1 Divine Favours

ٱلۡحَمۡدُ لِلَّهِ فَاطِرِ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ جَاعِلِ ٱلۡمَلَـٰۤىِٕكَةِ رُسُلًا أُو۟لِیۤ أَجۡنِحَةࣲ مَّثۡنَىٰ وَثُلَـٰثَ وَرُبَـٰعَۚ یَزِیدُ فِی ٱلۡخَلۡقِ مَا یَشَاۤءُۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَیۡءࣲ قَدِیرࣱ ۝١

M. Farook Malik

Praise be to Allah, the Creator of the heavens and the earth! Who appoint the angels having two, three and four pairs of wings as His messengers. He adds to His creation as He pleases; for Allah has power over all things

al-ḥamdu lillahi fāṭiri l-samāwāti wal-arḍi jāʿili l-malāikati rusulan ulī ajniḥatin mathnā wathulātha warubāʿa yazīdu fī l-khalqi mā yashāu inna l-laha ʿalā kulli shayin qadīru

مَّا یَفۡتَحِ ٱللَّهُ لِلنَّاسِ مِن رَّحۡمَةࣲ فَلَا مُمۡسِكَ لَهَاۖ وَمَا یُمۡسِكۡ فَلَا مُرۡسِلَ لَهُۥ مِنۢ بَعۡدِهِۦۚ وَهُوَ ٱلۡعَزِیزُ ٱلۡحَكِیمُ ۝٢

M. Farook Malik

None can withhold the blessings which He bestows on people and none can award besides Him what He withholds. He is the Mighty, the Wise

mā yaftaḥi l-lahu lilnnāsi min raḥmatin falā mum'sika lahā wamā yum'sik falā mur'sila lahu min baʿdihi wahuwa l-ʿazīzu l-ḥakīm

یَـٰۤأَیُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ ٱذۡكُرُوا۟ نِعۡمَتَ ٱللَّهِ عَلَیۡكُمۡۚ هَلۡ مِنۡ خَـٰلِقٍ غَیۡرُ ٱللَّهِ یَرۡزُقُكُم مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَاۤءِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ لَاۤ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَۖ فَأَنَّىٰ تُؤۡفَكُونَ ۝٣

M. Farook Malik

O mankind! Call to mind the favors of Allah on you; is there any other creator than Allah who provides for you from the heavens and the earth? There is no god but Him. How then are you being deceived

yāayyuhā l-nāsu udh'kurū niʿ'mata l-lahi ʿalaykum hal min khāliqin ghayru l-lahi yarzuqukum mina l-samāi wal-arḍi lā ilāha illā huwa fa-annā tu'fakūn

وَإِن یُكَذِّبُوكَ فَقَدۡ كُذِّبَتۡ رُسُلࣱ مِّن قَبۡلِكَۚ وَإِلَى ٱللَّهِ تُرۡجَعُ ٱلۡأُمُورُ ۝٤

M. Farook Malik

O Prophet! If they deny you, so were the Messengers denied before you. All affairs shall ultimately be presented before Allah

wa-in yukadhibūka faqad kudhibat rusulun min qablika wa-ilā l-lahi tur'jaʿu l-umūr

یَـٰۤأَیُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ إِنَّ وَعۡدَ ٱللَّهِ حَقࣱّۖ فَلَا تَغُرَّنَّكُمُ ٱلۡحَیَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنۡیَا وَلَا یَغُرَّنَّكُم بِٱللَّهِ ٱلۡغَرُورُ ۝٥

M. Farook Malik

O mankind! Certainly the promise of Allah is true, therefore let not the life of this world deceive you nor let the chief deceiver (Satan) deceive you about Allah

yāayyuhā l-nāsu inna waʿda l-lahi ḥaqqun falā taghurrannakumu l-ḥayatu l-dun'yā walā yaghurrannakum bil-lahi l-gharūr

إِنَّ ٱلشَّیۡطَـٰنَ لَكُمۡ عَدُوࣱّ فَٱتَّخِذُوهُ عَدُوًّاۚ إِنَّمَا یَدۡعُوا۟ حِزۡبَهُۥ لِیَكُونُوا۟ مِنۡ أَصۡحَـٰبِ ٱلسَّعِیرِ ۝٦

M. Farook Malik

Surely Satan (Satan) is your enemy: so take him as an enemy. He is inviting his adherents towards his way so that they may become companions of the blazing fire

inna l-shayṭāna lakum ʿaduwwun fa-ittakhidhūhu ʿaduwwan innamā yadʿū ḥiz'bahu liyakūnū min aṣḥābi l-saʿīr

ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ لَهُمۡ عَذَابࣱ شَدِیدࣱۖ وَٱلَّذِینَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ لَهُم مَّغۡفِرَةࣱ وَأَجۡرࣱ كَبِیرٌ ۝٧

M. Farook Malik

Those who disbelieve shall have a terrible punishment, and those who believe and do good deeds shall have forgiveness and a magnificent reward

alladhīna kafarū lahum ʿadhābun shadīdun wa-alladhīna āmanū waʿamilū l-ṣāliḥāti lahum maghfiratun wa-ajrun kabīru

2 Truth will prevail

أَفَمَن زُیِّنَ لَهُۥ سُوۤءُ عَمَلِهِۦ فَرَءَاهُ حَسَنࣰاۖ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ یُضِلُّ مَن یَشَاۤءُ وَیَهۡدِی مَن یَشَاۤءُۖ فَلَا تَذۡهَبۡ نَفۡسُكَ عَلَیۡهِمۡ حَسَرَ ٰتٍۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلِیمُۢ بِمَا یَصۡنَعُونَ ۝٨

M. Farook Malik

Can that person be guided whose evil deeds are so fair seeming to him that he considers them good? The fact is that Allah leaves to stray whom He wills and guides whom He pleases. Therefore, O Prophet, let not your soul expire in sorrow on their account. Allah is aware of all their actions

afaman zuyyina lahu sūu ʿamalihi faraāhu ḥasanan fa-inna l-laha yuḍillu man yashāu wayahdī man yashāu falā tadhhab nafsuka ʿalayhim ḥasarātin inna l-laha ʿalīmun bimā yaṣnaʿūn

وَٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِیۤ أَرۡسَلَ ٱلرِّیَـٰحَ فَتُثِیرُ سَحَابࣰا فَسُقۡنَـٰهُ إِلَىٰ بَلَدࣲ مَّیِّتࣲ فَأَحۡیَیۡنَا بِهِ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ بَعۡدَ مَوۡتِهَاۚ كَذَ ٰلِكَ ٱلنُّشُورُ ۝٩

M. Farook Malik

It is Allah Who sends forth winds to raise up the clouds, then drives them to a dead land and therewith revive the earth after its death. Similar will be the resurrection of the dead

wal-lahu alladhī arsala l-riyāḥa fatuthīru saḥāban fasuq'nāhu ilā baladin mayyitin fa-aḥyaynā bihi l-arḍa baʿda mawtihā kadhālika l-nushūr

مَن كَانَ یُرِیدُ ٱلۡعِزَّةَ فَلِلَّهِ ٱلۡعِزَّةُ جَمِیعًاۚ إِلَیۡهِ یَصۡعَدُ ٱلۡكَلِمُ ٱلطَّیِّبُ وَٱلۡعَمَلُ ٱلصَّـٰلِحُ یَرۡفَعُهُۥۚ وَٱلَّذِینَ یَمۡكُرُونَ ٱلسَّیِّءَاتِ لَهُمۡ عَذَابࣱ شَدِیدࣱۖ وَمَكۡرُ أُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ هُوَ یَبُورُ ۝١٠

M. Farook Malik

If anyone is seeking honor, let him know that all honor belongs to Allah Alone. Good words ascend to Him and good deeds are exalted by Him. As for those who plan evil deeds, they shall have severe punishment and their plots will be brought to nothing

man kāna yurīdu l-ʿizata falillahi l-ʿizatu jamīʿan ilayhi yaṣʿadu l-kalimu l-ṭayibu wal-ʿamalu l-ṣāliḥu yarfaʿuhu wa-alladhīna yamkurūna l-sayiāti lahum ʿadhābun shadīdun wamakru ulāika huwa yabūr

وَٱللَّهُ خَلَقَكُم مِّن تُرَابࣲ ثُمَّ مِن نُّطۡفَةࣲ ثُمَّ جَعَلَكُمۡ أَزۡوَ ٰجࣰاۚ وَمَا تَحۡمِلُ مِنۡ أُنثَىٰ وَلَا تَضَعُ إِلَّا بِعِلۡمِهِۦۚ وَمَا یُعَمَّرُ مِن مُّعَمَّرࣲ وَلَا یُنقَصُ مِنۡ عُمُرِهِۦۤ إِلَّا فِی كِتَـٰبٍۚ إِنَّ ذَ ٰلِكَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ یَسِیرࣱ ۝١١

M. Farook Malik

It is Allah Who created you from dust, then from a sperm-drop, then He made you pairs. No female conceives or delivers without His knowledge. No long- lived man grows old or has his life cut short but is written in a Book; surely all this is easy for Allah

wal-lahu khalaqakum min turābin thumma min nuṭ'fatin thumma jaʿalakum azwājan wamā taḥmilu min unthā walā taḍaʿu illā biʿil'mihi wamā yuʿammaru min muʿammarin walā yunqaṣu min ʿumurihi illā fī kitābin inna dhālika ʿalā l-lahi yasīru

وَمَا یَسۡتَوِی ٱلۡبَحۡرَانِ هَـٰذَا عَذۡبࣱ فُرَاتࣱ سَاۤىِٕغࣱ شَرَابُهُۥ وَهَـٰذَا مِلۡحٌ أُجَاجࣱۖ وَمِن كُلࣲّ تَأۡكُلُونَ لَحۡمࣰا طَرِیࣰّا وَتَسۡتَخۡرِجُونَ حِلۡیَةࣰ تَلۡبَسُونَهَاۖ وَتَرَى ٱلۡفُلۡكَ فِیهِ مَوَاخِرَ لِتَبۡتَغُوا۟ مِن فَضۡلِهِۦ وَلَعَلَّكُمۡ تَشۡكُرُونَ ۝١٢

M. Farook Malik

The two bodies of water, of which one is sweet and pleasant to drink and the other is salty and bitter, are not alike. Yet from each kind of water you eat fresh meat and extract ornaments which you wear; and you see the ships plough their course through them to seek the bounty of Allah, that you may be grateful

wamā yastawī l-baḥrāni hādhā ʿadhbun furātun sāighun sharābuhu wahādhā mil'ḥun ujājun wamin kullin takulūna laḥman ṭariyyan watastakhrijūna ḥil'yatan talbasūnahā watarā l-ful'ka fīhi mawākhira litabtaghū min faḍlihi walaʿallakum tashkurūn

یُولِجُ ٱلَّیۡلَ فِی ٱلنَّهَارِ وَیُولِجُ ٱلنَّهَارَ فِی ٱلَّیۡلِ وَسَخَّرَ ٱلشَّمۡسَ وَٱلۡقَمَرَۖ كُلࣱّ یَجۡرِی لِأَجَلࣲ مُّسَمࣰّىۚ ذَ ٰلِكُمُ ٱللَّهُ رَبُّكُمۡ لَهُ ٱلۡمُلۡكُۚ وَٱلَّذِینَ تَدۡعُونَ مِن دُونِهِۦ مَا یَمۡلِكُونَ مِن قِطۡمِیرٍ ۝١٣

M. Farook Malik

He causes the night to pass into the day and the day into the night, and He has made the sun and the moon to serve you; each one follows its course for an appointed term. Such is Allah, your Lord; His is the kingdom; and those to whom you pray besides Him do not even own a thread of a date-stone

yūliju al-layla fī l-nahāri wayūliju l-nahāra fī al-layli wasakhara l-shamsa wal-qamara kullun yajrī li-ajalin musamman dhālikumu l-lahu rabbukum lahu l-mul'ku wa-alladhīna tadʿūna min dūnihi mā yamlikūna min qiṭ'mīri

إِن تَدۡعُوهُمۡ لَا یَسۡمَعُوا۟ دُعَاۤءَكُمۡ وَلَوۡ سَمِعُوا۟ مَا ٱسۡتَجَابُوا۟ لَكُمۡۖ وَیَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِیَـٰمَةِ یَكۡفُرُونَ بِشِرۡكِكُمۡۚ وَلَا یُنَبِّئُكَ مِثۡلُ خَبِیرࣲ ۝١٤

M. Farook Malik

If you pray to them they cannot hear your prayers and even if they could hear you they could not answer you. On the Day of Resurrection they will deny your associating them with Allah. O mankind! None can inform you about all this except the One Who is All-Aware

in tadʿūhum lā yasmaʿū duʿāakum walaw samiʿū mā is'tajābū lakum wayawma l-qiyāmati yakfurūna bishir'kikum walā yunabbi-uka mith'lu khabīri

3 A New Generation will be raised

۞ یَـٰۤأَیُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ أَنتُمُ ٱلۡفُقَرَاۤءُ إِلَى ٱللَّهِۖ وَٱللَّهُ هُوَ ٱلۡغَنِیُّ ٱلۡحَمِیدُ ۝١٥

M. Farook Malik

O mankind! It is you who stands in need of Allah, and it is Allah Who is Free of all wants, Worthy of all praise

yāayyuhā l-nāsu antumu l-fuqarāu ilā l-lahi wal-lahu huwa l-ghaniyu l-ḥamīd

إِن یَشَأۡ یُذۡهِبۡكُمۡ وَیَأۡتِ بِخَلۡقࣲ جَدِیدࣲ ۝١٦

M. Farook Malik

If He wants, He can destroy you and replace you with a new creation

in yasha yudh'hib'kum wayati bikhalqin jadīdi

وَمَا ذَ ٰلِكَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ بِعَزِیزࣲ ۝١٧

M. Farook Malik

and this is not at all difficult for Allah

wamā dhālika ʿalā l-lahi biʿazīzi

وَلَا تَزِرُ وَازِرَةࣱ وِزۡرَ أُخۡرَىٰۚ وَإِن تَدۡعُ مُثۡقَلَةٌ إِلَىٰ حِمۡلِهَا لَا یُحۡمَلۡ مِنۡهُ شَیۡءࣱ وَلَوۡ كَانَ ذَا قُرۡبَىٰۤۗ إِنَّمَا تُنذِرُ ٱلَّذِینَ یَخۡشَوۡنَ رَبَّهُم بِٱلۡغَیۡبِ وَأَقَامُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَۚ وَمَن تَزَكَّىٰ فَإِنَّمَا یَتَزَكَّىٰ لِنَفۡسِهِۦۚ وَإِلَى ٱللَّهِ ٱلۡمَصِیرُ ۝١٨

M. Farook Malik

No bearer of a burden will bear another’s burden, and if a heavy laden person cries out for help, none will come forward to share the least of his burden, even though he be a close relative. O Prophet! You can only admonish those who fear their Lord - though they cannot see Him - and establish Salah. He that purifies himself does so for his own good. To Allah is the destination of all

walā taziru wāziratun wiz'ra ukh'rā wa-in tadʿu muth'qalatun ilā ḥim'lihā lā yuḥ'mal min'hu shayon walaw kāna dhā qur'bā innamā tundhiru alladhīna yakhshawna rabbahum bil-ghaybi wa-aqāmū l-ṣalata waman tazakkā fa-innamā yatazakkā linafsihi wa-ilā l-lahi l-maṣīr

وَمَا یَسۡتَوِی ٱلۡأَعۡمَىٰ وَٱلۡبَصِیرُ ۝١٩

M. Farook Malik

The blind and the seeing are not alike

wamā yastawī l-aʿmā wal-baṣīr

وَلَا ٱلظُّلُمَـٰتُ وَلَا ٱلنُّورُ ۝٢٠

M. Farook Malik

nor the darkness and the Light

walā l-ẓulumātu walā l-nūr

وَلَا ٱلظِّلُّ وَلَا ٱلۡحَرُورُ ۝٢١

M. Farook Malik

nor the shade and the heat

walā l-ẓilu walā l-ḥarūr

وَمَا یَسۡتَوِی ٱلۡأَحۡیَاۤءُ وَلَا ٱلۡأَمۡوَ ٰتُۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ یُسۡمِعُ مَن یَشَاۤءُۖ وَمَاۤ أَنتَ بِمُسۡمِعࣲ مَّن فِی ٱلۡقُبُورِ ۝٢٢

M. Farook Malik

nor the living and the dead. Certainly Allah can make anyone hear if He so wills; but, O Prophet, you cannot make those who are in the graves hear you

wamā yastawī l-aḥyāu walā l-amwātu inna l-laha yus'miʿu man yashāu wamā anta bimus'miʿin man fī l-qubūr

إِنۡ أَنتَ إِلَّا نَذِیرٌ ۝٢٣

M. Farook Malik

You are nothing but a Warner

in anta illā nadhīru

إِنَّاۤ أَرۡسَلۡنَـٰكَ بِٱلۡحَقِّ بَشِیرࣰا وَنَذِیرࣰاۚ وَإِن مِّنۡ أُمَّةٍ إِلَّا خَلَا فِیهَا نَذِیرࣱ ۝٢٤

M. Farook Malik

Certainly We have sent you (O Muhammad) with the Truth as a bearer of good news and as a Warner, for there has not been a nation which has not had a Warner

innā arsalnāka bil-ḥaqi bashīran wanadhīran wa-in min ummatin illā khalā fīhā nadhīru

وَإِن یُكَذِّبُوكَ فَقَدۡ كَذَّبَ ٱلَّذِینَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡ جَاۤءَتۡهُمۡ رُسُلُهُم بِٱلۡبَیِّنَـٰتِ وَبِٱلزُّبُرِ وَبِٱلۡكِتَـٰبِ ٱلۡمُنِیرِ ۝٢٥

M. Farook Malik

If they disbelieve you, know that their predecessors also disbelieved their Messengers who came to them with clear signs, scriptures and the light-giving Book

wa-in yukadhibūka faqad kadhaba alladhīna min qablihim jāathum rusuluhum bil-bayināti wabil-zuburi wabil-kitābi l-munīr

ثُمَّ أَخَذۡتُ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ۖ فَكَیۡفَ كَانَ نَكِیرِ ۝٢٦

M. Farook Malik

But in the end I seized the disbelievers, and behold, how terrible was My disapproval

thumma akhadhtu alladhīna kafarū fakayfa kāna nakīr

4 The Elect

أَلَمۡ تَرَ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ أَنزَلَ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَاۤءِ مَاۤءࣰ فَأَخۡرَجۡنَا بِهِۦ ثَمَرَ ٰتࣲ مُّخۡتَلِفًا أَلۡوَ ٰنُهَاۚ وَمِنَ ٱلۡجِبَالِ جُدَدُۢ بِیضࣱ وَحُمۡرࣱ مُّخۡتَلِفٌ أَلۡوَ ٰنُهَا وَغَرَابِیبُ سُودࣱ ۝٢٧

M. Farook Malik

Do you not see that Allah sends down rain from the sky with which We bring forth fruits of various colors? Similarly, in the mountains there are streaks of various shades including white, red, jet-black rocks

alam tara anna l-laha anzala mina l-samāi māan fa-akhrajnā bihi thamarātin mukh'talifan alwānuhā wamina l-jibāli judadun bīḍun waḥum'run mukh'talifun alwānuhā wagharābību sūdu

وَمِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ وَٱلدَّوَاۤبِّ وَٱلۡأَنۡعَـٰمِ مُخۡتَلِفٌ أَلۡوَ ٰنُهُۥ كَذَ ٰلِكَۗ إِنَّمَا یَخۡشَى ٱللَّهَ مِنۡ عِبَادِهِ ٱلۡعُلَمَـٰۤؤُا۟ۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَزِیزٌ غَفُورٌ ۝٢٨

M. Farook Malik

Likewise men, beasts and cattle have their different colors. In fact, only those among His servants who possess knowledge fear Allah; surely Allah is All-Mighty, All-Forgiving

wamina l-nāsi wal-dawābi wal-anʿāmi mukh'talifun alwānuhu kadhālika innamā yakhshā l-laha min ʿibādihi l-ʿulamāu inna l-laha ʿazīzun ghafūru

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِینَ یَتۡلُونَ كِتَـٰبَ ٱللَّهِ وَأَقَامُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَأَنفَقُوا۟ مِمَّا رَزَقۡنَـٰهُمۡ سِرࣰّا وَعَلَانِیَةࣰ یَرۡجُونَ تِجَـٰرَةࣰ لَّن تَبُورَ ۝٢٩

M. Farook Malik

Surely those who recite the Book of Allah, establish Salah, spend out of what We have given them, secretly and openly, may hope for imperishable gain

inna alladhīna yatlūna kitāba l-lahi wa-aqāmū l-ṣalata wa-anfaqū mimmā razaqnāhum sirran waʿalāniyatan yarjūna tijāratan lan tabūr

لِیُوَفِّیَهُمۡ أُجُورَهُمۡ وَیَزِیدَهُم مِّن فَضۡلِهِۦۤۚ إِنَّهُۥ غَفُورࣱ شَكُورࣱ ۝٣٠

M. Farook Malik

That He may pay them back their full reward and give them even more out of His grace; surely He is Forgiving and Appreciative of His devotees

liyuwaffiyahum ujūrahum wayazīdahum min faḍlihi innahu ghafūrun shakūru

وَٱلَّذِیۤ أَوۡحَیۡنَاۤ إِلَیۡكَ مِنَ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبِ هُوَ ٱلۡحَقُّ مُصَدِّقࣰا لِّمَا بَیۡنَ یَدَیۡهِۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ بِعِبَادِهِۦ لَخَبِیرُۢ بَصِیرࣱ ۝٣١

M. Farook Malik

O Prophet, what We have revealed to you of the Book is the Truth, which confirms the previous scriptures. Surely, with respect to His servants, Allah is well Aware and fully Observant

wa-alladhī awḥaynā ilayka mina l-kitābi huwa l-ḥaqu muṣaddiqan limā bayna yadayhi inna l-laha biʿibādihi lakhabīrun baṣīru

ثُمَّ أَوۡرَثۡنَا ٱلۡكِتَـٰبَ ٱلَّذِینَ ٱصۡطَفَیۡنَا مِنۡ عِبَادِنَاۖ فَمِنۡهُمۡ ظَالِمࣱ لِّنَفۡسِهِۦ وَمِنۡهُم مُّقۡتَصِدࣱ وَمِنۡهُمۡ سَابِقُۢ بِٱلۡخَیۡرَ ٰتِ بِإِذۡنِ ٱللَّهِۚ ذَ ٰلِكَ هُوَ ٱلۡفَضۡلُ ٱلۡكَبِیرُ ۝٣٢

M. Farook Malik

We have given the Book as an inheritance to those of Our servants (Muslims) whom We have chosen, among them there are some who wrong their own souls, some follow a middle course and some, by Allah’s leave, excel in good deeds; which is the supreme virtue

thumma awrathnā l-kitāba alladhīna iṣ'ṭafaynā min ʿibādinā famin'hum ẓālimun linafsihi wamin'hum muq'taṣidun wamin'hum sābiqun bil-khayrāti bi-idh'ni l-lahi dhālika huwa l-faḍlu l-kabīr

جَنَّـٰتُ عَدۡنࣲ یَدۡخُلُونَهَا یُحَلَّوۡنَ فِیهَا مِنۡ أَسَاوِرَ مِن ذَهَبࣲ وَلُؤۡلُؤࣰاۖ وَلِبَاسُهُمۡ فِیهَا حَرِیرࣱ ۝٣٣

M. Farook Malik

They shall enter the gardens of Eden, where they shall be decked with bracelets of gold and pearls; and their dress therein will be of silk

jannātu ʿadnin yadkhulūnahā yuḥallawna fīhā min asāwira min dhahabin walu'lu-an walibāsuhum fīhā ḥarīru

وَقَالُوا۟ ٱلۡحَمۡدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِیۤ أَذۡهَبَ عَنَّا ٱلۡحَزَنَۖ إِنَّ رَبَّنَا لَغَفُورࣱ شَكُورٌ ۝٣٤

M. Farook Malik

They will say: "Praise be to Allah Who has removed all sorrow from us; Our Lord is indeed Forgiving and appreciative of His devotees

waqālū l-ḥamdu lillahi alladhī adhhaba ʿannā l-ḥazana inna rabbanā laghafūrun shakūru

ٱلَّذِیۤ أَحَلَّنَا دَارَ ٱلۡمُقَامَةِ مِن فَضۡلِهِۦ لَا یَمَسُّنَا فِیهَا نَصَبࣱ وَلَا یَمَسُّنَا فِیهَا لُغُوبࣱ ۝٣٥

M. Farook Malik

Who has admitted us to this Eternal Home out of His bounty, wherein we neither experience any toil nor sense of any weariness."

alladhī aḥallanā dāra l-muqāmati min faḍlihi lā yamassunā fīhā naṣabun walā yamassunā fīhā lughūbu

وَٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ لَهُمۡ نَارُ جَهَنَّمَ لَا یُقۡضَىٰ عَلَیۡهِمۡ فَیَمُوتُوا۟ وَلَا یُخَفَّفُ عَنۡهُم مِّنۡ عَذَابِهَاۚ كَذَ ٰلِكَ نَجۡزِی كُلَّ كَفُورࣲ ۝٣٦

M. Farook Malik

As for the disbelievers, there shall be the fire of hell, no term shall be determined for them so that they could die nor shall its punishment be ever lightened for them. Thus shall We reward every disbeliever

wa-alladhīna kafarū lahum nāru jahannama lā yuq'ḍā ʿalayhim fayamūtū walā yukhaffafu ʿanhum min ʿadhābihā kadhālika najzī kulla kafūri

وَهُمۡ یَصۡطَرِخُونَ فِیهَا رَبَّنَاۤ أَخۡرِجۡنَا نَعۡمَلۡ صَـٰلِحًا غَیۡرَ ٱلَّذِی كُنَّا نَعۡمَلُۚ أَوَ لَمۡ نُعَمِّرۡكُم مَّا یَتَذَكَّرُ فِیهِ مَن تَذَكَّرَ وَجَاۤءَكُمُ ٱلنَّذِیرُۖ فَذُوقُوا۟ فَمَا لِلظَّـٰلِمِینَ مِن نَّصِیرٍ ۝٣٧

M. Farook Malik

Therein they shall cry for help: "Our Lord! Get us out, from now on we shall do good deeds and shall not repeat the ones we used to do". The response will be: "Did we not give you lives long enough so that he who would, could take a warning? Besides, someone did come to warn you. Now taste the fruit of your deeds, here there is no helper for the wrongdoers."

wahum yaṣṭarikhūna fīhā rabbanā akhrij'nā naʿmal ṣāliḥan ghayra alladhī kunnā naʿmalu awalam nuʿammir'kum mā yatadhakkaru fīhi man tadhakkara wajāakumu l-nadhīru fadhūqū famā lilẓẓālimīna min naṣīri

5 Punishment due to evil deeds

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَـٰلِمُ غَیۡبِ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ إِنَّهُۥ عَلِیمُۢ بِذَاتِ ٱلصُّدُورِ ۝٣٨

M. Farook Malik

Surely Allah knows the unseen of the heavens and the earth, He even knows the secrets of the breasts (hidden thoughts of people)

inna l-laha ʿālimu ghaybi l-samāwāti wal-arḍi innahu ʿalīmun bidhāti l-ṣudūr

هُوَ ٱلَّذِی جَعَلَكُمۡ خَلَـٰۤىِٕفَ فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ فَمَن كَفَرَ فَعَلَیۡهِ كُفۡرُهُۥۖ وَلَا یَزِیدُ ٱلۡكَـٰفِرِینَ كُفۡرُهُمۡ عِندَ رَبِّهِمۡ إِلَّا مَقۡتࣰاۖ وَلَا یَزِیدُ ٱلۡكَـٰفِرِینَ كُفۡرُهُمۡ إِلَّا خَسَارࣰا ۝٣٩

M. Farook Malik

It is He Who has made you vicegerent on the earth. Whoever disbelieves, bears the burden of his disbelief; and for the disbelievers their disbelief does not increase anything except the wrath of their Lord and the disbelievers do not gain anything except an increase in their loss

huwa alladhī jaʿalakum khalāifa fī l-arḍi faman kafara faʿalayhi kuf'ruhu walā yazīdu l-kāfirīna kuf'ruhum ʿinda rabbihim illā maqtan walā yazīdu l-kāfirīna kuf'ruhum illā khasāra

قُلۡ أَرَءَیۡتُمۡ شُرَكَاۤءَكُمُ ٱلَّذِینَ تَدۡعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ أَرُونِی مَاذَا خَلَقُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلۡأَرۡضِ أَمۡ لَهُمۡ شِرۡكࣱ فِی ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ أَمۡ ءَاتَیۡنَـٰهُمۡ كِتَـٰبࣰا فَهُمۡ عَلَىٰ بَیِّنَتࣲ مِّنۡهُۚ بَلۡ إِن یَعِدُ ٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَ بَعۡضُهُم بَعۡضًا إِلَّا غُرُورًا ۝٤٠

M. Farook Malik

O Prophet, say: "Have you ever considered your associate gods to whom you call upon besides Allah? Show me anything that they have created in the earth! Or what is their share in the creation of the heavens? Or have We given them a Book from which they derive a provision of shirk? Nay, in fact the wrongdoers promise each other nothing but delusions

qul ara-aytum shurakāakumu alladhīna tadʿūna min dūni l-lahi arūnī mādhā khalaqū mina l-arḍi am lahum shir'kun fī l-samāwāti am ātaynāhum kitāban fahum ʿalā bayyinatin min'hu bal in yaʿidu l-ẓālimūna baʿḍuhum baʿḍan illā ghurūra

۞ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ یُمۡسِكُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ أَن تَزُولَاۚ وَلَىِٕن زَالَتَاۤ إِنۡ أَمۡسَكَهُمَا مِنۡ أَحَدࣲ مِّنۢ بَعۡدِهِۦۤۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ حَلِیمًا غَفُورࣰا ۝٤١

M. Farook Malik

It is Allah Who keeps the heavens and the earth from slipping out of their places. Should they ever slip, none can hold them back besides Him; certainly He is Most Forbearing, Oft-Forgiving

inna l-laha yum'siku l-samāwāti wal-arḍa an tazūlā wala-in zālatā in amsakahumā min aḥadin min baʿdihi innahu kāna ḥalīman ghafūra

وَأَقۡسَمُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ جَهۡدَ أَیۡمَـٰنِهِمۡ لَىِٕن جَاۤءَهُمۡ نَذِیرࣱ لَّیَكُونُنَّ أَهۡدَىٰ مِنۡ إِحۡدَى ٱلۡأُمَمِۖ فَلَمَّا جَاۤءَهُمۡ نَذِیرࣱ مَّا زَادَهُمۡ إِلَّا نُفُورًا ۝٤٢

M. Farook Malik

These very people used to swear on solemn oaths by Allah that if a Warner ever comes to them, they would be better guided than any other nation of the world; yet when a Warner has come to them they have increased in nothing but aversion

wa-aqsamū bil-lahi jahda aymānihim la-in jāahum nadhīrun layakūnunna ahdā min iḥ'dā l-umami falammā jāahum nadhīrun mā zādahum illā nufūra

ٱسۡتِكۡبَارࣰا فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَمَكۡرَ ٱلسَّیِّىِٕۚ وَلَا یَحِیقُ ٱلۡمَكۡرُ ٱلسَّیِّئُ إِلَّا بِأَهۡلِهِۦۚ فَهَلۡ یَنظُرُونَ إِلَّا سُنَّتَ ٱلۡأَوَّلِینَۚ فَلَن تَجِدَ لِسُنَّتِ ٱللَّهِ تَبۡدِیلࣰاۖ وَلَن تَجِدَ لِسُنَّتِ ٱللَّهِ تَحۡوِیلًا ۝٤٣

M. Farook Malik

behaving arrogantly in the land and plotting evil, whereas the plotting of evil recoils none but the authors of it. Are they awaiting for that end which overtook the former nations? If so, you shall find no change in the ways of Allah, nor will you find any alteration in Allah’s way of dealing

is'tik'bāran fī l-arḍi wamakra l-sayi-i walā yaḥīqu l-makru l-sayi-u illā bi-ahlihi fahal yanẓurūna illā sunnata l-awalīna falan tajida lisunnati l-lahi tabdīlan walan tajida lisunnati l-lahi taḥwīla

أَوَ لَمۡ یَسِیرُوا۟ فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِ فَیَنظُرُوا۟ كَیۡفَ كَانَ عَـٰقِبَةُ ٱلَّذِینَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡ وَكَانُوۤا۟ أَشَدَّ مِنۡهُمۡ قُوَّةࣰۚ وَمَا كَانَ ٱللَّهُ لِیُعۡجِزَهُۥ مِن شَیۡءࣲ فِی ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَلَا فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ عَلِیمࣰا قَدِیرࣰا ۝٤٤

M. Farook Malik

Have they not traveled through the land and saw what was the end of those who went before them, who were far superior in strength than these people? There is nothing in the heavens or in the earth which can frustrate Allah; surely He is All-Knowing, All-Powerful

awalam yasīrū fī l-arḍi fayanẓurū kayfa kāna ʿāqibatu alladhīna min qablihim wakānū ashadda min'hum quwwatan wamā kāna l-lahu liyuʿ'jizahu min shayin fī l-samāwāti walā fī l-arḍi innahu kāna ʿalīman qadīra

وَلَوۡ یُؤَاخِذُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلنَّاسَ بِمَا كَسَبُوا۟ مَا تَرَكَ عَلَىٰ ظَهۡرِهَا مِن دَاۤبَّةࣲ وَلَـٰكِن یُؤَخِّرُهُمۡ إِلَىٰۤ أَجَلࣲ مُّسَمࣰّىۖ فَإِذَا جَاۤءَ أَجَلُهُمۡ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ بِعِبَادِهِۦ بَصِیرَۢا ۝٤٥

M. Farook Malik

If it was Allah’s will to punish people for their misdeeds, He would have not left any living creature around them on the surface of the earth, but He is giving them respite for an appointed time; when their appointed time will come, they shall realize that in fact Allah has been watching His servants all along

walaw yuākhidhu l-lahu l-nāsa bimā kasabū mā taraka ʿalā ẓahrihā min dābbatin walākin yu-akhiruhum ilā ajalin musamman fa-idhā jāa ajaluhum fa-inna l-laha kāna biʿibādihi baṣīra
