Verse 44:24 in Context

20 وَإِنِّی عُذۡتُ بِرَبِّی وَرَبِّكُمۡ أَن تَرۡجُمُونِ ۝٢٠ wa-innī ʿudh'tu birabbī warabbikum an tarjumūn I seek refuge in my Lord and yours against your insults 21 وَإِن لَّمۡ تُؤۡمِنُوا۟ لِی فَٱعۡتَزِلُونِ ۝٢١ wa-in lam tu'minū lī fa-iʿ'tazilūn If you do not believe me, just let me be.’ 22 فَدَعَا رَبَّهُۥۤ أَنَّ هَـٰۤؤُلَاۤءِ قَوۡمࣱ مُّجۡرِمُونَ ۝٢٢ fadaʿā rabbahu anna hāulāi qawmun muj'rimūn [Moses] cried to his Lord, ‘These people are evildoers!’ 23 فَأَسۡرِ بِعِبَادِی لَیۡلًا إِنَّكُم مُّتَّبَعُونَ ۝٢٣ fa-asri biʿibādī laylan innakum muttabaʿūn [God replied], ‘Escape in the night with My servants, for you are sure to be pursued
24 وَٱتۡرُكِ ٱلۡبَحۡرَ رَهۡوًاۖ إِنَّهُمۡ جُندࣱ مُّغۡرَقُونَ ۝٢٤ wa-ut'ruki l-baḥra rahwan innahum jundun mugh'raqūn Leave the sea behind you parted and their army will be drowned.’
25 كَمۡ تَرَكُوا۟ مِن جَنَّـٰتࣲ وَعُیُونࣲ ۝٢٥ kam tarakū min jannātin waʿuyūni Many a garden and spring they left behind 26 وَزُرُوعࣲ وَمَقَامࣲ كَرِیمࣲ ۝٢٦ wazurūʿin wamaqāmin karīmi many a cornfield and noble building 27 وَنَعۡمَةࣲ كَانُوا۟ فِیهَا فَـٰكِهِینَ ۝٢٧ wanaʿmatin kānū fīhā fākihīn many a thing in which they had delighted 28 كَذَ ٰلِكَۖ وَأَوۡرَثۡنَـٰهَا قَوۡمًا ءَاخَرِینَ ۝٢٨ kadhālika wa-awrathnāhā qawman ākharīn We gave these to another people to inherit
