1 Truth of Revelation

Ali Quli Qara'i

تَنزِیلُ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبِ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلۡعَزِیزِ ٱلۡحَكِیمِ ۝٢

Ali Quli Qara'i

The [gradual] sending down of the Book is from Allah, the All-mighty, the All-wise

tanzīlu l-kitābi mina l-lahi l-ʿazīzi l-ḥakīm

مَا خَلَقۡنَا ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ وَمَا بَیۡنَهُمَاۤ إِلَّا بِٱلۡحَقِّ وَأَجَلࣲ مُّسَمࣰّىۚ وَٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ عَمَّاۤ أُنذِرُوا۟ مُعۡرِضُونَ ۝٣

Ali Quli Qara'i

We did not create the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them except with reason and for a specified term. Yet the faithless are disregardful of what they are warned

mā khalaqnā l-samāwāti wal-arḍa wamā baynahumā illā bil-ḥaqi wa-ajalin musamman wa-alladhīna kafarū ʿammā undhirū muʿ'riḍūn

قُلۡ أَرَءَیۡتُم مَّا تَدۡعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ أَرُونِی مَاذَا خَلَقُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلۡأَرۡضِ أَمۡ لَهُمۡ شِرۡكࣱ فِی ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِۖ ٱئۡتُونِی بِكِتَـٰبࣲ مِّن قَبۡلِ هَـٰذَاۤ أَوۡ أَثَـٰرَةࣲ مِّنۡ عِلۡمٍ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَـٰدِقِینَ ۝٤

Ali Quli Qara'i

Say, ‘Tell me about what you invoke besides Allah. Show me what [part] of the earth have they created. Do they have any share in the heavens? Bring me a scripture [revealed] before this, or some vestige of [divine] knowledge, should you be truthful.’

qul ara-aytum mā tadʿūna min dūni l-lahi arūnī mādhā khalaqū mina l-arḍi am lahum shir'kun fī l-samāwāti i'tūnī bikitābin min qabli hādhā aw athāratin min ʿil'min in kuntum ṣādiqīn

وَمَنۡ أَضَلُّ مِمَّن یَدۡعُوا۟ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مَن لَّا یَسۡتَجِیبُ لَهُۥۤ إِلَىٰ یَوۡمِ ٱلۡقِیَـٰمَةِ وَهُمۡ عَن دُعَاۤىِٕهِمۡ غَـٰفِلُونَ ۝٥

Ali Quli Qara'i

Who is more astray than him who invokes besides Allah such as would not respond to him until the Day of Resurrection, and who are oblivious of their invocation

waman aḍallu mimman yadʿū min dūni l-lahi man lā yastajību lahu ilā yawmi l-qiyāmati wahum ʿan duʿāihim ghāfilūn

وَإِذَا حُشِرَ ٱلنَّاسُ كَانُوا۟ لَهُمۡ أَعۡدَاۤءࣰ وَكَانُوا۟ بِعِبَادَتِهِمۡ كَـٰفِرِینَ ۝٦

Ali Quli Qara'i

When mankind are mustered [on Judgement’s Day] they will be their enemies, and they will disavow their worship

wa-idhā ḥushira l-nāsu kānū lahum aʿdāan wakānū biʿibādatihim kāfirīn

وَإِذَا تُتۡلَىٰ عَلَیۡهِمۡ ءَایَـٰتُنَا بَیِّنَـٰتࣲ قَالَ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ لِلۡحَقِّ لَمَّا جَاۤءَهُمۡ هَـٰذَا سِحۡرࣱ مُّبِینٌ ۝٧

Ali Quli Qara'i

When Our manifest signs are recited to them, the faithless say of the truth when it comes to them: ‘This is plain magic.’

wa-idhā tut'lā ʿalayhim āyātunā bayyinātin qāla alladhīna kafarū lil'ḥaqqi lammā jāahum hādhā siḥ'run mubīnu

أَمۡ یَقُولُونَ ٱفۡتَرَىٰهُۖ قُلۡ إِنِ ٱفۡتَرَیۡتُهُۥ فَلَا تَمۡلِكُونَ لِی مِنَ ٱللَّهِ شَیۡءًاۖ هُوَ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَا تُفِیضُونَ فِیهِۚ كَفَىٰ بِهِۦ شَهِیدَۢا بَیۡنِی وَبَیۡنَكُمۡۖ وَهُوَ ٱلۡغَفُورُ ٱلرَّحِیمُ ۝٨

Ali Quli Qara'i

Do they say, ‘He has fabricated it?’ Say, ‘Should I have fabricated it, you would not avail me anything against Allah. He best knows what you gossip concerning it. He suffices as a witness between me and you, and He is the All-forgiving, the All-merciful.’

am yaqūlūna if'tarāhu qul ini if'taraytuhu falā tamlikūna lī mina l-lahi shayan huwa aʿlamu bimā tufīḍūna fīhi kafā bihi shahīdan baynī wabaynakum wahuwa l-ghafūru l-raḥīm

قُلۡ مَا كُنتُ بِدۡعࣰا مِّنَ ٱلرُّسُلِ وَمَاۤ أَدۡرِی مَا یُفۡعَلُ بِی وَلَا بِكُمۡۖ إِنۡ أَتَّبِعُ إِلَّا مَا یُوحَىٰۤ إِلَیَّ وَمَاۤ أَنَا۠ إِلَّا نَذِیرࣱ مُّبِینࣱ ۝٩

Ali Quli Qara'i

Say, ‘I am not a novelty among the apostles, nor do I know what will be done with me, or with you. I just follow whatever is revealed to me, and I am just a manifest warner.’

qul mā kuntu bid'ʿan mina l-rusuli wamā adrī mā yuf'ʿalu bī walā bikum in attabiʿu illā mā yūḥā ilayya wamā anā illā nadhīrun mubīnu

قُلۡ أَرَءَیۡتُمۡ إِن كَانَ مِنۡ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ وَكَفَرۡتُم بِهِۦ وَشَهِدَ شَاهِدࣱ مِّنۢ بَنِیۤ إِسۡرَ ٰۤءِیلَ عَلَىٰ مِثۡلِهِۦ فَءَامَنَ وَٱسۡتَكۡبَرۡتُمۡۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا یَهۡدِی ٱلۡقَوۡمَ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِینَ ۝١٠

Ali Quli Qara'i

Say, ‘Tell me, if it is from Allah and you disbelieve in it, and a witness from the Children of Israel has testified to its like and believed [in it], while you are disdainful [of it]?’ Indeed Allah does not guide the wrongdoing lot

qul ara-aytum in kāna min ʿindi l-lahi wakafartum bihi washahida shāhidun min banī is'rāīla ʿalā mith'lihi faāmana wa-is'takbartum inna l-laha lā yahdī l-qawma l-ẓālimīn

2 Witness of Truth

وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ لِلَّذِینَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَوۡ كَانَ خَیۡرࣰا مَّا سَبَقُونَاۤ إِلَیۡهِۚ وَإِذۡ لَمۡ یَهۡتَدُوا۟ بِهِۦ فَسَیَقُولُونَ هَـٰذَاۤ إِفۡكࣱ قَدِیمࣱ ۝١١

Ali Quli Qara'i

The faithless say about the faithful, ‘Had it been [anything] good, they would not have taken the lead over us toward [accepting] it.’ And since they could not find the way to it, they will say, ‘It is an ancient lie.’

waqāla alladhīna kafarū lilladhīna āmanū law kāna khayran mā sabaqūnā ilayhi wa-idh lam yahtadū bihi fasayaqūlūna hādhā if'kun qadīmu

وَمِن قَبۡلِهِۦ كِتَـٰبُ مُوسَىٰۤ إِمَامࣰا وَرَحۡمَةࣰۚ وَهَـٰذَا كِتَـٰبࣱ مُّصَدِّقࣱ لِّسَانًا عَرَبِیࣰّا لِّیُنذِرَ ٱلَّذِینَ ظَلَمُوا۟ وَبُشۡرَىٰ لِلۡمُحۡسِنِینَ ۝١٢

Ali Quli Qara'i

Yet before it the Book of Moses was a guide and a mercy, and this is a Book which confirms it, in the Arabic language, to warn those who do wrong, and is a [bearer of] good news for the virtuous

wamin qablihi kitābu mūsā imāman waraḥmatan wahādhā kitābun muṣaddiqun lisānan ʿarabiyyan liyundhira alladhīna ẓalamū wabush'rā lil'muḥ'sinīn

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِینَ قَالُوا۟ رَبُّنَا ٱللَّهُ ثُمَّ ٱسۡتَقَـٰمُوا۟ فَلَا خَوۡفٌ عَلَیۡهِمۡ وَلَا هُمۡ یَحۡزَنُونَ ۝١٣

Ali Quli Qara'i

Indeed those who say, ‘Our Lord is Allah,’ and then remain steadfast, they will have no fear, nor will they grieve

inna alladhīna qālū rabbunā l-lahu thumma is'taqāmū falā khawfun ʿalayhim walā hum yaḥzanūn

أُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ أَصۡحَـٰبُ ٱلۡجَنَّةِ خَـٰلِدِینَ فِیهَا جَزَاۤءَۢ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ یَعۡمَلُونَ ۝١٤

Ali Quli Qara'i

They shall be the inhabitants of paradise, remaining in it [forever] —a reward for what they used to do

ulāika aṣḥābu l-janati khālidīna fīhā jazāan bimā kānū yaʿmalūn

وَوَصَّیۡنَا ٱلۡإِنسَـٰنَ بِوَ ٰلِدَیۡهِ إِحۡسَـٰنًاۖ حَمَلَتۡهُ أُمُّهُۥ كُرۡهࣰا وَوَضَعَتۡهُ كُرۡهࣰاۖ وَحَمۡلُهُۥ وَفِصَـٰلُهُۥ ثَلَـٰثُونَ شَهۡرًاۚ حَتَّىٰۤ إِذَا بَلَغَ أَشُدَّهُۥ وَبَلَغَ أَرۡبَعِینَ سَنَةࣰ قَالَ رَبِّ أَوۡزِعۡنِیۤ أَنۡ أَشۡكُرَ نِعۡمَتَكَ ٱلَّتِیۤ أَنۡعَمۡتَ عَلَیَّ وَعَلَىٰ وَ ٰلِدَیَّ وَأَنۡ أَعۡمَلَ صَـٰلِحࣰا تَرۡضَىٰهُ وَأَصۡلِحۡ لِی فِی ذُرِّیَّتِیۤۖ إِنِّی تُبۡتُ إِلَیۡكَ وَإِنِّی مِنَ ٱلۡمُسۡلِمِینَ ۝١٥

Ali Quli Qara'i

We have enjoined man to be kind to his parents. His mother has carried him in travail, and bore him in travail, and his gestation and weaning take thirty months. When he comes of age and reaches forty years, he says, ‘My Lord! Inspire me to give thanks for Your blessing with which You have blessed me and my parents, and that I may do righteous deeds which may please You, and invest my descendants with righteousness. Indeed I have turned to you in penitence, and I am one of the muslims.’

wawaṣṣaynā l-insāna biwālidayhi iḥ'sānan ḥamalathu ummuhu kur'han wawaḍaʿathu kur'han waḥamluhu wafiṣāluhu thalāthūna shahran ḥattā idhā balagha ashuddahu wabalagha arbaʿīna sanatan qāla rabbi awziʿ'nī an ashkura niʿ'mataka allatī anʿamta ʿalayya waʿalā wālidayya wa-an aʿmala ṣāliḥan tarḍāhu wa-aṣliḥ lī fī dhurriyyatī innī tub'tu ilayka wa-innī mina l-mus'limīn

أُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ ٱلَّذِینَ نَتَقَبَّلُ عَنۡهُمۡ أَحۡسَنَ مَا عَمِلُوا۟ وَنَتَجَاوَزُ عَن سَیِّءَاتِهِمۡ فِیۤ أَصۡحَـٰبِ ٱلۡجَنَّةِۖ وَعۡدَ ٱلصِّدۡقِ ٱلَّذِی كَانُوا۟ یُوعَدُونَ ۝١٦

Ali Quli Qara'i

Such are the ones from whom We accept the best of what they do, and overlook their misdeeds, [who will be] among the inhabitants of paradise —a true promise which they had been given

ulāika alladhīna nataqabbalu ʿanhum aḥsana mā ʿamilū wanatajāwazu ʿan sayyiātihim fī aṣḥābi l-janati waʿda l-ṣid'qi alladhī kānū yūʿadūn

وَٱلَّذِی قَالَ لِوَ ٰلِدَیۡهِ أُفࣲّ لَّكُمَاۤ أَتَعِدَانِنِیۤ أَنۡ أُخۡرَجَ وَقَدۡ خَلَتِ ٱلۡقُرُونُ مِن قَبۡلِی وَهُمَا یَسۡتَغِیثَانِ ٱللَّهَ وَیۡلَكَ ءَامِنۡ إِنَّ وَعۡدَ ٱللَّهِ حَقࣱّ فَیَقُولُ مَا هَـٰذَاۤ إِلَّاۤ أَسَـٰطِیرُ ٱلۡأَوَّلِینَ ۝١٧

Ali Quli Qara'i

As for him who says to his parents, ‘Fie on you! Do you promise me that I shall be raised [from the dead] when generations have passed away before me?’ And they invoke Allah’s help [and say]: ‘Woe to you! Believe! Indeed Allah’s promise is true.’ But he says, ‘These are nothing but myths of the ancients.’

wa-alladhī qāla liwālidayhi uffin lakumā ataʿidāninī an ukh'raja waqad khalati l-qurūnu min qablī wahumā yastaghīthāni l-laha waylaka āmin inna waʿda l-lahi ḥaqqun fayaqūlu mā hādhā illā asāṭīru l-awalīn

أُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ ٱلَّذِینَ حَقَّ عَلَیۡهِمُ ٱلۡقَوۡلُ فِیۤ أُمَمࣲ قَدۡ خَلَتۡ مِن قَبۡلِهِم مِّنَ ٱلۡجِنِّ وَٱلۡإِنسِۖ إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُوا۟ خَـٰسِرِینَ ۝١٨

Ali Quli Qara'i

Such are the ones against whom the word became due concerning the nations that have passed away before them of jinn and humans. They were indeed the losers

ulāika alladhīna ḥaqqa ʿalayhimu l-qawlu fī umamin qad khalat min qablihim mina l-jini wal-insi innahum kānū khāsirīn

وَلِكُلࣲّ دَرَجَـٰتࣱ مِّمَّا عَمِلُوا۟ۖ وَلِیُوَفِّیَهُمۡ أَعۡمَـٰلَهُمۡ وَهُمۡ لَا یُظۡلَمُونَ ۝١٩

Ali Quli Qara'i

For each [person] there will be degrees [of merit] pertaining to what he has done, that He may recompense them fully for their works, and they will not be wronged

walikullin darajātun mimmā ʿamilū waliyuwaffiyahum aʿmālahum wahum lā yuẓ'lamūn

وَیَوۡمَ یُعۡرَضُ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ عَلَى ٱلنَّارِ أَذۡهَبۡتُمۡ طَیِّبَـٰتِكُمۡ فِی حَیَاتِكُمُ ٱلدُّنۡیَا وَٱسۡتَمۡتَعۡتُم بِهَا فَٱلۡیَوۡمَ تُجۡزَوۡنَ عَذَابَ ٱلۡهُونِ بِمَا كُنتُمۡ تَسۡتَكۡبِرُونَ فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِ بِغَیۡرِ ٱلۡحَقِّ وَبِمَا كُنتُمۡ تَفۡسُقُونَ ۝٢٠

Ali Quli Qara'i

The day when the faithless are exposed to the Fire, [they will be told,] ‘You have exhausted your good things in the life of the world and enjoyed them. So today you will be requited with a humiliating punishment for your acting arrogantly in the earth unduly, and because you used to transgress.’

wayawma yuʿ'raḍu alladhīna kafarū ʿalā l-nāri adhhabtum ṭayyibātikum fī ḥayātikumu l-dun'yā wa-is'tamtaʿtum bihā fal-yawma tuj'zawna ʿadhāba l-hūni bimā kuntum tastakbirūna fī l-arḍi bighayri l-ḥaqi wabimā kuntum tafsuqūn

3 The Fate of 'Ad

۞ وَٱذۡكُرۡ أَخَا عَادٍ إِذۡ أَنذَرَ قَوۡمَهُۥ بِٱلۡأَحۡقَافِ وَقَدۡ خَلَتِ ٱلنُّذُرُ مِنۢ بَیۡنِ یَدَیۡهِ وَمِنۡ خَلۡفِهِۦۤ أَلَّا تَعۡبُدُوۤا۟ إِلَّا ٱللَّهَ إِنِّیۤ أَخَافُ عَلَیۡكُمۡ عَذَابَ یَوۡمٍ عَظِیمࣲ ۝٢١

Ali Quli Qara'i

And mention [Hud] the brother of ‘a€d, when he warned his people at Aá¸¥qaf —and warners have passed away before and after him— saying, ‘Do not worship anyone but Allah. Indeed I fear for you the punishment of a tremendous day.’

wa-udh'kur akhā ʿādin idh andhara qawmahu bil-aḥqāfi waqad khalati l-nudhuru min bayni yadayhi wamin khalfihi allā taʿbudū illā l-laha innī akhāfu ʿalaykum ʿadhāba yawmin ʿaẓīmi

قَالُوۤا۟ أَجِئۡتَنَا لِتَأۡفِكَنَا عَنۡ ءَالِهَتِنَا فَأۡتِنَا بِمَا تَعِدُنَاۤ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِینَ ۝٢٢

Ali Quli Qara'i

They said, ‘Have you come to turn us away from our gods? Then bring us what you threaten us with, should you be truthful

qālū aji'tanā litafikanā ʿan ālihatinā fatinā bimā taʿidunā in kunta mina l-ṣādiqīn

قَالَ إِنَّمَا ٱلۡعِلۡمُ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ وَأُبَلِّغُكُم مَّاۤ أُرۡسِلۡتُ بِهِۦ وَلَـٰكِنِّیۤ أَرَىٰكُمۡ قَوۡمࣰا تَجۡهَلُونَ ۝٢٣

Ali Quli Qara'i

He said, ‘The knowledge is with Allah alone. I communicate to you what I have been sent with. But I see that you are a senseless lot.’

qāla innamā l-ʿil'mu ʿinda l-lahi wa-uballighukum mā ur'sil'tu bihi walākinnī arākum qawman tajhalūn

فَلَمَّا رَأَوۡهُ عَارِضࣰا مُّسۡتَقۡبِلَ أَوۡدِیَتِهِمۡ قَالُوا۟ هَـٰذَا عَارِضࣱ مُّمۡطِرُنَاۚ بَلۡ هُوَ مَا ٱسۡتَعۡجَلۡتُم بِهِۦۖ رِیحࣱ فِیهَا عَذَابٌ أَلِیمࣱ ۝٢٤

Ali Quli Qara'i

When they saw it as a cloud advancing toward their valleys, they said, ‘This cloud brings us rain.’ ‘Rather it is what you sought to hasten: a hurricane carrying a painful punishment

falammā ra-awhu ʿāriḍan mus'taqbila awdiyatihim qālū hādhā ʿāriḍun mum'ṭirunā bal huwa mā is'taʿjaltum bihi rīḥun fīhā ʿadhābun alīmu

تُدَمِّرُ كُلَّ شَیۡءِۭ بِأَمۡرِ رَبِّهَا فَأَصۡبَحُوا۟ لَا یُرَىٰۤ إِلَّا مَسَـٰكِنُهُمۡۚ كَذَ ٰلِكَ نَجۡزِی ٱلۡقَوۡمَ ٱلۡمُجۡرِمِینَ ۝٢٥

Ali Quli Qara'i

destroying everything by its Lord’s command.’ So they became such that nothing could be seen except their dwellings. Thus do We requite the guilty lot

tudammiru kulla shayin bi-amri rabbihā fa-aṣbaḥū lā yurā illā masākinuhum kadhālika najzī l-qawma l-muj'rimīn

وَلَقَدۡ مَكَّنَّـٰهُمۡ فِیمَاۤ إِن مَّكَّنَّـٰكُمۡ فِیهِ وَجَعَلۡنَا لَهُمۡ سَمۡعࣰا وَأَبۡصَـٰرࣰا وَأَفۡءِدَةࣰ فَمَاۤ أَغۡنَىٰ عَنۡهُمۡ سَمۡعُهُمۡ وَلَاۤ أَبۡصَـٰرُهُمۡ وَلَاۤ أَفۡءِدَتُهُم مِّن شَیۡءٍ إِذۡ كَانُوا۟ یَجۡحَدُونَ بِءَایَـٰتِ ٱللَّهِ وَحَاقَ بِهِم مَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ یَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَ ۝٢٦

Ali Quli Qara'i

Certainly We had granted them power in respects that We have not granted you, and We had vested them with hearing and sight and hearts. But neither their hearing availed them nor did their sight, nor their hearts, in any way when they used to impugn the signs of Allah. So they were besieged by what they used to deride

walaqad makkannāhum fīmā in makkannākum fīhi wajaʿalnā lahum samʿan wa-abṣāran wa-afidatan famā aghnā ʿanhum samʿuhum walā abṣāruhum walā afidatuhum min shayin idh kānū yajḥadūna biāyāti l-lahi waḥāqa bihim mā kānū bihi yastahziūn

4 A Warning

وَلَقَدۡ أَهۡلَكۡنَا مَا حَوۡلَكُم مِّنَ ٱلۡقُرَىٰ وَصَرَّفۡنَا ٱلۡءَایَـٰتِ لَعَلَّهُمۡ یَرۡجِعُونَ ۝٢٧

Ali Quli Qara'i

Certainly We destroyed towns that were around you, and We have paraphrased the signs so that they may come back

walaqad ahlaknā mā ḥawlakum mina l-qurā waṣarrafnā l-āyāti laʿallahum yarjiʿūn

فَلَوۡلَا نَصَرَهُمُ ٱلَّذِینَ ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ قُرۡبَانًا ءَالِهَةَۢۖ بَلۡ ضَلُّوا۟ عَنۡهُمۡۚ وَذَ ٰلِكَ إِفۡكُهُمۡ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ یَفۡتَرُونَ ۝٢٨

Ali Quli Qara'i

So why did not those [false gods] help them whom they had taken, besides Allah, as gods, as means of nearness [to Him]? Rather they forsook them; and that was their lie and what they used to fabricate

falawlā naṣarahumu alladhīna ittakhadhū min dūni l-lahi qur'bānan ālihatan bal ḍallū ʿanhum wadhālika if'kuhum wamā kānū yaftarūn

وَإِذۡ صَرَفۡنَاۤ إِلَیۡكَ نَفَرࣰا مِّنَ ٱلۡجِنِّ یَسۡتَمِعُونَ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ فَلَمَّا حَضَرُوهُ قَالُوۤا۟ أَنصِتُوا۟ۖ فَلَمَّا قُضِیَ وَلَّوۡا۟ إِلَىٰ قَوۡمِهِم مُّنذِرِینَ ۝٢٩

Ali Quli Qara'i

When We dispatched toward you a team of jinn listening to the Qur’an, when they were in its presence, they said, ‘Be silent!’ When it was finished, they went back to their people as warners

wa-idh ṣarafnā ilayka nafaran mina l-jini yastamiʿūna l-qur'āna falammā ḥaḍarūhu qālū anṣitū falammā quḍiya wallaw ilā qawmihim mundhirīn

قَالُوا۟ یَـٰقَوۡمَنَاۤ إِنَّا سَمِعۡنَا كِتَـٰبًا أُنزِلَ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ مُوسَىٰ مُصَدِّقࣰا لِّمَا بَیۡنَ یَدَیۡهِ یَهۡدِیۤ إِلَى ٱلۡحَقِّ وَإِلَىٰ طَرِیقࣲ مُّسۡتَقِیمࣲ ۝٣٠

Ali Quli Qara'i

They said, ‘O our people! Indeed we have heard a Book which has been sent down after Moses, confirming what was before it. It guides to the truth and to a straight path

qālū yāqawmanā innā samiʿ'nā kitāban unzila min baʿdi mūsā muṣaddiqan limā bayna yadayhi yahdī ilā l-ḥaqi wa-ilā ṭarīqin mus'taqīmi

یَـٰقَوۡمَنَاۤ أَجِیبُوا۟ دَاعِیَ ٱللَّهِ وَءَامِنُوا۟ بِهِۦ یَغۡفِرۡ لَكُم مِّن ذُنُوبِكُمۡ وَیُجِرۡكُم مِّنۡ عَذَابٍ أَلِیمࣲ ۝٣١

Ali Quli Qara'i

O our people! Respond to Allah’s summoner and have faith in Him. He will forgive you some of your sins and shelter you from a painful punishment.’

yāqawmanā ajībū dāʿiya l-lahi waāminū bihi yaghfir lakum min dhunūbikum wayujir'kum min ʿadhābin alīmi

وَمَن لَّا یُجِبۡ دَاعِیَ ٱللَّهِ فَلَیۡسَ بِمُعۡجِزࣲ فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَلَیۡسَ لَهُۥ مِن دُونِهِۦۤ أَوۡلِیَاۤءُۚ أُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ فِی ضَلَـٰلࣲ مُّبِینٍ ۝٣٢

Ali Quli Qara'i

Those who do not respond to Allah’s summoner cannot thwart [Allah] on the earth, and they will not find any protectors besides Him. They are in manifest error

waman lā yujib dāʿiya l-lahi falaysa bimuʿ'jizin fī l-arḍi walaysa lahu min dūnihi awliyāu ulāika fī ḍalālin mubīni

أَوَ لَمۡ یَرَوۡا۟ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ ٱلَّذِی خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ وَلَمۡ یَعۡیَ بِخَلۡقِهِنَّ بِقَـٰدِرٍ عَلَىٰۤ أَن یُحۡـِۧیَ ٱلۡمَوۡتَىٰۚ بَلَىٰۤۚ إِنَّهُۥ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَیۡءࣲ قَدِیرࣱ ۝٣٣

Ali Quli Qara'i

Do they not see that Allah, who created the heavens and the earth and [who] was not exhausted by their creation, is able to revive the dead? Yes, indeed He has power over all things

awalam yaraw anna l-laha alladhī khalaqa l-samāwāti wal-arḍa walam yaʿya bikhalqihinna biqādirin ʿalā an yuḥ'yiya l-mawtā balā innahu ʿalā kulli shayin qadīru

وَیَوۡمَ یُعۡرَضُ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ عَلَى ٱلنَّارِ أَلَیۡسَ هَـٰذَا بِٱلۡحَقِّۖ قَالُوا۟ بَلَىٰ وَرَبِّنَاۚ قَالَ فَذُوقُوا۟ ٱلۡعَذَابَ بِمَا كُنتُمۡ تَكۡفُرُونَ ۝٣٤

Ali Quli Qara'i

The day when the faithless are exposed to the Fire, [He will say,] ‘Is this not a fact?’ They will say, ‘Yes, by our Lord!’ He will say, ‘So taste the punishment because of what you used to disbelieve.’

wayawma yuʿ'raḍu alladhīna kafarū ʿalā l-nāri alaysa hādhā bil-ḥaqi qālū balā warabbinā qāla fadhūqū l-ʿadhāba bimā kuntum takfurūn

فَٱصۡبِرۡ كَمَا صَبَرَ أُو۟لُوا۟ ٱلۡعَزۡمِ مِنَ ٱلرُّسُلِ وَلَا تَسۡتَعۡجِل لَّهُمۡۚ كَأَنَّهُمۡ یَوۡمَ یَرَوۡنَ مَا یُوعَدُونَ لَمۡ یَلۡبَثُوۤا۟ إِلَّا سَاعَةࣰ مِّن نَّهَارِۭۚ بَلَـٰغࣱۚ فَهَلۡ یُهۡلَكُ إِلَّا ٱلۡقَوۡمُ ٱلۡفَـٰسِقُونَ ۝٣٥

Ali Quli Qara'i

So be patient just as the resolute among the apostles were patient, and do not seek to hasten [the punishment] for them. The day when they see what they are promised, [it will be] as though they had remained only an hour of a day. This is a proclamation. So shall anyone be destroyed except the transgressing lot

fa-iṣ'bir kamā ṣabara ulū l-ʿazmi mina l-rusuli walā tastaʿjil lahum ka-annahum yawma yarawna mā yūʿadūna lam yalbathū illā sāʿatan min nahārin balāghun fahal yuh'laku illā l-qawmu l-fāsiqūn
