Verse 21:96 in Context

92 إِنَّ هَـٰذِهِۦۤ أُمَّتُكُمۡ أُمَّةࣰ وَ ٰحِدَةࣰ وَأَنَا۠ رَبُّكُمۡ فَٱعۡبُدُونِ ۝٩٢ inna hādhihi ummatukum ummatan wāḥidatan wa-anā rabbukum fa-uʿ'budūn [Messengers], this community of yours is one single community and I am your Lord, so serve Me 93 وَتَقَطَّعُوۤا۟ أَمۡرَهُم بَیۡنَهُمۡۖ كُلٌّ إِلَیۡنَا رَ ٰجِعُونَ ۝٩٣ wataqaṭṭaʿū amrahum baynahum kullun ilaynā rājiʿūn They have torn their unity apart, but they will all return to Us 94 فَمَن یَعۡمَلۡ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ وَهُوَ مُؤۡمِنࣱ فَلَا كُفۡرَانَ لِسَعۡیِهِۦ وَإِنَّا لَهُۥ كَـٰتِبُونَ ۝٩٤ faman yaʿmal mina l-ṣāliḥāti wahuwa mu'minun falā kuf'rāna lisaʿyihi wa-innā lahu kātibūn If anyone does good deeds and is a believer, his efforts will not be ignored: We record them for him 95 وَحَرَ ٰمٌ عَلَىٰ قَرۡیَةٍ أَهۡلَكۡنَـٰهَاۤ أَنَّهُمۡ لَا یَرۡجِعُونَ ۝٩٥ waḥarāmun ʿalā qaryatin ahlaknāhā annahum lā yarjiʿūn No community destroyed by Us can escape its return
96 حَتَّىٰۤ إِذَا فُتِحَتۡ یَأۡجُوجُ وَمَأۡجُوجُ وَهُم مِّن كُلِّ حَدَبࣲ یَنسِلُونَ ۝٩٦ ḥattā idhā futiḥat yajūju wamajūju wahum min kulli ḥadabin yansilūn and when the peoples of Gog and Magog are let loose and swarm swiftly from every highland
97 وَٱقۡتَرَبَ ٱلۡوَعۡدُ ٱلۡحَقُّ فَإِذَا هِیَ شَـٰخِصَةٌ أَبۡصَـٰرُ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ یَـٰوَیۡلَنَا قَدۡ كُنَّا فِی غَفۡلَةࣲ مِّنۡ هَـٰذَا بَلۡ كُنَّا ظَـٰلِمِینَ ۝٩٧ wa-iq'taraba l-waʿdu l-ḥaqu fa-idhā hiya shākhiṣatun abṣāru alladhīna kafarū yāwaylanā qad kunnā fī ghaflatin min hādhā bal kunnā ẓālimīn when the True Promise draws near, the disbelievers’ eyes will stare in terror, and they will say, ‘Woe to us! We were not aware of this at all. We were wrong.’ 98 إِنَّكُمۡ وَمَا تَعۡبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ حَصَبُ جَهَنَّمَ أَنتُمۡ لَهَا وَ ٰرِدُونَ ۝٩٨ innakum wamā taʿbudūna min dūni l-lahi ḥaṣabu jahannama antum lahā wāridūn You [disbelievers] and what you worship instead of God will be fuel for Hell: that is where you will go 99 لَوۡ كَانَ هَـٰۤؤُلَاۤءِ ءَالِهَةࣰ مَّا وَرَدُوهَاۖ وَكُلࣱّ فِیهَا خَـٰلِدُونَ ۝٩٩ law kāna hāulāi ālihatan mā waradūhā wakullun fīhā khālidūn if these [idols] had been real gods they would not have gone there- you will all stay there 100 لَهُمۡ فِیهَا زَفِیرࣱ وَهُمۡ فِیهَا لَا یَسۡمَعُونَ ۝١٠٠ lahum fīhā zafīrun wahum fīhā lā yasmaʿūn There the disbelievers will be groaning piteously, but the [idols] will hear nothing
