1 Truth of Revelation

M. Farook Malik

تَنزِیلُ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبِ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلۡعَزِیزِ ٱلۡحَكِیمِ ۝٢

M. Farook Malik

This Book is revealed by Allah, the All-Mighty, the All-Wise

tanzīlu l-kitābi mina l-lahi l-ʿazīzi l-ḥakīm

مَا خَلَقۡنَا ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ وَمَا بَیۡنَهُمَاۤ إِلَّا بِٱلۡحَقِّ وَأَجَلࣲ مُّسَمࣰّىۚ وَٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ عَمَّاۤ أُنذِرُوا۟ مُعۡرِضُونَ ۝٣

M. Farook Malik

We created the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them to manifest the truth and to last for an appointed term. Yet the disbelievers give no heed to Our warning

mā khalaqnā l-samāwāti wal-arḍa wamā baynahumā illā bil-ḥaqi wa-ajalin musamman wa-alladhīna kafarū ʿammā undhirū muʿ'riḍūn

قُلۡ أَرَءَیۡتُم مَّا تَدۡعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ أَرُونِی مَاذَا خَلَقُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلۡأَرۡضِ أَمۡ لَهُمۡ شِرۡكࣱ فِی ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِۖ ٱئۡتُونِی بِكِتَـٰبࣲ مِّن قَبۡلِ هَـٰذَاۤ أَوۡ أَثَـٰرَةࣲ مِّنۡ عِلۡمٍ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَـٰدِقِینَ ۝٤

M. Farook Malik

Ask them: "Have you pondered on those whom you invoke besides Allah? Show me anything that they have created in the earth, or do they have any share in the creation of the heavens? Bring me any Book revealed before this, or some remnant of divine knowledge if you are telling the truth."

qul ara-aytum mā tadʿūna min dūni l-lahi arūnī mādhā khalaqū mina l-arḍi am lahum shir'kun fī l-samāwāti i'tūnī bikitābin min qabli hādhā aw athāratin min ʿil'min in kuntum ṣādiqīn

وَمَنۡ أَضَلُّ مِمَّن یَدۡعُوا۟ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مَن لَّا یَسۡتَجِیبُ لَهُۥۤ إِلَىٰ یَوۡمِ ٱلۡقِیَـٰمَةِ وَهُمۡ عَن دُعَاۤىِٕهِمۡ غَـٰفِلُونَ ۝٥

M. Farook Malik

And who could be more astray than the one who invokes those deities besides Allah who cannot answer him till the Day of Resurrection - which, in fact, are not even aware that they are being invoked

waman aḍallu mimman yadʿū min dūni l-lahi man lā yastajību lahu ilā yawmi l-qiyāmati wahum ʿan duʿāihim ghāfilūn

وَإِذَا حُشِرَ ٱلنَّاسُ كَانُوا۟ لَهُمۡ أَعۡدَاۤءࣰ وَكَانُوا۟ بِعِبَادَتِهِمۡ كَـٰفِرِینَ ۝٦

M. Farook Malik

And when mankind shall be assembled on the Day of Judgment, they will become enemies of those who invoked them and deny their worship altogether

wa-idhā ḥushira l-nāsu kānū lahum aʿdāan wakānū biʿibādatihim kāfirīn

وَإِذَا تُتۡلَىٰ عَلَیۡهِمۡ ءَایَـٰتُنَا بَیِّنَـٰتࣲ قَالَ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ لِلۡحَقِّ لَمَّا جَاۤءَهُمۡ هَـٰذَا سِحۡرࣱ مُّبِینٌ ۝٧

M. Farook Malik

When Our revelations are recited to them, clear as they are, and the truth comes before them, the disbelievers say: "This is plain magic."

wa-idhā tut'lā ʿalayhim āyātunā bayyinātin qāla alladhīna kafarū lil'ḥaqqi lammā jāahum hādhā siḥ'run mubīnu

أَمۡ یَقُولُونَ ٱفۡتَرَىٰهُۖ قُلۡ إِنِ ٱفۡتَرَیۡتُهُۥ فَلَا تَمۡلِكُونَ لِی مِنَ ٱللَّهِ شَیۡءًاۖ هُوَ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَا تُفِیضُونَ فِیهِۚ كَفَىٰ بِهِۦ شَهِیدَۢا بَیۡنِی وَبَیۡنَكُمۡۖ وَهُوَ ٱلۡغَفُورُ ٱلرَّحِیمُ ۝٨

M. Farook Malik

Do they say that the Prophet has fabricated it himself? O Prophet, tell them: "If I have fabricated it myself, then there is nothing that you can do to protect me from the wrath of Allah. He knows fully well what you say about it. Enough is He as a witness between me and you. He is the Oft-Forgiving, the Most Merciful."

am yaqūlūna if'tarāhu qul ini if'taraytuhu falā tamlikūna lī mina l-lahi shayan huwa aʿlamu bimā tufīḍūna fīhi kafā bihi shahīdan baynī wabaynakum wahuwa l-ghafūru l-raḥīm

قُلۡ مَا كُنتُ بِدۡعࣰا مِّنَ ٱلرُّسُلِ وَمَاۤ أَدۡرِی مَا یُفۡعَلُ بِی وَلَا بِكُمۡۖ إِنۡ أَتَّبِعُ إِلَّا مَا یُوحَىٰۤ إِلَیَّ وَمَاۤ أَنَا۠ إِلَّا نَذِیرࣱ مُّبِینࣱ ۝٩

M. Farook Malik

O Prophet tell them: "I am no prodigy among the Messengers; nor do I know what will be done with me or with you. I follow only what is revealed to me, and I am no more than a plain Warner."

qul mā kuntu bid'ʿan mina l-rusuli wamā adrī mā yuf'ʿalu bī walā bikum in attabiʿu illā mā yūḥā ilayya wamā anā illā nadhīrun mubīnu

قُلۡ أَرَءَیۡتُمۡ إِن كَانَ مِنۡ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ وَكَفَرۡتُم بِهِۦ وَشَهِدَ شَاهِدࣱ مِّنۢ بَنِیۤ إِسۡرَ ٰۤءِیلَ عَلَىٰ مِثۡلِهِۦ فَءَامَنَ وَٱسۡتَكۡبَرۡتُمۡۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا یَهۡدِی ٱلۡقَوۡمَ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِینَ ۝١٠

M. Farook Malik

Further say: "Think, if this Qur’an is indeed from Allah and you reject it, when a witness (a Jew) from the Children of Israel has also testified to its similarity with earlier scriptures and has believed (accepted Islam), while you are showing arrogance, how unjust you are! Surely Allah does not guide the unjust people."

qul ara-aytum in kāna min ʿindi l-lahi wakafartum bihi washahida shāhidun min banī is'rāīla ʿalā mith'lihi faāmana wa-is'takbartum inna l-laha lā yahdī l-qawma l-ẓālimīn

2 Witness of Truth

وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ لِلَّذِینَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَوۡ كَانَ خَیۡرࣰا مَّا سَبَقُونَاۤ إِلَیۡهِۚ وَإِذۡ لَمۡ یَهۡتَدُوا۟ بِهِۦ فَسَیَقُولُونَ هَـٰذَاۤ إِفۡكࣱ قَدِیمࣱ ۝١١

M. Farook Malik

The unbelievers say about the believers: "Had there been any good to believe in the message of the Qur’an, they would not have believed in it before us (because the unbelievers were strong and wealthy whereas believers were weak and poor)." And since they reject its guidance, they say: "This is an ancient falsehood."

waqāla alladhīna kafarū lilladhīna āmanū law kāna khayran mā sabaqūnā ilayhi wa-idh lam yahtadū bihi fasayaqūlūna hādhā if'kun qadīmu

وَمِن قَبۡلِهِۦ كِتَـٰبُ مُوسَىٰۤ إِمَامࣰا وَرَحۡمَةࣰۚ وَهَـٰذَا كِتَـٰبࣱ مُّصَدِّقࣱ لِّسَانًا عَرَبِیࣰّا لِّیُنذِرَ ٱلَّذِینَ ظَلَمُوا۟ وَبُشۡرَىٰ لِلۡمُحۡسِنِینَ ۝١٢

M. Farook Malik

Yet before it the Book of Moses was revealed which was a guide and blessing; and this Book (Qur’an) confirms it. It is revealed in the Arabic language to forewarn the wrongdoers and to give good news to those who have adopted the righteous conduct

wamin qablihi kitābu mūsā imāman waraḥmatan wahādhā kitābun muṣaddiqun lisānan ʿarabiyyan liyundhira alladhīna ẓalamū wabush'rā lil'muḥ'sinīn

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِینَ قَالُوا۟ رَبُّنَا ٱللَّهُ ثُمَّ ٱسۡتَقَـٰمُوا۟ فَلَا خَوۡفٌ عَلَیۡهِمۡ وَلَا هُمۡ یَحۡزَنُونَ ۝١٣

M. Farook Malik

Indeed those who say: "Our Lord is Allah, and then remain firm shall have nothing to fear or to regret

inna alladhīna qālū rabbunā l-lahu thumma is'taqāmū falā khawfun ʿalayhim walā hum yaḥzanūn

أُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ أَصۡحَـٰبُ ٱلۡجَنَّةِ خَـٰلِدِینَ فِیهَا جَزَاۤءَۢ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ یَعۡمَلُونَ ۝١٤

M. Farook Malik

They shall dwell in paradise forever as a reward for their good deeds

ulāika aṣḥābu l-janati khālidīna fīhā jazāan bimā kānū yaʿmalūn

وَوَصَّیۡنَا ٱلۡإِنسَـٰنَ بِوَ ٰلِدَیۡهِ إِحۡسَـٰنًاۖ حَمَلَتۡهُ أُمُّهُۥ كُرۡهࣰا وَوَضَعَتۡهُ كُرۡهࣰاۖ وَحَمۡلُهُۥ وَفِصَـٰلُهُۥ ثَلَـٰثُونَ شَهۡرًاۚ حَتَّىٰۤ إِذَا بَلَغَ أَشُدَّهُۥ وَبَلَغَ أَرۡبَعِینَ سَنَةࣰ قَالَ رَبِّ أَوۡزِعۡنِیۤ أَنۡ أَشۡكُرَ نِعۡمَتَكَ ٱلَّتِیۤ أَنۡعَمۡتَ عَلَیَّ وَعَلَىٰ وَ ٰلِدَیَّ وَأَنۡ أَعۡمَلَ صَـٰلِحࣰا تَرۡضَىٰهُ وَأَصۡلِحۡ لِی فِی ذُرِّیَّتِیۤۖ إِنِّی تُبۡتُ إِلَیۡكَ وَإِنِّی مِنَ ٱلۡمُسۡلِمِینَ ۝١٥

M. Farook Malik

We have enjoined upon man to treat his parents with kindness. With much trouble his mother bore him, and with much pain did she give him birth. His bearing and his weaning took thirty months. When he reaches the age of full strength and becomes forty years old, he says: "My Lord! Grant me the grace that I may thank you for the favors which You have bestowed on me and on my parents, and that I may do good deeds that will please You, and grant me good children. Surely I turn to You in repentance and surely I am of those who are Muslims."

wawaṣṣaynā l-insāna biwālidayhi iḥ'sānan ḥamalathu ummuhu kur'han wawaḍaʿathu kur'han waḥamluhu wafiṣāluhu thalāthūna shahran ḥattā idhā balagha ashuddahu wabalagha arbaʿīna sanatan qāla rabbi awziʿ'nī an ashkura niʿ'mataka allatī anʿamta ʿalayya waʿalā wālidayya wa-an aʿmala ṣāliḥan tarḍāhu wa-aṣliḥ lī fī dhurriyyatī innī tub'tu ilayka wa-innī mina l-mus'limīn

أُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ ٱلَّذِینَ نَتَقَبَّلُ عَنۡهُمۡ أَحۡسَنَ مَا عَمِلُوا۟ وَنَتَجَاوَزُ عَن سَیِّءَاتِهِمۡ فِیۤ أَصۡحَـٰبِ ٱلۡجَنَّةِۖ وَعۡدَ ٱلصِّدۡقِ ٱلَّذِی كَانُوا۟ یُوعَدُونَ ۝١٦

M. Farook Malik

Such are the people from whom We shall accept the best of their deeds and overlook their misdeeds. They shall be among the residents of paradise: true is the promise that has been made to them in this life

ulāika alladhīna nataqabbalu ʿanhum aḥsana mā ʿamilū wanatajāwazu ʿan sayyiātihim fī aṣḥābi l-janati waʿda l-ṣid'qi alladhī kānū yūʿadūn

وَٱلَّذِی قَالَ لِوَ ٰلِدَیۡهِ أُفࣲّ لَّكُمَاۤ أَتَعِدَانِنِیۤ أَنۡ أُخۡرَجَ وَقَدۡ خَلَتِ ٱلۡقُرُونُ مِن قَبۡلِی وَهُمَا یَسۡتَغِیثَانِ ٱللَّهَ وَیۡلَكَ ءَامِنۡ إِنَّ وَعۡدَ ٱللَّهِ حَقࣱّ فَیَقُولُ مَا هَـٰذَاۤ إِلَّاۤ أَسَـٰطِیرُ ٱلۡأَوَّلِینَ ۝١٧

M. Farook Malik

But he who rebukes his parents and says: "Uff (as if to say, do not bother me)! Do you threaten me with a resurrection, whereas many a generations have passed before me and none has come back from among them?" And they both cry for Allah’s help and say: "Woe to you! Be a good believer. Surely the promise of Allah is true." But he replies: "This is nothing but tales of the ancients."

wa-alladhī qāla liwālidayhi uffin lakumā ataʿidāninī an ukh'raja waqad khalati l-qurūnu min qablī wahumā yastaghīthāni l-laha waylaka āmin inna waʿda l-lahi ḥaqqun fayaqūlu mā hādhā illā asāṭīru l-awalīn

أُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ ٱلَّذِینَ حَقَّ عَلَیۡهِمُ ٱلۡقَوۡلُ فِیۤ أُمَمࣲ قَدۡ خَلَتۡ مِن قَبۡلِهِم مِّنَ ٱلۡجِنِّ وَٱلۡإِنسِۖ إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُوا۟ خَـٰسِرِینَ ۝١٨

M. Farook Malik

Such are the people against whom the verdict of torment has proved true and they will be among the prior people of the jinns and the men that have passed away before them. Indeed they will be the losers

ulāika alladhīna ḥaqqa ʿalayhimu l-qawlu fī umamin qad khalat min qablihim mina l-jini wal-insi innahum kānū khāsirīn

وَلِكُلࣲّ دَرَجَـٰتࣱ مِّمَّا عَمِلُوا۟ۖ وَلِیُوَفِّیَهُمۡ أَعۡمَـٰلَهُمۡ وَهُمۡ لَا یُظۡلَمُونَ ۝١٩

M. Farook Malik

All will be assigned in ranks, according to their deeds, so that He may reward them fully for what they have done and they shall not be wronged

walikullin darajātun mimmā ʿamilū waliyuwaffiyahum aʿmālahum wahum lā yuẓ'lamūn

وَیَوۡمَ یُعۡرَضُ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ عَلَى ٱلنَّارِ أَذۡهَبۡتُمۡ طَیِّبَـٰتِكُمۡ فِی حَیَاتِكُمُ ٱلدُّنۡیَا وَٱسۡتَمۡتَعۡتُم بِهَا فَٱلۡیَوۡمَ تُجۡزَوۡنَ عَذَابَ ٱلۡهُونِ بِمَا كُنتُمۡ تَسۡتَكۡبِرُونَ فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِ بِغَیۡرِ ٱلۡحَقِّ وَبِمَا كُنتُمۡ تَفۡسُقُونَ ۝٢٠

M. Farook Malik

On that Day when the disbelievers will be brought before the fire, they will be told: "You squandered away your good things in your earthly life and you enjoyed them for a while. Today you shall be recompensed with a punishment of humiliation because you behaved with arrogance for which you had no right during your life on earth and because of the transgressions you committed."

wayawma yuʿ'raḍu alladhīna kafarū ʿalā l-nāri adhhabtum ṭayyibātikum fī ḥayātikumu l-dun'yā wa-is'tamtaʿtum bihā fal-yawma tuj'zawna ʿadhāba l-hūni bimā kuntum tastakbirūna fī l-arḍi bighayri l-ḥaqi wabimā kuntum tafsuqūn

3 The Fate of 'Ad

۞ وَٱذۡكُرۡ أَخَا عَادٍ إِذۡ أَنذَرَ قَوۡمَهُۥ بِٱلۡأَحۡقَافِ وَقَدۡ خَلَتِ ٱلنُّذُرُ مِنۢ بَیۡنِ یَدَیۡهِ وَمِنۡ خَلۡفِهِۦۤ أَلَّا تَعۡبُدُوۤا۟ إِلَّا ٱللَّهَ إِنِّیۤ أَخَافُ عَلَیۡكُمۡ عَذَابَ یَوۡمٍ عَظِیمࣲ ۝٢١

M. Farook Malik

Tell them the story of ‘Ad’s brethren, the Prophet Hud, when he warned his people, the residents of Ahqaf - in fact Warners came to them before him and after him saying: "Worship none but Allah. Surely I fear for you the torment of a mighty Day."

wa-udh'kur akhā ʿādin idh andhara qawmahu bil-aḥqāfi waqad khalati l-nudhuru min bayni yadayhi wamin khalfihi allā taʿbudū illā l-laha innī akhāfu ʿalaykum ʿadhāba yawmin ʿaẓīmi

قَالُوۤا۟ أَجِئۡتَنَا لِتَأۡفِكَنَا عَنۡ ءَالِهَتِنَا فَأۡتِنَا بِمَا تَعِدُنَاۤ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِینَ ۝٢٢

M. Farook Malik

They replied: "Have you come to turn us away from our gods? Bring us the torment that you threaten us with, if you are telling the truth."

qālū aji'tanā litafikanā ʿan ālihatinā fatinā bimā taʿidunā in kunta mina l-ṣādiqīn

قَالَ إِنَّمَا ٱلۡعِلۡمُ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ وَأُبَلِّغُكُم مَّاۤ أُرۡسِلۡتُ بِهِۦ وَلَـٰكِنِّیۤ أَرَىٰكُمۡ قَوۡمࣰا تَجۡهَلُونَ ۝٢٣

M. Farook Malik

The Prophet Hud said: "The Knowledge of when it is going to come is only with Allah. I am only conveying the Message with which I have been sent, however, I can see that you are ignorant people."

qāla innamā l-ʿil'mu ʿinda l-lahi wa-uballighukum mā ur'sil'tu bihi walākinnī arākum qawman tajhalūn

فَلَمَّا رَأَوۡهُ عَارِضࣰا مُّسۡتَقۡبِلَ أَوۡدِیَتِهِمۡ قَالُوا۟ هَـٰذَا عَارِضࣱ مُّمۡطِرُنَاۚ بَلۡ هُوَ مَا ٱسۡتَعۡجَلۡتُم بِهِۦۖ رِیحࣱ فِیهَا عَذَابٌ أَلِیمࣱ ۝٢٤

M. Farook Malik

Then when they saw the torment in the shape of a cloud coming towards their valleys, they said: "This cloud will bring us rain." - "Nay! It is what you were asking for, a fierce wind bringing you a woeful torment

falammā ra-awhu ʿāriḍan mus'taqbila awdiyatihim qālū hādhā ʿāriḍun mum'ṭirunā bal huwa mā is'taʿjaltum bihi rīḥun fīhā ʿadhābun alīmu

تُدَمِّرُ كُلَّ شَیۡءِۭ بِأَمۡرِ رَبِّهَا فَأَصۡبَحُوا۟ لَا یُرَىٰۤ إِلَّا مَسَـٰكِنُهُمۡۚ كَذَ ٰلِكَ نَجۡزِی ٱلۡقَوۡمَ ٱلۡمُجۡرِمِینَ ۝٢٥

M. Farook Malik

It is going to destroy everything by the command of its Lord. Consequently by the morning, there was nothing to be seen except the ruins of their dwellings. Thus did We reward those guilty people

tudammiru kulla shayin bi-amri rabbihā fa-aṣbaḥū lā yurā illā masākinuhum kadhālika najzī l-qawma l-muj'rimīn

وَلَقَدۡ مَكَّنَّـٰهُمۡ فِیمَاۤ إِن مَّكَّنَّـٰكُمۡ فِیهِ وَجَعَلۡنَا لَهُمۡ سَمۡعࣰا وَأَبۡصَـٰرࣰا وَأَفۡءِدَةࣰ فَمَاۤ أَغۡنَىٰ عَنۡهُمۡ سَمۡعُهُمۡ وَلَاۤ أَبۡصَـٰرُهُمۡ وَلَاۤ أَفۡءِدَتُهُم مِّن شَیۡءٍ إِذۡ كَانُوا۟ یَجۡحَدُونَ بِءَایَـٰتِ ٱللَّهِ وَحَاقَ بِهِم مَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ یَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَ ۝٢٦

M. Farook Malik

We had established them much better than We have established you, O Qureysh of Mecca, and endowed them with the faculties of hearing, seeing, and intellect. Yet their faculties of hearing, sight and intellect availed them nothing since they denied the revelations of Allah; and they were completely hemmed in by the same thing that they used to mock at

walaqad makkannāhum fīmā in makkannākum fīhi wajaʿalnā lahum samʿan wa-abṣāran wa-afidatan famā aghnā ʿanhum samʿuhum walā abṣāruhum walā afidatuhum min shayin idh kānū yajḥadūna biāyāti l-lahi waḥāqa bihim mā kānū bihi yastahziūn

4 A Warning

وَلَقَدۡ أَهۡلَكۡنَا مَا حَوۡلَكُم مِّنَ ٱلۡقُرَىٰ وَصَرَّفۡنَا ٱلۡءَایَـٰتِ لَعَلَّهُمۡ یَرۡجِعُونَ ۝٢٧

M. Farook Malik

We have destroyed the towns which once flourished around you - and We repeatedly sent them Our revelations so that they may turn to the Right Way

walaqad ahlaknā mā ḥawlakum mina l-qurā waṣarrafnā l-āyāti laʿallahum yarjiʿūn

فَلَوۡلَا نَصَرَهُمُ ٱلَّذِینَ ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ قُرۡبَانًا ءَالِهَةَۢۖ بَلۡ ضَلُّوا۟ عَنۡهُمۡۚ وَذَ ٰلِكَ إِفۡكُهُمۡ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ یَفۡتَرُونَ ۝٢٨

M. Farook Malik

- Then Why did not those whom they worshipped besides Allah help them who they regarded as a means of attaining nearness to Him? But those deities utterly forsook them, because those were nothing but their lies and their false inventions

falawlā naṣarahumu alladhīna ittakhadhū min dūni l-lahi qur'bānan ālihatan bal ḍallū ʿanhum wadhālika if'kuhum wamā kānū yaftarūn

وَإِذۡ صَرَفۡنَاۤ إِلَیۡكَ نَفَرࣰا مِّنَ ٱلۡجِنِّ یَسۡتَمِعُونَ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ فَلَمَّا حَضَرُوهُ قَالُوۤا۟ أَنصِتُوا۟ۖ فَلَمَّا قُضِیَ وَلَّوۡا۟ إِلَىٰ قَوۡمِهِم مُّنذِرِینَ ۝٢٩

M. Farook Malik

Tell them how We brought to you a group of jinns, who when they reached the place where you were reciting and listened to the Qur’an, said to each other: "Be silent." When the recitation was over, they returned to their people as warners

wa-idh ṣarafnā ilayka nafaran mina l-jini yastamiʿūna l-qur'āna falammā ḥaḍarūhu qālū anṣitū falammā quḍiya wallaw ilā qawmihim mundhirīn

قَالُوا۟ یَـٰقَوۡمَنَاۤ إِنَّا سَمِعۡنَا كِتَـٰبًا أُنزِلَ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ مُوسَىٰ مُصَدِّقࣰا لِّمَا بَیۡنَ یَدَیۡهِ یَهۡدِیۤ إِلَى ٱلۡحَقِّ وَإِلَىٰ طَرِیقࣲ مُّسۡتَقِیمࣲ ۝٣٠

M. Farook Malik

They said "O our people! We have just listened to a Book that has been revealed after Moses which is confirming that what came before it, and it guides to the truth and to the Right Way

qālū yāqawmanā innā samiʿ'nā kitāban unzila min baʿdi mūsā muṣaddiqan limā bayna yadayhi yahdī ilā l-ḥaqi wa-ilā ṭarīqin mus'taqīmi

یَـٰقَوۡمَنَاۤ أَجِیبُوا۟ دَاعِیَ ٱللَّهِ وَءَامِنُوا۟ بِهِۦ یَغۡفِرۡ لَكُم مِّن ذُنُوبِكُمۡ وَیُجِرۡكُم مِّنۡ عَذَابٍ أَلِیمࣲ ۝٣١

M. Farook Malik

O our people, answer the one who is calling you towards Allah and believe in him! Allah will forgive you your sins and save you from a painful punishment

yāqawmanā ajībū dāʿiya l-lahi waāminū bihi yaghfir lakum min dhunūbikum wayujir'kum min ʿadhābin alīmi

وَمَن لَّا یُجِبۡ دَاعِیَ ٱللَّهِ فَلَیۡسَ بِمُعۡجِزࣲ فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَلَیۡسَ لَهُۥ مِن دُونِهِۦۤ أَوۡلِیَاۤءُۚ أُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ فِی ضَلَـٰلࣲ مُّبِینٍ ۝٣٢

M. Farook Malik

He that does not answer the one who is calling towards Allah, shall neither escape in the earth, nor shall have any to protect from Him. Surely such people are in manifest error."

waman lā yujib dāʿiya l-lahi falaysa bimuʿ'jizin fī l-arḍi walaysa lahu min dūnihi awliyāu ulāika fī ḍalālin mubīni

أَوَ لَمۡ یَرَوۡا۟ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ ٱلَّذِی خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ وَلَمۡ یَعۡیَ بِخَلۡقِهِنَّ بِقَـٰدِرٍ عَلَىٰۤ أَن یُحۡـِۧیَ ٱلۡمَوۡتَىٰۚ بَلَىٰۤۚ إِنَّهُۥ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَیۡءࣲ قَدِیرࣱ ۝٣٣

M. Farook Malik

Do they not see that Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth and was not wearied by their creation, has the power to raise the dead to life? Why not! Surely He has the power over everything

awalam yaraw anna l-laha alladhī khalaqa l-samāwāti wal-arḍa walam yaʿya bikhalqihinna biqādirin ʿalā an yuḥ'yiya l-mawtā balā innahu ʿalā kulli shayin qadīru

وَیَوۡمَ یُعۡرَضُ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ عَلَى ٱلنَّارِ أَلَیۡسَ هَـٰذَا بِٱلۡحَقِّۖ قَالُوا۟ بَلَىٰ وَرَبِّنَاۚ قَالَ فَذُوقُوا۟ ٱلۡعَذَابَ بِمَا كُنتُمۡ تَكۡفُرُونَ ۝٣٤

M. Farook Malik

On the Day when the unbelievers will be brought before the fire, Allah will ask: "Is this not real?" "Yes, by our Lord!" They will answer. "Well, then taste the punishment now," Will He reply, "in consequence of your disbelief."

wayawma yuʿ'raḍu alladhīna kafarū ʿalā l-nāri alaysa hādhā bil-ḥaqi qālū balā warabbinā qāla fadhūqū l-ʿadhāba bimā kuntum takfurūn

فَٱصۡبِرۡ كَمَا صَبَرَ أُو۟لُوا۟ ٱلۡعَزۡمِ مِنَ ٱلرُّسُلِ وَلَا تَسۡتَعۡجِل لَّهُمۡۚ كَأَنَّهُمۡ یَوۡمَ یَرَوۡنَ مَا یُوعَدُونَ لَمۡ یَلۡبَثُوۤا۟ إِلَّا سَاعَةࣰ مِّن نَّهَارِۭۚ بَلَـٰغࣱۚ فَهَلۡ یُهۡلَكُ إِلَّا ٱلۡقَوۡمُ ٱلۡفَـٰسِقُونَ ۝٣٥

M. Farook Malik

Therefore, bear with them with patience, as did the Messengers endowed with firmness of purpose before you, and do not be in haste about them. On the Day when they shall see that which they are being threatened with, their life on earth will seem to them as if they had lived no more than an hour of a day. The Message of forewarning has been conveyed. Shall any be destroyed except the transgressors

fa-iṣ'bir kamā ṣabara ulū l-ʿazmi mina l-rusuli walā tastaʿjil lahum ka-annahum yawma yarawna mā yūʿadūna lam yalbathū illā sāʿatan min nahārin balāghun fahal yuh'laku illā l-qawmu l-fāsiqūn
