Verse 26:177 in Context

173 وَأَمۡطَرۡنَا عَلَیۡهِم مَّطَرࣰاۖ فَسَاۤءَ مَطَرُ ٱلۡمُنذَرِینَ ۝١٧٣ wa-amṭarnā ʿalayhim maṭaran fasāa maṭaru l-mundharīn and poured a rain of destruction down upon them. How dreadful that rain was for those who had been forewarned 174 إِنَّ فِی ذَ ٰلِكَ لَءَایَةࣰۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكۡثَرُهُم مُّؤۡمِنِینَ ۝١٧٤ inna fī dhālika laāyatan wamā kāna aktharuhum mu'minīn There truly is a sign in this, though most of them will not believe 175 وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلۡعَزِیزُ ٱلرَّحِیمُ ۝١٧٥ wa-inna rabbaka lahuwa l-ʿazīzu l-raḥīm your Lord alone is the Almighty, the Merciful 176 كَذَّبَ أَصۡحَـٰبُ لۡءَیۡكَةِ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِینَ ۝١٧٦ kadhaba aṣḥābu al'aykati l-mur'salīn The forest-dwellers, too, called the messengers liars
177 إِذۡ قَالَ لَهُمۡ شُعَیۡبٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ ۝١٧٧ idh qāla lahum shuʿaybun alā tattaqūn Shuayb said to them, ‘Will you not be mindful of God
178 إِنِّی لَكُمۡ رَسُولٌ أَمِینࣱ ۝١٧٨ innī lakum rasūlun amīnu I am a faithful messenger to you 179 فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِیعُونِ ۝١٧٩ fa-ittaqū l-laha wa-aṭīʿūn be mindful of God and obey me 180 وَمَاۤ أَسۡءَلُكُمۡ عَلَیۡهِ مِنۡ أَجۡرٍۖ إِنۡ أَجۡرِیَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَـٰلَمِینَ ۝١٨٠ wamā asalukum ʿalayhi min ajrin in ajriya illā ʿalā rabbi l-ʿālamīn I ask no reward of you, for my only reward is with the Lord of the Worlds 181 ۞ أَوۡفُوا۟ ٱلۡكَیۡلَ وَلَا تَكُونُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلۡمُخۡسِرِینَ ۝١٨١ awfū l-kayla walā takūnū mina l-mukh'sirīn Give full measure: do not sell others short
