Translator Abdel Haleem
16 وَعَلَـٰمَـٰتࣲۚ وَبِٱلنَّجۡمِ هُمۡ یَهۡتَدُونَ ۝١٦ waʿalāmātin wabil-najmi hum yahtadūn and landmarks and stars to guide people 17 أَفَمَن یَخۡلُقُ كَمَن لَّا یَخۡلُقُۚ أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ ۝١٧ afaman yakhluqu kaman lā yakhluqu afalā tadhakkarūn Can He who creates be compared to one who cannot create? Why do you not take heed 18 وَإِن تَعُدُّوا۟ نِعۡمَةَ ٱللَّهِ لَا تُحۡصُوهَاۤۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَغَفُورࣱ رَّحِیمࣱ ۝١٨ wa-in taʿuddū niʿ'mata l-lahi lā tuḥ'ṣūhā inna l-laha laghafūrun raḥīmu If you tried to count God’s blessings, you could never take them all in: He is truly most forgiving and most merciful 19 وَٱللَّهُ یَعۡلَمُ مَا تُسِرُّونَ وَمَا تُعۡلِنُونَ ۝١٩ wal-lahu yaʿlamu mā tusirrūna wamā tuʿ'linūn He knows what you conceal and what you reveal
20 وَٱلَّذِینَ یَدۡعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ لَا یَخۡلُقُونَ شَیۡءࣰا وَهُمۡ یُخۡلَقُونَ ۝٢٠ wa-alladhīna yadʿūna min dūni l-lahi lā yakhluqūna shayan wahum yukh'laqūn Those they invoke beside God create nothing; they are themselves created
21 أَمۡوَ ٰتٌ غَیۡرُ أَحۡیَاۤءࣲۖ وَمَا یَشۡعُرُونَ أَیَّانَ یُبۡعَثُونَ ۝٢١ amwātun ghayru aḥyāin wamā yashʿurūna ayyāna yub'ʿathūn They are dead, not living. They do not know when they will be raised up 22 إِلَـٰهُكُمۡ إِلَـٰهࣱ وَ ٰحِدࣱۚ فَٱلَّذِینَ لَا یُؤۡمِنُونَ بِٱلۡءَاخِرَةِ قُلُوبُهُم مُّنكِرَةࣱ وَهُم مُّسۡتَكۡبِرُونَ ۝٢٢ ilāhukum ilāhun wāḥidun fa-alladhīna lā yu'minūna bil-ākhirati qulūbuhum munkiratun wahum mus'takbirūn Your God is the One God. As for those who deny the life to come, their hearts refuse to admit the truth and they are arrogant 23 لَا جَرَمَ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ یَعۡلَمُ مَا یُسِرُّونَ وَمَا یُعۡلِنُونَۚ إِنَّهُۥ لَا یُحِبُّ ٱلۡمُسۡتَكۡبِرِینَ ۝٢٣ lā jarama anna l-laha yaʿlamu mā yusirrūna wamā yuʿ'linūna innahu lā yuḥibbu l-mus'takbirīn There is no doubt that God knows what they conceal and what they reveal. He does not love the arrogant 24 وَإِذَا قِیلَ لَهُم مَّاذَاۤ أَنزَلَ رَبُّكُمۡ قَالُوۤا۟ أَسَـٰطِیرُ ٱلۡأَوَّلِینَ ۝٢٤ wa-idhā qīla lahum mādhā anzala rabbukum qālū asāṭīru l-awalīn When they are asked, ‘What has your Lord sent down?’ they say, ‘Ancient fables.’
