الۤرۚ كِتَـٰبٌ أُحۡكِمَتۡ ءَایَـٰتُهُۥ ثُمَّ فُصِّلَتۡ مِن لَّدُنۡ حَكِیمٍ خَبِیرٍ ١
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
Alif, Lam, Ra. [This is] a Book whose verses are perfected and then presented in detail from [one who is] Wise and Acquainted
Abdel Haleem:
Alif Lam Ra [This is] a Scripture whose verses are perfected, then set out clearly, from One who is all wise, all aware
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
Alif. Lam. Ra. (This is) a Scripture the revelations whereof are perfected and then expounded. (It cometh) from One Wise, Informed
وَقُل رَّبِّ أَدۡخِلۡنِی مُدۡخَلَ صِدۡقࣲ وَأَخۡرِجۡنِی مُخۡرَجَ صِدۡقࣲ وَٱجۡعَل لِّی مِن لَّدُنكَ سُلۡطَـٰنࣰا نَّصِیرࣰا ٨٠
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
And say, "My Lord, cause me to enter a sound entrance and to exit a sound exit and grant me from Yourself a supporting authority."
Abdel Haleem:
Say, ‘My Lord, make me go in truthfully, and come out truthfully, and grant me supporting authority from You.’
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
And say: My Lord! Cause me to come in with a firm incoming and to go out with a firm outgoing. And give me from Thy presence a sustaining Power
The Cave 18:10
Noun
إِذۡ أَوَى ٱلۡفِتۡیَةُ إِلَى ٱلۡكَهۡفِ فَقَالُوا۟ رَبَّنَاۤ ءَاتِنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ رَحۡمَةࣰ وَهَیِّئۡ لَنَا مِنۡ أَمۡرِنَا رَشَدࣰا ١٠
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
[Mention] when the youths retreated to the cave and said, "Our Lord, grant us from Yourself mercy and prepare for us from our affair right guidance."
Abdel Haleem:
When the young men sought refuge in the cave and said, ‘Our Lord, grant us Your mercy, and find us a good way out of our ordeal,’
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
When the young men fled for refuge to the Cave and said: Our Lord! Give us mercy from Thy presence, and shape for us right conduct in our plight
The Cave 18:2
Noun
قَیِّمࣰا لِّیُنذِرَ بَأۡسࣰا شَدِیدࣰا مِّن لَّدُنۡهُ وَیُبَشِّرَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِینَ ٱلَّذِینَ یَعۡمَلُونَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ أَنَّ لَهُمۡ أَجۡرًا حَسَنࣰا ٢
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
[He has made it] straight, to warn of severe punishment from Him and to give good tidings to the believers who do righteous deeds that they will have a good rewar
Abdel Haleem:
warning of severe punishment from Him, and [giving] glad news to the believers who do good deeds––an excellent rewar
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
(But hath made it) straight, to give warning of stern punishment from Him, and to bring unto the believers who do good works the news that theirs will be a fair reward
The Cave 18:65
Noun
فَوَجَدَا عَبۡدࣰا مِّنۡ عِبَادِنَاۤ ءَاتَیۡنَـٰهُ رَحۡمَةࣰ مِّنۡ عِندِنَا وَعَلَّمۡنَـٰهُ مِن لَّدُنَّا عِلۡمࣰا ٦٥
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
And they found a servant from among Our servants to whom we had given mercy from us and had taught him from Us a [certain] knowledge
Abdel Haleem:
and found one of Our servants- a man to whom We had granted Our mercy and whom We had given knowledge of Our own
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
Then found they one of Our slaves, unto whom We had given mercy from Us, and had taught him knowledge from Our presence
The Cave 18:76
Noun
قَالَ إِن سَأَلۡتُكَ عَن شَیۡءِۭ بَعۡدَهَا فَلَا تُصَـٰحِبۡنِیۖ قَدۡ بَلَغۡتَ مِن لَّدُنِّی عُذۡرࣰا ٧٦
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
[Moses] said, "If I should ask you about anything after this, then do not keep me as a companion. You have obtained from me an excuse."
Abdel Haleem:
Moses said, ‘From now on, if I query anything you do, banish me from your company- you have put up with enough from me.’
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
(Moses) said: If I ask thee after this concerning aught, keep not company with me. Thou hast received an excuse from me
Mary 19:13
Noun
وَحَنَانࣰا مِّن لَّدُنَّا وَزَكَوٰةࣰۖ وَكَانَ تَقِیࣰّا ١٣
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
And affection from Us and purity, and he was fearing of Alla
Abdel Haleem:
tenderness from Us, and purity. He was devout

And compassion from Our presence, and purity; and he was devout
Mary 19:5
Noun
وَإِنِّی خِفۡتُ ٱلۡمَوَ ٰلِیَ مِن وَرَاۤءِی وَكَانَتِ ٱمۡرَأَتِی عَاقِرࣰا فَهَبۡ لِی مِن لَّدُنكَ وَلِیࣰّا ٥
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
And indeed, I fear the successors after me, and my wife has been barren, so give me from Yourself an hei
Abdel Haleem:
I fear [what] my kinsmen [will do] when I am gone, for my wife is barren, so grant me a successor––a gift from You––
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
Lo! I fear my kinsfolk after me, since my wife is barren. Oh, give me from Thy presence a successo
Ta Ha 20:99
Noun
كَذَ ٰلِكَ نَقُصُّ عَلَیۡكَ مِنۡ أَنۢبَاۤءِ مَا قَدۡ سَبَقَۚ وَقَدۡ ءَاتَیۡنَـٰكَ مِن لَّدُنَّا ذِكۡرࣰا ٩٩
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
Thus, [O Muhammad], We relate to you from the news of what has preceded. And We have certainly given you from Us the Qur'an
Abdel Haleem:
In this way We relate to you [Prophet] stories of what happened before. We have given you a Quran from Us

Thus relate We unto thee (Muhammad) some tidings of that which happened of old, and We have given thee from Our presence a reminder
The Prophets 21:17
Noun
لَوۡ أَرَدۡنَاۤ أَن نَّتَّخِذَ لَهۡوࣰا لَّٱتَّخَذۡنَـٰهُ مِن لَّدُنَّاۤ إِن كُنَّا فَـٰعِلِینَ ١٧
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
Had We intended to take a diversion, We could have taken it from [what is] with Us - if [indeed] We were to do so
Abdel Haleem:
If We had wished for a pastime, We could have found it within Us- if We had wished for any such thing
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
If We had wished to find a pastime, We could have found it in Our presence - if We ever did
وَإِنَّكَ لَتُلَقَّى ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ مِن لَّدُنۡ حَكِیمٍ عَلِیمٍ ٦
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
And indeed, [O Muhammad], you receive the Qur'an from one Wise and Knowing
Abdel Haleem:
You [Prophet] receive the Quran from One who is all wise, all knowing
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
Lo! as for thee (Muhammad), thou verily receivest the Qur'an from the presence of One Wise, Aware
وَقَالُوۤا۟ إِن نَّتَّبِعِ ٱلۡهُدَىٰ مَعَكَ نُتَخَطَّفۡ مِنۡ أَرۡضِنَاۤۚ أَوَ لَمۡ نُمَكِّن لَّهُمۡ حَرَمًا ءَامِنࣰا یُجۡبَىٰۤ إِلَیۡهِ ثَمَرَ ٰتُ كُلِّ شَیۡءࣲ رِّزۡقࣰا مِّن لَّدُنَّا وَلَـٰكِنَّ أَكۡثَرَهُمۡ لَا یَعۡلَمُونَ ٥٧
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
And they say, "If we were to follow the guidance with you, we would be swept from our land." Have we not established for them a safe sanctuary to which are brought the fruits of all things as provision from Us? But most of them do not know
Abdel Haleem:
They say, ‘If we were to follow guidance with you [Prophet], we would be swept from our land.’ Have We not established for them a secure sanctuary where every kind of produce is brought, as a provision from Us? But most of them do not comprehend
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
And they say: If we were to follow the Guidance with thee we should be torn out of our land. Have We not established for them a sure sanctuary, whereunto the produce of all things is brought (in trade), a provision from Our presence? But most of them know not
هُنَالِكَ دَعَا زَكَرِیَّا رَبَّهُۥۖ قَالَ رَبِّ هَبۡ لِی مِن لَّدُنكَ ذُرِّیَّةࣰ طَیِّبَةًۖ إِنَّكَ سَمِیعُ ٱلدُّعَاۤءِ ٣٨
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
At that, Zechariah called upon his Lord, saying, "My Lord, grant me from Yourself a good offspring. Indeed, You are the Hearer of supplication."
Abdel Haleem:
There and then Zachariah prayed to his Lord, saying, ‘Lord, from Your grace grant me virtuous offspring: You hear every prayer.’
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
Then Zachariah prayed unto his Lord and said: My Lord! Bestow upon me of Thy bounty goodly offspring. Lo! Thou art the Hearer of Prayer
رَبَّنَا لَا تُزِغۡ قُلُوبَنَا بَعۡدَ إِذۡ هَدَیۡتَنَا وَهَبۡ لَنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ رَحۡمَةًۚ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلۡوَهَّابُ ٨
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
[Who say], "Our Lord, let not our hearts deviate after You have guided us and grant us from Yourself mercy. Indeed, You are the Bestower
Abdel Haleem:
‘Our Lord, do not let our hearts deviate after You have guided us. Grant us Your mercy: You are the Ever Giving
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
Our Lord! Cause not our hearts to stray after Thou hast guided us, and bestow upon us mercy from Thy Presence. Lo! Thou, only Thou, art the Bestower
Women 4:40
Noun
إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا یَظۡلِمُ مِثۡقَالَ ذَرَّةࣲۖ وَإِن تَكُ حَسَنَةࣰ یُضَـٰعِفۡهَا وَیُؤۡتِ مِن لَّدُنۡهُ أَجۡرًا عَظِیمࣰا ٤٠
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
Indeed, Allah does not do injustice, [even] as much as an atom's weight; while if there is a good deed, He multiplies it and gives from Himself a great reward
Abdel Haleem:
He does not wrong anyone by as much as the weight of a speck of dust: He doubles any good deed and gives a tremendous reward of His own
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
Lo! Allah wrongeth not even of the weight of an ant; and if there is a good deed, He will double it and will give (the doer) from His presence an immense reward
Women 4:67
Noun
وَإِذࣰا لَّءَاتَیۡنَـٰهُم مِّن لَّدُنَّاۤ أَجۡرًا عَظِیمࣰا ٦٧
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
And then We would have given them from Us a great reward
Abdel Haleem:
and We would have given them a rich reward of Our ow
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
And then We should bestow upon them from Our presence an immense reward
Women 4:75
Noun
وَمَا لَكُمۡ لَا تُقَـٰتِلُونَ فِی سَبِیلِ ٱللَّهِ وَٱلۡمُسۡتَضۡعَفِینَ مِنَ ٱلرِّجَالِ وَٱلنِّسَاۤءِ وَٱلۡوِلۡدَ ٰنِ ٱلَّذِینَ یَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَاۤ أَخۡرِجۡنَا مِنۡ هَـٰذِهِ ٱلۡقَرۡیَةِ ٱلظَّالِمِ أَهۡلُهَا وَٱجۡعَل لَّنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ وَلِیࣰّا وَٱجۡعَل لَّنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ نَصِیرًا ٧٥
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
And what is [the matter] with you that you fight not in the cause of Allah and [for] the oppressed among men, women, and children who say, "Our Lord, take us out of this city of oppressive people and appoint for us from Yourself a protector and appoint for us from Yourself a helper?"
Abdel Haleem:
Why should you not fight in God’s cause and for those oppressed men, women, and children who cry out, ‘Lord, rescue us from this town whose people are oppressors! By Your grace, give us a protector and give us a helper!’
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
How should ye not fight for the cause of Allah and of the feeble among men and of the women and the children who are crying: Our Lord! Bring us forth from out this town of which the people are oppressors! Oh, give us from thy presence some protecting friend! Oh, give us from Thy presence some defender
