هُوَ ٱلَّذِیۤ أَخۡرَجَ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِنۡ أَهۡلِ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبِ مِن دِیَـٰرِهِمۡ لِأَوَّلِ ٱلۡحَشۡرِۚ مَا ظَنَنتُمۡ أَن یَخۡرُجُوا۟ۖ وَظَنُّوۤا۟ أَنَّهُم مَّانِعَتُهُمۡ حُصُونُهُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ فَأَتَىٰهُمُ ٱللَّهُ مِنۡ حَیۡثُ لَمۡ یَحۡتَسِبُوا۟ۖ وَقَذَفَ فِی قُلُوبِهِمُ ٱلرُّعۡبَۚ یُخۡرِبُونَ بُیُوتَهُم بِأَیۡدِیهِمۡ وَأَیۡدِی ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِینَ فَٱعۡتَبِرُوا۟ یَـٰۤأُو۟لِی ٱلۡأَبۡصَـٰرِ ۝٢

Abdul Majid Daryabadi

He it is that drave forth those of the people of the Book who disbelieved from their homes at the first gathering, Ye imagined no that they would go -forth; and they imagined that their fortresses would protect them against Allah. Wherefore Allah came upon them whence they reckoned not, and cast terror in their hearts so that they made their houses desolate with their own hands and the hands of the believers. So learn a lesson. O ye endued with insight

huwa alladhī akhraja alladhīna kafarū min ahli l-kitābi min diyārihim li-awwali l-ḥashri mā ẓanantum an yakhrujū waẓannū annahum māniʿatuhum ḥuṣūnuhum mina l-lahi fa-atāhumu l-lahu min ḥaythu lam yaḥtasibū waqadhafa fī qulūbihimu l-ruʿ'ba yukh'ribūna buyūtahum bi-aydīhim wa-aydī l-mu'minīna fa-iʿ'tabirū yāulī l-abṣār

59:3

وَلَوۡلَاۤ أَن كَتَبَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَیۡهِمُ ٱلۡجَلَاۤءَ لَعَذَّبَهُمۡ فِی ٱلدُّنۡیَاۖ وَلَهُمۡ فِی ٱلۡءَاخِرَةِ عَذَابُ ٱلنَّارِ ۝٣

Abdul Majid Daryabadi

And had not Allahg prescribed banishment for them, surely He would have tormented them in the world; and theirs in the Hereafter is the torment of the Fire

walawlā an kataba l-lahu ʿalayhimu l-jalāa laʿadhabahum fī l-dun'yā walahum fī l-ākhirati ʿadhābu l-nār

59:4

ذَ ٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمۡ شَاۤقُّوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥۖ وَمَن یُشَاۤقِّ ٱللَّهَ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ شَدِیدُ ٱلۡعِقَابِ ۝٤

Abdul Majid Daryabadi

That is because they opposed Allah and His apostle, and whosoever opposeth Allah, then verily Allah is Stern in chastisement

dhālika bi-annahum shāqqū l-laha warasūlahu waman yushāqqi l-laha fa-inna l-laha shadīdu l-ʿiqāb

59:5

مَا قَطَعۡتُم مِّن لِّینَةٍ أَوۡ تَرَكۡتُمُوهَا قَاۤىِٕمَةً عَلَىٰۤ أُصُولِهَا فَبِإِذۡنِ ٱللَّهِ وَلِیُخۡزِیَ ٱلۡفَـٰسِقِینَ ۝٥

Abdul Majid Daryabadi

Whatsoever fine palms ye cut down or left standing on roots there of, it was by the leave of Allah, and in order that He might abase the transgressors

mā qaṭaʿtum min līnatin aw taraktumūhā qāimatan ʿalā uṣūlihā fabi-idh'ni l-lahi waliyukh'ziya l-fāsiqīn

59:6

وَمَاۤ أَفَاۤءَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ رَسُولِهِۦ مِنۡهُمۡ فَمَاۤ أَوۡجَفۡتُمۡ عَلَیۡهِ مِنۡ خَیۡلࣲ وَلَا رِكَابࣲ وَلَـٰكِنَّ ٱللَّهَ یُسَلِّطُ رُسُلَهُۥ عَلَىٰ مَن یَشَاۤءُۚ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَیۡءࣲ قَدِیرࣱ ۝٦

Abdul Majid Daryabadi

And as to that which Allah restored Unto His apostle from them, ye rushed neither horse nor camel upon it but Allah giveth His apostles mastery over whomsoever He will. And Allah Is -over everything potent

wamā afāa l-lahu ʿalā rasūlihi min'hum famā awjaftum ʿalayhi min khaylin walā rikābin walākinna l-laha yusalliṭu rusulahu ʿalā man yashāu wal-lahu ʿalā kulli shayin qadīru

59:7

مَّاۤ أَفَاۤءَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ رَسُولِهِۦ مِنۡ أَهۡلِ ٱلۡقُرَىٰ فَلِلَّهِ وَلِلرَّسُولِ وَلِذِی ٱلۡقُرۡبَىٰ وَٱلۡیَتَـٰمَىٰ وَٱلۡمَسَـٰكِینِ وَٱبۡنِ ٱلسَّبِیلِ كَیۡ لَا یَكُونَ دُولَةَۢ بَیۡنَ ٱلۡأَغۡنِیَاۤءِ مِنكُمۡۚ وَمَاۤ ءَاتَىٰكُمُ ٱلرَّسُولُ فَخُذُوهُ وَمَا نَهَىٰكُمۡ عَنۡهُ فَٱنتَهُوا۟ۚ وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَۖ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ شَدِیدُ ٱلۡعِقَابِ ۝٧

Abdul Majid Daryabadi

Whatsoever Allah may restore Unto His apostle from the people of the cities is due Unto Allah and Unto the apostle and Unto the near of kin and the orphans and the needy and the wayfarer, so that it may not be confined to the rich among you. And whatsoever the apostle giveth you, take; and whatsoever he forbiddeth you, refrain from. And fear Allah; verily Allah is Stern in chastisement

mā afāa l-lahu ʿalā rasūlihi min ahli l-qurā falillahi walilrrasūli walidhī l-qur'bā wal-yatāmā wal-masākīni wa-ib'ni l-sabīli kay lā yakūna dūlatan bayna l-aghniyāi minkum wamā ātākumu l-rasūlu fakhudhūhu wamā nahākum ʿanhu fa-intahū wa-ittaqū l-laha inna l-laha shadīdu l-ʿiqāb

59:8

لِلۡفُقَرَاۤءِ ٱلۡمُهَـٰجِرِینَ ٱلَّذِینَ أُخۡرِجُوا۟ مِن دِیَـٰرِهِمۡ وَأَمۡوَ ٰلِهِمۡ یَبۡتَغُونَ فَضۡلࣰا مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَرِضۡوَ ٰنࣰا وَیَنصُرُونَ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥۤۚ أُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ هُمُ ٱلصَّـٰدِقُونَ ۝٨

Abdul Majid Daryabadi

And it is due Unto the poor Muhajirs who have been driven forth from their homes and their substance, seeking grace from Allah and His goodwill and succouring Allah and His apostle. These! they are the truthful

lil'fuqarāi l-muhājirīna alladhīna ukh'rijū min diyārihim wa-amwālihim yabtaghūna faḍlan mina l-lahi wariḍ'wānan wayanṣurūna l-laha warasūlahu ulāika humu l-ṣādiqūn

59:9

وَٱلَّذِینَ تَبَوَّءُو ٱلدَّارَ وَٱلۡإِیمَـٰنَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡ یُحِبُّونَ مَنۡ هَاجَرَ إِلَیۡهِمۡ وَلَا یَجِدُونَ فِی صُدُورِهِمۡ حَاجَةࣰ مِّمَّاۤ أُوتُوا۟ وَیُؤۡثِرُونَ عَلَىٰۤ أَنفُسِهِمۡ وَلَوۡ كَانَ بِهِمۡ خَصَاصَةࣱۚ وَمَن یُوقَ شُحَّ نَفۡسِهِۦ فَأُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ هُمُ ٱلۡمُفۡلِحُونَ ۝٩

Abdul Majid Daryabadi

And it is also due Unto those who are settled in the dwelling and the faith before them, loving those who have migrated Unto them, and finding in their breasts no desire for that which hath been given them, and preferring them above themselves even though there was want amongst them. And whosoever is Preserved from covetousness of his soul, then those! - they are the blissful

wa-alladhīna tabawwaū l-dāra wal-īmāna min qablihim yuḥibbūna man hājara ilayhim walā yajidūna fī ṣudūrihim ḥājatan mimmā ūtū wayu'thirūna ʿalā anfusihim walaw kāna bihim khaṣāṣatun waman yūqa shuḥḥa nafsihi fa-ulāika humu l-muf'liḥūn

59:10

وَٱلَّذِینَ جَاۤءُو مِنۢ بَعۡدِهِمۡ یَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَا ٱغۡفِرۡ لَنَا وَلِإِخۡوَ ٰنِنَا ٱلَّذِینَ سَبَقُونَا بِٱلۡإِیمَـٰنِ وَلَا تَجۡعَلۡ فِی قُلُوبِنَا غِلࣰّا لِّلَّذِینَ ءَامَنُوا۟ رَبَّنَاۤ إِنَّكَ رَءُوفࣱ رَّحِیمٌ ۝١٠

Abdul Majid Daryabadi

And it is also due Unto those who came after them, saying: 'Our Lord! forgive us and our brethren who have preceded us in the faith, and place not in our hearts any rancour toward those who had believed. Our Lord! verily Thou art Tender, Merciful.

wa-alladhīna jāū min baʿdihim yaqūlūna rabbanā igh'fir lanā wali-ikh'wāninā alladhīna sabaqūnā bil-īmāni walā tajʿal fī qulūbinā ghillan lilladhīna āmanū rabbanā innaka raūfun raḥīmu

59:11

۞ أَلَمۡ تَرَ إِلَى ٱلَّذِینَ نَافَقُوا۟ یَقُولُونَ لِإِخۡوَ ٰنِهِمُ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِنۡ أَهۡلِ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبِ لَىِٕنۡ أُخۡرِجۡتُمۡ لَنَخۡرُجَنَّ مَعَكُمۡ وَلَا نُطِیعُ فِیكُمۡ أَحَدًا أَبَدࣰا وَإِن قُوتِلۡتُمۡ لَنَنصُرَنَّكُمۡ وَٱللَّهُ یَشۡهَدُ إِنَّهُمۡ لَكَـٰذِبُونَ ۝١١

Abdul Majid Daryabadi

Beholdest thou not: those who dissemble saying Unto their brethren who disbelieve among the people of the Book: if ye are driven forth we shall surely go forth with you, and we, shall not ever obey anyone in your respect, and if ye are attacked, we shall surely succour you. And Allah beareth witness that surely they are liars

alam tara ilā alladhīna nāfaqū yaqūlūna li-ikh'wānihimu alladhīna kafarū min ahli l-kitābi la-in ukh'rij'tum lanakhrujanna maʿakum walā nuṭīʿu fīkum aḥadan abadan wa-in qūtil'tum lananṣurannakum wal-lahu yashhadu innahum lakādhibūn

59:12

لَىِٕنۡ أُخۡرِجُوا۟ لَا یَخۡرُجُونَ مَعَهُمۡ وَلَىِٕن قُوتِلُوا۟ لَا یَنصُرُونَهُمۡ وَلَىِٕن نَّصَرُوهُمۡ لَیُوَلُّنَّ ٱلۡأَدۡبَـٰرَ ثُمَّ لَا یُنصَرُونَ ۝١٢

Abdul Majid Daryabadi

Surely if they are driven forth, they shall not; go forth with them, and surely if they are attacked, they shall succour them, not, and even ifs they succoured them they would turn their backs; and then they shall not be succoured

la-in ukh'rijū lā yakhrujūna maʿahum wala-in qūtilū lā yanṣurūnahum wala-in naṣarūhum layuwallunna l-adbāra thumma lā yunṣarūn

59:13

لَأَنتُمۡ أَشَدُّ رَهۡبَةࣰ فِی صُدُورِهِم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِۚ ذَ ٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمۡ قَوۡمࣱ لَّا یَفۡقَهُونَ ۝١٣

Abdul Majid Daryabadi

Surely ye are more awful in their breasts than Allah. That is because they are a people who understand not

la-antum ashaddu rahbatan fī ṣudūrihim mina l-lahi dhālika bi-annahum qawmun lā yafqahūn

59:14

لَا یُقَـٰتِلُونَكُمۡ جَمِیعًا إِلَّا فِی قُرࣰى مُّحَصَّنَةٍ أَوۡ مِن وَرَاۤءِ جُدُرِۭۚ بَأۡسُهُم بَیۡنَهُمۡ شَدِیدࣱۚ تَحۡسَبُهُمۡ جَمِیعࣰا وَقُلُوبُهُمۡ شَتَّىٰۚ ذَ ٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمۡ قَوۡمࣱ لَّا یَعۡقِلُونَ ۝١٤

Abdul Majid Daryabadi

They shall not fight against you, not even together, except in fenced townships or from behind walls. Their violence among themselves is strong; thou deemest them enjoined, whereas their hearts are diverse. That is because they are a people who reflect not

lā yuqātilūnakum jamīʿan illā fī quran muḥaṣṣanatin aw min warāi judurin basuhum baynahum shadīdun taḥsabuhum jamīʿan waqulūbuhum shattā dhālika bi-annahum qawmun lā yaʿqilūn

59:15

كَمَثَلِ ٱلَّذِینَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡ قَرِیبࣰاۖ ذَاقُوا۟ وَبَالَ أَمۡرِهِمۡ وَلَهُمۡ عَذَابٌ أَلِیمࣱ ۝١٥

Abdul Majid Daryabadi

They are like those a little before them; they tasted the ill-effect of their affair, and theirs shall be a torment afflictive

kamathali alladhīna min qablihim qarīban dhāqū wabāla amrihim walahum ʿadhābun alīmu

59:16

كَمَثَلِ ٱلشَّیۡطَـٰنِ إِذۡ قَالَ لِلۡإِنسَـٰنِ ٱكۡفُرۡ فَلَمَّا كَفَرَ قَالَ إِنِّی بَرِیۤءࣱ مِّنكَ إِنِّیۤ أَخَافُ ٱللَّهَ رَبَّ ٱلۡعَـٰلَمِینَ ۝١٦

Abdul Majid Daryabadi

They are like the Satan, when he saith Unto man: 'disbelieve,' then, when he disbelieveth, saith: verily I am quit of thee, verily I fear Allah, the Lord of the Worlds

kamathali l-shayṭāni idh qāla lil'insāni uk'fur falammā kafara qāla innī barīon minka innī akhāfu l-laha rabba l-ʿālamīn

59:17

فَكَانَ عَـٰقِبَتَهُمَاۤ أَنَّهُمَا فِی ٱلنَّارِ خَـٰلِدَیۡنِ فِیهَاۚ وَذَ ٰلِكَ جَزَ ٰۤؤُا۟ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِینَ ۝١٧

Abdul Majid Daryabadi

Wherefore the end of the twain will be that they will be in the Fire, as abiders there in; that is the meed of the wrong-doers

fakāna ʿāqibatahumā annahumā fī l-nāri khālidayni fīhā wadhālika jazāu l-ẓālimīn

59:18

یَـٰۤأَیُّهَا ٱلَّذِینَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَلۡتَنظُرۡ نَفۡسࣱ مَّا قَدَّمَتۡ لِغَدࣲۖ وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ خَبِیرُۢ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ ۝١٨

Abdul Majid Daryabadi

O ye who believe! fear Allah, and let every soul look to that which it sendeth forward for the morrow. And fear Allah; veril Allah is Aware of that which ye work

yāayyuhā alladhīna āmanū ittaqū l-laha waltanẓur nafsun mā qaddamat lighadin wa-ittaqū l-laha inna l-laha khabīrun bimā taʿmalūn

59:19

وَلَا تَكُونُوا۟ كَٱلَّذِینَ نَسُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ فَأَنسَىٰهُمۡ أَنفُسَهُمۡۚ أُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ هُمُ ٱلۡفَـٰسِقُونَ ۝١٩

Abdul Majid Daryabadi

And be not as those who forgot Allah, wherefore He caused them to forget their own souls. Those! they are the transgressors

walā takūnū ka-alladhīna nasū l-laha fa-ansāhum anfusahum ulāika humu l-fāsiqūn

59:20

لَا یَسۡتَوِیۤ أَصۡحَـٰبُ ٱلنَّارِ وَأَصۡحَـٰبُ ٱلۡجَنَّةِۚ أَصۡحَـٰبُ ٱلۡجَنَّةِ هُمُ ٱلۡفَاۤىِٕزُونَ ۝٢٠

Abdul Majid Daryabadi

Not equal are the fellows of the Fire and the fellows of the Garden. Fellows of the Garden! they are the achievers

lā yastawī aṣḥābu l-nāri wa-aṣḥābu l-janati aṣḥābu l-janati humu l-fāizūn

59:21

لَوۡ أَنزَلۡنَا هَـٰذَا ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ عَلَىٰ جَبَلࣲ لَّرَأَیۡتَهُۥ خَـٰشِعࣰا مُّتَصَدِّعࣰا مِّنۡ خَشۡیَةِ ٱللَّهِۚ وَتِلۡكَ ٱلۡأَمۡثَـٰلُ نَضۡرِبُهَا لِلنَّاسِ لَعَلَّهُمۡ یَتَفَكَّرُونَ ۝٢١

Abdul Majid Daryabadi

Had We sent down this Qur'an upon a mountain, thou wouldst surely have seen it humbling itself and cleaving in sunder for fear of Allah. Such similitudes We propound Unto mankind that haply they may reflect

law anzalnā hādhā l-qur'āna ʿalā jabalin lara-aytahu khāshiʿan mutaṣaddiʿan min khashyati l-lahi watil'ka l-amthālu naḍribuhā lilnnāsi laʿallahum yatafakkarūn

59:22

هُوَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِی لَاۤ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَۖ عَـٰلِمُ ٱلۡغَیۡبِ وَٱلشَّهَـٰدَةِۖ هُوَ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنُ ٱلرَّحِیمُ ۝٢٢

Abdul Majid Daryabadi

He is Allah, there is no God but He; Knower of the unseen and the seen. He is the Compassionate, the Merciful

huwa l-lahu alladhī lā ilāha illā huwa ʿālimu l-ghaybi wal-shahādati huwa l-raḥmānu l-raḥīm

59:23

هُوَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِی لَاۤ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ٱلۡمَلِكُ ٱلۡقُدُّوسُ ٱلسَّلَـٰمُ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُ ٱلۡمُهَیۡمِنُ ٱلۡعَزِیزُ ٱلۡجَبَّارُ ٱلۡمُتَكَبِّرُۚ سُبۡحَـٰنَ ٱللَّهِ عَمَّا یُشۡرِكُونَ ۝٢٣

Abdul Majid Daryabadi

He is Allah, there is no God but He, the Sovereign, the Holy, the Author of Safety, the Giver of Peace, the Protector, the Mighty, the Mender, the Majestic. Hallowed be Allah from all that they associate

huwa l-lahu alladhī lā ilāha illā huwa l-maliku l-qudūsu l-salāmu l-mu'minu l-muhayminu l-ʿazīzu l-jabāru l-mutakabiru sub'ḥāna l-lahi ʿammā yush'rikūn

59:24

هُوَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلۡخَـٰلِقُ ٱلۡبَارِئُ ٱلۡمُصَوِّرُۖ لَهُ ٱلۡأَسۡمَاۤءُ ٱلۡحُسۡنَىٰۚ یُسَبِّحُ لَهُۥ مَا فِی ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۖ وَهُوَ ٱلۡعَزِیزُ ٱلۡحَكِیمُ ۝٢٤

Abdul Majid Daryabadi

He is Allah, the Creator, the Maker, the Fashioner; His are the excellent names. Him halloweth whatsoever is in the heavens and the earth, and He is the Mighty, the Wise

huwa l-lahu l-khāliqu l-bāri-u l-muṣawiru lahu l-asmāu l-ḥus'nā yusabbiḥu lahu mā fī l-samāwāti wal-arḍi wahuwa l-ʿazīzu l-ḥakīm
