وَيْلٌ لِّلْمُطَفِّفِينَ

Woe to those who short change

Waylun lilmutaffifeena

الَّذِينَ إِذَا اكْتَالُوا عَلَى النَّاسِ يَسْتَوْفُونَ

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

Those who when they are receiving any measure from the people, they take it in full

Allatheena itha iktaloo AAala alnnasi yastawfoona

وَإِذَا كَالُوهُمْ أَو وَّزَنُوهُمْ يُخْسِرُونَ

And when they are the ones giving measure or weight, they give less than due

Wa-itha kaloohum aw wazanoohum yukhsiroona

أَلَا يَظُنُّ أُولَٰئِكَ أَنَّهُم مَّبْعُوثُونَ

Do these not assume that they will be resurrecte

Ala yathunnu ola-ika annahum mabAAoothoona

لِيَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ

Liyawmin AAatheemin

يَوْمَ يَقُومُ النَّاسُ لِرَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ

The Day mankind will stand before the Lord of the worlds

Yawma yaqoomu alnnasu lirabbi alAAalameena

كَلَّا إِنَّ كِتَابَ الْفُجَّارِ لَفِي سِجِّينٍ

No, the record of the wicked is in Sijjeen

Kalla inna kitaba alfujjari lafee sijjeenin

وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا سِجِّينٌ

And do you know what is Sijjee

Wama adraka ma sijjeenun

كِتَابٌ مَّرْقُومٌ

A numbered record

Kitabun marqoomun

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

Woe on that Day to the deniers

Waylun yawma-ithin lilmukaththibeena

الَّذِينَ يُكَذِّبُونَ بِيَوْمِ الدِّينِ

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

Those who denied the Day of recompense

Allatheena yukaththiboona biyawmi alddeeni

وَمَا يُكَذِّبُ بِهِ إِلَّا كُلُّ مُعْتَدٍ أَثِيمٍ

And none will deny it except every transgressor who knows no bounds

Wama yukaththibu bihi illa kullu muAAtadin atheemin

إِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِ آيَاتُنَا قَالَ أَسَاطِيرُ الْأَوَّلِينَ

When Our verses are recited to him, he says: "Tales of the ancients!"

Itha tutla AAalayhi ayatuna qala asateeru al-awwaleena

كَلَّا بَلْ رَانَ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِم مَّا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ

No, a covering has been placed on their hearts for what they have earned

Kalla bal rana AAala quloobihim ma kanoo yaksiboona

كَلَّا إِنَّهُمْ عَن رَّبِّهِمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ لَّمَحْجُوبُونَ

No, they will be blocked from their Lord on that Day

Kalla innahum AAan rabbihim yawma-ithin lamahjooboona

ثُمَّ إِنَّهُمْ لَصَالُو الْجَحِيمِ

Then they will be entered into the Hell

Thumma innahum lasaloo aljaheemi

ثُمَّ يُقَالُ هَٰذَا الَّذِي كُنتُم بِهِ تُكَذِّبُونَ

Then it will be said: "This is what you used to deny!"

Thumma yuqalu hatha allathee kuntum bihi tukaththiboona

كَلَّا إِنَّ كِتَابَ الْأَبْرَارِ لَفِي عِلِّيِّينَ

No, the record of the pious is in Elliyeen

Kalla inna kitaba al-abrari lafee AAilliyyeena

وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا عِلِّيُّونَ

And do you know what is Elliyee

Wama adraka ma AAilliyyoona

كِتَابٌ مَّرْقُومٌ

Kitabun marqoomun

يَشْهَدُهُ الْمُقَرَّبُونَ

To be witnessed by those brought near

Yashhaduhu almuqarraboona

إِنَّ الْأَبْرَارَ لَفِي نَعِيمٍ

The pious are in Paradise

Inna al-abrara lafee naAAeemin

عَلَى الْأَرَائِكِ يَنظُرُونَ

Upon luxurious furnishings, observing

AAala al-ara-iki yanthuroona

تَعْرِفُ فِي وُجُوهِهِمْ نَضْرَةَ النَّعِيمِ

You know in their faces the look of Paradise

TaAArifu fee wujoohihim nadrata alnnaAAeemi

يُسْقَوْنَ مِن رَّحِيقٍ مَّخْتُومٍ

They are given drink from a pure sealed vial

Yusqawna min raheeqin makhtoomin

خِتَامُهُ مِسْكٌ وَفِي ذَٰلِكَ فَلْيَتَنَافَسِ الْمُتَنَافِسُونَ

Its seal will be of musk, so in that let those who are in competition compete

Khitamuhu miskun wafee thalika falyatanafasi almutanafisoona

وَمِزَاجُهُ مِن تَسْنِيمٍ

And its taste will be special

Wamizajuhu min tasneemin

عَيْنًا يَشْرَبُ بِهَا الْمُقَرَّبُونَ

A spring where those who are brought near will drink

AAaynan yashrabu biha almuqarraboona

إِنَّ الَّذِينَ أَجْرَمُوا كَانُوا مِنَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا يَضْحَكُونَ

Those who were criminals used to laugh at those who had believed

Inna allatheena ajramoo kanoo mina allatheena amanoo yadhakoona

وَإِذَا مَرُّوا بِهِمْ يَتَغَامَزُونَ

And when they passed by them they used to wink to each other

Wa-itha marroo bihim yataghamazoona

وَإِذَا انقَلَبُوا إِلَىٰ أَهْلِهِمُ انقَلَبُوا فَكِهِينَ

And when they returned to their people, they would return jesting

Wa-itha inqalaboo ila ahlihimu inqalaboo fakiheena

وَإِذَا رَأَوْهُمْ قَالُوا إِنَّ هَٰؤُلَاءِ لَضَالُّونَ

And if they see them they Say: "These are indeed misguided!"

Wa-itha raawhum qaloo inna haola-i ladalloona

وَمَا أُرْسِلُوا عَلَيْهِمْ حَافِظِينَ

But they were not sent over them as caretakers

Wama orsiloo AAalayhim hafitheena

فَالْيَوْمَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مِنَ الْكُفَّارِ يَضْحَكُونَ

And today, those who had believed are laughing at the rejecters

Faalyawma allatheena amanoo mina alkuffari yadhakoona

عَلَى الْأَرَائِكِ يَنظُرُونَ

Upon the luxurious furnishings they are observing

AAala al-ara-iki yanthuroona

هَلْ ثُوِّبَ الْكُفَّارُ مَا كَانُوا يَفْعَلُونَ
