وَلَا تَجۡعَلۡ یَدَكَ مَغۡلُولَةً إِلَىٰ عُنُقِكَ وَلَا تَبۡسُطۡهَا كُلَّ ٱلۡبَسۡطِ فَتَقۡعُدَ مَلُومࣰا مَّحۡسُورًا ٢٩
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
And do not make your hand [as] chained to your neck or extend it completely and [thereby] become blamed and insolvent
Abdel Haleem:
Do not be tight-fisted, nor so open-handed that you end up blamed and overwhelmed with regret
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
And let not thy hand be chained to thy neck nor open it with a complete opening, lest thou sit down rebuked, denuded
ذَ ٰلِكَ مِمَّاۤ أَوۡحَىٰۤ إِلَیۡكَ رَبُّكَ مِنَ ٱلۡحِكۡمَةِۗ وَلَا تَجۡعَلۡ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَـٰهًا ءَاخَرَ فَتُلۡقَىٰ فِی جَهَنَّمَ مَلُومࣰا مَّدۡحُورًا ٣٩
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
That is from what your Lord has revealed to you, [O Muhammad], of wisdom. And, [O mankind], do not make [as equal] with Allah another deity, lest you be thrown into Hell, blamed and banished
Abdel Haleem:
[Prophet], this is some of the wisdom your Lord has revealed to you: do not set up another god beside God, or you will be thrown into Hell, blamed and rejected
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
This is (part) of that wisdom wherewith thy Lord hath inspired thee (O Muhammad). And set not up with Allah any other god, lest thou be cast into hell, reproved, abandoned
The Believers 23:6
Noun
إِلَّا عَلَىٰۤ أَزۡوَ ٰجِهِمۡ أَوۡ مَا مَلَكَتۡ أَیۡمَـٰنُهُمۡ فَإِنَّهُمۡ غَیۡرُ مَلُومِینَ ٦
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
Except from their wives or those their right hands possess, for indeed, they will not be blamed
Abdel Haleem:
except with their spouses or their slaves––with these they are not to blame
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
Save from their wives or the (slaves) that their right hands possess, for then they are not blameworthy
فَٱلۡتَقَمَهُ ٱلۡحُوتُ وَهُوَ مُلِیمࣱ ١٤٢
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
Then the fish swallowed him, while he was blameworthy

and a great fish swallowed him, for he had committed blameworthy acts
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
And the fish swallowed him while he was blameworthy
فَأَخَذۡنَـٰهُ وَجُنُودَهُۥ فَنَبَذۡنَـٰهُمۡ فِی ٱلۡیَمِّ وَهُوَ مُلِیمࣱ ٤٠
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
So We took him and his soldiers and cast them into the sea, and he was blameworthy
Abdel Haleem:
so We seized him and his forces and threw them into the sea: he was to blame
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
So We seized him and his hosts and flung them in the sea, for he was reprobate
فَتَوَلَّ عَنۡهُمۡ فَمَاۤ أَنتَ بِمَلُومࣲ ٥٤
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
So leave them, [O Muhammad], for you are not to be blamed
Abdel Haleem:
so ignore them [Prophet]- you are not to blame
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
So withdraw from them (O Muhammad), for thou art in no wise blameworthy
یَـٰۤأَیُّهَا ٱلَّذِینَ ءَامَنُوا۟ مَن یَرۡتَدَّ مِنكُمۡ عَن دِینِهِۦ فَسَوۡفَ یَأۡتِی ٱللَّهُ بِقَوۡمࣲ یُحِبُّهُمۡ وَیُحِبُّونَهُۥۤ أَذِلَّةٍ عَلَى ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِینَ أَعِزَّةٍ عَلَى ٱلۡكَـٰفِرِینَ یُجَـٰهِدُونَ فِی سَبِیلِ ٱللَّهِ وَلَا یَخَافُونَ لَوۡمَةَ لَاۤىِٕمࣲۚ ذَ ٰلِكَ فَضۡلُ ٱللَّهِ یُؤۡتِیهِ مَن یَشَاۤءُۚ وَٱللَّهُ وَ ٰسِعٌ عَلِیمٌ ٥٤
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
O you who have believed, whoever of you should revert from his religion - Allah will bring forth [in place of them] a people He will love and who will love Him [who are] humble toward the believers, powerful against the disbelievers; they strive in the cause of Allah and do not fear the blame of a critic. That is the favor of Allah ; He bestows it upon whom He wills. And Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing
Abdel Haleem:
You who believe, if any of you go back on your faith, God will soon replace you with people He loves and who love Him, people who are humble towards the believers, hard on the disbelievers, and who strive in God’s way without fearing anyone’s reproach. Such is God’s favour. He grants it to whoever He will. God has endless bounty and knowledge
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
O ye who believe! Whoso of you becometh a renegade from his religion, (know that in his stead) Allah will bring a people whom He loveth and who love Him, humble toward believers, stern toward disbelievers, striving in the way of Allah, and fearing not the blame of any blamer. Such is the grace of Allah which He giveth unto whom He will. Allah is All-Embracing, All-Knowing
إِلَّا عَلَىٰۤ أَزۡوَ ٰجِهِمۡ أَوۡ مَا مَلَكَتۡ أَیۡمَـٰنُهُمۡ فَإِنَّهُمۡ غَیۡرُ مَلُومِینَ ٣٠
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
Except from their wives or those their right hands possess, for indeed, they are not to be blamed
Abdel Haleem:
from all but their spouses or their slave-girls––there is no blame attached to [relations with] these
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
Save with their wives and those whom their right hands possess, for thus they are not blameworthy
وَلَاۤ أُقۡسِمُ بِٱلنَّفۡسِ ٱللَّوَّامَةِ ٢
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
And I swear by the reproaching soul [to the certainty of resurrection]
Abdel Haleem:
and by the self-reproaching soul

Nay, I swear by the accusing soul (that this Scripture is true)

Joseph 12:32
Verb
قَالَتۡ فَذَ ٰلِكُنَّ ٱلَّذِی لُمۡتُنَّنِی فِیهِۖ وَلَقَدۡ رَ ٰوَدتُّهُۥ عَن نَّفۡسِهِۦ فَٱسۡتَعۡصَمَۖ وَلَىِٕن لَّمۡ یَفۡعَلۡ مَاۤ ءَامُرُهُۥ لَیُسۡجَنَنَّ وَلَیَكُونࣰا مِّنَ ٱلصَّـٰغِرِینَ ٣٢
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
She said, "That is the one about whom you blamed me. And I certainly sought to seduce him, but he firmly refused; and if he will not do what I order him, he will surely be imprisoned and will be of those debased."
Abdel Haleem:
She said, ‘This is the one you blamed me for. I tried to seduce him and he wanted to remain chaste, but if he does not do what I command now, he will be put in prison and degraded.’
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
She said: This is he on whose account ye blamed me. I asked of him an evil act, but he proved continent, but if he do not my behest he verily shall be imprisoned, and verily shall be of those brought low
Abraham 14:22
Verb
وَقَالَ ٱلشَّیۡطَـٰنُ لَمَّا قُضِیَ ٱلۡأَمۡرُ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ وَعَدَكُمۡ وَعۡدَ ٱلۡحَقِّ وَوَعَدتُّكُمۡ فَأَخۡلَفۡتُكُمۡۖ وَمَا كَانَ لِیَ عَلَیۡكُم مِّن سُلۡطَـٰنٍ إِلَّاۤ أَن دَعَوۡتُكُمۡ فَٱسۡتَجَبۡتُمۡ لِیۖ فَلَا تَلُومُونِی وَلُومُوۤا۟ أَنفُسَكُمۖ مَّاۤ أَنَا۠ بِمُصۡرِخِكُمۡ وَمَاۤ أَنتُم بِمُصۡرِخِیَّ إِنِّی كَفَرۡتُ بِمَاۤ أَشۡرَكۡتُمُونِ مِن قَبۡلُۗ إِنَّ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِینَ لَهُمۡ عَذَابٌ أَلِیمࣱ ٢٢
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
And Satan will say when the matter has been concluded, "Indeed, Allah had promised you the promise of truth. And I promised you, but I betrayed you. But I had no authority over you except that I invited you, and you responded to me. So do not blame me; but blame yourselves. I cannot be called to your aid, nor can you be called to my aid. Indeed, I deny your association of me [with Allah ] before. Indeed, for the wrongdoers is a painful punishment."
Abdel Haleem:
When everything has been decided, Satan will say, ‘God gave you a true promise. I too made promises but they were false ones: I had no power over you except to call you, and you responded to my call, so do not blame me; blame yourselves. I cannot help you, nor can you help me. I reject the way you associated me with God before.’ A bitter torment awaits such wrongdoers
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
And Satan saith, when the matter hath been decided: Lo! Allah promised you a promise of truth; and I promised you, then failed you. And I had no power over you save that I called unto you and ye obeyed me. So blame not, but blame yourselves. I cannot help you, nor can ye help me, Lo! I disbelieved in that which ye before ascribed to me. Lo! for wrong-doers is a painful doom
The Pen 68:30
Verb
فَأَقۡبَلَ بَعۡضُهُمۡ عَلَىٰ بَعۡضࣲ یَتَلَـٰوَمُونَ ٣٠
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
Then they approached one another, blaming each other
Abdel Haleem:
and then they turned to each other in mutual reproach

Then some of them drew near unto others, self-reproaching
