Verse 20:105 in Context

101 خَـٰلِدِینَ فِیهِۖ وَسَاۤءَ لَهُمۡ یَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِیَـٰمَةِ حِمۡلࣰا ۝١٠١ khālidīna fīhi wasāa lahum yawma l-qiyāmati ḥim'la and will remain under it. What a terrible burden to carry on that Day 102 یَوۡمَ یُنفَخُ فِی ٱلصُّورِۚ وَنَحۡشُرُ ٱلۡمُجۡرِمِینَ یَوۡمَىِٕذࣲ زُرۡقࣰا ۝١٠٢ yawma yunfakhu fī l-ṣūri wanaḥshuru l-muj'rimīna yawma-idhin zur'qa When the trumpet is sounded and We gather the sinful, sightless 103 یَتَخَـٰفَتُونَ بَیۡنَهُمۡ إِن لَّبِثۡتُمۡ إِلَّا عَشۡرࣰا ۝١٠٣ yatakhāfatūna baynahum in labith'tum illā ʿashra they will murmur to one another, ‘You stayed only ten days [on earth]’ 104 نَّحۡنُ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَا یَقُولُونَ إِذۡ یَقُولُ أَمۡثَلُهُمۡ طَرِیقَةً إِن لَّبِثۡتُمۡ إِلَّا یَوۡمࣰا ۝١٠٤ naḥnu aʿlamu bimā yaqūlūna idh yaqūlu amthaluhum ṭarīqatan in labith'tum illā yawma We know best what they say- but the more perceptive of them will say, ‘Your stay [on earth] was only a single day.’
105 وَیَسۡءَلُونَكَ عَنِ ٱلۡجِبَالِ فَقُلۡ یَنسِفُهَا رَبِّی نَسۡفࣰا ۝١٠٥ wayasalūnaka ʿani l-jibāli faqul yansifuhā rabbī nasfa They ask you [Prophet] about the mountains: say, ‘[On that Day] my Lord will blast them into dus
106 فَیَذَرُهَا قَاعࣰا صَفۡصَفࣰا ۝١٠٦ fayadharuhā qāʿan ṣafṣafa and leave a flat plain 107 لَّا تَرَىٰ فِیهَا عِوَجࣰا وَلَاۤ أَمۡتࣰا ۝١٠٧ lā tarā fīhā ʿiwajan walā amta with no peak or trough to be seen 108 یَوۡمَىِٕذࣲ یَتَّبِعُونَ ٱلدَّاعِیَ لَا عِوَجَ لَهُۥۖ وَخَشَعَتِ ٱلۡأَصۡوَاتُ لِلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ فَلَا تَسۡمَعُ إِلَّا هَمۡسࣰا ۝١٠٨ yawma-idhin yattabiʿūna l-dāʿiya lā ʿiwaja lahu wakhashaʿati l-aṣwātu lilrraḥmāni falā tasmaʿu illā hamsa On that Day, people will follow the summoner from whom there is no escape; every voice will be hushed for the Lord of Mercy; only whispers will be heard 109 یَوۡمَىِٕذࣲ لَّا تَنفَعُ ٱلشَّفَـٰعَةُ إِلَّا مَنۡ أَذِنَ لَهُ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنُ وَرَضِیَ لَهُۥ قَوۡلࣰا ۝١٠٩ yawma-idhin lā tanfaʿu l-shafāʿatu illā man adhina lahu l-raḥmānu waraḍiya lahu qawla On that Day, intercession will be useless except from those to whom the Lord of Mercy has granted permission and whose words He approves
