Verse 75:36 in Context

32
وَلَـٰكِن كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ ٣٢
walākin kadhaba watawall
but denied the truth and turned away
33
ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ إِلَىٰۤ أَهۡلِهِۦ یَتَمَطَّىٰۤ ٣٣
thumma dhahaba ilā ahlihi yatamaṭṭ
walking back to his people with a conceited swagger
34
أَوۡلَىٰ لَكَ فَأَوۡلَىٰ ٣٤
awlā laka fa-awl
Closer and closer it comes to you
35
ثُمَّ أَوۡلَىٰ لَكَ فَأَوۡلَىٰۤ ٣٥
thumma awlā laka fa-awl
Closer and closer still
36
أَیَحۡسَبُ ٱلۡإِنسَـٰنُ أَن یُتۡرَكَ سُدًى ٣٦
ayaḥsabu l-insānu an yut'raka suda
Does man think he will be left alone
37
أَلَمۡ یَكُ نُطۡفَةࣰ مِّن مَّنِیࣲّ یُمۡنَىٰ ٣٧
alam yaku nuṭ'fatan min maniyyin yum'n
Was he not just a drop of spilt-out sperm
38
ثُمَّ كَانَ عَلَقَةࣰ فَخَلَقَ فَسَوَّىٰ ٣٨
thumma kāna ʿalaqatan fakhalaqa fasaww
which became a clinging form, which God shaped in due proportion
39
فَجَعَلَ مِنۡهُ ٱلزَّوۡجَیۡنِ ٱلذَّكَرَ وَٱلۡأُنثَىٰۤ ٣٩
fajaʿala min'hu l-zawjayni l-dhakara wal-unth
fashioning from it the two sexes, male and female
40
أَلَیۡسَ ذَ ٰلِكَ بِقَـٰدِرٍ عَلَىٰۤ أَن یُحۡـِۧیَ ٱلۡمَوۡتَىٰ ٤٠
alaysa dhālika biqādirin ʿalā an yuḥ'yiya l-mawt
Does He who can do this not have the power to bring the dead back to life
