The Book on Salat (Prayer) — Hadith #354
وَرُوِيَ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَنَّهُ قَالَ
" إِذَا وُضِعَ الْعَشَاءُ وَأُقِيمَتِ الصَّلاَةُ فَابْدَءُوا بِالْعَشَاءِ " . قَالَ وَتَعَشَّى ابْنُ عُمَرَ وَهُوَ يَسْمَعُ قِرَاءَةَ الإِمَامِ . قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا بِذَلِكَ هَنَّادٌ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَةُ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ .
Mu'allaq (suspended chain): the early portion of the chain is intentionally omitted in the original text.
the Prophet said: “When the supper is presented and the Iqamah is called for Salat, then begin with the supper.”
