The Troops, Throngs, The Companies — Dr Mohammad Tahir Ul Qadri Translation

أَلَا لِلَّهِ ٱلدِّینُ ٱلۡخَالِصُۚ وَٱلَّذِینَ ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ مِن دُونِهِۦۤ أَوۡلِیَاۤءَ مَا نَعۡبُدُهُمۡ إِلَّا لِیُقَرِّبُونَاۤ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ زُلۡفَىٰۤ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ یَحۡكُمُ بَیۡنَهُمۡ فِی مَا هُمۡ فِیهِ یَخۡتَلِفُونَۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا یَهۡدِی مَنۡ هُوَ كَـٰذِبࣱ كَفَّارࣱ ۝٣

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

(Say to the people:) ‘Listen! Sincere obedience and worship is only Allah’s due.’ And those (disbelievers) who have taken (idols as) helpers other than Allah (say in false justification of their idol-worship:) ‘We worship them only that they may bring us near to Allah.’ Surely, Allah will judge between them concerning the matter in which they differ. Certainly, Allah does not give guidance to the one who is a liar and highly ungrateful

alā lillahi l-dīnu l-khāliṣu wa-alladhīna ittakhadhū min dūnihi awliyāa mā naʿbuduhum illā liyuqarribūnā ilā l-lahi zul'fā inna l-laha yaḥkumu baynahum fī mā hum fīhi yakhtalifūna inna l-laha lā yahdī man huwa kādhibun kaffāru

39:4

لَّوۡ أَرَادَ ٱللَّهُ أَن یَتَّخِذَ وَلَدࣰا لَّٱصۡطَفَىٰ مِمَّا یَخۡلُقُ مَا یَشَاۤءُۚ سُبۡحَـٰنَهُۥۖ هُوَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلۡوَ ٰحِدُ ٱلۡقَهَّارُ ۝٤

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

Had Allah willed to beget children (for Himself), He would have chosen whom He liked out of His Creation. Glory be to Him, He is Allah, the One, the All-Dominant

law arāda l-lahu an yattakhidha waladan la-iṣ'ṭafā mimmā yakhluqu mā yashāu sub'ḥānahu huwa l-lahu l-wāḥidu l-qahār

39:5

خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ بِٱلۡحَقِّۖ یُكَوِّرُ ٱلَّیۡلَ عَلَى ٱلنَّهَارِ وَیُكَوِّرُ ٱلنَّهَارَ عَلَى ٱلَّیۡلِۖ وَسَخَّرَ ٱلشَّمۡسَ وَٱلۡقَمَرَۖ كُلࣱّ یَجۡرِی لِأَجَلࣲ مُّسَمًّىۗ أَلَا هُوَ ٱلۡعَزِیزُ ٱلۡغَفَّـٰرُ ۝٥

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

He created the heavens and the earth with a decreed celestial order and planning. He causes the night to overlap the day and the day to overlap the night. And He is the One Who has subjected the sun and the moon (to a system). Each (star and planet) rotates in its orbit till an appointed time. Beware! He is the One Who is All-Dominant (over the entire system), the Most Forgiving

khalaqa l-samāwāti wal-arḍa bil-ḥaqi yukawwiru al-layla ʿalā l-nahāri wayukawwiru l-nahāra ʿalā al-layli wasakhara l-shamsa wal-qamara kullun yajrī li-ajalin musamman alā huwa l-ʿazīzu l-ghafār

39:6

خَلَقَكُم مِّن نَّفۡسࣲ وَ ٰحِدَةࣲ ثُمَّ جَعَلَ مِنۡهَا زَوۡجَهَا وَأَنزَلَ لَكُم مِّنَ ٱلۡأَنۡعَـٰمِ ثَمَـٰنِیَةَ أَزۡوَ ٰجࣲۚ یَخۡلُقُكُمۡ فِی بُطُونِ أُمَّهَـٰتِكُمۡ خَلۡقࣰا مِّنۢ بَعۡدِ خَلۡقࣲ فِی ظُلُمَـٰتࣲ ثَلَـٰثࣲۚ ذَ ٰلِكُمُ ٱللَّهُ رَبُّكُمۡ لَهُ ٱلۡمُلۡكُۖ لَاۤ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَۖ فَأَنَّىٰ تُصۡرَفُونَ ۝٦

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

He has created all of you from a single life cell, and then made from it a similar pair. And then He brought about for you eight living animals in pairs. He shapes you in the wombs of your mothers from one creative phase into the next in sequence and (completes this process) in three (germinal) layers. This is Allah, your Lord, to Whom belongs all Power and Authority. There is no God except He. Where then are you deviated (and disoriented after knowing these concealed realities of creation)

khalaqakum min nafsin wāḥidatin thumma jaʿala min'hā zawjahā wa-anzala lakum mina l-anʿāmi thamāniyata azwājin yakhluqukum fī buṭūni ummahātikum khalqan min baʿdi khalqin fī ẓulumātin thalāthin dhālikumu l-lahu rabbukum lahu l-mul'ku lā ilāha illā huwa fa-annā tuṣ'rafūn

39:7

إِن تَكۡفُرُوا۟ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَنِیٌّ عَنكُمۡۖ وَلَا یَرۡضَىٰ لِعِبَادِهِ ٱلۡكُفۡرَۖ وَإِن تَشۡكُرُوا۟ یَرۡضَهُ لَكُمۡۗ وَلَا تَزِرُ وَازِرَةࣱ وِزۡرَ أُخۡرَىٰۚ ثُمَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكُم مَّرۡجِعُكُمۡ فَیُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُونَۚ إِنَّهُۥ عَلِیمُۢ بِذَاتِ ٱلصُّدُورِ ۝٧

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

If you disbelieve, then surely Allah is Self-Sufficient and He does not like disbelief (and ingratitude) for His servants, and if you give thanks, (so) He likes that for you. And no bearer of burden will bear the burden of any other. Then you have to return to your Lord. Then He will inform you of the deeds which you used to do. Surely, He knows best the secrets of the hearts

in takfurū fa-inna l-laha ghaniyyun ʿankum walā yarḍā liʿibādihi l-kuf'ra wa-in tashkurū yarḍahu lakum walā taziru wāziratun wiz'ra ukh'rā thumma ilā rabbikum marjiʿukum fayunabbi-ukum bimā kuntum taʿmalūna innahu ʿalīmun bidhāti l-ṣudūr

39:8

۞ وَإِذَا مَسَّ ٱلۡإِنسَـٰنَ ضُرࣱّ دَعَا رَبَّهُۥ مُنِیبًا إِلَیۡهِ ثُمَّ إِذَا خَوَّلَهُۥ نِعۡمَةࣰ مِّنۡهُ نَسِیَ مَا كَانَ یَدۡعُوۤا۟ إِلَیۡهِ مِن قَبۡلُ وَجَعَلَ لِلَّهِ أَندَادࣰا لِّیُضِلَّ عَن سَبِیلِهِۦۚ قُلۡ تَمَتَّعۡ بِكُفۡرِكَ قَلِیلًا إِنَّكَ مِنۡ أَصۡحَـٰبِ ٱلنَّارِ ۝٨

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And when some suffering afflicts man, he turns to his Lord and cries out. Then when (Allah) grants him some blessing from Himself, he forgets that (suffering) which he used to beseech relief from. And (then) he sets up (idols) as partners with Allah to make (others also) lose His way. Say: ‘(O disbeliever,) profit a little (worldly gain) from your disbelief; you are certainly of the inmates of Hell

wa-idhā massa l-insāna ḍurrun daʿā rabbahu munīban ilayhi thumma idhā khawwalahu niʿ'matan min'hu nasiya mā kāna yadʿū ilayhi min qablu wajaʿala lillahi andādan liyuḍilla ʿan sabīlihi qul tamattaʿ bikuf'rika qalīlan innaka min aṣḥābi l-nār

39:9

أَمَّنۡ هُوَ قَـٰنِتٌ ءَانَاۤءَ ٱلَّیۡلِ سَاجِدࣰا وَقَاۤىِٕمࣰا یَحۡذَرُ ٱلۡءَاخِرَةَ وَیَرۡجُوا۟ رَحۡمَةَ رَبِّهِۦۗ قُلۡ هَلۡ یَسۡتَوِی ٱلَّذِینَ یَعۡلَمُونَ وَٱلَّذِینَ لَا یَعۡلَمُونَۗ إِنَّمَا یَتَذَكَّرُ أُو۟لُوا۟ ٱلۡأَلۡبَـٰبِ ۝٩

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

Well! (Is this polytheist better or) that (believer) who worships during the hours of the night standing and in prostration, lives in fear of the Hereafter and expects mercy from his Lord?’ Say: ‘Can those who have knowledge and those who do not be alike?’ So only the wise do receive the admonition

amman huwa qānitun ānāa al-layli sājidan waqāiman yaḥdharu l-ākhirata wayarjū raḥmata rabbihi qul hal yastawī alladhīna yaʿlamūna wa-alladhīna lā yaʿlamūna innamā yatadhakkaru ulū l-albāb

39:10

قُلۡ یَـٰعِبَادِ ٱلَّذِینَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱتَّقُوا۟ رَبَّكُمۡۚ لِلَّذِینَ أَحۡسَنُوا۟ فِی هَـٰذِهِ ٱلدُّنۡیَا حَسَنَةࣱۗ وَأَرۡضُ ٱللَّهِ وَ ٰسِعَةٌۗ إِنَّمَا یُوَفَّى ٱلصَّـٰبِرُونَ أَجۡرَهُم بِغَیۡرِ حِسَابࣲ ۝١٠

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

(O Beloved,) say (on My behalf), ‘O My servants, you who have believed, adopt Godwariness; it is for the men of spiritual excellence in this world that there is excellent reward. And Allah’s earth is vast. So the steadfast will certainly be given their reward without measure.

qul yāʿibādi alladhīna āmanū ittaqū rabbakum lilladhīna aḥsanū fī hādhihi l-dun'yā ḥasanatun wa-arḍu l-lahi wāsiʿatun innamā yuwaffā l-ṣābirūna ajrahum bighayri ḥisābi

39:11

قُلۡ إِنِّیۤ أُمِرۡتُ أَنۡ أَعۡبُدَ ٱللَّهَ مُخۡلِصࣰا لَّهُ ٱلدِّینَ ۝١١

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

Say: ‘I have been commanded to worship Allah in sincerest obedience and devotion to Him alone.

qul innī umir'tu an aʿbuda l-laha mukh'liṣan lahu l-dīn

39:12

وَأُمِرۡتُ لِأَنۡ أَكُونَ أَوَّلَ ٱلۡمُسۡلِمِینَ ۝١٢

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And I was (also) commanded to become the first Muslim of all (His creation)

wa-umir'tu li-an akūna awwala l-mus'limīn

39:13

قُلۡ إِنِّیۤ أَخَافُ إِنۡ عَصَیۡتُ رَبِّی عَذَابَ یَوۡمٍ عَظِیمࣲ ۝١٣

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

Say: ‘If I disobeyed My Lord, I would fear the torment of a Terrible Day.

qul innī akhāfu in ʿaṣaytu rabbī ʿadhāba yawmin ʿaẓīmi

39:14

قُلِ ٱللَّهَ أَعۡبُدُ مُخۡلِصࣰا لَّهُۥ دِینِی ۝١٤

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

Say: ‘I worship Allah alone making obedience purely for Him

quli l-laha aʿbudu mukh'liṣan lahu dīn

39:15

فَٱعۡبُدُوا۟ مَا شِئۡتُم مِّن دُونِهِۦۗ قُلۡ إِنَّ ٱلۡخَـٰسِرِینَ ٱلَّذِینَ خَسِرُوۤا۟ أَنفُسَهُمۡ وَأَهۡلِیهِمۡ یَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِیَـٰمَةِۗ أَلَا ذَ ٰلِكَ هُوَ ٱلۡخُسۡرَانُ ٱلۡمُبِینُ ۝١٥

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

So worship what you like besides Allah.’ Say: ‘Surely, losers are only those who will bring loss to their own souls and their families on the Day of Resurrection. Remember! That truly is the manifest loss

fa-uʿ'budū mā shi'tum min dūnihi qul inna l-khāsirīna alladhīna khasirū anfusahum wa-ahlīhim yawma l-qiyāmati alā dhālika huwa l-khus'rānu l-mubīn

39:16

لَهُم مِّن فَوۡقِهِمۡ ظُلَلࣱ مِّنَ ٱلنَّارِ وَمِن تَحۡتِهِمۡ ظُلَلࣱۚ ذَ ٰلِكَ یُخَوِّفُ ٱللَّهُ بِهِۦ عِبَادَهُۥۚ یَـٰعِبَادِ فَٱتَّقُونِ ۝١٦

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

For them there will be clouds of fire (as covers) over them and pavements of fire beneath them too. This is (the torment) with which Allah warns His servants.’ O My servants! Always fear Me

lahum min fawqihim ẓulalun mina l-nāri wamin taḥtihim ẓulalun dhālika yukhawwifu l-lahu bihi ʿibādahu yāʿibādi fa-ittaqūn

39:17

وَٱلَّذِینَ ٱجۡتَنَبُوا۟ ٱلطَّـٰغُوتَ أَن یَعۡبُدُوهَا وَأَنَابُوۤا۟ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ لَهُمُ ٱلۡبُشۡرَىٰۚ فَبَشِّرۡ عِبَادِ ۝١٧

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And those who kept off from idol-worship and turned to Allah, for them is good news. So give glad tidings to My servants

wa-alladhīna ij'tanabū l-ṭāghūta an yaʿbudūhā wa-anābū ilā l-lahi lahumu l-bush'rā fabashir ʿibād

39:18

ٱلَّذِینَ یَسۡتَمِعُونَ ٱلۡقَوۡلَ فَیَتَّبِعُونَ أَحۡسَنَهُۥۤۚ أُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ ٱلَّذِینَ هَدَىٰهُمُ ٱللَّهُۖ وَأُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ هُمۡ أُو۟لُوا۟ ٱلۡأَلۡبَـٰبِ ۝١٨

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

Those who listen attentively to what is said, then follow the best in it, it is they whom Allah has given guidance, and it is they who have wisdom

alladhīna yastamiʿūna l-qawla fayattabiʿūna aḥsanahu ulāika alladhīna hadāhumu l-lahu wa-ulāika hum ulū l-albāb

39:19

أَفَمَنۡ حَقَّ عَلَیۡهِ كَلِمَةُ ٱلۡعَذَابِ أَفَأَنتَ تُنقِذُ مَن فِی ٱلنَّارِ ۝١٩

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

But can you save him for whom the command of torment has become due and who has become the inmate of Hell (for ever)

afaman ḥaqqa ʿalayhi kalimatu l-ʿadhābi afa-anta tunqidhu man fī l-nār

39:20

لَـٰكِنِ ٱلَّذِینَ ٱتَّقَوۡا۟ رَبَّهُمۡ لَهُمۡ غُرَفࣱ مِّن فَوۡقِهَا غُرَفࣱ مَّبۡنِیَّةࣱ تَجۡرِی مِن تَحۡتِهَا ٱلۡأَنۡهَـٰرُۖ وَعۡدَ ٱللَّهِ لَا یُخۡلِفُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلۡمِیعَادَ ۝٢٠

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

But for those who fear their Lord are lofty palaces (in Paradise) with lofty mansions built over and rivers flowing beneath. This is Allah’s promise. Allah does not go against His promise

lākini alladhīna ittaqaw rabbahum lahum ghurafun min fawqihā ghurafun mabniyyatun tajrī min taḥtihā l-anhāru waʿda l-lahi lā yukh'lifu l-lahu l-mīʿād

39:21

أَلَمۡ تَرَ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ أَنزَلَ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَاۤءِ مَاۤءࣰ فَسَلَكَهُۥ یَنَـٰبِیعَ فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِ ثُمَّ یُخۡرِجُ بِهِۦ زَرۡعࣰا مُّخۡتَلِفًا أَلۡوَ ٰنُهُۥ ثُمَّ یَهِیجُ فَتَرَىٰهُ مُصۡفَرࣰّا ثُمَّ یَجۡعَلُهُۥ حُطَـٰمًاۚ إِنَّ فِی ذَ ٰلِكَ لَذِكۡرَىٰ لِأُو۟لِی ٱلۡأَلۡبَـٰبِ ۝٢١

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

(O man!) Have you not seen that Allah showered water from the sky, then made it sprout from the earth as water springs? Then He brings forth with it crops of various colours. Then (growing fully) it dries up. Then, (ripening,) you see it turns yellow. Then He reduces it to broken straw. Surely, there is advice in it for the wise

alam tara anna l-laha anzala mina l-samāi māan fasalakahu yanābīʿa fī l-arḍi thumma yukh'riju bihi zarʿan mukh'talifan alwānuhu thumma yahīju fatarāhu muṣ'farran thumma yajʿaluhu ḥuṭāman inna fī dhālika ladhik'rā li-ulī l-albāb

39:22

أَفَمَن شَرَحَ ٱللَّهُ صَدۡرَهُۥ لِلۡإِسۡلَـٰمِ فَهُوَ عَلَىٰ نُورࣲ مِّن رَّبِّهِۦۚ فَوَیۡلࣱ لِّلۡقَـٰسِیَةِ قُلُوبُهُم مِّن ذِكۡرِ ٱللَّهِۚ أُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ فِی ضَلَـٰلࣲ مُّبِینٍ ۝٢٢

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

Well! He whose breast Allah has opened for Islam is (stationed) in the light from his Lord. (But on the contrary) those whose hearts are hardened for (being deprived of the bounty of) Allah’s remembrance are destined to ruin. It is they who are in open error

afaman sharaḥa l-lahu ṣadrahu lil'is'lāmi fahuwa ʿalā nūrin min rabbihi fawaylun lil'qāsiyati qulūbuhum min dhik'ri l-lahi ulāika fī ḍalālin mubīni

39:23

ٱللَّهُ نَزَّلَ أَحۡسَنَ ٱلۡحَدِیثِ كِتَـٰبࣰا مُّتَشَـٰبِهࣰا مَّثَانِیَ تَقۡشَعِرُّ مِنۡهُ جُلُودُ ٱلَّذِینَ یَخۡشَوۡنَ رَبَّهُمۡ ثُمَّ تَلِینُ جُلُودُهُمۡ وَقُلُوبُهُمۡ إِلَىٰ ذِكۡرِ ٱللَّهِۚ ذَ ٰلِكَ هُدَى ٱللَّهِ یَهۡدِی بِهِۦ مَن یَشَاۤءُۚ وَمَن یُضۡلِلِ ٱللَّهُ فَمَا لَهُۥ مِنۡ هَادٍ ۝٢٣

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

Allah is the One Who has sent down the best Word. That is a Book whose contents are in harmony with one another (in format and meaning) and (whose Verses) are repeated frequently. It sends a hair-raising shudder in the bodies of those who fear their Lord. Then their skins and hearts get softened, and they get (absorbed) into the remembrance of Allah (in a weeping mood). It is guidance from Allah and He guides with it whom He wills. And he whom Allah holds misguided (i.e., leaves astray) has no one to guide him

al-lahu nazzala aḥsana l-ḥadīthi kitāban mutashābihan mathāniya taqshaʿirru min'hu julūdu alladhīna yakhshawna rabbahum thumma talīnu julūduhum waqulūbuhum ilā dhik'ri l-lahi dhālika hudā l-lahi yahdī bihi man yashāu waman yuḍ'lili l-lahu famā lahu min hādi

39:24

أَفَمَن یَتَّقِی بِوَجۡهِهِۦ سُوۤءَ ٱلۡعَذَابِ یَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِیَـٰمَةِۚ وَقِیلَ لِلظَّـٰلِمِینَ ذُوقُوا۟ مَا كُنتُمۡ تَكۡسِبُونَ ۝٢٤

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

Well, on the Day of Resurrection, (what will be the plight of the one) who will be trying to halt the evil torment (of the Fire) with his face (because both his hands will be fastened)? And it will be said to these wrongdoers: ‘Taste the consequence of the evil deeds that you used to do.

afaman yattaqī biwajhihi sūa l-ʿadhābi yawma l-qiyāmati waqīla lilẓẓālimīna dhūqū mā kuntum taksibūn

39:25

كَذَّبَ ٱلَّذِینَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡ فَأَتَىٰهُمُ ٱلۡعَذَابُ مِنۡ حَیۡثُ لَا یَشۡعُرُونَ ۝٢٥

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

The people who passed before them rejected (the Messengers), so the torment came upon them whence they had no perception

kadhaba alladhīna min qablihim fa-atāhumu l-ʿadhābu min ḥaythu lā yashʿurūn

39:26

فَأَذَاقَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلۡخِزۡیَ فِی ٱلۡحَیَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنۡیَاۖ وَلَعَذَابُ ٱلۡءَاخِرَةِ أَكۡبَرُۚ لَوۡ كَانُوا۟ یَعۡلَمُونَ ۝٢٦

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

So Allah made them taste disgrace and humiliation (here) in this world, and surely the torment of the Hereafter is far greater. Would that they knew

fa-adhāqahumu l-lahu l-khiz'ya fī l-ḥayati l-dun'yā walaʿadhābu l-ākhirati akbaru law kānū yaʿlamūn

39:27

وَلَقَدۡ ضَرَبۡنَا لِلنَّاسِ فِی هَـٰذَا ٱلۡقُرۡءَانِ مِن كُلِّ مَثَلࣲ لَّعَلَّهُمۡ یَتَذَكَّرُونَ ۝٢٧

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And truly, (to make the people understand,) We have given every kind of example in this Qur’an in order that they may take advice

walaqad ḍarabnā lilnnāsi fī hādhā l-qur'āni min kulli mathalin laʿallahum yatadhakkarūn

39:28

قُرۡءَانًا عَرَبِیًّا غَیۡرَ ذِی عِوَجࣲ لَّعَلَّهُمۡ یَتَّقُونَ ۝٢٨

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

The Qur’an is in the Arabic language (which is the most comprehensive, lucid and communicative of all the languages) in which there is not even a bit of crookedness so that they may adopt Godwariness

qur'ānan ʿarabiyyan ghayra dhī ʿiwajin laʿallahum yattaqūn

39:29

ضَرَبَ ٱللَّهُ مَثَلࣰا رَّجُلࣰا فِیهِ شُرَكَاۤءُ مُتَشَـٰكِسُونَ وَرَجُلࣰا سَلَمࣰا لِّرَجُلٍ هَلۡ یَسۡتَوِیَانِ مَثَلًاۚ ٱلۡحَمۡدُ لِلَّهِۚ بَلۡ أَكۡثَرُهُمۡ لَا یَعۡلَمُونَ ۝٢٩

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

Allah has given an example of such a (slave) person that is owned by many partners who are ill-mannered and mutually quarrelsome as well. And (on the other side) there is a person who is a slave only to one master. Can they both be alike? (Not at all!) All praise belongs to Allah alone. But most of them do not know (the truth of the Oneness of Allah)

ḍaraba l-lahu mathalan rajulan fīhi shurakāu mutashākisūna warajulan salaman lirajulin hal yastawiyāni mathalan l-ḥamdu lillahi bal aktharuhum lā yaʿlamūn

39:30

إِنَّكَ مَیِّتࣱ وَإِنَّهُم مَّیِّتُونَ ۝٣٠

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

(O My Esteemed Beloved!) Surely, you will pass away (only to taste death) but they will certainly die (for everlasting death.* So the difference between the two deaths will be worth seeing)

innaka mayyitun wa-innahum mayyitūn

39:31

ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمۡ یَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِیَـٰمَةِ عِندَ رَبِّكُمۡ تَخۡتَصِمُونَ ۝٣١

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

Then, certainly, on the Day of Resurrection you will dispute with one another in the presence of your Lord. (One party will say to the other: ‘You stopped us from understanding the station of the Prophet and the glory of the Messenger.’ They will reply: ‘No, you were yourselves ill-fated and misguided.’

thumma innakum yawma l-qiyāmati ʿinda rabbikum takhtaṣimūn

39:32

۞ فَمَنۡ أَظۡلَمُ مِمَّن كَذَبَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ وَكَذَّبَ بِٱلصِّدۡقِ إِذۡ جَاۤءَهُۥۤۚ أَلَیۡسَ فِی جَهَنَّمَ مَثۡوࣰى لِّلۡكَـٰفِرِینَ ۝٣٢

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

So who is more unjust than he who invents lies against Allah and denies the truth when it comes to him? Is the abode for disbelievers not in Hell

faman aẓlamu mimman kadhaba ʿalā l-lahi wakadhaba bil-ṣid'qi idh jāahu alaysa fī jahannama mathwan lil'kāfirīn

39:33

وَٱلَّذِی جَاۤءَ بِٱلصِّدۡقِ وَصَدَّقَ بِهِۦۤ أُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ هُمُ ٱلۡمُتَّقُونَ ۝٣٣

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And whoever has brought the truth and he who has confirmed it, it is they who are Godfearing

wa-alladhī jāa bil-ṣid'qi waṣaddaqa bihi ulāika humu l-mutaqūn

39:34

لَهُم مَّا یَشَاۤءُونَ عِندَ رَبِّهِمۡۚ ذَ ٰلِكَ جَزَاۤءُ ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِینَ ۝٣٤

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

(All) those (favours) which they will long for (are in store) for them with their Lord. This is the reward of those who are committed to spiritual excellence

lahum mā yashāūna ʿinda rabbihim dhālika jazāu l-muḥ'sinīn

39:35

لِیُكَفِّرَ ٱللَّهُ عَنۡهُمۡ أَسۡوَأَ ٱلَّذِی عَمِلُوا۟ وَیَجۡزِیَهُمۡ أَجۡرَهُم بِأَحۡسَنِ ٱلَّذِی كَانُوا۟ یَعۡمَلُونَ ۝٣٥

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

So that Allah removes from them errors which they did, and grants them the reward for the pious deeds they used to do

liyukaffira l-lahu ʿanhum aswa-a alladhī ʿamilū wayajziyahum ajrahum bi-aḥsani alladhī kānū yaʿmalūn

39:36

أَلَیۡسَ ٱللَّهُ بِكَافٍ عَبۡدَهُۥۖ وَیُخَوِّفُونَكَ بِٱلَّذِینَ مِن دُونِهِۦۚ وَمَن یُضۡلِلِ ٱللَّهُ فَمَا لَهُۥ مِنۡ هَادࣲ ۝٣٦

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

Is Allah not enough for His (most intimate) servant (the Esteemed Prophet [blessings and peace be upon him])? And these (disbelievers) frighten you, apart from Allah, with the idols (which they worship). And there is no one to guide him whom Allah holds astray (owing to his denial of the truth)

alaysa l-lahu bikāfin ʿabdahu wayukhawwifūnaka bi-alladhīna min dūnihi waman yuḍ'lili l-lahu famā lahu min hādi

39:37

وَمَن یَهۡدِ ٱللَّهُ فَمَا لَهُۥ مِن مُّضِلٍّۗ أَلَیۡسَ ٱللَّهُ بِعَزِیزࣲ ذِی ٱنتِقَامࣲ ۝٣٧

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And he whom Allah blesses with guidance, there is none to misguide him. Is Allah not Almighty, the Lord of Vengeance

waman yahdi l-lahu famā lahu min muḍillin alaysa l-lahu biʿazīzin dhī intiqāmi

39:38

وَلَىِٕن سَأَلۡتَهُم مَّنۡ خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ لَیَقُولُنَّ ٱللَّهُۚ قُلۡ أَفَرَءَیۡتُم مَّا تَدۡعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ إِنۡ أَرَادَنِیَ ٱللَّهُ بِضُرٍّ هَلۡ هُنَّ كَـٰشِفَـٰتُ ضُرِّهِۦۤ أَوۡ أَرَادَنِی بِرَحۡمَةٍ هَلۡ هُنَّ مُمۡسِكَـٰتُ رَحۡمَتِهِۦۚ قُلۡ حَسۡبِیَ ٱللَّهُۖ عَلَیۡهِ یَتَوَكَّلُ ٱلۡمُتَوَكِّلُونَ ۝٣٨

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And if you ask them: ‘Who has created the heavens and the earth?’ they will certainly say: ‘Allah.’ Say: ‘Well, speak up, can the idols that you worship besides Allah remove the suffering which Allah may intend to inflict upon me, or if Allah intends to grant me mercy, can they (the idols) stop that mercy (sent by Him)?’ Say: ‘Allah is Sufficient for me. The trusting ones put their trust in Him alone.

wala-in sa-altahum man khalaqa l-samāwāti wal-arḍa layaqūlunna l-lahu qul afara-aytum mā tadʿūna min dūni l-lahi in arādaniya l-lahu biḍurrin hal hunna kāshifātu ḍurrihi aw arādanī biraḥmatin hal hunna mum'sikātu raḥmatihi qul ḥasbiya l-lahu ʿalayhi yatawakkalu l-mutawakilūn

39:39

قُلۡ یَـٰقَوۡمِ ٱعۡمَلُوا۟ عَلَىٰ مَكَانَتِكُمۡ إِنِّی عَـٰمِلࣱۖ فَسَوۡفَ تَعۡلَمُونَ ۝٣٩

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

Say: ‘O (my) people! Carry on working according to your way; I am working (according to my way). Then you will soon know (the end)

qul yāqawmi iʿ'malū ʿalā makānatikum innī ʿāmilun fasawfa taʿlamūn

39:40

مَن یَأۡتِیهِ عَذَابࣱ یُخۡزِیهِ وَیَحِلُّ عَلَیۡهِ عَذَابࣱ مُّقِیمٌ ۝٤٠

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

(That) who is afflicted with the torment that will disgrace him, and everlasting torment will come down upon him.

man yatīhi ʿadhābun yukh'zīhi wayaḥillu ʿalayhi ʿadhābun muqīmu

39:41

إِنَّاۤ أَنزَلۡنَا عَلَیۡكَ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبَ لِلنَّاسِ بِٱلۡحَقِّۖ فَمَنِ ٱهۡتَدَىٰ فَلِنَفۡسِهِۦۖ وَمَن ضَلَّ فَإِنَّمَا یَضِلُّ عَلَیۡهَاۖ وَمَاۤ أَنتَ عَلَیۡهِم بِوَكِیلٍ ۝٤١

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

Surely, We revealed the Book to you with the truth for (the guidance of) people. So he who takes guidance takes it for his own benefit, and he who goes astray, he strays to his own detriment. And you are not responsible for them

innā anzalnā ʿalayka l-kitāba lilnnāsi bil-ḥaqi famani ih'tadā falinafsihi waman ḍalla fa-innamā yaḍillu ʿalayhā wamā anta ʿalayhim biwakīli

39:42

ٱللَّهُ یَتَوَفَّى ٱلۡأَنفُسَ حِینَ مَوۡتِهَا وَٱلَّتِی لَمۡ تَمُتۡ فِی مَنَامِهَاۖ فَیُمۡسِكُ ٱلَّتِی قَضَىٰ عَلَیۡهَا ٱلۡمَوۡتَ وَیُرۡسِلُ ٱلۡأُخۡرَىٰۤ إِلَىٰۤ أَجَلࣲ مُّسَمًّىۚ إِنَّ فِی ذَ ٰلِكَ لَءَایَـٰتࣲ لِّقَوۡمࣲ یَتَفَكَّرُونَ ۝٤٢

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

Allah takes away souls at the time of their death and those whose death has not yet arrived during their sleep. Then He withholds those souls whose death He has ordained and sets other (souls) free till an appointed time. Surely, in it are signs for those who contemplate

al-lahu yatawaffā l-anfusa ḥīna mawtihā wa-allatī lam tamut fī manāmihā fayum'siku allatī qaḍā ʿalayhā l-mawta wayur'silu l-ukh'rā ilā ajalin musamman inna fī dhālika laāyātin liqawmin yatafakkarūn

39:43

أَمِ ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ شُفَعَاۤءَۚ قُلۡ أَوَ لَوۡ كَانُوا۟ لَا یَمۡلِكُونَ شَیۡءࣰا وَلَا یَعۡقِلُونَ ۝٤٣

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

Have they taken (idols as) intercessors against Allah’s leave? Say: ‘Even though they do not own anything, nor do they have any reason?

ami ittakhadhū min dūni l-lahi shufaʿāa qul awalaw kānū lā yamlikūna shayan walā yaʿqilūn

39:44

قُل لِّلَّهِ ٱلشَّفَـٰعَةُ جَمِیعࣰاۖ لَّهُۥ مُلۡكُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۖ ثُمَّ إِلَیۡهِ تُرۡجَعُونَ ۝٤٤

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

Say: ‘(The leave for) all intercession rests with Allah alone (which He has specified for His intimate servants). The sovereignty of the heavens and the earth also belongs to Him alone. Then to Him you will be returned.

qul lillahi l-shafāʿatu jamīʿan lahu mul'ku l-samāwāti wal-arḍi thumma ilayhi tur'jaʿūn

39:45

وَإِذَا ذُكِرَ ٱللَّهُ وَحۡدَهُ ٱشۡمَأَزَّتۡ قُلُوبُ ٱلَّذِینَ لَا یُؤۡمِنُونَ بِٱلۡءَاخِرَةِۖ وَإِذَا ذُكِرَ ٱلَّذِینَ مِن دُونِهِۦۤ إِذَا هُمۡ یَسۡتَبۡشِرُونَ ۝٤٥

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And when Allah alone is mentioned, the hearts of those who do not believe in the Hereafter constrict and recoil with disgust, and when the idols (that they worship) are mentioned apart from Allah, they rejoice all of a sudden

wa-idhā dhukira l-lahu waḥdahu ish'ma-azzat qulūbu alladhīna lā yu'minūna bil-ākhirati wa-idhā dhukira alladhīna min dūnihi idhā hum yastabshirūn

39:46

قُلِ ٱللَّهُمَّ فَاطِرَ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ عَـٰلِمَ ٱلۡغَیۡبِ وَٱلشَّهَـٰدَةِ أَنتَ تَحۡكُمُ بَیۡنَ عِبَادِكَ فِی مَا كَانُوا۟ فِیهِ یَخۡتَلِفُونَ ۝٤٦

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

Say: ‘O Allah! Originator of the heavens and the earth! Knower of the unseen and the seen! You alone will judge between Your servants those (matters) wherein they used to disagree.

quli l-lahuma fāṭira l-samāwāti wal-arḍi ʿālima l-ghaybi wal-shahādati anta taḥkumu bayna ʿibādika fī mā kānū fīhi yakhtalifūn

39:47

وَلَوۡ أَنَّ لِلَّذِینَ ظَلَمُوا۟ مَا فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِ جَمِیعࣰا وَمِثۡلَهُۥ مَعَهُۥ لَٱفۡتَدَوۡا۟ بِهِۦ مِن سُوۤءِ ٱلۡعَذَابِ یَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِیَـٰمَةِۚ وَبَدَا لَهُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ مَا لَمۡ یَكُونُوا۟ یَحۡتَسِبُونَ ۝٤٧

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And if the wrongdoers possessed all (the wealth and assets) that are on earth and (obtained) the same again in addition, they would ransom themselves with it (for deliverance) from the evil torment on the Day of Resurrection. But there will appear to them from Allah such a torment as they could never have even imagined

walaw anna lilladhīna ẓalamū mā fī l-arḍi jamīʿan wamith'lahu maʿahu la-if'tadaw bihi min sūi l-ʿadhābi yawma l-qiyāmati wabadā lahum mina l-lahi mā lam yakūnū yaḥtasibūn

39:48

وَبَدَا لَهُمۡ سَیِّءَاتُ مَا كَسَبُوا۟ وَحَاقَ بِهِم مَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ یَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَ ۝٤٨

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And there will appear to them (all) the evildoings which they have earned, and that (torment) will encompass them which they used to laugh at

wabadā lahum sayyiātu mā kasabū waḥāqa bihim mā kānū bihi yastahziūn

39:49

فَإِذَا مَسَّ ٱلۡإِنسَـٰنَ ضُرࣱّ دَعَانَا ثُمَّ إِذَا خَوَّلۡنَـٰهُ نِعۡمَةࣰ مِّنَّا قَالَ إِنَّمَاۤ أُوتِیتُهُۥ عَلَىٰ عِلۡمِۭۚ بَلۡ هِیَ فِتۡنَةࣱ وَلَـٰكِنَّ أَكۡثَرَهُمۡ لَا یَعۡلَمُونَ ۝٤٩

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

When some suffering touches man, he cries to Us. But when We grant him some favour from Us, he starts saying: ‘This favour has come to me on (the basis of my own) knowledge and planning.’ In fact, it is a trial, but most of them do not know

fa-idhā massa l-insāna ḍurrun daʿānā thumma idhā khawwalnāhu niʿ'matan minnā qāla innamā ūtītuhu ʿalā ʿil'min bal hiya fit'natun walākinna aktharahum lā yaʿlamūn

39:50

قَدۡ قَالَهَا ٱلَّذِینَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡ فَمَاۤ أَغۡنَىٰ عَنۡهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ یَكۡسِبُونَ ۝٥٠

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

In truth, those who have passed away before them also used to say the same (things). So whatever they earned could not benefit them

qad qālahā alladhīna min qablihim famā aghnā ʿanhum mā kānū yaksibūn

39:51

فَأَصَابَهُمۡ سَیِّءَاتُ مَا كَسَبُوا۟ۚ وَٱلَّذِینَ ظَلَمُوا۟ مِنۡ هَـٰۤؤُلَاۤءِ سَیُصِیبُهُمۡ سَیِّءَاتُ مَا كَسَبُوا۟ وَمَا هُم بِمُعۡجِزِینَ ۝٥١

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And the evil deeds which they had done fell upon them, and those of them who are engaged in doing wrongs, their evil works that they have earned will (also) catch up with them soon and they cannot prevent (Allah)

fa-aṣābahum sayyiātu mā kasabū wa-alladhīna ẓalamū min hāulāi sayuṣībuhum sayyiātu mā kasabū wamā hum bimuʿ'jizīn

39:52

أَوَ لَمۡ یَعۡلَمُوۤا۟ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ یَبۡسُطُ ٱلرِّزۡقَ لِمَن یَشَاۤءُ وَیَقۡدِرُۚ إِنَّ فِی ذَ ٰلِكَ لَءَایَـٰتࣲ لِّقَوۡمࣲ یُؤۡمِنُونَ ۝٥٢

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And do they not know that Allah gives abundantly to whom He wills and sparingly (to whom He wills)? Surely, in that are signs for those who (truly) believe

awalam yaʿlamū anna l-laha yabsuṭu l-riz'qa liman yashāu wayaqdiru inna fī dhālika laāyātin liqawmin yu'minūn

39:53

۞ قُلۡ یَـٰعِبَادِیَ ٱلَّذِینَ أَسۡرَفُوا۟ عَلَىٰۤ أَنفُسِهِمۡ لَا تَقۡنَطُوا۟ مِن رَّحۡمَةِ ٱللَّهِۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ یَغۡفِرُ ٱلذُّنُوبَ جَمِیعًاۚ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلۡغَفُورُ ٱلرَّحِیمُ ۝٥٣

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

Say: ‘O servants of Mine who have wronged their souls, do not lose hope of Allah’s mercy. Assuredly, Allah forgives all sins (and excesses). He is certainly Most Forgiving, Ever-Merciful

qul yāʿibādiya alladhīna asrafū ʿalā anfusihim lā taqnaṭū min raḥmati l-lahi inna l-laha yaghfiru l-dhunūba jamīʿan innahu huwa l-ghafūru l-raḥīm

39:54

وَأَنِیبُوۤا۟ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكُمۡ وَأَسۡلِمُوا۟ لَهُۥ مِن قَبۡلِ أَن یَأۡتِیَكُمُ ٱلۡعَذَابُ ثُمَّ لَا تُنصَرُونَ ۝٥٤

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And turn to your Lord in repentance and total submission and become thoroughly obedient to Him before the torment comes upon you. Then you will not be helped at all

wa-anībū ilā rabbikum wa-aslimū lahu min qabli an yatiyakumu l-ʿadhābu thumma lā tunṣarūn

39:55

وَٱتَّبِعُوۤا۟ أَحۡسَنَ مَاۤ أُنزِلَ إِلَیۡكُم مِّن رَّبِّكُم مِّن قَبۡلِ أَن یَأۡتِیَكُمُ ٱلۡعَذَابُ بَغۡتَةࣰ وَأَنتُمۡ لَا تَشۡعُرُونَ ۝٥٥

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And follow the Excellent (Book) that has been revealed to you by your Lord before the torment suddenly comes upon you and you are simply unaware

wa-ittabiʿū aḥsana mā unzila ilaykum min rabbikum min qabli an yatiyakumu l-ʿadhābu baghtatan wa-antum lā tashʿurūn

39:56

أَن تَقُولَ نَفۡسࣱ یَـٰحَسۡرَتَىٰ عَلَىٰ مَا فَرَّطتُ فِی جَنۢبِ ٱللَّهِ وَإِن كُنتُ لَمِنَ ٱلسَّـٰخِرِینَ ۝٥٦

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

(Lest) someone should say: ‘Alas! Woe to me for my lapse and neglect of my duty (of obedience) to Allah and I was certainly of those who mocked.

an taqūla nafsun yāḥasratā ʿalā mā farraṭtu fī janbi l-lahi wa-in kuntu lamina l-sākhirīn

39:57

أَوۡ تَقُولَ لَوۡ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ هَدَىٰنِی لَكُنتُ مِنَ ٱلۡمُتَّقِینَ ۝٥٧

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

Or should say: ‘If Allah had given me guidance, I would certainly have been of the righteous.

aw taqūla law anna l-laha hadānī lakuntu mina l-mutaqīn

39:58

أَوۡ تَقُولَ حِینَ تَرَى ٱلۡعَذَابَ لَوۡ أَنَّ لِی كَرَّةࣰ فَأَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِینَ ۝٥٨

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

Or should say on seeing the torment: ‘Would that I was able to return to the world but once, I would then become one of the pious.

aw taqūla ḥīna tarā l-ʿadhāba law anna lī karratan fa-akūna mina l-muḥ'sinīn

39:59

بَلَىٰ قَدۡ جَاۤءَتۡكَ ءَایَـٰتِی فَكَذَّبۡتَ بِهَا وَٱسۡتَكۡبَرۡتَ وَكُنتَ مِنَ ٱلۡكَـٰفِرِینَ ۝٥٩

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

(The Lord will say:) ‘Yes, no doubt, My Revelations came to you. So you rejected them and showed arrogance and became one of the disbelievers.

balā qad jāatka āyātī fakadhabta bihā wa-is'takbarta wakunta mina l-kāfirīn

39:60

وَیَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِیَـٰمَةِ تَرَى ٱلَّذِینَ كَذَبُوا۟ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ وُجُوهُهُم مُّسۡوَدَّةٌۚ أَلَیۡسَ فِی جَهَنَّمَ مَثۡوࣰى لِّلۡمُتَكَبِّرِینَ ۝٦٠

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And on the Day of Resurrection, you will see those who have fabricated a lie against Allah that their faces are darkened. Is the abode of the arrogant not in Hell

wayawma l-qiyāmati tarā alladhīna kadhabū ʿalā l-lahi wujūhuhum mus'waddatun alaysa fī jahannama mathwan lil'mutakabbirīn

39:61

وَیُنَجِّی ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِینَ ٱتَّقَوۡا۟ بِمَفَازَتِهِمۡ لَا یَمَسُّهُمُ ٱلسُّوۤءُ وَلَا هُمۡ یَحۡزَنُونَ ۝٦١

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And those who have adopted Godwariness, Allah will deliver them bestowing success on them. No evil will touch them, nor will they grieve at all

wayunajjī l-lahu alladhīna ittaqaw bimafāzatihim lā yamassuhumu l-sūu walā hum yaḥzanūn

39:62

ٱللَّهُ خَـٰلِقُ كُلِّ شَیۡءࣲۖ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَیۡءࣲ وَكِیلࣱ ۝٦٢

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

Allah is the Creator of everything and He is Ever-Watchful over everything

al-lahu khāliqu kulli shayin wahuwa ʿalā kulli shayin wakīlu

39:63

لَّهُۥ مَقَالِیدُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۗ وَٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ بِءَایَـٰتِ ٱللَّهِ أُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ هُمُ ٱلۡخَـٰسِرُونَ ۝٦٣

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

To Him alone belong the keys of the heavens and the earth, and those who disbelieve in the Revelations of Allah, it is they who are the losers

lahu maqālīdu l-samāwāti wal-arḍi wa-alladhīna kafarū biāyāti l-lahi ulāika humu l-khāsirūn

39:64

قُلۡ أَفَغَیۡرَ ٱللَّهِ تَأۡمُرُوۤنِّیۤ أَعۡبُدُ أَیُّهَا ٱلۡجَـٰهِلُونَ ۝٦٤

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

Say: ‘O you ignoramuses, do you ask me to worship someone other than Allah?

qul afaghayra l-lahi tamurūnnī aʿbudu ayyuhā l-jāhilūn

39:65

وَلَقَدۡ أُوحِیَ إِلَیۡكَ وَإِلَى ٱلَّذِینَ مِن قَبۡلِكَ لَىِٕنۡ أَشۡرَكۡتَ لَیَحۡبَطَنَّ عَمَلُكَ وَلَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلۡخَـٰسِرِینَ ۝٦٥

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And in truth (this) revelation has been sent to you and to those (Messengers as well) who were (raised) before you: ‘(O man,) if you associate partners with Allah, then all your works will go to waste, and you will certainly be amongst the losers.

walaqad ūḥiya ilayka wa-ilā alladhīna min qablika la-in ashrakta layaḥbaṭanna ʿamaluka walatakūnanna mina l-khāsirīn

39:66

بَلِ ٱللَّهَ فَٱعۡبُدۡ وَكُن مِّنَ ٱلشَّـٰكِرِینَ ۝٦٦

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

So, worship Allah and be amongst the thankful

bali l-laha fa-uʿ'bud wakun mina l-shākirīn

39:67

وَمَا قَدَرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ حَقَّ قَدۡرِهِۦ وَٱلۡأَرۡضُ جَمِیعࣰا قَبۡضَتُهُۥ یَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِیَـٰمَةِ وَٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتُ مَطۡوِیَّـٰتُۢ بِیَمِینِهِۦۚ سُبۡحَـٰنَهُۥ وَتَعَـٰلَىٰ عَمَّا یُشۡرِكُونَ ۝٦٧

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And they did not realize true appreciation and veneration of Allah’s Glory as was due. And the whole earth will be in His grip on the Day of Resurrection, and all the heavenly spheres will be rolled up in His right hand (i.e., firm hold of His Might). Holy is He and High and Exalted above all that they associate with Him

wamā qadarū l-laha ḥaqqa qadrihi wal-arḍu jamīʿan qabḍatuhu yawma l-qiyāmati wal-samāwātu maṭwiyyātun biyamīnihi sub'ḥānahu wataʿālā ʿammā yush'rikūn

39:68

وَنُفِخَ فِی ٱلصُّورِ فَصَعِقَ مَن فِی ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَمَن فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِ إِلَّا مَن شَاۤءَ ٱللَّهُۖ ثُمَّ نُفِخَ فِیهِ أُخۡرَىٰ فَإِذَا هُمۡ قِیَامࣱ یَنظُرُونَ ۝٦٨

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And the Trumpet will be blown. Then all the people that are in the heavens and that are in the earth will become senseless except him whom Allah wills. Then the Trumpet will be blown again; so they will stand up gazing all at once

wanufikha fī l-ṣūri faṣaʿiqa man fī l-samāwāti waman fī l-arḍi illā man shāa l-lahu thumma nufikha fīhi ukh'rā fa-idhā hum qiyāmun yanẓurūn

39:69

وَأَشۡرَقَتِ ٱلۡأَرۡضُ بِنُورِ رَبِّهَا وَوُضِعَ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبُ وَجِا۟یۤءَ بِٱلنَّبِیِّـۧنَ وَٱلشُّهَدَاۤءِ وَقُضِیَ بَیۡنَهُم بِٱلۡحَقِّ وَهُمۡ لَا یُظۡلَمُونَ ۝٦٩

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And the earth (on the Day of Judgment) will be illumined with the Light of its Lord, and the Book (of everyone’s deeds) will be laid down. And the Prophets and the witnesses will be brought, and judgment will be given between the people with truth and justice. And they will not be done any wrong

wa-ashraqati l-arḍu binūri rabbihā wawuḍiʿa l-kitābu wajīa bil-nabiyīna wal-shuhadāi waquḍiya baynahum bil-ḥaqi wahum lā yuẓ'lamūn

39:70

وَوُفِّیَتۡ كُلُّ نَفۡسࣲ مَّا عَمِلَتۡ وَهُوَ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَا یَفۡعَلُونَ ۝٧٠

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And everyone will be given recompense in full for his doings, and He Knows full well what they do

wawuffiyat kullu nafsin mā ʿamilat wahuwa aʿlamu bimā yafʿalūn

39:71

وَسِیقَ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوۤا۟ إِلَىٰ جَهَنَّمَ زُمَرًاۖ حَتَّىٰۤ إِذَا جَاۤءُوهَا فُتِحَتۡ أَبۡوَ ٰبُهَا وَقَالَ لَهُمۡ خَزَنَتُهَاۤ أَلَمۡ یَأۡتِكُمۡ رُسُلࣱ مِّنكُمۡ یَتۡلُونَ عَلَیۡكُمۡ ءَایَـٰتِ رَبِّكُمۡ وَیُنذِرُونَكُمۡ لِقَاۤءَ یَوۡمِكُمۡ هَـٰذَاۚ قَالُوا۟ بَلَىٰ وَلَـٰكِنۡ حَقَّتۡ كَلِمَةُ ٱلۡعَذَابِ عَلَى ٱلۡكَـٰفِرِینَ ۝٧١

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And those who have disbelieved will be driven to Hell in groups until, when they approach it (Hell), its gates will be opened and its keepers will say to them: ‘Did Messengers not come to you from amongst yourselves who recited to you the Verses of your Lord and warned you of this Day’s appearance?’ They (the inmates of Hell) will say: ‘Yes, (they came).’ But the command of torment will have been carried out against the disbelievers

wasīqa alladhīna kafarū ilā jahannama zumaran ḥattā idhā jāūhā futiḥat abwābuhā waqāla lahum khazanatuhā alam yatikum rusulun minkum yatlūna ʿalaykum āyāti rabbikum wayundhirūnakum liqāa yawmikum hādhā qālū balā walākin ḥaqqat kalimatu l-ʿadhābi ʿalā l-kāfirīn

39:72

قِیلَ ٱدۡخُلُوۤا۟ أَبۡوَ ٰبَ جَهَنَّمَ خَـٰلِدِینَ فِیهَاۖ فَبِئۡسَ مَثۡوَى ٱلۡمُتَكَبِّرِینَ ۝٧٢

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

It will be said to them: ‘Enter the gates of Hell. (You) will live in it for ever. So how evil is the abode of the arrogant!

qīla ud'khulū abwāba jahannama khālidīna fīhā fabi'sa mathwā l-mutakabirīn

39:73

وَسِیقَ ٱلَّذِینَ ٱتَّقَوۡا۟ رَبَّهُمۡ إِلَى ٱلۡجَنَّةِ زُمَرًاۖ حَتَّىٰۤ إِذَا جَاۤءُوهَا وَفُتِحَتۡ أَبۡوَ ٰبُهَا وَقَالَ لَهُمۡ خَزَنَتُهَا سَلَـٰمٌ عَلَیۡكُمۡ طِبۡتُمۡ فَٱدۡخُلُوهَا خَـٰلِدِینَ ۝٧٣

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And those who persisted in fear of Allah will (also) be conducted to Paradise in groups until, when they approach it (Paradise), its doors will have been opened for them (well before) and the keepers of Paradise will say, (greeting them): ‘Peace be upon you! Be glad and rejoice, and enter it to dwell here forever.

wasīqa alladhīna ittaqaw rabbahum ilā l-janati zumaran ḥattā idhā jāūhā wafutiḥat abwābuhā waqāla lahum khazanatuhā salāmun ʿalaykum ṭib'tum fa-ud'khulūhā khālidīn

39:74

وَقَالُوا۟ ٱلۡحَمۡدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِی صَدَقَنَا وَعۡدَهُۥ وَأَوۡرَثَنَا ٱلۡأَرۡضَ نَتَبَوَّأُ مِنَ ٱلۡجَنَّةِ حَیۡثُ نَشَاۤءُۖ فَنِعۡمَ أَجۡرُ ٱلۡعَـٰمِلِینَ ۝٧٤

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And they (the residents of Paradise) will say: ‘All praise belongs to Allah alone, Who has fulfilled His promise to us, and has made us inheritors of the land of Paradise that we may reside in (this) Paradise wherever we desire.’ So how excellent is the reward of those who do righteous acts

waqālū l-ḥamdu lillahi alladhī ṣadaqanā waʿdahu wa-awrathanā l-arḍa natabawwa-u mina l-janati ḥaythu nashāu faniʿ'ma ajru l-ʿāmilīn

39:75

وَتَرَى ٱلۡمَلَـٰۤىِٕكَةَ حَاۤفِّینَ مِنۡ حَوۡلِ ٱلۡعَرۡشِ یُسَبِّحُونَ بِحَمۡدِ رَبِّهِمۡۚ وَقُضِیَ بَیۡنَهُم بِٱلۡحَقِّۚ وَقِیلَ ٱلۡحَمۡدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَـٰلَمِینَ ۝٧٥

Dr. Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

And, (O Beloved,) you will see the angels all around the Throne in circles glorifying the Lord with His praise, and the judgment will be given amongst (all) the people with truth and justice and it will be announced: ‘All praise belongs to Allah alone, the Sustainer of all the worlds.

watarā l-malāikata ḥāffīna min ḥawli l-ʿarshi yusabbiḥūna biḥamdi rabbihim waquḍiya baynahum bil-ḥaqi waqīla l-ḥamdu lillahi rabbi l-ʿālamīn
