samāwāti wal-arḍi yaghfiru liman yashāu wayuʿadhibu man yashāu wakāna l-lahu ghafūran raḥīma

سَیَقُولُ ٱلۡمُخَلَّفُونَ إِذَا ٱنطَلَقۡتُمۡ إِلَىٰ مَغَانِمَ لِتَأۡخُذُوهَا ذَرُونَا نَتَّبِعۡكُمۡۖ یُرِیدُونَ أَن یُبَدِّلُوا۟ كَلَـٰمَ ٱللَّهِۚ قُل لَّن تَتَّبِعُونَا كَذَ ٰلِكُمۡ قَالَ ٱللَّهُ مِن قَبۡلُۖ فَسَیَقُولُونَ بَلۡ تَحۡسُدُونَنَاۚ بَلۡ كَانُوا۟ لَا یَفۡقَهُونَ إِلَّا قَلِیلࣰا ۝١٥

As soon as you are about to depart on a war that promises gains, those who [previously] stayed behind will say, "Allow us to go with you". They wish to alter the Words of God. Say: "You may not go with us: God has said so before." They will say, "You envy us". How little they understand.

sayaqūlu l-mukhalafūna idhā inṭalaqtum ilā maghānima litakhudhūhā dharūnā nattabiʿ'kum yurīdūna an yubaddilū kalāma l-lahi qul lan tattabiʿūnā kadhālikum qāla l-lahu min qablu fasayaqūlūna bal taḥsudūnanā bal kānū lā yafqahūna illā qalīla

قُل لِّلۡمُخَلَّفِینَ مِنَ ٱلۡأَعۡرَابِ سَتُدۡعَوۡنَ إِلَىٰ قَوۡمٍ أُو۟لِی بَأۡسࣲ شَدِیدࣲ تُقَـٰتِلُونَهُمۡ أَوۡ یُسۡلِمُونَۖ فَإِن تُطِیعُوا۟ یُؤۡتِكُمُ ٱللَّهُ أَجۡرًا حَسَنࣰاۖ وَإِن تَتَوَلَّوۡا۟ كَمَا تَوَلَّیۡتُم مِّن قَبۡلُ یُعَذِّبۡكُمۡ عَذَابًا أَلِیمࣰا ۝١٦

Say to those Dessert-Arabs who stayed behind, "Eventually, you will be called to face people of great military might; you will either have to fight them, or they will submit to God's will. If you obey, God will give you a good reward; but if you turn away as you turned away before, He will punish you with a painful punishment."

qul lil'mukhallafīna mina l-aʿrābi satud'ʿawna ilā qawmin ulī basin shadīdin tuqātilūnahum aw yus'limūna fa-in tuṭīʿū yu'tikumu l-lahu ajran ḥasanan wa-in tatawallaw kamā tawallaytum min qablu yuʿadhib'kum ʿadhāban alīma

لَّیۡسَ عَلَى ٱلۡأَعۡمَىٰ حَرَجࣱ وَلَا عَلَى ٱلۡأَعۡرَجِ حَرَجࣱ وَلَا عَلَى ٱلۡمَرِیضِ حَرَجࣱۗ وَمَن یُطِعِ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ یُدۡخِلۡهُ جَنَّـٰتࣲ تَجۡرِی مِن تَحۡتِهَا ٱلۡأَنۡهَـٰرُۖ وَمَن یَتَوَلَّ یُعَذِّبۡهُ عَذَابًا أَلِیمࣰا ۝١٧

There is no blame on the blind, the lame or the ill. God will admit anyone who obeys Him and His Messenger to Gardens with rivers flowing through them; But He will painfully punish anyone who turns away.

laysa ʿalā l-aʿmā ḥarajun walā ʿalā l-aʿraji ḥarajun walā ʿalā l-marīḍi ḥarajun waman yuṭiʿi l-laha warasūlahu yud'khil'hu jannātin tajrī min taḥtihā l-anhāru waman yatawalla yuʿadhib'hu ʿadhāban alīma

3 More Victories for Islam

۞ لَّقَدۡ رَضِیَ ٱللَّهُ عَنِ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِینَ إِذۡ یُبَایِعُونَكَ تَحۡتَ ٱلشَّجَرَةِ فَعَلِمَ مَا فِی قُلُوبِهِمۡ فَأَنزَلَ ٱلسَّكِینَةَ عَلَیۡهِمۡ وَأَثَـٰبَهُمۡ فَتۡحࣰا قَرِیبࣰا ۝١٨

God was pleased with the believers when they pledged allegiance to you under the tree. He knew what was in their hearts, so He sent down tranquility to them, and rewarded them with an imminent victory

laqad raḍiya l-lahu ʿani l-mu'minīna idh yubāyiʿūnaka taḥta l-shajarati faʿalima mā fī qulūbihim fa-anzala l-sakīnata ʿalayhim wa-athābahum fatḥan qarība

وَمَغَانِمَ كَثِیرَةࣰ یَأۡخُذُونَهَاۗ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ عَزِیزًا حَكِیمࣰا ۝١٩

and abundant gains to capture. God is the Almighty and All-Wise.

wamaghānima kathīratan yakhudhūnahā wakāna l-lahu ʿazīzan ḥakīma

وَعَدَكُمُ ٱللَّهُ مَغَانِمَ كَثِیرَةࣰ تَأۡخُذُونَهَا فَعَجَّلَ لَكُمۡ هَـٰذِهِۦ وَكَفَّ أَیۡدِیَ ٱلنَّاسِ عَنكُمۡ وَلِتَكُونَ ءَایَةࣰ لِّلۡمُؤۡمِنِینَ وَیَهۡدِیَكُمۡ صِرَ ٰطࣰا مُّسۡتَقِیمࣰا ۝٢٠

God has promised you abundant future gains. He has expedited this for you [victory], and has held hostile people's hands back from you; that it may be a sign for the believers, and that He may guide you to a straight path.

waʿadakumu l-lahu maghānima kathīratan takhudhūnahā faʿajjala lakum hādhihi wakaffa aydiya l-nāsi ʿankum walitakūna āyatan lil'mu'minīna wayahdiyakum ṣirāṭan mus'taqīma

وَأُخۡرَىٰ لَمۡ تَقۡدِرُوا۟ عَلَیۡهَا قَدۡ أَحَاطَ ٱللَّهُ بِهَاۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَیۡءࣲ قَدِیرࣰا ۝٢١

And there are yet other gains to come. God has already covered for you. God is Able to do all things.

wa-ukh'rā lam taqdirū ʿalayhā qad aḥāṭa l-lahu bihā wakāna l-lahu ʿalā kulli shayin qadīra

وَلَوۡ قَـٰتَلَكُمُ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ لَوَلَّوُا۟ ٱلۡأَدۡبَـٰرَ ثُمَّ لَا یَجِدُونَ وَلِیࣰّا وَلَا نَصِیرࣰا ۝٢٢

If the unbelievers had fought you, they would have turned back and fled. Then they will find neither a protector nor a helper.

walaw qātalakumu alladhīna kafarū lawallawū l-adbāra thumma lā yajidūna waliyyan walā naṣīra

سُنَّةَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلَّتِی قَدۡ خَلَتۡ مِن قَبۡلُۖ وَلَن تَجِدَ لِسُنَّةِ ٱللَّهِ تَبۡدِیلࣰا ۝٢٣

Such is God's way which is ongoing. You will never find any change in God's way.

sunnata l-lahi allatī qad khalat min qablu walan tajida lisunnati l-lahi tabdīla

وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِی كَفَّ أَیۡدِیَهُمۡ عَنكُمۡ وَأَیۡدِیَكُمۡ عَنۡهُم بِبَطۡنِ مَكَّةَ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ أَنۡ أَظۡفَرَكُمۡ عَلَیۡهِمۡۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ بَصِیرًا ۝٢٤

It is He who held their hands from you and your hands from them, in the Makah valley, after He gave you the upper hand over them. God is ever seeing of what you do.

wahuwa alladhī kaffa aydiyahum ʿankum wa-aydiyakum ʿanhum bibaṭni makkata min baʿdi an aẓfarakum ʿalayhim wakāna l-lahu bimā taʿmalūna baṣīra

هُمُ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَصَدُّوكُمۡ عَنِ ٱلۡمَسۡجِدِ ٱلۡحَرَامِ وَٱلۡهَدۡیَ مَعۡكُوفًا أَن یَبۡلُغَ مَحِلَّهُۥۚ وَلَوۡلَا رِجَالࣱ مُّؤۡمِنُونَ وَنِسَاۤءࣱ مُّؤۡمِنَـٰتࣱ لَّمۡ تَعۡلَمُوهُمۡ أَن تَطَءُوهُمۡ فَتُصِیبَكُم مِّنۡهُم مَّعَرَّةُۢ بِغَیۡرِ عِلۡمࣲۖ لِّیُدۡخِلَ ٱللَّهُ فِی رَحۡمَتِهِۦ مَن یَشَاۤءُۚ لَوۡ تَزَیَّلُوا۟ لَعَذَّبۡنَا ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِنۡهُمۡ عَذَابًا أَلِیمًا ۝٢٥

It is they who denied the truth, and barred you from the Sacred House, and prevented the offering from reaching its destination. Were it not for some believing men and believing women, whom you did not know, you were about to hurt them, and become unknowingly guilty. Thus God admits into His mercy whomever He wills. Had the unbelievers been clearly distinguishable, We would have inflicted on them a painful punishment.

humu alladhīna kafarū waṣaddūkum ʿani l-masjidi l-ḥarāmi wal-hadya maʿkūfan an yablugha maḥillahu walawlā rijālun mu'minūna wanisāon mu'minātun lam taʿlamūhum an taṭaūhum fatuṣībakum min'hum maʿarratun bighayri ʿil'min liyud'khila l-lahu fī raḥmatihi man yashāu law tazayyalū laʿadhabnā alladhīna kafarū min'hum ʿadhāban alīma

إِذۡ جَعَلَ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ فِی قُلُوبِهِمُ ٱلۡحَمِیَّةَ حَمِیَّةَ ٱلۡجَـٰهِلِیَّةِ فَأَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ سَكِینَتَهُۥ عَلَىٰ رَسُولِهِۦ وَعَلَى ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِینَ وَأَلۡزَمَهُمۡ كَلِمَةَ ٱلتَّقۡوَىٰ وَكَانُوۤا۟ أَحَقَّ بِهَا وَأَهۡلَهَاۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ بِكُلِّ شَیۡءٍ عَلِیمࣰا ۝٢٦

The unbelievers had filled their hearts with fury, the fury of ignorance. But God sent down His tranquility on His Messenger and the believers, and made binding on them the word of God consciousness, to which they were most entitled and most deserving. God is Knowing of all things.

idh jaʿala alladhīna kafarū fī qulūbihimu l-ḥamiyata ḥamiyyata l-jāhiliyati fa-anzala l-lahu sakīnatahu ʿalā rasūlihi waʿalā l-mu'minīna wa-alzamahum kalimata l-taqwā wakānū aḥaqqa bihā wa-ahlahā wakāna l-lahu bikulli shayin ʿalīma

4 Ultimate Triumph of Islam

لَّقَدۡ صَدَقَ ٱللَّهُ رَسُولَهُ ٱلرُّءۡیَا بِٱلۡحَقِّۖ لَتَدۡخُلُنَّ ٱلۡمَسۡجِدَ ٱلۡحَرَامَ إِن شَاۤءَ ٱللَّهُ ءَامِنِینَ مُحَلِّقِینَ رُءُوسَكُمۡ وَمُقَصِّرِینَ لَا تَخَافُونَۖ فَعَلِمَ مَا لَمۡ تَعۡلَمُوا۟ فَجَعَلَ مِن دُونِ ذَ ٰلِكَ فَتۡحࣰا قَرِیبًا ۝٢٧

God has fulfilled His Messenger's vision in Truth: "You will enter the Sacred House, God willing, in safety, with your heads shaved or hair shortened, with no fear. He knew what you did not know, and has granted you besides this, a victory soon to come.

laqad ṣadaqa l-lahu rasūlahu l-ru'yā bil-ḥaqi latadkhulunna l-masjida l-ḥarāma in shāa l-lahu āminīna muḥalliqīna ruūsakum wamuqaṣṣirīna lā takhāfūna faʿalima mā lam taʿlamū fajaʿala min dūni dhālika fatḥan qarība

هُوَ ٱلَّذِیۤ أَرۡسَلَ رَسُولَهُۥ بِٱلۡهُدَىٰ وَدِینِ ٱلۡحَقِّ لِیُظۡهِرَهُۥ عَلَى ٱلدِّینِ كُلِّهِۦۚ وَكَفَىٰ بِٱللَّهِ شَهِیدࣰا ۝٢٨

It is He who sent His Messenger with guidance and the religion of Truth, to prevail over all religions. God suffices as a Witness.

huwa alladhī arsala rasūlahu bil-hudā wadīni l-ḥaqi liyuẓ'hirahu ʿalā l-dīni kullihi wakafā bil-lahi shahīda

مُّحَمَّدࣱ رَّسُولُ ٱللَّهِۚ وَٱلَّذِینَ مَعَهُۥۤ أَشِدَّاۤءُ عَلَى ٱلۡكُفَّارِ رُحَمَاۤءُ بَیۡنَهُمۡۖ تَرَىٰهُمۡ رُكَّعࣰا سُجَّدࣰا یَبۡتَغُونَ فَضۡلࣰا مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَرِضۡوَ ٰنࣰاۖ سِیمَاهُمۡ فِی وُجُوهِهِم مِّنۡ أَثَرِ ٱلسُّجُودِۚ ذَ ٰلِكَ مَثَلُهُمۡ فِی ٱلتَّوۡرَىٰةِۚ وَمَثَلُهُمۡ فِی ٱلۡإِنجِیلِ كَزَرۡعٍ أَخۡرَجَ شَطۡءَهُۥ فَءَازَرَهُۥ فَٱسۡتَغۡلَظَ فَٱسۡتَوَىٰ عَلَىٰ سُوقِهِۦ یُعۡجِبُ ٱلزُّرَّاعَ لِیَغِیظَ بِهِمُ ٱلۡكُفَّارَۗ وَعَدَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِینَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ مِنۡهُم مَّغۡفِرَةࣰ وَأَجۡرًا عَظِیمَۢا ۝٢٩

Muhammad is the Messenger of God.Those with him are tough on the unbelievers, yet compassionate to one another. You see them kneeling and bowing down, seeking God's blessings and His approval. Their faces bear the mark of their prostrations. Such is their example in the Torah. And their description in the Gospel is like a plant that sprouts, becoming strong, grows thick, and rises on its stem to the delight of the farmer. Through them God infuriates the unbelievers. God has promised forgiveness and a great reward to those among them, who believe and do good deeds.

muḥammadun rasūlu l-lahi wa-alladhīna maʿahu ashiddāu ʿalā l-kufāri ruḥamāu baynahum tarāhum rukkaʿan sujjadan yabtaghūna faḍlan mina l-lahi wariḍ'wānan sīmāhum fī wujūhihim min athari l-sujūdi dhālika mathaluhum fī l-tawrāti wamathaluhum fī l-injīli kazarʿin akhraja shaṭahu faāzarahu fa-is'taghlaẓa fa-is'tawā ʿalā sūqihi yuʿ'jibu l-zurāʿa liyaghīẓa bihimu l-kufāra waʿada l-lahu alladhīna āmanū waʿamilū l-ṣāliḥāti min'hum maghfiratan wa-ajran ʿaẓīma
