The Angels, Originator, The Creator — Sayyed Abbas Sadr Ameli Translation

35:1

ٱلۡحَمۡدُ لِلَّهِ فَاطِرِ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ جَاعِلِ ٱلۡمَلَـٰۤىِٕكَةِ رُسُلًا أُو۟لِیۤ أَجۡنِحَةࣲ مَّثۡنَىٰ وَثُلَـٰثَ وَرُبَـٰعَۚ یَزِیدُ فِی ٱلۡخَلۡقِ مَا یَشَاۤءُۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَیۡءࣲ قَدِیرࣱ ۝١

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

(All) praise belongs to Allah, the Originator of the heavens and the earth, Who appointed the angels messengers having wings two, three, and four. He add

al-ḥamdu lillahi fāṭiri l-samāwāti wal-arḍi jāʿili l-malāikati rusulan ulī ajniḥatin mathnā wathulātha warubāʿa yazīdu fī l-khalqi mā yashāu inna l-laha ʿalā kulli shayin qadīru

35:2

مَّا یَفۡتَحِ ٱللَّهُ لِلنَّاسِ مِن رَّحۡمَةࣲ فَلَا مُمۡسِكَ لَهَاۖ وَمَا یُمۡسِكۡ فَلَا مُرۡسِلَ لَهُۥ مِنۢ بَعۡدِهِۦۚ وَهُوَ ٱلۡعَزِیزُ ٱلۡحَكِیمُ ۝٢

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

Whatever mercy Allah opens to men, none can withhold and whatever He withholds, none can loose after Him, and He is the Mighty, the Wise.

mā yaftaḥi l-lahu lilnnāsi min raḥmatin falā mum'sika lahā wamā yum'sik falā mur'sila lahu min baʿdihi wahuwa l-ʿazīzu l-ḥakīm

35:3

یَـٰۤأَیُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ ٱذۡكُرُوا۟ نِعۡمَتَ ٱللَّهِ عَلَیۡكُمۡۚ هَلۡ مِنۡ خَـٰلِقٍ غَیۡرُ ٱللَّهِ یَرۡزُقُكُم مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَاۤءِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ لَاۤ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَۖ فَأَنَّىٰ تُؤۡفَكُونَ ۝٣

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

O people! Remember Allah s favour upon you; is there any creator, apart from Allah, who gives you sustenance from the heaven and the earth? There is no god but He; whence are you then turned away (from the truth)?

yāayyuhā l-nāsu udh'kurū niʿ'mata l-lahi ʿalaykum hal min khāliqin ghayru l-lahi yarzuqukum mina l-samāi wal-arḍi lā ilāha illā huwa fa-annā tu'fakūn

35:4

وَإِن یُكَذِّبُوكَ فَقَدۡ كُذِّبَتۡ رُسُلࣱ مِّن قَبۡلِكَۚ وَإِلَى ٱللَّهِ تُرۡجَعُ ٱلۡأُمُورُ ۝٤

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

And if they belie you, apostles before you have been belied, and to Allah are all affairs returned.

wa-in yukadhibūka faqad kudhibat rusulun min qablika wa-ilā l-lahi tur'jaʿu l-umūr

35:5

یَـٰۤأَیُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ إِنَّ وَعۡدَ ٱللَّهِ حَقࣱّۖ فَلَا تَغُرَّنَّكُمُ ٱلۡحَیَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنۡیَا وَلَا یَغُرَّنَّكُم بِٱللَّهِ ٱلۡغَرُورُ ۝٥

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

O people! Verily the promise of Allah is true. So let not the life of the world beguile you, nor let the arch-deceiver (Satan) deceive you about Allah!

yāayyuhā l-nāsu inna waʿda l-lahi ḥaqqun falā taghurrannakumu l-ḥayatu l-dun'yā walā yaghurrannakum bil-lahi l-gharūr

35:6

إِنَّ ٱلشَّیۡطَـٰنَ لَكُمۡ عَدُوࣱّ فَٱتَّخِذُوهُ عَدُوًّاۚ إِنَّمَا یَدۡعُوا۟ حِزۡبَهُۥ لِیَكُونُوا۟ مِنۡ أَصۡحَـٰبِ ٱلسَّعِیرِ ۝٦

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

Verily Satan is your enemy, so you (too) take him (as your) enemy. He only invites his adherents that they may become companions of the Blazing Fire.

inna l-shayṭāna lakum ʿaduwwun fa-ittakhidhūhu ʿaduwwan innamā yadʿū ḥiz'bahu liyakūnū min aṣḥābi l-saʿīr

35:7

ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ لَهُمۡ عَذَابࣱ شَدِیدࣱۖ وَٱلَّذِینَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ لَهُم مَّغۡفِرَةࣱ وَأَجۡرࣱ كَبِیرٌ ۝٧

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

Those who disbelieve, for them shall be a severe chastisement, and as for those who believe and do righteous deeds, for them shall be forgiveness and a great recompense.

alladhīna kafarū lahum ʿadhābun shadīdun wa-alladhīna āmanū waʿamilū l-ṣāliḥāti lahum maghfiratun wa-ajrun kabīru

35:8

أَفَمَن زُیِّنَ لَهُۥ سُوۤءُ عَمَلِهِۦ فَرَءَاهُ حَسَنࣰاۖ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ یُضِلُّ مَن یَشَاۤءُ وَیَهۡدِی مَن یَشَاۤءُۖ فَلَا تَذۡهَبۡ نَفۡسُكَ عَلَیۡهِمۡ حَسَرَ ٰتٍۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلِیمُۢ بِمَا یَصۡنَعُونَ ۝٨

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

Is he, then, to whom the evil of his deed is made alluring so that he looks upon it as good, (equal to one who is rightly guided)? Now verily Allah makes err whom He pleases and guides aright whom He pleases, so let not your soul waste away in grief for them; verily Allah is Cognizant of what they do.

afaman zuyyina lahu sūu ʿamalihi faraāhu ḥasanan fa-inna l-laha yuḍillu man yashāu wayahdī man yashāu falā tadhhab nafsuka ʿalayhim ḥasarātin inna l-laha ʿalīmun bimā yaṣnaʿūn

35:9

وَٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِیۤ أَرۡسَلَ ٱلرِّیَـٰحَ فَتُثِیرُ سَحَابࣰا فَسُقۡنَـٰهُ إِلَىٰ بَلَدࣲ مَّیِّتࣲ فَأَحۡیَیۡنَا بِهِ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ بَعۡدَ مَوۡتِهَاۚ كَذَ ٰلِكَ ٱلنُّشُورُ ۝٩

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

And Allah is He who sends the winds that stir up cloud then We drive it to a dead land and there with revive the earth, after it is dead. Even so is the Resurrection.

wal-lahu alladhī arsala l-riyāḥa fatuthīru saḥāban fasuq'nāhu ilā baladin mayyitin fa-aḥyaynā bihi l-arḍa baʿda mawtihā kadhālika l-nushūr

35:10

مَن كَانَ یُرِیدُ ٱلۡعِزَّةَ فَلِلَّهِ ٱلۡعِزَّةُ جَمِیعًاۚ إِلَیۡهِ یَصۡعَدُ ٱلۡكَلِمُ ٱلطَّیِّبُ وَٱلۡعَمَلُ ٱلصَّـٰلِحُ یَرۡفَعُهُۥۚ وَٱلَّذِینَ یَمۡكُرُونَ ٱلسَّیِّءَاتِ لَهُمۡ عَذَابࣱ شَدِیدࣱۖ وَمَكۡرُ أُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ هُوَ یَبُورُ ۝١٠

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

Whoever desires glory, the glory belongs to Allah wholly to Him do ascend the good words and the righteous deed, He uplifts it; but those who devise evil deeds, for them is a terrible chastisement, and their plot shall come to naught.

man kāna yurīdu l-ʿizata falillahi l-ʿizatu jamīʿan ilayhi yaṣʿadu l-kalimu l-ṭayibu wal-ʿamalu l-ṣāliḥu yarfaʿuhu wa-alladhīna yamkurūna l-sayiāti lahum ʿadhābun shadīdun wamakru ulāika huwa yabūr

35:11

وَٱللَّهُ خَلَقَكُم مِّن تُرَابࣲ ثُمَّ مِن نُّطۡفَةࣲ ثُمَّ جَعَلَكُمۡ أَزۡوَ ٰجࣰاۚ وَمَا تَحۡمِلُ مِنۡ أُنثَىٰ وَلَا تَضَعُ إِلَّا بِعِلۡمِهِۦۚ وَمَا یُعَمَّرُ مِن مُّعَمَّرࣲ وَلَا یُنقَصُ مِنۡ عُمُرِهِۦۤ إِلَّا فِی كِتَـٰبٍۚ إِنَّ ذَ ٰلِكَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ یَسِیرࣱ ۝١١

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

And Allah did create you from dust; then from a sperm-drop, then He made you pairs. And no female conceives nor does she bring forth, save with His knowledge and none is given long life who is given long life neither is any diminished in his life, but it is in a Book. Verily this, for Allah, is easy.

wal-lahu khalaqakum min turābin thumma min nuṭ'fatin thumma jaʿalakum azwājan wamā taḥmilu min unthā walā taḍaʿu illā biʿil'mihi wamā yuʿammaru min muʿammarin walā yunqaṣu min ʿumurihi illā fī kitābin inna dhālika ʿalā l-lahi yasīru

35:12

وَمَا یَسۡتَوِی ٱلۡبَحۡرَانِ هَـٰذَا عَذۡبࣱ فُرَاتࣱ سَاۤىِٕغࣱ شَرَابُهُۥ وَهَـٰذَا مِلۡحٌ أُجَاجࣱۖ وَمِن كُلࣲّ تَأۡكُلُونَ لَحۡمࣰا طَرِیࣰّا وَتَسۡتَخۡرِجُونَ حِلۡیَةࣰ تَلۡبَسُونَهَاۖ وَتَرَى ٱلۡفُلۡكَ فِیهِ مَوَاخِرَ لِتَبۡتَغُوا۟ مِن فَضۡلِهِۦ وَلَعَلَّكُمۡ تَشۡكُرُونَ ۝١٢

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

And not are the two seas alike, the one (is) palatable, and pleasant to drink, and the other, salt and bitter. Yet from the both you eat fresh flesh; and you extract ornaments which you wear, and you see the ships cleave through it that you may seek of His bounty and that you may be thankful.

wamā yastawī l-baḥrāni hādhā ʿadhbun furātun sāighun sharābuhu wahādhā mil'ḥun ujājun wamin kullin takulūna laḥman ṭariyyan watastakhrijūna ḥil'yatan talbasūnahā watarā l-ful'ka fīhi mawākhira litabtaghū min faḍlihi walaʿallakum tashkurūn

35:13

یُولِجُ ٱلَّیۡلَ فِی ٱلنَّهَارِ وَیُولِجُ ٱلنَّهَارَ فِی ٱلَّیۡلِ وَسَخَّرَ ٱلشَّمۡسَ وَٱلۡقَمَرَۖ كُلࣱّ یَجۡرِی لِأَجَلࣲ مُّسَمࣰّىۚ ذَ ٰلِكُمُ ٱللَّهُ رَبُّكُمۡ لَهُ ٱلۡمُلۡكُۚ وَٱلَّذِینَ تَدۡعُونَ مِن دُونِهِۦ مَا یَمۡلِكُونَ مِن قِطۡمِیرٍ ۝١٣

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

He merges the night into the day and He merges the day into the night, and He has made subservient (to you) the sun and the moon, each of them running to an appointed time; such is Allah, your Lord; to Him belongs the kingdom, and those whom you call upon, apart from Him, possess not (so much as) the skin of a date-stone.

yūliju al-layla fī l-nahāri wayūliju l-nahāra fī al-layli wasakhara l-shamsa wal-qamara kullun yajrī li-ajalin musamman dhālikumu l-lahu rabbukum lahu l-mul'ku wa-alladhīna tadʿūna min dūnihi mā yamlikūna min qiṭ'mīri

35:14

إِن تَدۡعُوهُمۡ لَا یَسۡمَعُوا۟ دُعَاۤءَكُمۡ وَلَوۡ سَمِعُوا۟ مَا ٱسۡتَجَابُوا۟ لَكُمۡۖ وَیَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِیَـٰمَةِ یَكۡفُرُونَ بِشِرۡكِكُمۡۚ وَلَا یُنَبِّئُكَ مِثۡلُ خَبِیرࣲ ۝١٤

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

If you call upon them, they will not hear your prayer; and even if they heard, they would not answer you; and on the Day of judgment they will deny your partnership; and none can inform you like (the One Who is) aware.

in tadʿūhum lā yasmaʿū duʿāakum walaw samiʿū mā is'tajābū lakum wayawma l-qiyāmati yakfurūna bishir'kikum walā yunabbi-uka mith'lu khabīri

35:15

۞ یَـٰۤأَیُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ أَنتُمُ ٱلۡفُقَرَاۤءُ إِلَى ٱللَّهِۖ وَٱللَّهُ هُوَ ٱلۡغَنِیُّ ٱلۡحَمِیدُ ۝١٥

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

O people! You are the needy unto Allah; and Allah (alone) is He Who is the Self-Sufficient, the Praised.

yāayyuhā l-nāsu antumu l-fuqarāu ilā l-lahi wal-lahu huwa l-ghaniyu l-ḥamīd

35:16

إِن یَشَأۡ یُذۡهِبۡكُمۡ وَیَأۡتِ بِخَلۡقࣲ جَدِیدࣲ ۝١٦

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

If He pleases, He will take you off and bring a new generation,

in yasha yudh'hib'kum wayati bikhalqin jadīdi

35:17

وَمَا ذَ ٰلِكَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ بِعَزِیزࣲ ۝١٧

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

And this is not hard to Allah.

wamā dhālika ʿalā l-lahi biʿazīzi

35:18

وَلَا تَزِرُ وَازِرَةࣱ وِزۡرَ أُخۡرَىٰۚ وَإِن تَدۡعُ مُثۡقَلَةٌ إِلَىٰ حِمۡلِهَا لَا یُحۡمَلۡ مِنۡهُ شَیۡءࣱ وَلَوۡ كَانَ ذَا قُرۡبَىٰۤۗ إِنَّمَا تُنذِرُ ٱلَّذِینَ یَخۡشَوۡنَ رَبَّهُم بِٱلۡغَیۡبِ وَأَقَامُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَۚ وَمَن تَزَكَّىٰ فَإِنَّمَا یَتَزَكَّىٰ لِنَفۡسِهِۦۚ وَإِلَى ٱللَّهِ ٱلۡمَصِیرُ ۝١٨

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

And no one laden bears the burden of another; and if one heavy-burdened calls for its load to be carried, not a thing of it will be carried, even if he be a near kinsman. You warn only those who fear their Lord in secret and keep up prayer. And whoever purifies (himself), he only purifies for his own self. And Unto Allah (alone) is the destination (of all).

walā taziru wāziratun wiz'ra ukh'rā wa-in tadʿu muth'qalatun ilā ḥim'lihā lā yuḥ'mal min'hu shayon walaw kāna dhā qur'bā innamā tundhiru alladhīna yakhshawna rabbahum bil-ghaybi wa-aqāmū l-ṣalata waman tazakkā fa-innamā yatazakkā linafsihi wa-ilā l-lahi l-maṣīr

35:19

وَمَا یَسۡتَوِی ٱلۡأَعۡمَىٰ وَٱلۡبَصِیرُ ۝١٩

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

And the blind and the seeing are not alike,

wamā yastawī l-aʿmā wal-baṣīr

35:20

وَلَا ٱلظُّلُمَـٰتُ وَلَا ٱلنُّورُ ۝٢٠

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

Nor the darkness and the light,

walā l-ẓulumātu walā l-nūr

35:21

وَلَا ٱلظِّلُّ وَلَا ٱلۡحَرُورُ ۝٢١

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

Nor the shade and the heat

walā l-ẓilu walā l-ḥarūr

35:22

وَمَا یَسۡتَوِی ٱلۡأَحۡیَاۤءُ وَلَا ٱلۡأَمۡوَ ٰتُۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ یُسۡمِعُ مَن یَشَاۤءُۖ وَمَاۤ أَنتَ بِمُسۡمِعࣲ مَّن فِی ٱلۡقُبُورِ ۝٢٢

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

Neither are the living and the dead alike. Verily Allah makes whom He pleases hear, and you cannot make those hear who are in the graves.

wamā yastawī l-aḥyāu walā l-amwātu inna l-laha yus'miʿu man yashāu wamā anta bimus'miʿin man fī l-qubūr

35:23

إِنۡ أَنتَ إِلَّا نَذِیرٌ ۝٢٣

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

You are naught but a Warner.

in anta illā nadhīru

35:24

إِنَّاۤ أَرۡسَلۡنَـٰكَ بِٱلۡحَقِّ بَشِیرࣰا وَنَذِیرࣰاۚ وَإِن مِّنۡ أُمَّةٍ إِلَّا خَلَا فِیهَا نَذِیرࣱ ۝٢٤

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

Verily We sent you with truth as a bearer of glad-tidings and a Warner, and there was not a people but a Warner having gone in them (in the past).

innā arsalnāka bil-ḥaqi bashīran wanadhīran wa-in min ummatin illā khalā fīhā nadhīru

35:25

وَإِن یُكَذِّبُوكَ فَقَدۡ كَذَّبَ ٱلَّذِینَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡ جَاۤءَتۡهُمۡ رُسُلُهُم بِٱلۡبَیِّنَـٰتِ وَبِٱلزُّبُرِ وَبِٱلۡكِتَـٰبِ ٱلۡمُنِیرِ ۝٢٥

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

And if they belie you, so indeed did belie those before them; their apostles had come unto them with clear proofs, and with scriptures, and with the enlightening Book.

wa-in yukadhibūka faqad kadhaba alladhīna min qablihim jāathum rusuluhum bil-bayināti wabil-zuburi wabil-kitābi l-munīr

35:26

ثُمَّ أَخَذۡتُ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ۖ فَكَیۡفَ كَانَ نَكِیرِ ۝٢٦

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

Then did I seize those who disbelieved, so how (severe) was My punishment?

thumma akhadhtu alladhīna kafarū fakayfa kāna nakīr

35:27

أَلَمۡ تَرَ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ أَنزَلَ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَاۤءِ مَاۤءࣰ فَأَخۡرَجۡنَا بِهِۦ ثَمَرَ ٰتࣲ مُّخۡتَلِفًا أَلۡوَ ٰنُهَاۚ وَمِنَ ٱلۡجِبَالِ جُدَدُۢ بِیضࣱ وَحُمۡرࣱ مُّخۡتَلِفٌ أَلۡوَ ٰنُهَا وَغَرَابِیبُ سُودࣱ ۝٢٧

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

Have you not seen that Allah sends down water from the sky, then We bring forth with it fruits of various colours, and in the mountains are streaks, white and red, of divers hues and (others) intensely black?

alam tara anna l-laha anzala mina l-samāi māan fa-akhrajnā bihi thamarātin mukh'talifan alwānuhā wamina l-jibāli judadun bīḍun waḥum'run mukh'talifun alwānuhā wagharābību sūdu

35:28

وَمِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ وَٱلدَّوَاۤبِّ وَٱلۡأَنۡعَـٰمِ مُخۡتَلِفٌ أَلۡوَ ٰنُهُۥ كَذَ ٰلِكَۗ إِنَّمَا یَخۡشَى ٱللَّهَ مِنۡ عِبَادِهِ ٱلۡعُلَمَـٰۤؤُا۟ۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَزِیزٌ غَفُورٌ ۝٢٨

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

And of the people and beasts and cattle are of various colours likewise; verily only those of His servants fear Allah who have knowledge, verily Allah is Mighty, Forgiving.

wamina l-nāsi wal-dawābi wal-anʿāmi mukh'talifun alwānuhu kadhālika innamā yakhshā l-laha min ʿibādihi l-ʿulamāu inna l-laha ʿazīzun ghafūru

35:29

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِینَ یَتۡلُونَ كِتَـٰبَ ٱللَّهِ وَأَقَامُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَأَنفَقُوا۟ مِمَّا رَزَقۡنَـٰهُمۡ سِرࣰّا وَعَلَانِیَةࣰ یَرۡجُونَ تِجَـٰرَةࣰ لَّن تَبُورَ ۝٢٩

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

Verily, those who recite the Book of Allah and establish prayer and spend (in charity) out of what We have provided them, secretly and openly, hope for a merchandise which will never perish,

inna alladhīna yatlūna kitāba l-lahi wa-aqāmū l-ṣalata wa-anfaqū mimmā razaqnāhum sirran waʿalāniyatan yarjūna tijāratan lan tabūr

35:30

لِیُوَفِّیَهُمۡ أُجُورَهُمۡ وَیَزِیدَهُم مِّن فَضۡلِهِۦۤۚ إِنَّهُۥ غَفُورࣱ شَكُورࣱ ۝٣٠

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

That He will pay them their rewards fully and increase of His grace unto them; verily He is Forgiving, Thankful (of their good deeds).

liyuwaffiyahum ujūrahum wayazīdahum min faḍlihi innahu ghafūrun shakūru

35:31

وَٱلَّذِیۤ أَوۡحَیۡنَاۤ إِلَیۡكَ مِنَ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبِ هُوَ ٱلۡحَقُّ مُصَدِّقࣰا لِّمَا بَیۡنَ یَدَیۡهِۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ بِعِبَادِهِۦ لَخَبِیرُۢ بَصِیرࣱ ۝٣١

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

And that which We have revealed to you of the Book, it is the truth verifying that which is before it, verily Allah, about His servants, is Aware, Seeing.

wa-alladhī awḥaynā ilayka mina l-kitābi huwa l-ḥaqu muṣaddiqan limā bayna yadayhi inna l-laha biʿibādihi lakhabīrun baṣīru

35:32

ثُمَّ أَوۡرَثۡنَا ٱلۡكِتَـٰبَ ٱلَّذِینَ ٱصۡطَفَیۡنَا مِنۡ عِبَادِنَاۖ فَمِنۡهُمۡ ظَالِمࣱ لِّنَفۡسِهِۦ وَمِنۡهُم مُّقۡتَصِدࣱ وَمِنۡهُمۡ سَابِقُۢ بِٱلۡخَیۡرَ ٰتِ بِإِذۡنِ ٱللَّهِۚ ذَ ٰلِكَ هُوَ ٱلۡفَضۡلُ ٱلۡكَبِیرُ ۝٣٢

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

Then We gave the Book (Qur ?n) as inheritance unto those whom We elected of Our servants. But of them are some who wrong themselves, and of them are some who follow the middle course, and of them are some who outstrip (others) through good deeds, by Allah s leave. That is the great (Divine) favour!

thumma awrathnā l-kitāba alladhīna iṣ'ṭafaynā min ʿibādinā famin'hum ẓālimun linafsihi wamin'hum muq'taṣidun wamin'hum sābiqun bil-khayrāti bi-idh'ni l-lahi dhālika huwa l-faḍlu l-kabīr

35:33

جَنَّـٰتُ عَدۡنࣲ یَدۡخُلُونَهَا یُحَلَّوۡنَ فِیهَا مِنۡ أَسَاوِرَ مِن ذَهَبࣲ وَلُؤۡلُؤࣰاۖ وَلِبَاسُهُمۡ فِیهَا حَرِیرࣱ ۝٣٣

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

Gardens of Eden! They shall enter; therein they shall be adorned with bracelets of gold and pearls; and their raiment there shall be of silk.

jannātu ʿadnin yadkhulūnahā yuḥallawna fīhā min asāwira min dhahabin walu'lu-an walibāsuhum fīhā ḥarīru

35:34

وَقَالُوا۟ ٱلۡحَمۡدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِیۤ أَذۡهَبَ عَنَّا ٱلۡحَزَنَۖ إِنَّ رَبَّنَا لَغَفُورࣱ شَكُورٌ ۝٣٤

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

And they say: Praise belongs to Allah, Who has removed from us (all) sorrow; verily our Lord is Forgiving, Thankful.

waqālū l-ḥamdu lillahi alladhī adhhaba ʿannā l-ḥazana inna rabbanā laghafūrun shakūru

35:35

ٱلَّذِیۤ أَحَلَّنَا دَارَ ٱلۡمُقَامَةِ مِن فَضۡلِهِۦ لَا یَمَسُّنَا فِیهَا نَصَبࣱ وَلَا یَمَسُّنَا فِیهَا لُغُوبࣱ ۝٣٥

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

He Who, of His grace, has made us to dwell in a house for ever, toil shall not touch us therein, nor shall fatigue therein afflict us.

alladhī aḥallanā dāra l-muqāmati min faḍlihi lā yamassunā fīhā naṣabun walā yamassunā fīhā lughūbu

35:36

وَٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ لَهُمۡ نَارُ جَهَنَّمَ لَا یُقۡضَىٰ عَلَیۡهِمۡ فَیَمُوتُوا۟ وَلَا یُخَفَّفُ عَنۡهُم مِّنۡ عَذَابِهَاۚ كَذَ ٰلِكَ نَجۡزِی كُلَّ كَفُورࣲ ۝٣٦

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

And those who disbelieve, for them shall be the Fire of Hell, it shall not be decreed that they should die, nor shall the chastisement of it be lightened to them; even thus do We recompense every ungrateful one.

wa-alladhīna kafarū lahum nāru jahannama lā yuq'ḍā ʿalayhim fayamūtū walā yukhaffafu ʿanhum min ʿadhābihā kadhālika najzī kulla kafūri

35:37

وَهُمۡ یَصۡطَرِخُونَ فِیهَا رَبَّنَاۤ أَخۡرِجۡنَا نَعۡمَلۡ صَـٰلِحًا غَیۡرَ ٱلَّذِی كُنَّا نَعۡمَلُۚ أَوَ لَمۡ نُعَمِّرۡكُم مَّا یَتَذَكَّرُ فِیهِ مَن تَذَكَّرَ وَجَاۤءَكُمُ ٱلنَّذِیرُۖ فَذُوقُوا۟ فَمَا لِلظَّـٰلِمِینَ مِن نَّصِیرٍ ۝٣٧

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

And they shall cry aloud therein (for help, saying:) O our Lord! Take us out (so that) we will do good deeds other than what we used to do (before). (They will be said): Did We not give you long life enough to remember therein for him who would remember? And (moreover) the Warner came to you. So (now) taste you (the fruit of your deeds), then for the unjust there is no helper.

wahum yaṣṭarikhūna fīhā rabbanā akhrij'nā naʿmal ṣāliḥan ghayra alladhī kunnā naʿmalu awalam nuʿammir'kum mā yatadhakkaru fīhi man tadhakkara wajāakumu l-nadhīru fadhūqū famā lilẓẓālimīna min naṣīri

35:38

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَـٰلِمُ غَیۡبِ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ إِنَّهُۥ عَلِیمُۢ بِذَاتِ ٱلصُّدُورِ ۝٣٨

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

Verily Allah is the Knower of the unseen of the heavens and the earth; surely He knows all that is in the breasts (hearts).

inna l-laha ʿālimu ghaybi l-samāwāti wal-arḍi innahu ʿalīmun bidhāti l-ṣudūr

35:39

هُوَ ٱلَّذِی جَعَلَكُمۡ خَلَـٰۤىِٕفَ فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ فَمَن كَفَرَ فَعَلَیۡهِ كُفۡرُهُۥۖ وَلَا یَزِیدُ ٱلۡكَـٰفِرِینَ كُفۡرُهُمۡ عِندَ رَبِّهِمۡ إِلَّا مَقۡتࣰاۖ وَلَا یَزِیدُ ٱلۡكَـٰفِرِینَ كُفۡرُهُمۡ إِلَّا خَسَارࣰا ۝٣٩

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

He is the One Who appointed you viceroys in the earth, so whoever disbelieves, his disbelief shall be against him, and their unbelief does not increase the infidels with their Lord in anything except hatred; and their unbelief does not increase the infidels but loss.

huwa alladhī jaʿalakum khalāifa fī l-arḍi faman kafara faʿalayhi kuf'ruhu walā yazīdu l-kāfirīna kuf'ruhum ʿinda rabbihim illā maqtan walā yazīdu l-kāfirīna kuf'ruhum illā khasāra

35:40

قُلۡ أَرَءَیۡتُمۡ شُرَكَاۤءَكُمُ ٱلَّذِینَ تَدۡعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ أَرُونِی مَاذَا خَلَقُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلۡأَرۡضِ أَمۡ لَهُمۡ شِرۡكࣱ فِی ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ أَمۡ ءَاتَیۡنَـٰهُمۡ كِتَـٰبࣰا فَهُمۡ عَلَىٰ بَیِّنَتࣲ مِّنۡهُۚ بَلۡ إِن یَعِدُ ٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَ بَعۡضُهُم بَعۡضًا إِلَّا غُرُورًا ۝٤٠

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

Say: Have you seen your associates on whom you call, apart from Allah? Show me what they have created in the earth; or have they a partnership in (the creation of) the heavens? Or have We given them a Book so that they follow a clear argument from it? Nay, the unjus

qul ara-aytum shurakāakumu alladhīna tadʿūna min dūni l-lahi arūnī mādhā khalaqū mina l-arḍi am lahum shir'kun fī l-samāwāti am ātaynāhum kitāban fahum ʿalā bayyinatin min'hu bal in yaʿidu l-ẓālimūna baʿḍuhum baʿḍan illā ghurūra

35:41

۞ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ یُمۡسِكُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ أَن تَزُولَاۚ وَلَىِٕن زَالَتَاۤ إِنۡ أَمۡسَكَهُمَا مِنۡ أَحَدࣲ مِّنۢ بَعۡدِهِۦۤۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ حَلِیمًا غَفُورࣰا ۝٤١

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

Verily Allah holds the heavens and the earth lest they remove (from the orbit); and did they remove, none would hold them after Him; verily He is the Forbearing, the Forgiving.

inna l-laha yum'siku l-samāwāti wal-arḍa an tazūlā wala-in zālatā in amsakahumā min aḥadin min baʿdihi innahu kāna ḥalīman ghafūra

35:42

وَأَقۡسَمُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ جَهۡدَ أَیۡمَـٰنِهِمۡ لَىِٕن جَاۤءَهُمۡ نَذِیرࣱ لَّیَكُونُنَّ أَهۡدَىٰ مِنۡ إِحۡدَى ٱلۡأُمَمِۖ فَلَمَّا جَاۤءَهُمۡ نَذِیرࣱ مَّا زَادَهُمۡ إِلَّا نُفُورًا ۝٤٢

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

And they swore by Allah with the strongest oaths that if a Warner came to them, they would be more rightly guided than any one of the nations; but when a Warner came to them, it increased them naught but aversion (unto the truth).

wa-aqsamū bil-lahi jahda aymānihim la-in jāahum nadhīrun layakūnunna ahdā min iḥ'dā l-umami falammā jāahum nadhīrun mā zādahum illā nufūra

35:43

ٱسۡتِكۡبَارࣰا فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَمَكۡرَ ٱلسَّیِّىِٕۚ وَلَا یَحِیقُ ٱلۡمَكۡرُ ٱلسَّیِّئُ إِلَّا بِأَهۡلِهِۦۚ فَهَلۡ یَنظُرُونَ إِلَّا سُنَّتَ ٱلۡأَوَّلِینَۚ فَلَن تَجِدَ لِسُنَّتِ ٱللَّهِ تَبۡدِیلࣰاۖ وَلَن تَجِدَ لِسُنَّتِ ٱللَّهِ تَحۡوِیلًا ۝٤٣

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

On account of their arrogance in the earth, and devising evil; but evil devising encompasses only the devisers themselves; so do they expect anything except the way of (Allah against) the former people? For never shall you find any alternation in the course of Allah and never shall you find in the course of Allah any change.

is'tik'bāran fī l-arḍi wamakra l-sayi-i walā yaḥīqu l-makru l-sayi-u illā bi-ahlihi fahal yanẓurūna illā sunnata l-awalīna falan tajida lisunnati l-lahi tabdīlan walan tajida lisunnati l-lahi taḥwīla

35:44

أَوَ لَمۡ یَسِیرُوا۟ فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِ فَیَنظُرُوا۟ كَیۡفَ كَانَ عَـٰقِبَةُ ٱلَّذِینَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡ وَكَانُوۤا۟ أَشَدَّ مِنۡهُمۡ قُوَّةࣰۚ وَمَا كَانَ ٱللَّهُ لِیُعۡجِزَهُۥ مِن شَیۡءࣲ فِی ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَلَا فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ عَلِیمࣰا قَدِیرࣰا ۝٤٤

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

Have they not travelled in the earth and seen how was the end of those before them while they were stronger than them in power? Nor is Allah to be frustrated by anything whatever in the heavens or on the earth; verily He is Knowing, Powerful.

awalam yasīrū fī l-arḍi fayanẓurū kayfa kāna ʿāqibatu alladhīna min qablihim wakānū ashadda min'hum quwwatan wamā kāna l-lahu liyuʿ'jizahu min shayin fī l-samāwāti walā fī l-arḍi innahu kāna ʿalīman qadīra

35:45

وَلَوۡ یُؤَاخِذُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلنَّاسَ بِمَا كَسَبُوا۟ مَا تَرَكَ عَلَىٰ ظَهۡرِهَا مِن دَاۤبَّةࣲ وَلَـٰكِن یُؤَخِّرُهُمۡ إِلَىٰۤ أَجَلࣲ مُّسَمࣰّىۖ فَإِذَا جَاۤءَ أَجَلُهُمۡ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ بِعِبَادِهِۦ بَصِیرَۢا ۝٤٥

Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli

And if Allah were to seize the people (to punish them) for what they have earned, He would not leave on the back of it any creature; but He gives them respite till an appointed term. So when their term expires, then verily Allah is seeing with respect to His servants.

walaw yuākhidhu l-lahu l-nāsa bimā kasabū mā taraka ʿalā ẓahrihā min dābbatin walākin yu-akhiruhum ilā ajalin musamman fa-idhā jāa ajaluhum fa-inna l-laha kāna biʿibādihi baṣīra
