Verse 15:68 in Context

64 وَأَتَیۡنَـٰكَ بِٱلۡحَقِّ وَإِنَّا لَصَـٰدِقُونَ ۝٦٤ wa-ataynāka bil-ḥaqi wa-innā laṣādiqūn we have brought you the Truth. We speak truly 65 فَأَسۡرِ بِأَهۡلِكَ بِقِطۡعࣲ مِّنَ ٱلَّیۡلِ وَٱتَّبِعۡ أَدۡبَـٰرَهُمۡ وَلَا یَلۡتَفِتۡ مِنكُمۡ أَحَدࣱ وَٱمۡضُوا۟ حَیۡثُ تُؤۡمَرُونَ ۝٦٥ fa-asri bi-ahlika biqiṭ'ʿin mina al-layli wa-ittabiʿ adbārahum walā yaltafit minkum aḥadun wa-im'ḍū ḥaythu tu'marūn so leave in the dead of the night with your household, and walk behind them. Let none of you look back. Go where you are commanded.’ 66 وَقَضَیۡنَاۤ إِلَیۡهِ ذَ ٰلِكَ ٱلۡأَمۡرَ أَنَّ دَابِرَ هَـٰۤؤُلَاۤءِ مَقۡطُوعࣱ مُّصۡبِحِینَ ۝٦٦ waqaḍaynā ilayhi dhālika l-amra anna dābira hāulāi maqṭūʿun muṣ'biḥīn We made this decree known to him: the last remnants of those people would be wiped out in the morning 67 وَجَاۤءَ أَهۡلُ ٱلۡمَدِینَةِ یَسۡتَبۡشِرُونَ ۝٦٧ wajāa ahlu l-madīnati yastabshirūn The people of the town came along, revelling
68 قَالَ إِنَّ هَـٰۤؤُلَاۤءِ ضَیۡفِی فَلَا تَفۡضَحُونِ ۝٦٨ qāla inna hāulāi ḍayfī falā tafḍaḥūn and he told them, ‘These are my guests, do not disgrace me
69 وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَلَا تُخۡزُونِ ۝٦٩ wa-ittaqū l-laha walā tukh'zūn Fear God, and do not shame me.’ 70 قَالُوۤا۟ أَوَ لَمۡ نَنۡهَكَ عَنِ ٱلۡعَـٰلَمِینَ ۝٧٠ qālū awalam nanhaka ʿani l-ʿālamīn They answered, ‘Have we not told you not to interfere [between us and] anyone else?’ 71 قَالَ هَـٰۤؤُلَاۤءِ بَنَاتِیۤ إِن كُنتُمۡ فَـٰعِلِینَ ۝٧١ qāla hāulāi banātī in kuntum fāʿilīn He said, ‘My daughters are here, if you must.’ 72 لَعَمۡرُكَ إِنَّهُمۡ لَفِی سَكۡرَتِهِمۡ یَعۡمَهُونَ ۝٧٢ laʿamruka innahum lafī sakratihim yaʿmahūn By your life [Prophet], they wandered on in their wild intoxicatio
