1 The Cleaving

إِذَا السَّمَاءُ انفَطَرَتْ

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

When (all) the heavenly spheres will be split apart

Itha alssamao infatarat

وَإِذَا الْكَوَاكِبُ انتَثَرَتْ

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And when the planets will fall and scatter

Wa-itha alkawakibu intatharat

وَإِذَا الْبِحَارُ فُجِّرَتْ

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And when oceans (and rivers) will flood and overflow

Wa-itha albiharu fujjirat

وَإِذَا الْقُبُورُ بُعْثِرَتْ

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And when graves will be overturned

Wa-itha alqubooru buAAthirat

عَلِمَتْ نَفْسٌ مَّا قَدَّمَتْ وَأَخَّرَتْ

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

Then everyone will come to know what actions he sent forward and what he left behind

AAalimat nafsun ma qaddamat waakhkharat

يَا أَيُّهَا الْإِنسَانُ مَا غَرَّكَ بِرَبِّكَ الْكَرِيمِ

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

O man! What has deluded you concerning your Gracious Lord

Ya ayyuha al-insanu ma gharraka birabbika alkareemi

الَّذِي خَلَقَكَ فَسَوَّاكَ فَعَدَلَكَ

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

(The One) Who created you (from a fertiled ovum in the mother’s womb), then, (to structure your limbs at the fetal stage,) He shaped you aright, then brought about proportionate alteration in your constitution

Allathee khalaqaka fasawwaka faAAadalaka

فِي أَيِّ صُورَةٍ مَّا شَاءَ رَكَّبَكَ

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

He constituted you in whatever form He willed

Fee ayyi sooratin ma shaa rakkabaka

كَلَّا بَلْ تُكَذِّبُونَ بِالدِّينِ

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

That is the truth, (but) on the contrary, you deny the Day of Recompense

Kalla bal tukaththiboona bialddeeni

وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكُمْ لَحَافِظِينَ

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

Whereas there are guardian angels appointed over you

Wa-inna AAalaykum lahafitheena

كِرَامًا كَاتِبِينَ

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

(Who are) dignified, the scribes (writing the records of all your deeds)

Kiraman katibeena

يَعْلَمُونَ مَا تَفْعَلُونَ

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

They know (all) those (actions) which you do

YaAAlamoona ma tafAAaloona

إِنَّ الْأَبْرَارَ لَفِي نَعِيمٍ

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

Indeed, the truly good will be in the Garden of Bliss

Inna al-abrara lafee naAAeemin

وَإِنَّ الْفُجَّارَ لَفِي جَحِيمٍ

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And surely, the evildoers will be in the (Blazing Fire of) Hell

Wa-inna alfujjara lafee jaheemin

يَصْلَوْنَهَا يَوْمَ الدِّينِ

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

They will enter it on the Day of Rising

Yaslawnaha yawma alddeeni

وَمَا هُمْ عَنْهَا بِغَائِبِينَ

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And will never be able to absent themselves from it (Hell)

Wama hum AAanha bigha-ibeena

وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا يَوْمُ الدِّينِ

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And what have you made out what the Day of Recompense is

Wama adraka ma yawmu alddeeni

ثُمَّ مَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا يَوْمُ الدِّينِ

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

So what have you learnt about what the Day of Recompense is

Thumma ma adraka ma yawmu alddeeni

يَوْمَ لَا تَمْلِكُ نَفْسٌ لِّنَفْسٍ شَيْئًا وَالْأَمْرُ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلَّهِ

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

It is the Day when no soul will own anything for any other soul, and the command on that Day will be entirely Allah’s

Yawma la tamliku nafsun linafsin shay-an waal-amru yawma-ithin lillahi
