أَرۡسِلۡهُ مَعَنَا غَدࣰا یَرۡتَعۡ وَیَلۡعَبۡ وَإِنَّا لَهُۥ لَحَـٰفِظُونَ ۝١٢
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): Send him with us tomorrow that he may eat well and play. And indeed, we will be his guardians
Abdel Haleem: Send him with us tomorrow and he will enjoy himself and play- we will take good care of him.’
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Send him with us to-morrow that he may enjoy himself and play. And lo! we shall take good care of him
The Thunder 13:15 Noun
وَ̅لِ̅لَّ̅هِ̅ ̅یَ̅سۡ̅جُ̅دُ̅ مَن فِی ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ طَوۡعࣰا وَكَرۡهࣰا وَظِلَـٰلُهُم بِٱلۡغُدُوِّ وَٱلۡءَاصَالِ ۝١٥ ۩
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And to Allah prostrates whoever is within the heavens and the earth, willingly or by compulsion, and their shadows [as well] in the mornings and the afternoons
Abdel Haleem: All that are in heaven and earth submit to God alone, willingly or unwillingly, as do their shadows in the mornings and in the evenings
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: And unto Allah falleth prostrate whosoever is in the heavens and the earth, willingly or unwillingly, as do their shadows in the morning and the evening hours
The Cave 18:23 Noun
وَلَا تَقُولَنَّ لِشَا۟یۡءٍ إِنِّی فَاعِلࣱ ذَ ٰلِكَ غَدًا ۝٢٣
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And never say of anything, "Indeed, I will do that tomorrow,"
Abdel Haleem: do not say of anything, ‘I will do that tomorrow,’
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: And say not of anything: Lo! I shall do that tomorrow
The Cave 18:28 Noun
وَٱصۡبِرۡ نَفۡسَكَ مَعَ ٱلَّذِینَ یَدۡعُونَ رَبَّهُم بِٱلۡغَدَوٰةِ وَٱلۡعَشِیِّ یُرِیدُونَ وَجۡهَهُۥۖ وَلَا تَعۡدُ عَیۡنَاكَ عَنۡهُمۡ تُرِیدُ زِینَةَ ٱلۡحَیَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنۡیَاۖ وَلَا تُطِعۡ مَنۡ أَغۡفَلۡنَا قَلۡبَهُۥ عَن ذِكۡرِنَا وَٱتَّبَعَ هَوَىٰهُ وَكَانَ أَمۡرُهُۥ فُرُطࣰا ۝٢٨
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And keep yourself patient [by being] with those who call upon their Lord in the morning and the evening, seeking His countenance. And let not your eyes pass beyond them, desiring adornments of the worldly life, and do not obey one whose heart We have made heedless of Our remembrance and who follows his desire and whose affair is ever [in] neglect
Abdel Haleem: Content yourself with those who pray to their Lord morning and evening, seeking His approval, and do not let your eyes turn away from them out of desire for the attractions of this worldly life: do not yield to those whose hearts We have made heedless of Our Quran, those who follow their own low desires, those whose ways are unbridled
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Restrain thyself along with those who cry unto their Lord at morn and evening, seeking His Countenance; and let not thine eyes overlook them, desiring the pomp of the life of the world; and obey not him whose heart We have made heedless of Our remembrance, who followeth his own lust and whose case hath been abandoned
The Cave 18:62 Noun
فَلَمَّا جَاوَزَا قَالَ لِفَتَىٰهُ ءَاتِنَا غَدَاۤءَنَا لَقَدۡ لَقِینَا مِن سَفَرِنَا هَـٰذَا نَصَبࣰا ۝٦٢
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): So when they had passed beyond it, [Moses] said to his boy, "Bring us our morning meal. We have certainly suffered in this, our journey, [much] fatigue."
Abdel Haleem: They journeyed on, and then Moses said to his servant, ‘Give us our lunch! This journey of ours is very tiring,’
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: And when they had gone further, he said unto his servant: Bring us our breakfast. Verily we have found fatigue in this our journey
The Light 24:36 Noun
فِی بُیُوتٍ أَذِنَ ٱللَّهُ أَن تُرۡفَعَ وَیُذۡكَرَ فِیهَا ٱسۡمُهُۥ یُسَبِّحُ لَهُۥ فِیهَا بِٱلۡغُدُوِّ وَٱلۡءَاصَالِ ۝٣٦
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): [Such niches are] in mosques which Allah has ordered to be raised and that His name be mentioned therein; exalting Him within them in the morning and the evening
Abdel Haleem: shining out in houses of worship. God has ordained that they be raised high and that His name be remembered in them, with men in them celebrating His glory morning and evening
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: (This lamp is found) in houses which Allah hath allowed to be exalted and that His name shall be remembered therein. Therein do offer praise to Him at morn and evening
Luqman, Lukman 31:34 Noun
إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عِندَهُۥ عِلۡمُ ٱلسَّاعَةِ وَیُنَزِّلُ ٱلۡغَیۡثَ وَیَعۡلَمُ مَا فِی ٱلۡأَرۡحَامِۖ وَمَا تَدۡرِی نَفۡسࣱ مَّاذَا تَكۡسِبُ غَدࣰاۖ وَمَا تَدۡرِی نَفۡسُۢ بِأَیِّ أَرۡضࣲ تَمُوتُۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلِیمٌ خَبِیرُۢ ۝٣٤
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): Indeed, Allah [alone] has knowledge of the Hour and sends down the rain and knows what is in the wombs. And no soul perceives what it will earn tomorrow, and no soul perceives in what land it will die. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted
Abdel Haleem: Knowledge of the Hour [of Resurrection] belongs to God; it is He who sends down the relieving rain and He who knows what is hidden in the womb. No soul knows what it will reap tomorrow, and no soul knows in what land it will die; it is God who is all knowing and all aware
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Lo! Allah! With Him is knowledge of the Hour. He sendeth down the rain, and knoweth that which is in the wombs. No soul knoweth what it will earn to-morrow, and no soul knoweth in what land it will die. Lo! Allah is Knower, Aware
Saba, Sheba 34:12 Noun
وَلِسُلَیۡمَـٰنَ ٱلرِّیحَ غُدُوُّهَا شَهۡرࣱ وَرَوَاحُهَا شَهۡرࣱۖ وَأَسَلۡنَا لَهُۥ عَیۡنَ ٱلۡقِطۡرِۖ وَمِنَ ٱلۡجِنِّ مَن یَعۡمَلُ بَیۡنَ یَدَیۡهِ بِإِذۡنِ رَبِّهِۦۖ وَمَن یَزِغۡ مِنۡهُمۡ عَنۡ أَمۡرِنَا نُذِقۡهُ مِنۡ عَذَابِ ٱلسَّعِیرِ ۝١٢
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And to Solomon [We subjected] the wind - its morning [journey was that of] a month - and its afternoon [journey was that of] a month, and We made flow for him a spring of [liquid] copper. And among the jinn were those who worked for him by the permission of his Lord. And whoever deviated among them from Our command - We will make him taste of the punishment of the Blaze
Abdel Haleem: And [We subjected] the wind for Solomon. Its outward journey took a month, and its return journey likewise. We made a fountain of molten brass flow for him, and some of the jinn worked under his control with his Lord’s permission. If one of them deviated from Our command, We let him taste the suffering of the blazing flame
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: And unto Solomon (We gave) the wind, whereof the morning course was a month's journey and the evening course a month's journey, and We caused the fount of copper to gush forth for him, and (We gave him) certain of the jinn who worked before him by permission of his Lord. And such of them as deviated from Our command, them We caused to taste the punishment of flaming Fire
The Forgiver, The Forgiving One 40:46 Noun
ٱلنَّارُ یُعۡرَضُونَ عَلَیۡهَا غُدُوࣰّا وَعَشِیࣰّاۚ وَیَوۡمَ تَقُومُ ٱلسَّاعَةُ أَدۡخِلُوۤا۟ ءَالَ فِرۡعَوۡنَ أَشَدَّ ٱلۡعَذَابِ ۝٤٦
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): The Fire, they are exposed to it morning and evening. And the Day the Hour appears [it will be said], "Make the people of Pharaoh enter the severest punishment."
Abdel Haleem: they will be brought before the Fire morning and evening. On the Day the Hour comes, it will be said, ‘Throw Pharaoh’s people into the worst torment.’
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: The Fire; they are exposed to it morning and evening; and on the day when the Hour upriseth (it is said): Cause Pharaoh's folk to enter the most awful doom
The Moon 54:26 Noun
سَیَعۡلَمُونَ غَدࣰا مَّنِ ٱلۡكَذَّابُ ٱلۡأَشِرُ ۝٢٦
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): They will know tomorrow who is the insolent liar
Abdel Haleem: ‘Tomorrow they will know who is the insolent liar
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: (Unto their warner it was said): To-morrow they will know who is the rash liar
Exile, Banishment 59:18 Noun
یَـٰۤأَیُّهَا ٱلَّذِینَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَلۡتَنظُرۡ نَفۡسࣱ مَّا قَدَّمَتۡ لِغَدࣲۖ وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ خَبِیرُۢ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ ۝١٨
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): O you who have believed, fear Allah . And let every soul look to what it has put forth for tomorrow - and fear Allah . Indeed, Allah is Acquainted with what you do
Abdel Haleem: You who believe! Be mindful of God, and let every soul consider carefully what it sends ahead for tomorrow; be mindful of God, for God is well aware of everything you do
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: O ye who believe! Observe your duty to Allah. And let every soul look to that which it sendeth on before for the morrow. And observe your duty to Allah. Lo! Allah is Informed of what ye do
Cattle, Livestock 6:52 Noun
وَلَا تَطۡرُدِ ٱلَّذِینَ یَدۡعُونَ رَبَّهُم بِٱلۡغَدَوٰةِ وَٱلۡعَشِیِّ یُرِیدُونَ وَجۡهَهُۥۖ مَا عَلَیۡكَ مِنۡ حِسَابِهِم مِّن شَیۡءࣲ وَمَا مِنۡ حِسَابِكَ عَلَیۡهِم مِّن شَیۡءࣲ فَتَطۡرُدَهُمۡ فَتَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِینَ ۝٥٢
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And do not send away those who call upon their Lord morning and afternoon, seeking His countenance. Not upon you is anything of their account and not upon them is anything of your account. So were you to send them away, you would [then] be of the wrongdoers
Abdel Haleem: Do not drive away those who call upon their Lord morning and evening, seeking nothing but His Face. You are in no way accountable for them, nor they for you; if you drove the believers away, you would become one of the evildoers
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Repel not those who call upon their Lord at morn and evening, seeking His Countenance. Thou art not accountable for them in aught, nor are they accountable for thee in aught, that thou shouldst repel them and be of the wrong-doers
The Heights, The Elevated Places 7:205 Noun
وَٱذۡكُر رَّبَّكَ فِی نَفۡسِكَ تَضَرُّعࣰا وَخِیفَةࣰ وَدُونَ ٱلۡجَهۡرِ مِنَ ٱلۡقَوۡلِ بِٱلۡغُدُوِّ وَٱلۡءَاصَالِ وَلَا تَكُن مِّنَ ٱلۡغَـٰفِلِینَ ۝٢٠٥
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And remember your Lord within yourself in humility and in fear without being apparent in speech - in the mornings and the evenings. And do not be among the heedless
Abdel Haleem: [Prophet], remember your Lord inwardly, in all humility and awe, without raising your voice, in the mornings and in the evenings- do not be one of the heedless
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: And do thou (O Muhammad) remember thy Lord within thyself humbly and with awe, below thy breath, at morn and evening. And be not thou of the neglectful

The Family of Imran, The House of Imran 3:121 Verb
وَإِذۡ غَدَوۡتَ مِنۡ أَهۡلِكَ تُبَوِّئُ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِینَ مَقَـٰعِدَ لِلۡقِتَالِۗ وَٱللَّهُ سَمِیعٌ عَلِیمٌ ۝١٢١
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And [remember] when you, [O Muhammad], left your family in the morning to post the believers at their stations for the battle [of Uhud] - and Allah is Hearing and Knowing
Abdel Haleem: [Prophet], remember when you left your home at dawn to assign battle positions to the believers: God hears and knows everything
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: And when thou settedst forth at daybreak from thy housefolk to assign to the believers their positions for the battle, Allah was Hearer, Knower
The Pen 68:22 Verb
أَنِ ٱغۡدُوا۟ عَلَىٰ حَرۡثِكُمۡ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَـٰرِمِینَ ۝٢٢
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): [Saying], "Go early to your crop if you would cut the fruit."
Abdel Haleem: ‘Go early to your field if you wish to gather all its fruits,’
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Saying: Run unto your field if ye would pluck (the fruit)
The Pen 68:25 Verb
وَغَدَوۡا۟ عَلَىٰ حَرۡدࣲ قَـٰدِرِینَ ۝٢٥
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And they went early in determination, [assuming themselves] able
Abdel Haleem: they left early, bent on their purpose
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: They went betimes, strong in (this) purpose
