123 كَذَّبَتۡ عَادٌ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِینَ ۝١٢٣ kadhabat ʿādun l-mur'salīn The people of Ad, too, called the messengers liars 124 إِذۡ قَالَ لَهُمۡ أَخُوهُمۡ هُودٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ ۝١٢٤ idh qāla lahum akhūhum hūdun alā tattaqūn Their brother Hud said to them, ‘Will you not be mindful of God 125 إِنِّی لَكُمۡ رَسُولٌ أَمِینࣱ ۝١٢٥ innī lakum rasūlun amīnu I am a faithful messenger sent to you 126 فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِیعُونِ ۝١٢٦ fa-ittaqū l-laha wa-aṭīʿūn be mindful of God and obey me
127 وَمَاۤ أَسۡءَلُكُمۡ عَلَیۡهِ مِنۡ أَجۡرٍۖ إِنۡ أَجۡرِیَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَـٰلَمِینَ ۝١٢٧ wamā asalukum ʿalayhi min ajrin in ajriya illā ʿalā rabbi l-ʿālamīn I ask no reward of you, for my only reward is with the Lord of the Worlds
128 أَتَبۡنُونَ بِكُلِّ رِیعٍ ءَایَةࣰ تَعۡبَثُونَ ۝١٢٨ atabnūna bikulli rīʿin āyatan taʿbathūn How can you be so vain that you set up monuments on every high place 129 وَتَتَّخِذُونَ مَصَانِعَ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَخۡلُدُونَ ۝١٢٩ watattakhidhūna maṣāniʿa laʿallakum takhludūn Do you build fortresses because you hope to be immortal 130 وَإِذَا بَطَشۡتُم بَطَشۡتُمۡ جَبَّارِینَ ۝١٣٠ wa-idhā baṭashtum baṭashtum jabbārīn Why do you act like tyrants whenever you attack someone 131 فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِیعُونِ ۝١٣١ fa-ittaqū l-laha wa-aṭīʿūn Be mindful of God and obey me
