لِلَّهِ lillahi
to Allah Noun
ٱلْبَنَٰتِ l-banāti

سُبْحَٰنَهُۥ sub'ḥānahu
Glory be to Him Noun
وَلَهُم walahum
And for them Noun
مَّا mā
(is) what Noun
يَشْتَهُونَ yashtahūna
they desire V

They assign daughters to God––may He be exalted!––and the [sons] they desire to themselves

وَیَجۡعَلُونَ لِلَّهِ ٱلۡبَنَـٰتِ سُبۡحَـٰنَهُۥ وَلَهُم مَّا یَشۡتَهُونَ ۝٥٧

wayajʿalūna lillahi l-banāti sub'ḥānahu walahum mā yashtahūn
