The Book of Miscellany — Hadith #1651
وعن ابن مسعود، رضي الله عنه ، أن رجلاً أصاب من امرأة قبلة، فأتى النبي، صلى الله عليه وسلم، فأخبره، فأنزل الله تعالى: { وأقم الصلاة طرفي النهار وزلفاً من الليل إن الحسنات يذهبن السيئات } ((هود:114)) فقال الرجل: ألي هذا يا رسول الله؟ قال
" لجميع أمتى كلهم" ((متفق عليه)) .
A man kissed a woman and he came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and made a mention of that to him. It was (on this occasion) that this Ayah was revealed:”And perform As-Salat (Iqamat-As-Salat), at the two ends of the day and in some hours of the night .
