Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): Thus do We insert denial into the hearts of the criminals
Abdel Haleem: in this way We make the message slip through the hearts of evildoers
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Thus do We make it traverse the hearts of the guilty
The Bee 16:69 Verb
ثُمَّ كُلِی مِن كُلِّ ٱلثَّمَرَ ٰتِ فَٱسۡلُكِی سُبُلَ رَبِّكِ ذُلُلࣰاۚ یَخۡرُجُ مِنۢ بُطُونِهَا شَرَابࣱ مُّخۡتَلِفٌ أَلۡوَ ٰنُهُۥ فِیهِ شِفَاۤءࣱ لِّلنَّاسِۚ إِنَّ فِی ذَ ٰلِكَ لَءَایَةࣰ لِّقَوۡمࣲ یَتَفَكَّرُونَ ۝٦٩
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): Then eat from all the fruits and follow the ways of your Lord laid down [for you]." There emerges from their bellies a drink, varying in colors, in which there is healing for people. Indeed in that is a sign for a people who give thought
Abdel Haleem: Then feed on all kinds of fruit and follow the ways made easy for you by your Lord.’ From their bellies comes a drink of different colours in which there is healing for people. There truly is a sign in this for those who think
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Then eat of all fruits, and follow the ways of thy Lord, made smooth (for thee). There cometh forth from their bellies a drink divers of hues, wherein is healing for mankind. Lo! herein is indeed a portent for people who reflect
Ta Ha 20:53 Verb
ٱلَّذِی جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ مَهۡدࣰا وَسَلَكَ لَكُمۡ فِیهَا سُبُلࣰا وَأَنزَلَ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَاۤءِ مَاۤءࣰ فَأَخۡرَجۡنَا بِهِۦۤ أَزۡوَ ٰجࣰا مِّن نَّبَاتࣲ شَتَّىٰ ۝٥٣
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): [It is He] who has made for you the earth as a bed [spread out] and inserted therein for you roadways and sent down from the sky, rain and produced thereby categories of various plants
Abdel Haleem: It was He who spread out the earth for you and traced routes in it. He sent down water from the sky. With that water We bring forth every kind of plant
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Who hath appointed the earth as a bed and hath threaded roads for you therein and hath sent down water from the sky and thereby We have brought forth divers kinds of vegetation
The Believers 23:27 Verb
فَأَوۡحَیۡنَاۤ إِلَیۡهِ أَنِ ٱصۡنَعِ ٱلۡفُلۡكَ بِأَعۡیُنِنَا وَوَحۡیِنَا فَإِذَا جَاۤءَ أَمۡرُنَا وَفَارَ ٱلتَّنُّورُ فَٱسۡلُكۡ فِیهَا مِن كُلࣲّ زَوۡجَیۡنِ ٱثۡنَیۡنِ وَأَهۡلَكَ إِلَّا مَن سَبَقَ عَلَیۡهِ ٱلۡقَوۡلُ مِنۡهُمۡۖ وَلَا تُخَـٰطِبۡنِی فِی ٱلَّذِینَ ظَلَمُوۤا۟ إِنَّهُم مُّغۡرَقُونَ ۝٢٧
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): So We inspired to him, "Construct the ship under Our observation, and Our inspiration, and when Our command comes and the oven overflows, put into the ship from each [creature] two mates and your family, except those for whom the decree [of destruction] has proceeded. And do not address Me concerning those who have wronged; indeed, they are to be drowned
Abdel Haleem: and so We revealed to him: ‘Build the Ark under Our watchful eye and according to Our revelation. When Our command comes and water gushes up out of the earth,take pairs of every species on board, and your family, except for those on whom the sentence has already been passed- do not plead with me for the evildoers: they will be drowned
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Then We inspired in him, saying: Make the ship under Our eyes and Our inspiration. Then, when Our command cometh and the oven gusheth water, introduce therein of every (kind) two spouses, and thy household save him thereof against whom the Word hath already gone forth. And plead not with Me on behalf of those who have done wrong. Lo! they will be drowned
The Poets 26:200 Verb
كَذَ ٰلِكَ سَلَكۡنَـٰهُ فِی قُلُوبِ ٱلۡمُجۡرِمِینَ ۝٢٠٠
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): Thus have We inserted disbelief into the hearts of the criminals
Abdel Haleem: So We make it pass straight through the hearts of the guilty
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Thus do We make it traverse the hearts of the guilty
The Story, Stories, The Narrative 28:32 Verb
ٱسۡلُكۡ یَدَكَ فِی جَیۡبِكَ تَخۡرُجۡ بَیۡضَاۤءَ مِنۡ غَیۡرِ سُوۤءࣲ وَٱضۡمُمۡ إِلَیۡكَ جَنَاحَكَ مِنَ ٱلرَّهۡبِۖ فَذَ ٰنِكَ بُرۡهَـٰنَانِ مِن رَّبِّكَ إِلَىٰ فِرۡعَوۡنَ وَمَلَإِی۟هِۦۤۚ إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُوا۟ قَوۡمࣰا فَـٰسِقِینَ ۝٣٢
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): Insert your hand into the opening of your garment; it will come out white, without disease. And draw in your arm close to you [as prevention] from fear, for those are two proofs from your Lord to Pharaoh and his establishment. Indeed, they have been a people defiantly disobedient."
Abdel Haleem: Put your hand inside your shirt and it will come out white but unharmed- hold your arm close to your side, free from all fear. These shall be two signs from your Lord to Pharaoh and his chiefs; they are truly wicked people.’
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Thrust thy hand into the bosom of thy robe it will come forth white without hurt. And guard thy heart from fear. Then these shall be two proofs from your Lord unto Pharaoh and his chiefs. Lo! they are evil-living folk

أَلَمۡ تَرَ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ أَنزَلَ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَاۤءِ مَاۤءࣰ فَسَلَكَهُۥ یَنَـٰبِیعَ فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِ ثُمَّ یُخۡرِجُ بِهِۦ زَرۡعࣰا مُّخۡتَلِفًا أَلۡوَ ٰنُهُۥ ثُمَّ یَهِیجُ فَتَرَىٰهُ مُصۡفَرࣰّا ثُمَّ یَجۡعَلُهُۥ حُطَـٰمًاۚ إِنَّ فِی ذَ ٰلِكَ لَذِكۡرَىٰ لِأُو۟لِی ٱلۡأَلۡبَـٰبِ ۝٢١
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): Do you not see that Allah sends down rain from the sky and makes it flow as springs [and rivers] in the earth; then He produces thereby crops of varying colors; then they dry and you see them turned yellow; then He makes them [scattered] debris. Indeed in that is a reminder for those of understanding
Abdel Haleem: Have you not considered that God sends water down from the sky, guides it along to form springs in the earth, and then, with it, brings forth vegetation of various colours, which later withers, turns yellow before your eyes, and is crumbled to dust at His command? There is truly a reminder in this for those who have understanding
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Hast thou not seen how Allah hath sent down water from the sky and hath caused it to penetrate the earth as watersprings, and afterward thereby produceth crops of divers hues; and afterward they wither and thou seest them turn yellow; then He maketh them chaff. Lo! herein verily is a reminder for men of understanding
The Reality, The Inevitable 69:32 Verb
ثُمَّ فِی سِلۡسِلَةࣲ ذَرۡعُهَا سَبۡعُونَ ذِرَاعࣰا فَٱسۡلُكُوهُ ۝٣٢
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): Then into a chain whose length is seventy cubits insert him."
Abdel Haleem: and [bind him] in a chain seventy metres long
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: And then insert him in a chain whereof the length is seventy cubits
Noah 71:20 Verb
لِّتَسۡلُكُوا۟ مِنۡهَا سُبُلࣰا فِجَاجࣰا ۝٢٠
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): That you may follow therein roads of passage.' "
Abdel Haleem: to walk along its spacious paths?” ’
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: That ye may thread the valley-ways thereof
The Jinn 72:17 Verb
لِّنَفۡتِنَهُمۡ فِیهِۚ وَمَن یُعۡرِضۡ عَن ذِكۡرِ رَبِّهِۦ یَسۡلُكۡهُ عَذَابࣰا صَعَدࣰا ۝١٧
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): So We might test them therein. And whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord He will put into arduous punishment
Abdel Haleem: a test for them––but anyone who turns away from his Lord’s Revelation will be sent by Him to spiralling torment
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: That We may test them thereby, and whoso turneth away from the remembrance of his Lord; He will thrust him into ever-growing torment
The Jinn 72:27 Verb
إِلَّا مَنِ ٱرۡتَضَىٰ مِن رَّسُولࣲ فَإِنَّهُۥ یَسۡلُكُ مِنۢ بَیۡنِ یَدَیۡهِ وَمِنۡ خَلۡفِهِۦ رَصَدࣰا ۝٢٧
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): Except whom He has approved of messengers, and indeed, He sends before each messenger and behind him observer
Abdel Haleem: He does not disclose it except to a messenger of His choosing. He sends watchers to go in front and behin
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Save unto every messenger whom He hath chosen, and then He maketh a guard to go before him and a guard behind hi
The Cloaked One, The Man Wearing a Cloak, The Clothed One 74:42 Verb
مَا سَلَكَكُمۡ فِی سَقَرَ ۝٤٢
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): [And asking them], "What put you into Saqar?"
Abdel Haleem: ‘What drove you to the Scorching Fire?’ [they will ask]
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: What hath brought you to this burning
