1 The Exiled Jews

سَبَّحَ لِلَّهِ مَا فِی ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَمَا فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِۖ وَهُوَ ٱلۡعَزِیزُ ٱلۡحَكِیمُ ۝١

Bakhtiari Nejad

Everything in the skies and everything on the earth glorifies God, and He is the powerful, the wise.

sabbaḥa lillahi mā fī l-samāwāti wamā fī l-arḍi wahuwa l-ʿazīzu l-ḥakīm

هُوَ ٱلَّذِیۤ أَخۡرَجَ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِنۡ أَهۡلِ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبِ مِن دِیَـٰرِهِمۡ لِأَوَّلِ ٱلۡحَشۡرِۚ مَا ظَنَنتُمۡ أَن یَخۡرُجُوا۟ۖ وَظَنُّوۤا۟ أَنَّهُم مَّانِعَتُهُمۡ حُصُونُهُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ فَأَتَىٰهُمُ ٱللَّهُ مِنۡ حَیۡثُ لَمۡ یَحۡتَسِبُوا۟ۖ وَقَذَفَ فِی قُلُوبِهِمُ ٱلرُّعۡبَۚ یُخۡرِبُونَ بُیُوتَهُم بِأَیۡدِیهِمۡ وَأَیۡدِی ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِینَ فَٱعۡتَبِرُوا۟ یَـٰۤأُو۟لِی ٱلۡأَبۡصَـٰرِ ۝٢

Bakhtiari Nejad

He is the One Who drove out those who disbelieved among people of the book from their homes for the first forced emigration. You did not think that they would leave, and they thought that their fortresses would protect them against God, but God came to them from where they did not expect, and He threw horror in their hearts. They destroyed their homes with their own hands and the believers' hands. So, learn a lesson, (those of) you who have insight.

huwa alladhī akhraja alladhīna kafarū min ahli l-kitābi min diyārihim li-awwali l-ḥashri mā ẓanantum an yakhrujū waẓannū annahum māniʿatuhum ḥuṣūnuhum mina l-lahi fa-atāhumu l-lahu min ḥaythu lam yaḥtasibū waqadhafa fī qulūbihimu l-ruʿ'ba yukh'ribūna buyūtahum bi-aydīhim wa-aydī l-mu'minīna fa-iʿ'tabirū yāulī l-abṣār

وَلَوۡلَاۤ أَن كَتَبَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَیۡهِمُ ٱلۡجَلَاۤءَ لَعَذَّبَهُمۡ فِی ٱلدُّنۡیَاۖ وَلَهُمۡ فِی ٱلۡءَاخِرَةِ عَذَابُ ٱلنَّارِ ۝٣

Bakhtiari Nejad

And if God had not prescribed the evacuation for them, He would have certainly punished them in this world, and they will have punishment of fire in the Hereafter.

walawlā an kataba l-lahu ʿalayhimu l-jalāa laʿadhabahum fī l-dun'yā walahum fī l-ākhirati ʿadhābu l-nār

ذَ ٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمۡ شَاۤقُّوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥۖ وَمَن یُشَاۤقِّ ٱللَّهَ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ شَدِیدُ ٱلۡعِقَابِ ۝٤

Bakhtiari Nejad

That is because they opposed God and His messenger, and whoever opposes God, then God is indeed severe in the punishment.

dhālika bi-annahum shāqqū l-laha warasūlahu waman yushāqqi l-laha fa-inna l-laha shadīdu l-ʿiqāb

مَا قَطَعۡتُم مِّن لِّینَةٍ أَوۡ تَرَكۡتُمُوهَا قَاۤىِٕمَةً عَلَىٰۤ أُصُولِهَا فَبِإِذۡنِ ٱللَّهِ وَلِیُخۡزِیَ ٱلۡفَـٰسِقِینَ ۝٥

Bakhtiari Nejad

Any palm tree that you cut down or you left it standing on its roots, it is by God's permission so that He (may) humiliate the disobedient ones.

mā qaṭaʿtum min līnatin aw taraktumūhā qāimatan ʿalā uṣūlihā fabi-idh'ni l-lahi waliyukh'ziya l-fāsiqīn

وَمَاۤ أَفَاۤءَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ رَسُولِهِۦ مِنۡهُمۡ فَمَاۤ أَوۡجَفۡتُمۡ عَلَیۡهِ مِنۡ خَیۡلࣲ وَلَا رِكَابࣲ وَلَـٰكِنَّ ٱللَّهَ یُسَلِّطُ رُسُلَهُۥ عَلَىٰ مَن یَشَاۤءُۚ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَیۡءࣲ قَدِیرࣱ ۝٦

Bakhtiari Nejad

And whatever God gave to His messenger (as spoil) from them, you did not bother (riding) any horse or camel for it, but God makes His messengers dominate over whomever He wants. God is capable of everything.

wamā afāa l-lahu ʿalā rasūlihi min'hum famā awjaftum ʿalayhi min khaylin walā rikābin walākinna l-laha yusalliṭu rusulahu ʿalā man yashāu wal-lahu ʿalā kulli shayin qadīru

مَّاۤ أَفَاۤءَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ رَسُولِهِۦ مِنۡ أَهۡلِ ٱلۡقُرَىٰ فَلِلَّهِ وَلِلرَّسُولِ وَلِذِی ٱلۡقُرۡبَىٰ وَٱلۡیَتَـٰمَىٰ وَٱلۡمَسَـٰكِینِ وَٱبۡنِ ٱلسَّبِیلِ كَیۡ لَا یَكُونَ دُولَةَۢ بَیۡنَ ٱلۡأَغۡنِیَاۤءِ مِنكُمۡۚ وَمَاۤ ءَاتَىٰكُمُ ٱلرَّسُولُ فَخُذُوهُ وَمَا نَهَىٰكُمۡ عَنۡهُ فَٱنتَهُوا۟ۚ وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَۖ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ شَدِیدُ ٱلۡعِقَابِ ۝٧

Bakhtiari Nejad

And whatever God gave to His messenger (as spoil) from people of the towns is for God and for the messenger and for the relatives (and close ones) and the orphans and the needy and the traveler (in need) so that it does not circulate between the rich among you. And whatever the messenger gave you then take it, and whatever he held you back from it then stay away from it, and be cautious of God. God is indeed severe in the punishment.

mā afāa l-lahu ʿalā rasūlihi min ahli l-qurā falillahi walilrrasūli walidhī l-qur'bā wal-yatāmā wal-masākīni wa-ib'ni l-sabīli kay lā yakūna dūlatan bayna l-aghniyāi minkum wamā ātākumu l-rasūlu fakhudhūhu wamā nahākum ʿanhu fa-intahū wa-ittaqū l-laha inna l-laha shadīdu l-ʿiqāb

لِلۡفُقَرَاۤءِ ٱلۡمُهَـٰجِرِینَ ٱلَّذِینَ أُخۡرِجُوا۟ مِن دِیَـٰرِهِمۡ وَأَمۡوَ ٰلِهِمۡ یَبۡتَغُونَ فَضۡلࣰا مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَرِضۡوَ ٰنࣰا وَیَنصُرُونَ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥۤۚ أُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ هُمُ ٱلصَّـٰدِقُونَ ۝٨

Bakhtiari Nejad

And (part of it) is for the poor immigrants, those who were driven out of their homes and their possessions and they look for God’s bounty and His pleasure and they help God and His messenger, they are the truthful ones.

lil'fuqarāi l-muhājirīna alladhīna ukh'rijū min diyārihim wa-amwālihim yabtaghūna faḍlan mina l-lahi wariḍ'wānan wayanṣurūna l-laha warasūlahu ulāika humu l-ṣādiqūn

وَٱلَّذِینَ تَبَوَّءُو ٱلدَّارَ وَٱلۡإِیمَـٰنَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡ یُحِبُّونَ مَنۡ هَاجَرَ إِلَیۡهِمۡ وَلَا یَجِدُونَ فِی صُدُورِهِمۡ حَاجَةࣰ مِّمَّاۤ أُوتُوا۟ وَیُؤۡثِرُونَ عَلَىٰۤ أَنفُسِهِمۡ وَلَوۡ كَانَ بِهِمۡ خَصَاصَةࣱۚ وَمَن یُوقَ شُحَّ نَفۡسِهِۦ فَأُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ هُمُ ٱلۡمُفۡلِحُونَ ۝٩

Bakhtiari Nejad

And (part of it is for) those who settled down in the houses (in Medina) and in the faith before them, and they like anyone who emigrated to them, and they do not find any need in their chests/minds for what they (the immigrants) were given, and they prefer them over themselves even though poverty is among them. And anyone who protects himself from stinginess (and greed), then they are the successful ones.

wa-alladhīna tabawwaū l-dāra wal-īmāna min qablihim yuḥibbūna man hājara ilayhim walā yajidūna fī ṣudūrihim ḥājatan mimmā ūtū wayu'thirūna ʿalā anfusihim walaw kāna bihim khaṣāṣatun waman yūqa shuḥḥa nafsihi fa-ulāika humu l-muf'liḥūn

وَٱلَّذِینَ جَاۤءُو مِنۢ بَعۡدِهِمۡ یَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَا ٱغۡفِرۡ لَنَا وَلِإِخۡوَ ٰنِنَا ٱلَّذِینَ سَبَقُونَا بِٱلۡإِیمَـٰنِ وَلَا تَجۡعَلۡ فِی قُلُوبِنَا غِلࣰّا لِّلَّذِینَ ءَامَنُوا۟ رَبَّنَاۤ إِنَّكَ رَءُوفࣱ رَّحِیمٌ ۝١٠

Bakhtiari Nejad

And those who came after them say: “Our Lord, forgive us and our brothers who came to faith before us, and do not put any resentment in our hearts toward those who believe; our Lord, you are gentle and merciful.”

wa-alladhīna jāū min baʿdihim yaqūlūna rabbanā igh'fir lanā wali-ikh'wāninā alladhīna sabaqūnā bil-īmāni walā tajʿal fī qulūbinā ghillan lilladhīna āmanū rabbanā innaka raūfun raḥīmu

2 Hypocrites deceive Jews

۞ أَلَمۡ تَرَ إِلَى ٱلَّذِینَ نَافَقُوا۟ یَقُولُونَ لِإِخۡوَ ٰنِهِمُ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِنۡ أَهۡلِ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبِ لَىِٕنۡ أُخۡرِجۡتُمۡ لَنَخۡرُجَنَّ مَعَكُمۡ وَلَا نُطِیعُ فِیكُمۡ أَحَدًا أَبَدࣰا وَإِن قُوتِلۡتُمۡ لَنَنصُرَنَّكُمۡ وَٱللَّهُ یَشۡهَدُ إِنَّهُمۡ لَكَـٰذِبُونَ ۝١١

Bakhtiari Nejad

Have you not seen those hypocrites who say to their brothers who disbelieve among people of the book: “If you are driven out, we shall leave with you, and we would never obey anyone against you, and we shall help you if you are fought.” God testifies that they are certainly liars.

alam tara ilā alladhīna nāfaqū yaqūlūna li-ikh'wānihimu alladhīna kafarū min ahli l-kitābi la-in ukh'rij'tum lanakhrujanna maʿakum walā nuṭīʿu fīkum aḥadan abadan wa-in qūtil'tum lananṣurannakum wal-lahu yashhadu innahum lakādhibūn

لَىِٕنۡ أُخۡرِجُوا۟ لَا یَخۡرُجُونَ مَعَهُمۡ وَلَىِٕن قُوتِلُوا۟ لَا یَنصُرُونَهُمۡ وَلَىِٕن نَّصَرُوهُمۡ لَیُوَلُّنَّ ٱلۡأَدۡبَـٰرَ ثُمَّ لَا یُنصَرُونَ ۝١٢

Bakhtiari Nejad

If they are driven out, they (the hypocrites) would not leave with them, and if they are fought, they (the hypocrites) will not help them, and if they (want to) help them, they shall turn their backs (and run away), then they (the disbelievers) are not helped.

la-in ukh'rijū lā yakhrujūna maʿahum wala-in qūtilū lā yanṣurūnahum wala-in naṣarūhum layuwallunna l-adbāra thumma lā yunṣarūn

لَأَنتُمۡ أَشَدُّ رَهۡبَةࣰ فِی صُدُورِهِم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِۚ ذَ ٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمۡ قَوۡمࣱ لَّا یَفۡقَهُونَ ۝١٣

Bakhtiari Nejad

You are certainly more frightening than God in their chests/minds. That is because they are people who do not understand.

la-antum ashaddu rahbatan fī ṣudūrihim mina l-lahi dhālika bi-annahum qawmun lā yafqahūn

لَا یُقَـٰتِلُونَكُمۡ جَمِیعًا إِلَّا فِی قُرࣰى مُّحَصَّنَةٍ أَوۡ مِن وَرَاۤءِ جُدُرِۭۚ بَأۡسُهُم بَیۡنَهُمۡ شَدِیدࣱۚ تَحۡسَبُهُمۡ جَمِیعࣰا وَقُلُوبُهُمۡ شَتَّىٰۚ ذَ ٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمۡ قَوۡمࣱ لَّا یَعۡقِلُونَ ۝١٤

Bakhtiari Nejad

They do not fight all of you together unless in well-protected towns or from behind walls. Their hostility among themselves is severe. You think they are all together (and united) while their hearts are divided. That is because they are people who do not understand.

lā yuqātilūnakum jamīʿan illā fī quran muḥaṣṣanatin aw min warāi judurin basuhum baynahum shadīdun taḥsabuhum jamīʿan waqulūbuhum shattā dhālika bi-annahum qawmun lā yaʿqilūn

كَمَثَلِ ٱلَّذِینَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡ قَرِیبࣰاۖ ذَاقُوا۟ وَبَالَ أَمۡرِهِمۡ وَلَهُمۡ عَذَابٌ أَلِیمࣱ ۝١٥

Bakhtiari Nejad

Same as those before them in the near past, they tasted the bad result of their affair, and they have a painful punishment.

kamathali alladhīna min qablihim qarīban dhāqū wabāla amrihim walahum ʿadhābun alīmu

كَمَثَلِ ٱلشَّیۡطَـٰنِ إِذۡ قَالَ لِلۡإِنسَـٰنِ ٱكۡفُرۡ فَلَمَّا كَفَرَ قَالَ إِنِّی بَرِیۤءࣱ مِّنكَ إِنِّیۤ أَخَافُ ٱللَّهَ رَبَّ ٱلۡعَـٰلَمِینَ ۝١٦

Bakhtiari Nejad

Same as Satan when he says to the human being: “Disbelieve.” Then when he disbelieves, he (Satan) says: “I am free of you (and have nothing to do with you), I fear (the punishment of) God, the Lord of humankind.”

kamathali l-shayṭāni idh qāla lil'insāni uk'fur falammā kafara qāla innī barīon minka innī akhāfu l-laha rabba l-ʿālamīn

فَكَانَ عَـٰقِبَتَهُمَاۤ أَنَّهُمَا فِی ٱلنَّارِ خَـٰلِدَیۡنِ فِیهَاۚ وَذَ ٰلِكَ جَزَ ٰۤؤُا۟ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِینَ ۝١٧

Bakhtiari Nejad

The end of both of them is in the fire, remaining in there forever, and that is the punishment of the wrongdoers.

fakāna ʿāqibatahumā annahumā fī l-nāri khālidayni fīhā wadhālika jazāu l-ẓālimīn

3 An Exhortation

یَـٰۤأَیُّهَا ٱلَّذِینَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَلۡتَنظُرۡ نَفۡسࣱ مَّا قَدَّمَتۡ لِغَدࣲۖ وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ خَبِیرُۢ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ ۝١٨

Bakhtiari Nejad

You who believe, be cautious of God, everyone should watch what he sends ahead for tomorrow, and be cautious of God. God is well informed of what you do.

yāayyuhā alladhīna āmanū ittaqū l-laha waltanẓur nafsun mā qaddamat lighadin wa-ittaqū l-laha inna l-laha khabīrun bimā taʿmalūn

وَلَا تَكُونُوا۟ كَٱلَّذِینَ نَسُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ فَأَنسَىٰهُمۡ أَنفُسَهُمۡۚ أُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ هُمُ ٱلۡفَـٰسِقُونَ ۝١٩

Bakhtiari Nejad

And do not be like those who forgot God, so He made them forget themselves (to send ahead some good for themselves). They are the disobedient ones.

walā takūnū ka-alladhīna nasū l-laha fa-ansāhum anfusahum ulāika humu l-fāsiqūn

لَا یَسۡتَوِیۤ أَصۡحَـٰبُ ٱلنَّارِ وَأَصۡحَـٰبُ ٱلۡجَنَّةِۚ أَصۡحَـٰبُ ٱلۡجَنَّةِ هُمُ ٱلۡفَاۤىِٕزُونَ ۝٢٠

Bakhtiari Nejad

Inhabitants of the fire and inhabitants of the garden are not equal. Inhabitants of the garden, they are the triumphant ones.

lā yastawī aṣḥābu l-nāri wa-aṣḥābu l-janati aṣḥābu l-janati humu l-fāizūn

لَوۡ أَنزَلۡنَا هَـٰذَا ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ عَلَىٰ جَبَلࣲ لَّرَأَیۡتَهُۥ خَـٰشِعࣰا مُّتَصَدِّعࣰا مِّنۡ خَشۡیَةِ ٱللَّهِۚ وَتِلۡكَ ٱلۡأَمۡثَـٰلُ نَضۡرِبُهَا لِلنَّاسِ لَعَلَّهُمۡ یَتَفَكَّرُونَ ۝٢١

Bakhtiari Nejad

If We had sent down this Quran to a mountain, you would have certainly seen it humbly breaking up from fear of God. And that is among the examples that We give for people, so that they may think.

law anzalnā hādhā l-qur'āna ʿalā jabalin lara-aytahu khāshiʿan mutaṣaddiʿan min khashyati l-lahi watil'ka l-amthālu naḍribuhā lilnnāsi laʿallahum yatafakkarūn

هُوَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِی لَاۤ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَۖ عَـٰلِمُ ٱلۡغَیۡبِ وَٱلشَّهَـٰدَةِۖ هُوَ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنُ ٱلرَّحِیمُ ۝٢٢

Bakhtiari Nejad

He is God, the One that there is no god except Him, knower of the unseen and the visible, He is the beneficent, the merciful.

huwa l-lahu alladhī lā ilāha illā huwa ʿālimu l-ghaybi wal-shahādati huwa l-raḥmānu l-raḥīm

هُوَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِی لَاۤ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ٱلۡمَلِكُ ٱلۡقُدُّوسُ ٱلسَّلَـٰمُ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُ ٱلۡمُهَیۡمِنُ ٱلۡعَزِیزُ ٱلۡجَبَّارُ ٱلۡمُتَكَبِّرُۚ سُبۡحَـٰنَ ٱللَّهِ عَمَّا یُشۡرِكُونَ ۝٢٣

Bakhtiari Nejad

He is God, the One that there is no god except Him, the ruler, the holy, the (source of) peace, the (source of) security, the guardian, the powerful, the enforcer (of His will), the supreme. God is flawless of what they associate (with Him).

huwa l-lahu alladhī lā ilāha illā huwa l-maliku l-qudūsu l-salāmu l-mu'minu l-muhayminu l-ʿazīzu l-jabāru l-mutakabiru sub'ḥāna l-lahi ʿammā yush'rikūn

هُوَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلۡخَـٰلِقُ ٱلۡبَارِئُ ٱلۡمُصَوِّرُۖ لَهُ ٱلۡأَسۡمَاۤءُ ٱلۡحُسۡنَىٰۚ یُسَبِّحُ لَهُۥ مَا فِی ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۖ وَهُوَ ٱلۡعَزِیزُ ٱلۡحَكِیمُ ۝٢٤

Bakhtiari Nejad

He is God, the creator, the inventor, the designer. All the good attributes (and names) belong to Him. Everything in the skies and on the earth glorifies Him, and He is the powerful, the wise.

huwa l-lahu l-khāliqu l-bāri-u l-muṣawiru lahu l-asmāu l-ḥus'nā yusabbiḥu lahu mā fī l-samāwāti wal-arḍi wahuwa l-ʿazīzu l-ḥakīm
