Abraham 14:21 Noun
وَبَرَزُوا۟ لِلَّهِ جَمِیعࣰا فَقَالَ ٱلضُّعَفَـٰۤؤُا۟ لِلَّذِینَ ٱسۡتَكۡبَرُوۤا۟ إِنَّا كُنَّا لَكُمۡ تَبَعࣰا فَهَلۡ أَنتُم مُّغۡنُونَ عَنَّا مِنۡ عَذَابِ ٱللَّهِ مِن شَیۡءࣲۚ قَالُوا۟ لَوۡ هَدَىٰنَا ٱللَّهُ لَهَدَیۡنَـٰكُمۡۖ سَوَاۤءٌ عَلَیۡنَاۤ أَجَزِعۡنَاۤ أَمۡ صَبَرۡنَا مَا لَنَا مِن مَّحِیصࣲ ۝٢١
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And they will come out [for judgement] before Allah all together, and the weak will say to those who were arrogant, "Indeed, we were your followers, so can you avail us anything against the punishment of Allah ?" They will say, "If Allah had guided us, we would have guided you. It is all the same for us whether we show intolerance or are patient: there is for us no place of escape."
Abdel Haleem: When they all appear before Him, the weak will say to the powerseekers, ‘We were your followers. Can you protect us from any of God’s punishment?’ They will reply, ‘If God had guided us, we would have guided you. It makes no difference now whether we rage or endure with patience: there is no escape.’
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: They all come forth unto their Lord. Then those who were despised say unto those who were scornful: We were unto you a following, can ye then avert from us aught of Allah's doom? They say: Had Allah guided us, we should have guided you. Whether we rage or patiently endure is (now) all one for us; we have no place of refuge
Explained in Detail, Revelations Well Expounded 41:48 Noun
وَضَلَّ عَنۡهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ یَدۡعُونَ مِن قَبۡلُۖ وَظَنُّوا۟ مَا لَهُم مِّن مَّحِیصࣲ ۝٤٨
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And lost from them will be those they were invoking before, and they will be certain that they have no place of escape
Abdel Haleem: the gods they invoked before will have vanished away; they will know that there is no escape
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: And those to whom they used to cry of old have failed them, and they perceive they have no place of refuge
Council, Consultation, The Counsel 42:35 Noun
وَیَعۡلَمَ ٱلَّذِینَ یُجَـٰدِلُونَ فِیۤ ءَایَـٰتِنَا مَا لَهُم مِّن مَّحِیصࣲ ۝٣٥
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And [that is so] those who dispute concerning Our signs may know that for them there is no place of escape
Abdel Haleem: to let those who argue about Our messages know that there is no escape for them
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: And that those who argue concerning Our revelations may know they have no refuge
Women 4:121 Noun
أُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ مَأۡوَىٰهُمۡ جَهَنَّمُ وَلَا یَجِدُونَ عَنۡهَا مَحِیصࣰا ۝١٢١
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): The refuge of those will be Hell, and they will not find from it an escape
Abdel Haleem: Such people will have Hell for their home and will find no escape from it
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: For such, their habitation will be hell, and they will find no refuge therefrom
The Letter Qaf 50:36 Noun
وَكَمۡ أَهۡلَكۡنَا قَبۡلَهُم مِّن قَرۡنٍ هُمۡ أَشَدُّ مِنۡهُم بَطۡشࣰا فَنَقَّبُوا۟ فِی ٱلۡبِلَـٰدِ هَلۡ مِن مَّحِیصٍ ۝٣٦
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And how many a generation before them did We destroy who were greater than them in [striking] power and had explored throughout the lands. Is there any place of escape
Abdel Haleem: We have destroyed even mightier generations before these disbelievers, who travelled through [many] lands- was there any escape
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: And how many a generation We destroyed before them, who were mightier than these in prowess so that they overran the lands! Had they any place of refuge (when the judgment came)
