إِنَّ عِبَادِی لَیۡسَ لَكَ عَلَیۡهِمۡ سُلۡطَـٰنٌ إِلَّا مَنِ ٱتَّبَعَكَ مِنَ ٱلۡغَاوِینَ ۝٤٢
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): Indeed, My servants - no authority will you have over them, except those who follow you of the deviators
Abdel Haleem: you will have no power over My servants, only over the ones who go astray and follow you
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Lo! as for My slaves, thou hast no power over any of them save such of the froward as follow thee
Mary 19:59 Noun
۞ فَخَلَفَ مِنۢ بَعۡدِهِمۡ خَلۡفٌ أَضَاعُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَٱتَّبَعُوا۟ ٱلشَّهَوَ ٰتِۖ فَسَوۡفَ یَلۡقَوۡنَ غَیًّا ۝٥٩
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): But there came after them successors who neglected prayer and pursued desires; so they are going to meet evil
Abdel Haleem: but there came after them generations who neglected prayer and were driven by their own desires. These will come face to face with their evil
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Now there hath succeeded them a later generation whom have ruined worship and have followed lusts. But they will meet deception
The Poets 26:224 Noun
وَٱلشُّعَرَاۤءُ یَتَّبِعُهُمُ ٱلۡغَاوُۥنَ ۝٢٢٤
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And the poets - [only] the deviators follow them
Abdel Haleem: only those who are lost in error follow the poets
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: As for poets, the erring follow them
The Poets 26:91 Noun
وَبُرِّزَتِ ٱلۡجَحِیمُ لِلۡغَاوِینَ ۝٩١
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And Hellfire will be brought forth for the deviators
Abdel Haleem: and the Fire is placed in full view of the misguided
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: And hell will appear plainly to the erring
The Poets 26:94 Noun
فَكُبۡكِبُوا۟ فِیهَا هُمۡ وَٱلۡغَاوُۥنَ ۝٩٤
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): So they will be overturned into Hellfire, they and the deviator
Abdel Haleem: and then they will all be hurled into Hell, together with those that misled them
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Then will they be hurled therein, they and the seducer
The Story, Stories, The Narrative 28:18 Noun
فَأَصۡبَحَ فِی ٱلۡمَدِینَةِ خَاۤىِٕفࣰا یَتَرَقَّبُ فَإِذَا ٱلَّذِی ٱسۡتَنصَرَهُۥ بِٱلۡأَمۡسِ یَسۡتَصۡرِخُهُۥۚ قَالَ لَهُۥ مُوسَىٰۤ إِنَّكَ لَغَوِیࣱّ مُّبِینࣱ ۝١٨
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And he became inside the city fearful and anticipating [exposure], when suddenly the one who sought his help the previous day cried out to him [once again]. Moses said to him, "Indeed, you are an evident, [persistent] deviator."
Abdel Haleem: Next morning, he was walking in the city, fearful and vigilant, when suddenly the man he had helped the day before cried out to him for help. Moses said, ‘You are clearly a troublemaker.’
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: And morning found him in the city, fearing, vigilant, when behold! he who had appealed to him the day before cried out to him for help. Moses said unto him: Lo! thou art indeed a mere hothead
The Cow 2:256 Noun
لَاۤ إِكۡرَاهَ فِی ٱلدِّینِۖ قَد تَّبَیَّنَ ٱلرُّشۡدُ مِنَ ٱلۡغَیِّۚ فَمَن یَكۡفُرۡ بِٱلطَّـٰغُوتِ وَیُؤۡمِنۢ بِٱللَّهِ فَقَدِ ٱسۡتَمۡسَكَ بِٱلۡعُرۡوَةِ ٱلۡوُثۡقَىٰ لَا ٱنفِصَامَ لَهَاۗ وَٱللَّهُ سَمِیعٌ عَلِیمٌ ۝٢٥٦
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): There shall be no compulsion in [acceptance of] the religion. The right course has become clear from the wrong. So whoever disbelieves in Taghut and believes in Allah has grasped the most trustworthy handhold with no break in it. And Allah is Hearing and Knowing
Abdel Haleem: There is no compulsion in religion: true guidance has become distinct from error, so whoever rejects false gods and believes in God has grasped the firmest hand-hold, one that will never break. God is all hearing and all knowing
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: There is no compulsion in religion. The right direction is henceforth distinct from error. And he who rejecteth false deities and believeth in Allah hath grasped a firm handhold which will never break. Allah is Hearer, Knower
Those Who Set The Ranks, Drawn up in Ranks, The Rangers 37:32 Noun
فَأَغۡوَیۡنَـٰكُمۡ إِنَّا كُنَّا غَـٰوِینَ ۝٣٢
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And we led you to deviation; indeed, we were deviators."
Abdel Haleem: We led you astray as we ourselves were astray.’
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Thus we misled you. Lo! we were (ourselves) astray
The Heights, The Elevated Places 7:146 Noun
سَأَصۡرِفُ عَنۡ ءَایَـٰتِیَ ٱلَّذِینَ یَتَكَبَّرُونَ فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِ بِغَیۡرِ ٱلۡحَقِّ وَإِن یَرَوۡا۟ كُلَّ ءَایَةࣲ لَّا یُؤۡمِنُوا۟ بِهَا وَإِن یَرَوۡا۟ سَبِیلَ ٱلرُّشۡدِ لَا یَتَّخِذُوهُ سَبِیلࣰا وَإِن یَرَوۡا۟ سَبِیلَ ٱلۡغَیِّ یَتَّخِذُوهُ سَبِیلࣰاۚ ذَ ٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمۡ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِءَایَـٰتِنَا وَكَانُوا۟ عَنۡهَا غَـٰفِلِینَ ۝١٤٦
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): I will turn away from My signs those who are arrogant upon the earth without right; and if they should see every sign, they will not believe in it. And if they see the way of consciousness, they will not adopt it as a way; but if they see the way of error, they will adopt it as a way. That is because they have denied Our signs and they were heedless of them
Abdel Haleem: I will keep distracted from My signs those who behave arrogantly on Earth without any right, and who, even if they see every sign, will not believe in them; they will not take the way of right guidance if they see it, but will take the way of error if they see that. This is because they denied Our signs and paid them no heed
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: I shall turn away from My revelations those who magnify themselves wrongfully in the earth, and if they see each token believe it not, and if they see the way of righteousness choose it nor for (their) way, and if they see the way of error choose if for (their) way. That is because they deny Our revelations and are used to disregard them
The Heights, The Elevated Places 7:175 Noun
وَٱتۡلُ عَلَیۡهِمۡ نَبَأَ ٱلَّذِیۤ ءَاتَیۡنَـٰهُ ءَایَـٰتِنَا فَٱنسَلَخَ مِنۡهَا فَأَتۡبَعَهُ ٱلشَّیۡطَـٰنُ فَكَانَ مِنَ ٱلۡغَاوِینَ ۝١٧٥
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And recite to them, [O Muhammad], the news of him to whom we gave [knowledge of] Our signs, but he detached himself from them; so Satan pursued him, and he became of the deviators
Abdel Haleem: [Prophet], tell them the story of the man to whom We gave Our messages: he sloughed them off, so Satan took him as his follower and he went astray
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Recite unto them the tale of him to whom We gave Our revelations, but he sloughed them off, so Satan overtook him and he became of those who lead astray
The Heights, The Elevated Places 7:202 Noun
وَإِخۡوَ ٰنُهُمۡ یَمُدُّونَهُمۡ فِی ٱلۡغَیِّ ثُمَّ لَا یُقۡصِرُونَ ۝٢٠٢
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): But their brothers - the devils increase them in error; then they do not stop short
Abdel Haleem: the followers of devils are led relentlessly into error by them and cannot stop
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Their brethren plunge them further into error and cease not

Hud 11:34 Verb
وَلَا یَنفَعُكُمۡ نُصۡحِیۤ إِنۡ أَرَدتُّ أَنۡ أَنصَحَ لَكُمۡ إِن كَانَ ٱللَّهُ یُرِیدُ أَن یُغۡوِیَكُمۡۚ هُوَ رَبُّكُمۡ وَإِلَیۡهِ تُرۡجَعُونَ ۝٣٤
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And my advice will not benefit you - although I wished to advise you - If Allah should intend to put you in error. He is your Lord, and to Him you will be returned."
Abdel Haleem: My advice will be no use to you if God wishes to leave you to your delusions: He is your Lord and to Him you will be returned.’
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: My counsel will not profit you if I were minded to advise you, if Allah's will is to keep you astray. He is your Lord and unto Him ye will be brought back
The Rock, Stoneland, Rock City 15:39 Verb
قَالَ رَبِّ بِمَاۤ أَغۡوَیۡتَنِی لَأُزَیِّنَنَّ لَهُمۡ فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَلَأُغۡوِیَنَّهُمۡ أَجۡمَعِینَ ۝٣٩
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): [Iblees] said, "My Lord, because You have put me in error, I will surely make [disobedience] attractive to them on earth, and I will mislead them al
Abdel Haleem: Iblis then said to God, ‘Because You have put me in the wrong, I will lure mankind on earth and put them in the wrong
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: He said: My Lord! Because Thou hast sent me astray, I verily shall adorn the path of error for them in the earth, and shall mislead them every one
Ta Ha 20:121 Verb
فَأَكَلَا مِنۡهَا فَبَدَتۡ لَهُمَا سَوۡءَ ٰتُهُمَا وَطَفِقَا یَخۡصِفَانِ عَلَیۡهِمَا مِن وَرَقِ ٱلۡجَنَّةِۚ وَعَصَىٰۤ ءَادَمُ رَبَّهُۥ فَغَوَىٰ ۝١٢١
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And Adam and his wife ate of it, and their private parts became apparent to them, and they began to fasten over themselves from the leaves of Paradise. And Adam disobeyed his Lord and erred
Abdel Haleem: and they both ate from it. They became conscious of their nakedness and began to cover themselves with leaves from the garden. Adam disobeyed his Lord and was led astray
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Then they twain ate thereof, so that their shame became apparent unto them, and they began to hide by heaping on themselves some of the leaves of the Garden. And Adam disobeyed his Lord, so went astray
The Story, Stories, The Narrative 28:63 Verb
قَالَ ٱلَّذِینَ حَقَّ عَلَیۡهِمُ ٱلۡقَوۡلُ رَبَّنَا هَـٰۤؤُلَاۤءِ ٱلَّذِینَ أَغۡوَیۡنَاۤ أَغۡوَیۡنَـٰهُمۡ كَمَا غَوَیۡنَاۖ تَبَرَّأۡنَاۤ إِلَیۡكَۖ مَا كَانُوۤا۟ إِیَّانَا یَعۡبُدُونَ ۝٦٣
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): Those upon whom the word will have come into effect will say, "Our Lord, these are the ones we led to error. We led them to error just as we were in error. We declare our disassociation [from them] to You. They did not used to worship us."
Abdel Haleem: and those [ringleaders] against whom the verdict will be passed will say, ‘Our Lord, these are the ones we caused to deviate. We caused them to deviate as we ourselves deviated, but now we disown them before You: they did not really serve us.’
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Those concerning whom the Word will have come true will say: Our Lord! These are they whom we led astray. We led them astray even as we ourselves were astray. We declare our innocence before Thee: us they never worshipped

The Letter Sad 38:82 Verb
قَالَ فَبِعِزَّتِكَ لَأُغۡوِیَنَّهُمۡ أَجۡمَعِینَ ۝٨٢
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): [Iblees] said, "By your might, I will surely mislead them al
Abdel Haleem: Iblis said, ‘I swear by Your might! I will tempt al
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: He said: Then, by Thy might, I surely will beguile them every one
The Star 53:2 Verb
مَا ضَلَّ صَاحِبُكُمۡ وَمَا غَوَىٰ ۝٢
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): Your companion [Muhammad] has not strayed, nor has he erred
Abdel Haleem: Your companion has not strayed; he is not deluded
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: Your comrade erreth not, nor is deceived
The Heights, The Elevated Places 7:16 Verb
قَالَ فَبِمَاۤ أَغۡوَیۡتَنِی لَأَقۡعُدَنَّ لَهُمۡ صِرَ ٰطَكَ ٱلۡمُسۡتَقِیمَ ۝١٦
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): [Satan] said, "Because You have put me in error, I will surely sit in wait for them on Your straight path
Abdel Haleem: And then Iblis said, ‘Because You have put me in the wrong, I will lie in wait for them all on Your straight path
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall: He said: Now, because Thou hast sent me astray, verily I shall lurk in ambush for them on Thy Right Path
