140 وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلۡعَزِیزُ ٱلرَّحِیمُ ۝١٤٠ wa-inna rabbaka lahuwa l-ʿazīzu l-raḥīm your Lord alone is the Almighty, the Merciful 141 كَذَّبَتۡ ثَمُودُ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِینَ ۝١٤١ kadhabat thamūdu l-mur'salīn The people of Thamud, too, called the messengers liars 142 إِذۡ قَالَ لَهُمۡ أَخُوهُمۡ صَـٰلِحٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ ۝١٤٢ idh qāla lahum akhūhum ṣāliḥun alā tattaqūn Their brother Salih said to them, ‘Will you not be mindful of God 143 إِنِّی لَكُمۡ رَسُولٌ أَمِینࣱ ۝١٤٣ innī lakum rasūlun amīnu I am a faithful messenger to you
144 فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِیعُونِ ۝١٤٤ fa-ittaqū l-laha wa-aṭīʿūn be mindful of God and obey me
145 وَمَاۤ أَسۡءَلُكُمۡ عَلَیۡهِ مِنۡ أَجۡرٍۖ إِنۡ أَجۡرِیَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَـٰلَمِینَ ۝١٤٥ wamā asalukum ʿalayhi min ajrin in ajriya illā ʿalā rabbi l-ʿālamīn I ask no reward from you, for my only reward is with the Lord of the Worlds 146 أَتُتۡرَكُونَ فِی مَا هَـٰهُنَاۤ ءَامِنِینَ ۝١٤٦ atut'rakūna fī mā hāhunā āminīn [Do you think] you will be left secure for ever in what you have here 147 فِی جَنَّـٰتࣲ وَعُیُونࣲ ۝١٤٧ fī jannātin waʿuyūni gardens, springs 148 وَزُرُوعࣲ وَنَخۡلࣲ طَلۡعُهَا هَضِیمࣱ ۝١٤٨ wazurūʿin wanakhlin ṭalʿuhā haḍīmu fields, palm trees laden with fruit
