1 ۞ یَـٰۤأَیُّهَا ٱلنَّبِیُّ ٱتَّقِ ٱللَّهَ وَلَا تُطِعِ ٱلۡكَـٰفِرِینَ وَٱلۡمُنَـٰفِقِینَۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ عَلِیمًا حَكِیمࣰا ۝١ yāayyuhā l-nabiyu ittaqi l-laha walā tuṭiʿi l-kāfirīna wal-munāfiqīna inna l-laha kāna ʿalīman ḥakīma Prophet, be mindful of God and do not give in to the disbelievers and the hypocrites: God is all knowing, all wise
2 وَٱتَّبِعۡ مَا یُوحَىٰۤ إِلَیۡكَ مِن رَّبِّكَۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ خَبِیرࣰا ۝٢ wa-ittabiʿ mā yūḥā ilayka min rabbika inna l-laha kāna bimā taʿmalūna khabīra Follow what your Lord reveals to you: God is well aware of all your actions 3 وَتَوَكَّلۡ عَلَى ٱللَّهِۚ وَكَفَىٰ بِٱللَّهِ وَكِیلࣰا ۝٣ watawakkal ʿalā l-lahi wakafā bil-lahi wakīla Put your trust in God: God is enough to trust 4 مَّا جَعَلَ ٱللَّهُ لِرَجُلࣲ مِّن قَلۡبَیۡنِ فِی جَوۡفِهِۦۚ وَمَا جَعَلَ أَزۡوَ ٰجَكُمُ ٱلَّـٰۤءِی تُظَـٰهِرُونَ مِنۡهُنَّ أُمَّهَـٰتِكُمۡۚ وَمَا جَعَلَ أَدۡعِیَاۤءَكُمۡ أَبۡنَاۤءَكُمۡۚ ذَ ٰلِكُمۡ قَوۡلُكُم بِأَفۡوَ ٰهِكُمۡۖ وَٱللَّهُ یَقُولُ ٱلۡحَقَّ وَهُوَ یَهۡدِی ٱلسَّبِیلَ ۝٤ mā jaʿala l-lahu lirajulin min qalbayni fī jawfihi wamā jaʿala azwājakumu allāī tuẓāhirūna min'hunna ummahātikum wamā jaʿala adʿiyāakum abnāakum dhālikum qawlukum bi-afwāhikum wal-lahu yaqūlu l-ḥaqa wahuwa yahdī l-sabīl God does not put two hearts within a man’s breast. He does not turn the wives you reject and liken to your mothers’ backs into your real mothers; nor does He make your adopted sons into real sons. These are only words from your mouths, while God speaks the truth and guides people to the right path 5 ٱدۡعُوهُمۡ لِءَابَاۤىِٕهِمۡ هُوَ أَقۡسَطُ عِندَ ٱللَّهِۚ فَإِن لَّمۡ تَعۡلَمُوۤا۟ ءَابَاۤءَهُمۡ فَإِخۡوَ ٰنُكُمۡ فِی ٱلدِّینِ وَمَوَ ٰلِیكُمۡۚ وَلَیۡسَ عَلَیۡكُمۡ جُنَاحࣱ فِیمَاۤ أَخۡطَأۡتُم بِهِۦ وَلَـٰكِن مَّا تَعَمَّدَتۡ قُلُوبُكُمۡۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ غَفُورࣰا رَّحِیمًا ۝٥ id'ʿūhum liābāihim huwa aqsaṭu ʿinda l-lahi fa-in lam taʿlamū ābāahum fa-ikh'wānukum fī l-dīni wamawālīkum walaysa ʿalaykum junāḥun fīmā akhṭatum bihi walākin mā taʿammadat qulūbukum wakāna l-lahu ghafūran raḥīma Name your adopted sons after their real fathers: this is more equitable in God’s eyes––if you do not know who their fathers are [they are your] ‘brothers-in-religion’ and proteges. You will not be blamed if you make a mistake, only for what your hearts deliberately intend; God is most forgiving and merciful
