35:1

ٱلۡحَمۡدُ لِلَّهِ فَاطِرِ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ جَاعِلِ ٱلۡمَلَـٰۤىِٕكَةِ رُسُلًا أُو۟لِیۤ أَجۡنِحَةࣲ مَّثۡنَىٰ وَثُلَـٰثَ وَرُبَـٰعَۚ یَزِیدُ فِی ٱلۡخَلۡقِ مَا یَشَاۤءُۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَیۡءࣲ قَدِیرࣱ ۝١

Bilal Muhammad 2018

Praise God, from Whom came the origins of the heavens and the earth. Who made the angels messengers with wings, two, three, or four pairs. He adds to creation as He pleases, for God has power over all things

al-ḥamdu lillahi fāṭiri l-samāwāti wal-arḍi jāʿili l-malāikati rusulan ulī ajniḥatin mathnā wathulātha warubāʿa yazīdu fī l-khalqi mā yashāu inna l-laha ʿalā kulli shayin qadīru

35:2

مَّا یَفۡتَحِ ٱللَّهُ لِلنَّاسِ مِن رَّحۡمَةࣲ فَلَا مُمۡسِكَ لَهَاۖ وَمَا یُمۡسِكۡ فَلَا مُرۡسِلَ لَهُۥ مِنۢ بَعۡدِهِۦۚ وَهُوَ ٱلۡعَزِیزُ ٱلۡحَكِیمُ ۝٢

What God, out of his mercy, bestows on humanity none can withhold. What He does withhold none can grant besides Him, and He is the Exalted in Power, Full of Wisdom

mā yaftaḥi l-lahu lilnnāsi min raḥmatin falā mum'sika lahā wamā yum'sik falā mur'sila lahu min baʿdihi wahuwa l-ʿazīzu l-ḥakīm

35:3

یَـٰۤأَیُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ ٱذۡكُرُوا۟ نِعۡمَتَ ٱللَّهِ عَلَیۡكُمۡۚ هَلۡ مِنۡ خَـٰلِقٍ غَیۡرُ ٱللَّهِ یَرۡزُقُكُم مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَاۤءِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ لَاۤ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَۖ فَأَنَّىٰ تُؤۡفَكُونَ ۝٣

O humanity, call to mind the grace of God to you, is there a creator other than God, to give you sustenance from heaven or earth? There is no god but He. How then are you deluded from the truth

yāayyuhā l-nāsu udh'kurū niʿ'mata l-lahi ʿalaykum hal min khāliqin ghayru l-lahi yarzuqukum mina l-samāi wal-arḍi lā ilāha illā huwa fa-annā tu'fakūn

35:4

وَإِن یُكَذِّبُوكَ فَقَدۡ كُذِّبَتۡ رُسُلࣱ مِّن قَبۡلِكَۚ وَإِلَى ٱللَّهِ تُرۡجَعُ ٱلۡأُمُورُ ۝٤

And if they reject you, so were messengers rejected before you. All affairs go back to God for decision

wa-in yukadhibūka faqad kudhibat rusulun min qablika wa-ilā l-lahi tur'jaʿu l-umūr

35:5

یَـٰۤأَیُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ إِنَّ وَعۡدَ ٱللَّهِ حَقࣱّۖ فَلَا تَغُرَّنَّكُمُ ٱلۡحَیَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنۡیَا وَلَا یَغُرَّنَّكُم بِٱللَّهِ ٱلۡغَرُورُ ۝٥

Bilal Muhammad 2018

O humanity, certainly the promise of God is true. So do not let this present life deceive you, nor let the chief deceiver delude you about God

yāayyuhā l-nāsu inna waʿda l-lahi ḥaqqun falā taghurrannakumu l-ḥayatu l-dun'yā walā yaghurrannakum bil-lahi l-gharūr

35:6

إِنَّ ٱلشَّیۡطَـٰنَ لَكُمۡ عَدُوࣱّ فَٱتَّخِذُوهُ عَدُوًّاۚ إِنَّمَا یَدۡعُوا۟ حِزۡبَهُۥ لِیَكُونُوا۟ مِنۡ أَصۡحَـٰبِ ٱلسَّعِیرِ ۝٦

Bilal Muhammad 2018

Indeed Satan is an enemy to you. So treat him as an enemy. He only invites his adherents so that they may become companions of the blazing fire

inna l-shayṭāna lakum ʿaduwwun fa-ittakhidhūhu ʿaduwwan innamā yadʿū ḥiz'bahu liyakūnū min aṣḥābi l-saʿīr

35:7

ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ لَهُمۡ عَذَابࣱ شَدِیدࣱۖ وَٱلَّذِینَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ لَهُم مَّغۡفِرَةࣱ وَأَجۡرࣱ كَبِیرٌ ۝٧

For those who reject God is a terrible penalty, but for those who believe and work righteous deeds is forgiveness, and a magnificent reward

alladhīna kafarū lahum ʿadhābun shadīdun wa-alladhīna āmanū waʿamilū l-ṣāliḥāti lahum maghfiratun wa-ajrun kabīru

35:8

أَفَمَن زُیِّنَ لَهُۥ سُوۤءُ عَمَلِهِۦ فَرَءَاهُ حَسَنࣰاۖ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ یُضِلُّ مَن یَشَاۤءُ وَیَهۡدِی مَن یَشَاۤءُۖ فَلَا تَذۡهَبۡ نَفۡسُكَ عَلَیۡهِمۡ حَسَرَ ٰتٍۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلِیمُۢ بِمَا یَصۡنَعُونَ ۝٨

Then is he, to whom the evil of his conduct is made alluring, so that he looks upon it as good, is he equal to one who is rightly guided? For God leaves to stray whom He wills, and guides whom He wills. So do not let your heart go out to them with regret, for God knows well all that they do

afaman zuyyina lahu sūu ʿamalihi faraāhu ḥasanan fa-inna l-laha yuḍillu man yashāu wayahdī man yashāu falā tadhhab nafsuka ʿalayhim ḥasarātin inna l-laha ʿalīmun bimā yaṣnaʿūn

35:9

وَٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِیۤ أَرۡسَلَ ٱلرِّیَـٰحَ فَتُثِیرُ سَحَابࣰا فَسُقۡنَـٰهُ إِلَىٰ بَلَدࣲ مَّیِّتࣲ فَأَحۡیَیۡنَا بِهِ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ بَعۡدَ مَوۡتِهَاۚ كَذَ ٰلِكَ ٱلنُّشُورُ ۝٩

It is God Who sends the winds, so that they raise up the clouds, and We drive them to a land that is dead, and revive the earth with it after its death. Even then the resurrection will come

wal-lahu alladhī arsala l-riyāḥa fatuthīru saḥāban fasuq'nāhu ilā baladin mayyitin fa-aḥyaynā bihi l-arḍa baʿda mawtihā kadhālika l-nushūr

35:10

مَن كَانَ یُرِیدُ ٱلۡعِزَّةَ فَلِلَّهِ ٱلۡعِزَّةُ جَمِیعًاۚ إِلَیۡهِ یَصۡعَدُ ٱلۡكَلِمُ ٱلطَّیِّبُ وَٱلۡعَمَلُ ٱلصَّـٰلِحُ یَرۡفَعُهُۥۚ وَٱلَّذِینَ یَمۡكُرُونَ ٱلسَّیِّءَاتِ لَهُمۡ عَذَابࣱ شَدِیدࣱۖ وَمَكۡرُ أُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ هُوَ یَبُورُ ۝١٠

If any seek praise and power, to God belong all praise and power. To Him mounts up all words of purity. It is He Who exalts each deed of righteousness. Those who hatch harmful plots, for them is a penalty terrible, and the plotting of such will be void of success

man kāna yurīdu l-ʿizata falillahi l-ʿizatu jamīʿan ilayhi yaṣʿadu l-kalimu l-ṭayibu wal-ʿamalu l-ṣāliḥu yarfaʿuhu wa-alladhīna yamkurūna l-sayiāti lahum ʿadhābun shadīdun wamakru ulāika huwa yabūr

35:11

وَٱللَّهُ خَلَقَكُم مِّن تُرَابࣲ ثُمَّ مِن نُّطۡفَةࣲ ثُمَّ جَعَلَكُمۡ أَزۡوَ ٰجࣰاۚ وَمَا تَحۡمِلُ مِنۡ أُنثَىٰ وَلَا تَضَعُ إِلَّا بِعِلۡمِهِۦۚ وَمَا یُعَمَّرُ مِن مُّعَمَّرࣲ وَلَا یُنقَصُ مِنۡ عُمُرِهِۦۤ إِلَّا فِی كِتَـٰبٍۚ إِنَّ ذَ ٰلِكَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ یَسِیرࣱ ۝١١

And God created you from dust, then from a zygote, then He made you in pairs, and no female conceives nor delivers, except with His knowledge, nor is a person long-lived, granted length of days, nor is a part cut off from his life, except if it is in a decree ordained. All this is easy for God

wal-lahu khalaqakum min turābin thumma min nuṭ'fatin thumma jaʿalakum azwājan wamā taḥmilu min unthā walā taḍaʿu illā biʿil'mihi wamā yuʿammaru min muʿammarin walā yunqaṣu min ʿumurihi illā fī kitābin inna dhālika ʿalā l-lahi yasīru

35:12

وَمَا یَسۡتَوِی ٱلۡبَحۡرَانِ هَـٰذَا عَذۡبࣱ فُرَاتࣱ سَاۤىِٕغࣱ شَرَابُهُۥ وَهَـٰذَا مِلۡحٌ أُجَاجࣱۖ وَمِن كُلࣲّ تَأۡكُلُونَ لَحۡمࣰا طَرِیࣰّا وَتَسۡتَخۡرِجُونَ حِلۡیَةࣰ تَلۡبَسُونَهَاۖ وَتَرَى ٱلۡفُلۡكَ فِیهِ مَوَاخِرَ لِتَبۡتَغُوا۟ مِن فَضۡلِهِۦ وَلَعَلَّكُمۡ تَشۡكُرُونَ ۝١٢

Nor are the two bodies of flowing water alike, the one palatable, sweet, and pleasant to drink, and the other, salty and bitter. Yet from each kind of water do you eat meat fresh and tender, and you extract ornaments to wear, and you see the ships in it that plow the waves, so that you may seek the bounty of God, and that you may be grateful

wamā yastawī l-baḥrāni hādhā ʿadhbun furātun sāighun sharābuhu wahādhā mil'ḥun ujājun wamin kullin takulūna laḥman ṭariyyan watastakhrijūna ḥil'yatan talbasūnahā watarā l-ful'ka fīhi mawākhira litabtaghū min faḍlihi walaʿallakum tashkurūn

35:13

یُولِجُ ٱلَّیۡلَ فِی ٱلنَّهَارِ وَیُولِجُ ٱلنَّهَارَ فِی ٱلَّیۡلِ وَسَخَّرَ ٱلشَّمۡسَ وَٱلۡقَمَرَۖ كُلࣱّ یَجۡرِی لِأَجَلࣲ مُّسَمࣰّىۚ ذَ ٰلِكُمُ ٱللَّهُ رَبُّكُمۡ لَهُ ٱلۡمُلۡكُۚ وَٱلَّذِینَ تَدۡعُونَ مِن دُونِهِۦ مَا یَمۡلِكُونَ مِن قِطۡمِیرٍ ۝١٣

He merges night into day, and He merges day into night, and He has subjected the Sun and the Moon to His law. Each one runs its course for a term appointed. Such is God your Lord. To Him belongs all control, and those whom you invoke besides Him have no power in the least

yūliju al-layla fī l-nahāri wayūliju l-nahāra fī al-layli wasakhara l-shamsa wal-qamara kullun yajrī li-ajalin musamman dhālikumu l-lahu rabbukum lahu l-mul'ku wa-alladhīna tadʿūna min dūnihi mā yamlikūna min qiṭ'mīri

35:14

إِن تَدۡعُوهُمۡ لَا یَسۡمَعُوا۟ دُعَاۤءَكُمۡ وَلَوۡ سَمِعُوا۟ مَا ٱسۡتَجَابُوا۟ لَكُمۡۖ وَیَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِیَـٰمَةِ یَكۡفُرُونَ بِشِرۡكِكُمۡۚ وَلَا یُنَبِّئُكَ مِثۡلُ خَبِیرࣲ ۝١٤

Bilal Muhammad 2018

If you invoke them, they will not listen to your call, and if they were to listen, they could not answer you. On the Day of Accountability, they will reject your partnership, and none can inform you like the One who is acquainted with all things

in tadʿūhum lā yasmaʿū duʿāakum walaw samiʿū mā is'tajābū lakum wayawma l-qiyāmati yakfurūna bishir'kikum walā yunabbi-uka mith'lu khabīri

35:15

۞ یَـٰۤأَیُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ أَنتُمُ ٱلۡفُقَرَاۤءُ إِلَى ٱللَّهِۖ وَٱللَّهُ هُوَ ٱلۡغَنِیُّ ٱلۡحَمِیدُ ۝١٥

Bilal Muhammad 2018

O you people, it is you who have need of God, but God is the One free of all wants, worthy of all praise

yāayyuhā l-nāsu antumu l-fuqarāu ilā l-lahi wal-lahu huwa l-ghaniyu l-ḥamīd

35:16

إِن یَشَأۡ یُذۡهِبۡكُمۡ وَیَأۡتِ بِخَلۡقࣲ جَدِیدࣲ ۝١٦

If He so pleased, He could remove you and bring about a new creation

in yasha yudh'hib'kum wayati bikhalqin jadīdi

35:17

وَمَا ذَ ٰلِكَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ بِعَزِیزࣲ ۝١٧

Nor is that difficult for God

wamā dhālika ʿalā l-lahi biʿazīzi

35:18

وَلَا تَزِرُ وَازِرَةࣱ وِزۡرَ أُخۡرَىٰۚ وَإِن تَدۡعُ مُثۡقَلَةٌ إِلَىٰ حِمۡلِهَا لَا یُحۡمَلۡ مِنۡهُ شَیۡءࣱ وَلَوۡ كَانَ ذَا قُرۡبَىٰۤۗ إِنَّمَا تُنذِرُ ٱلَّذِینَ یَخۡشَوۡنَ رَبَّهُم بِٱلۡغَیۡبِ وَأَقَامُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَۚ وَمَن تَزَكَّىٰ فَإِنَّمَا یَتَزَكَّىٰ لِنَفۡسِهِۦۚ وَإِلَى ٱللَّهِ ٱلۡمَصِیرُ ۝١٨

Bilal Muhammad 2018

Nor can a bearer of burdens bear another’s burdens. If one heavily laden should call another to his load, not the least portion of it can be carried by the other, even if they are nearly related. You can only advise those who fear their Lord unseen, and establish prayer. And whoever purifies himself does so for the benefit of his own soul, and the destination is to God

walā taziru wāziratun wiz'ra ukh'rā wa-in tadʿu muth'qalatun ilā ḥim'lihā lā yuḥ'mal min'hu shayon walaw kāna dhā qur'bā innamā tundhiru alladhīna yakhshawna rabbahum bil-ghaybi wa-aqāmū l-ṣalata waman tazakkā fa-innamā yatazakkā linafsihi wa-ilā l-lahi l-maṣīr

35:19

وَمَا یَسۡتَوِی ٱلۡأَعۡمَىٰ وَٱلۡبَصِیرُ ۝١٩

The blind and the seeing are not alike

wamā yastawī l-aʿmā wal-baṣīr

35:20

وَلَا ٱلظُّلُمَـٰتُ وَلَا ٱلنُّورُ ۝٢٠

Nor are the depths of darkness and the light

walā l-ẓulumātu walā l-nūr

35:21

وَلَا ٱلظِّلُّ وَلَا ٱلۡحَرُورُ ۝٢١

Nor are the shade and the heat of the sun

walā l-ẓilu walā l-ḥarūr

35:22

وَمَا یَسۡتَوِی ٱلۡأَحۡیَاۤءُ وَلَا ٱلۡأَمۡوَ ٰتُۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ یُسۡمِعُ مَن یَشَاۤءُۖ وَمَاۤ أَنتَ بِمُسۡمِعࣲ مَّن فِی ٱلۡقُبُورِ ۝٢٢

Nor are those alike that are living and those who are dead. God can make any hear whom He wills to hear, but you cannot make those to hear who are in graves

wamā yastawī l-aḥyāu walā l-amwātu inna l-laha yus'miʿu man yashāu wamā anta bimus'miʿin man fī l-qubūr

35:23

إِنۡ أَنتَ إِلَّا نَذِیرٌ ۝٢٣

You are no other than a warner

in anta illā nadhīru

35:24

إِنَّاۤ أَرۡسَلۡنَـٰكَ بِٱلۡحَقِّ بَشِیرࣰا وَنَذِیرࣰاۚ وَإِن مِّنۡ أُمَّةٍ إِلَّا خَلَا فِیهَا نَذِیرࣱ ۝٢٤

Bilal Muhammad 2018

Indeed We have sent you in truth as a bearer of good news, and as a warner, and there never were a people without a warner having lived among them

innā arsalnāka bil-ḥaqi bashīran wanadhīran wa-in min ummatin illā khalā fīhā nadhīru

35:25

وَإِن یُكَذِّبُوكَ فَقَدۡ كَذَّبَ ٱلَّذِینَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡ جَاۤءَتۡهُمۡ رُسُلُهُم بِٱلۡبَیِّنَـٰتِ وَبِٱلزُّبُرِ وَبِٱلۡكِتَـٰبِ ٱلۡمُنِیرِ ۝٢٥

Bilal Muhammad 2018

And if they reject you, so did their predecessors, to whom came messengers with clear signs, books of prophecies, and the book of enlightenment

wa-in yukadhibūka faqad kadhaba alladhīna min qablihim jāathum rusuluhum bil-bayināti wabil-zuburi wabil-kitābi l-munīr

35:26

ثُمَّ أَخَذۡتُ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ۖ فَكَیۡفَ كَانَ نَكِیرِ ۝٢٦

In the end, I punished those who rejected faith, and how terrible was My rejection of them

thumma akhadhtu alladhīna kafarū fakayfa kāna nakīr

35:27

أَلَمۡ تَرَ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ أَنزَلَ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَاۤءِ مَاۤءࣰ فَأَخۡرَجۡنَا بِهِۦ ثَمَرَ ٰتࣲ مُّخۡتَلِفًا أَلۡوَ ٰنُهَاۚ وَمِنَ ٱلۡجِبَالِ جُدَدُۢ بِیضࣱ وَحُمۡرࣱ مُّخۡتَلِفٌ أَلۡوَ ٰنُهَا وَغَرَابِیبُ سُودࣱ ۝٢٧

Do you not see that God sends down rain from the sky? With it We bring out produce of various colors. And in the mountains are tracts white and red, of various shades of color, and intensely black

alam tara anna l-laha anzala mina l-samāi māan fa-akhrajnā bihi thamarātin mukh'talifan alwānuhā wamina l-jibāli judadun bīḍun waḥum'run mukh'talifun alwānuhā wagharābību sūdu

35:28

وَمِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ وَٱلدَّوَاۤبِّ وَٱلۡأَنۡعَـٰمِ مُخۡتَلِفٌ أَلۡوَ ٰنُهُۥ كَذَ ٰلِكَۗ إِنَّمَا یَخۡشَى ٱللَّهَ مِنۡ عِبَادِهِ ٱلۡعُلَمَـٰۤؤُا۟ۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَزِیزٌ غَفُورٌ ۝٢٨

And among human beings, and crawling creatures, and livestock, are those of various colors. Those who are indeed conscious of God among His servants have knowledge, for God is Exalted in Might, Oft-Forgiving

wamina l-nāsi wal-dawābi wal-anʿāmi mukh'talifun alwānuhu kadhālika innamā yakhshā l-laha min ʿibādihi l-ʿulamāu inna l-laha ʿazīzun ghafūru

35:29

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِینَ یَتۡلُونَ كِتَـٰبَ ٱللَّهِ وَأَقَامُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَأَنفَقُوا۟ مِمَّا رَزَقۡنَـٰهُمۡ سِرࣰّا وَعَلَانِیَةࣰ یَرۡجُونَ تِجَـٰرَةࣰ لَّن تَبُورَ ۝٢٩

Bilal Muhammad 2018

Those who recite the Book of God, establish prayer, and give out of what We have provided for them, secretly and openly, hope for a deal that will never fail

inna alladhīna yatlūna kitāba l-lahi wa-aqāmū l-ṣalata wa-anfaqū mimmā razaqnāhum sirran waʿalāniyatan yarjūna tijāratan lan tabūr

35:30

لِیُوَفِّیَهُمۡ أُجُورَهُمۡ وَیَزِیدَهُم مِّن فَضۡلِهِۦۤۚ إِنَّهُۥ غَفُورࣱ شَكُورࣱ ۝٣٠

Bilal Muhammad 2018

For He will pay them their due, no, He will give them more out of His bounty, for He is Oft-Forgiving, most ready to appreciate

liyuwaffiyahum ujūrahum wayazīdahum min faḍlihi innahu ghafūrun shakūru

35:31

وَٱلَّذِیۤ أَوۡحَیۡنَاۤ إِلَیۡكَ مِنَ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبِ هُوَ ٱلۡحَقُّ مُصَدِّقࣰا لِّمَا بَیۡنَ یَدَیۡهِۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ بِعِبَادِهِۦ لَخَبِیرُۢ بَصِیرࣱ ۝٣١

That which We have revealed to you of the Book is the truth reflecting the truth of what was revealed before it, for God is surely, to His servants, well acquainted and fully observant

wa-alladhī awḥaynā ilayka mina l-kitābi huwa l-ḥaqu muṣaddiqan limā bayna yadayhi inna l-laha biʿibādihi lakhabīrun baṣīru

35:32

ثُمَّ أَوۡرَثۡنَا ٱلۡكِتَـٰبَ ٱلَّذِینَ ٱصۡطَفَیۡنَا مِنۡ عِبَادِنَاۖ فَمِنۡهُمۡ ظَالِمࣱ لِّنَفۡسِهِۦ وَمِنۡهُم مُّقۡتَصِدࣱ وَمِنۡهُمۡ سَابِقُۢ بِٱلۡخَیۡرَ ٰتِ بِإِذۡنِ ٱللَّهِۚ ذَ ٰلِكَ هُوَ ٱلۡفَضۡلُ ٱلۡكَبِیرُ ۝٣٢

And We have given the Book for inheritance, to those of Our servants as We chose, but there are among them, some who wrong their own souls, some who follow a middle course, and some who are, by God's permission, foremost in good deeds, and that is the highest blessing

thumma awrathnā l-kitāba alladhīna iṣ'ṭafaynā min ʿibādinā famin'hum ẓālimun linafsihi wamin'hum muq'taṣidun wamin'hum sābiqun bil-khayrāti bi-idh'ni l-lahi dhālika huwa l-faḍlu l-kabīr

35:33

جَنَّـٰتُ عَدۡنࣲ یَدۡخُلُونَهَا یُحَلَّوۡنَ فِیهَا مِنۡ أَسَاوِرَ مِن ذَهَبࣲ وَلُؤۡلُؤࣰاۖ وَلِبَاسُهُمۡ فِیهَا حَرِیرࣱ ۝٣٣

They will enter Gardens of eternity, therein they will be adorned with bracelets of gold and pearls, and their garments will be of silk

jannātu ʿadnin yadkhulūnahā yuḥallawna fīhā min asāwira min dhahabin walu'lu-an walibāsuhum fīhā ḥarīru

35:34

وَقَالُوا۟ ٱلۡحَمۡدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِیۤ أَذۡهَبَ عَنَّا ٱلۡحَزَنَۖ إِنَّ رَبَّنَا لَغَفُورࣱ شَكُورٌ ۝٣٤

And they will say, “Praise God, Who has removed from us all sorrow, for our Lord is indeed oft-forgiving, ready to appreciate

waqālū l-ḥamdu lillahi alladhī adhhaba ʿannā l-ḥazana inna rabbanā laghafūrun shakūru

35:35

ٱلَّذِیۤ أَحَلَّنَا دَارَ ٱلۡمُقَامَةِ مِن فَضۡلِهِۦ لَا یَمَسُّنَا فِیهَا نَصَبࣱ وَلَا یَمَسُّنَا فِیهَا لُغُوبࣱ ۝٣٥

“He Who has, out of His bounty, settled us in a home that will last. Neither fatigue nor sense of weariness will touch us therein.

alladhī aḥallanā dāra l-muqāmati min faḍlihi lā yamassunā fīhā naṣabun walā yamassunā fīhā lughūbu

35:36

وَٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ لَهُمۡ نَارُ جَهَنَّمَ لَا یُقۡضَىٰ عَلَیۡهِمۡ فَیَمُوتُوا۟ وَلَا یُخَفَّفُ عَنۡهُم مِّنۡ عَذَابِهَاۚ كَذَ ٰلِكَ نَجۡزِی كُلَّ كَفُورࣲ ۝٣٦

But those who reject God, for them will be the fire of hell. No term will be determined for them, thus not allowing them to die, nor will its penalty be lightened for them. This is how We reward every ungrateful one

wa-alladhīna kafarū lahum nāru jahannama lā yuq'ḍā ʿalayhim fayamūtū walā yukhaffafu ʿanhum min ʿadhābihā kadhālika najzī kulla kafūri

35:37

وَهُمۡ یَصۡطَرِخُونَ فِیهَا رَبَّنَاۤ أَخۡرِجۡنَا نَعۡمَلۡ صَـٰلِحًا غَیۡرَ ٱلَّذِی كُنَّا نَعۡمَلُۚ أَوَ لَمۡ نُعَمِّرۡكُم مَّا یَتَذَكَّرُ فِیهِ مَن تَذَكَّرَ وَجَاۤءَكُمُ ٱلنَّذِیرُۖ فَذُوقُوا۟ فَمَا لِلظَّـٰلِمِینَ مِن نَّصِیرٍ ۝٣٧

Therein will they cry aloud, “Our Lord, let us out. We will work righteously, not the deeds we used to do.” “Did We not give you a long enough life so that all could take the advice? And the warner came to you. So taste this, for the wrongdoers there is no helper.

wahum yaṣṭarikhūna fīhā rabbanā akhrij'nā naʿmal ṣāliḥan ghayra alladhī kunnā naʿmalu awalam nuʿammir'kum mā yatadhakkaru fīhi man tadhakkara wajāakumu l-nadhīru fadhūqū famā lilẓẓālimīna min naṣīri

35:38

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَـٰلِمُ غَیۡبِ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ إِنَّهُۥ عَلِیمُۢ بِذَاتِ ٱلصُّدُورِ ۝٣٨

Indeed God knows all the hidden things of the heavens and the earth, and indeed He has full knowledge of all that is in the heart

inna l-laha ʿālimu ghaybi l-samāwāti wal-arḍi innahu ʿalīmun bidhāti l-ṣudūr

35:39

هُوَ ٱلَّذِی جَعَلَكُمۡ خَلَـٰۤىِٕفَ فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ فَمَن كَفَرَ فَعَلَیۡهِ كُفۡرُهُۥۖ وَلَا یَزِیدُ ٱلۡكَـٰفِرِینَ كُفۡرُهُمۡ عِندَ رَبِّهِمۡ إِلَّا مَقۡتࣰاۖ وَلَا یَزِیدُ ٱلۡكَـٰفِرِینَ كُفۡرُهُمۡ إِلَّا خَسَارࣰا ۝٣٩

It is He Who has made you inheritors in the earth. If any then reject God, their rejection will work against them. Their rejection only adds to disbelief for the unbelievers in the sight of their Lord. Their rejection only adds to their undoing

huwa alladhī jaʿalakum khalāifa fī l-arḍi faman kafara faʿalayhi kuf'ruhu walā yazīdu l-kāfirīna kuf'ruhum ʿinda rabbihim illā maqtan walā yazīdu l-kāfirīna kuf'ruhum illā khasāra

35:40

قُلۡ أَرَءَیۡتُمۡ شُرَكَاۤءَكُمُ ٱلَّذِینَ تَدۡعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ أَرُونِی مَاذَا خَلَقُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلۡأَرۡضِ أَمۡ لَهُمۡ شِرۡكࣱ فِی ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ أَمۡ ءَاتَیۡنَـٰهُمۡ كِتَـٰبࣰا فَهُمۡ عَلَىٰ بَیِّنَتࣲ مِّنۡهُۚ بَلۡ إِن یَعِدُ ٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَ بَعۡضُهُم بَعۡضًا إِلَّا غُرُورًا ۝٤٠

Say, “Have you seen these partners of yours whom you call upon besides God? Show Me what it is they have created in the earth. Or have they a share in the heavens? Or have We given them a book from which they can derive guidance? No, the wrongdoers promise each other nothing but delusions

qul ara-aytum shurakāakumu alladhīna tadʿūna min dūni l-lahi arūnī mādhā khalaqū mina l-arḍi am lahum shir'kun fī l-samāwāti am ātaynāhum kitāban fahum ʿalā bayyinatin min'hu bal in yaʿidu l-ẓālimūna baʿḍuhum baʿḍan illā ghurūra

35:41

۞ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ یُمۡسِكُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ أَن تَزُولَاۚ وَلَىِٕن زَالَتَاۤ إِنۡ أَمۡسَكَهُمَا مِنۡ أَحَدࣲ مِّنۢ بَعۡدِهِۦۤۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ حَلِیمًا غَفُورࣰا ۝٤١

It is God Who sustains the heavens and the earth, lest they cease to function, and if they should fail, there is none, not one, who can sustain them thereafter. Indeed He is Most Understanding, Oft-Forgiving

inna l-laha yum'siku l-samāwāti wal-arḍa an tazūlā wala-in zālatā in amsakahumā min aḥadin min baʿdihi innahu kāna ḥalīman ghafūra

35:42

وَأَقۡسَمُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ جَهۡدَ أَیۡمَـٰنِهِمۡ لَىِٕن جَاۤءَهُمۡ نَذِیرࣱ لَّیَكُونُنَّ أَهۡدَىٰ مِنۡ إِحۡدَى ٱلۡأُمَمِۖ فَلَمَّا جَاۤءَهُمۡ نَذِیرࣱ مَّا زَادَهُمۡ إِلَّا نُفُورًا ۝٤٢

They swore their strongest oath by God that if a warner came to them, they would follow his guidance better than any other people, but when a warner came to them, it only increased their flight

wa-aqsamū bil-lahi jahda aymānihim la-in jāahum nadhīrun layakūnunna ahdā min iḥ'dā l-umami falammā jāahum nadhīrun mā zādahum illā nufūra

35:43

ٱسۡتِكۡبَارࣰا فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَمَكۡرَ ٱلسَّیِّىِٕۚ وَلَا یَحِیقُ ٱلۡمَكۡرُ ٱلسَّیِّئُ إِلَّا بِأَهۡلِهِۦۚ فَهَلۡ یَنظُرُونَ إِلَّا سُنَّتَ ٱلۡأَوَّلِینَۚ فَلَن تَجِدَ لِسُنَّتِ ٱللَّهِ تَبۡدِیلࣰاۖ وَلَن تَجِدَ لِسُنَّتِ ٱللَّهِ تَحۡوِیلًا ۝٤٣

On account of their arrogance in the land, and their plotting of evil. But the plotting of evil will only hem in the authors of it. Now they are looking for the way the ancients were dealt with? But no change will you find in God's Sunnah, and no finale will you find in God's Sunnah

is'tik'bāran fī l-arḍi wamakra l-sayi-i walā yaḥīqu l-makru l-sayi-u illā bi-ahlihi fahal yanẓurūna illā sunnata l-awalīna falan tajida lisunnati l-lahi tabdīlan walan tajida lisunnati l-lahi taḥwīla

35:44

أَوَ لَمۡ یَسِیرُوا۟ فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِ فَیَنظُرُوا۟ كَیۡفَ كَانَ عَـٰقِبَةُ ٱلَّذِینَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡ وَكَانُوۤا۟ أَشَدَّ مِنۡهُمۡ قُوَّةࣰۚ وَمَا كَانَ ٱللَّهُ لِیُعۡجِزَهُۥ مِن شَیۡءࣲ فِی ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَلَا فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ عَلِیمࣰا قَدِیرࣰا ۝٤٤

Do they not travel through the earth, and see what the end of those before them was, though they were superior to them in strength? Nor is God to be escaped by anything in the heavens or on earth, for He is All Knowing, All Powerful

awalam yasīrū fī l-arḍi fayanẓurū kayfa kāna ʿāqibatu alladhīna min qablihim wakānū ashadda min'hum quwwatan wamā kāna l-lahu liyuʿ'jizahu min shayin fī l-samāwāti walā fī l-arḍi innahu kāna ʿalīman qadīra

35:45

وَلَوۡ یُؤَاخِذُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلنَّاسَ بِمَا كَسَبُوا۟ مَا تَرَكَ عَلَىٰ ظَهۡرِهَا مِن دَاۤبَّةࣲ وَلَـٰكِن یُؤَخِّرُهُمۡ إِلَىٰۤ أَجَلࣲ مُّسَمࣰّىۖ فَإِذَا جَاۤءَ أَجَلُهُمۡ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ بِعِبَادِهِۦ بَصِیرَۢا ۝٤٥

If God were to punish people according to what they deserve, He would not leave on its back a single one of these creatures, but He gives them respite for a stated term. When their term expires, then indeed God has in His sight all His servants

walaw yuākhidhu l-lahu l-nāsa bimā kasabū mā taraka ʿalā ẓahrihā min dābbatin walākin yu-akhiruhum ilā ajalin musamman fa-idhā jāa ajaluhum fa-inna l-laha kāna biʿibādihi baṣīra
