حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي،
خَالِدٍ عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، قَالَ دَخَلْنَا عَلَى خَبَّابٍ وَقَدِ اكْتَوَى سَبْعَ كَيَّاتٍ فِي بَطْنِهِ
فَقَالَ لَوْمَا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم نَهَانَا أَنْ نَدْعُوَ بِالْمَوْتِ لَدَعَوْتُ بِهِ .
I visited Khabbab who had seven cauteries on his stomach and he said: Had Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) not forbidden us to call for death, I would have done so.
