Mishkat al-Masabih:Knowledge:Hadith 227
وَعَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ قَالَ: إِنَّ النَّبِيَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنِ الْأُغْلُوطَاتِ. رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُد

Mu’awiya said that the Prophet forbade the discussion of thorny questions. Abu Dawud transmitted it.
