Verse 23:95 in Context

91 مَا ٱتَّخَذَ ٱللَّهُ مِن وَلَدࣲ وَمَا كَانَ مَعَهُۥ مِنۡ إِلَـٰهٍۚ إِذࣰا لَّذَهَبَ كُلُّ إِلَـٰهِۭ بِمَا خَلَقَ وَلَعَلَا بَعۡضُهُمۡ عَلَىٰ بَعۡضࣲۚ سُبۡحَـٰنَ ٱللَّهِ عَمَّا یَصِفُونَ ۝٩١ mā ittakhadha l-lahu min waladin wamā kāna maʿahu min ilāhin idhan ladhahaba kullu ilāhin bimā khalaqa walaʿalā baʿḍuhum ʿalā baʿḍin sub'ḥāna l-lahi ʿammā yaṣifūn God has never had a child. Nor is there any god beside Him- if there were, each god would have taken his creation aside and tried to overcome the others. May God be exalted above what they describe 92 عَـٰلِمِ ٱلۡغَیۡبِ وَٱلشَّهَـٰدَةِ فَتَعَـٰلَىٰ عَمَّا یُشۡرِكُونَ ۝٩٢ qul rabbi immā turiyannī mā yūʿadūn He knows what is not seen as well as what is seen; He is far above any partner they claim for Him 93 قُل رَّبِّ إِمَّا تُرِیَنِّی مَا یُوعَدُونَ ۝٩٣ Qul rabbi imma turiyannee ma yooAAadoona Say, ‘Lord, if You are going to show me the punishment You have promised them 94 رَبِّ فَلَا تَجۡعَلۡنِی فِی ٱلۡقَوۡمِ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِینَ ۝٩٤ rabbi falā tajʿalnī fī l-qawmi l-ẓālimīn then Lord, do not include me among the evildoers!’
95 وَإِنَّا عَلَىٰۤ أَن نُّرِیَكَ مَا نَعِدُهُمۡ لَقَـٰدِرُونَ ۝٩٥ wa-innā ʿalā an nuriyaka mā naʿiduhum laqādirūn We certainly are able to show you the punishment We have promised them
96 ٱدۡفَعۡ بِٱلَّتِی هِیَ أَحۡسَنُ ٱلسَّیِّئَةَۚ نَحۡنُ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَا یَصِفُونَ ۝٩٦ id'faʿ bi-allatī hiya aḥsanu l-sayi-ata naḥnu aʿlamu bimā yaṣifūn Repel evil with good- We are well aware of what they attribute to Us 97 وَقُل رَّبِّ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنۡ هَمَزَ ٰتِ ٱلشَّیَـٰطِینِ ۝٩٧ waqul rabbi aʿūdhu bika min hamazāti l-shayāṭīn and say, ‘Lord, I take refuge with You from the goadings of the evil ones 98 وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ رَبِّ أَن یَحۡضُرُونِ ۝٩٨ wa-aʿūdhu bika rabbi an yaḥḍurūn I seek refuge with you, Lord, so that they may not come near me.’ 99 حَتَّىٰۤ إِذَا جَاۤءَ أَحَدَهُمُ ٱلۡمَوۡتُ قَالَ رَبِّ ٱرۡجِعُونِ ۝٩٩ ḥattā idhā jāa aḥadahumu l-mawtu qāla rabbi ir'jiʿūn When death comes to one of them, he cries, ‘My Lord, let me retur
