205 وَإِذَا تَوَلَّىٰ سَعَىٰ فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِ لِیُفۡسِدَ فِیهَا وَیُهۡلِكَ ٱلۡحَرۡثَ وَٱلنَّسۡلَۗ وَٱللَّهُ لَا یُحِبُّ ٱلۡفَسَادَ ۝٢٠٥ wa-idhā tawallā saʿā fī l-arḍi liyuf'sida fīhā wayuh'lika l-ḥartha wal-nasla wal-lahu lā yuḥibbu l-fasād When he leaves, he sets out to spread corruption in the land, destroying crops and live-stock- God does not like corruption 206 وَإِذَا قِیلَ لَهُ ٱتَّقِ ٱللَّهَ أَخَذَتۡهُ ٱلۡعِزَّةُ بِٱلۡإِثۡمِۚ فَحَسۡبُهُۥ جَهَنَّمُۖ وَلَبِئۡسَ ٱلۡمِهَادُ ۝٢٠٦ wa-idhā qīla lahu ittaqi l-laha akhadhathu l-ʿizatu bil-ith'mi faḥasbuhu jahannamu walabi'sa l-mihād When he is told, ‘Beware of God,’ his arrogance leads him to sin. Hell is enough for him: a dreadful resting place 207 وَمِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ مَن یَشۡرِی نَفۡسَهُ ٱبۡتِغَاۤءَ مَرۡضَاتِ ٱللَّهِۗ وَٱللَّهُ رَءُوفُۢ بِٱلۡعِبَادِ ۝٢٠٧ wamina l-nāsi man yashrī nafsahu ib'tighāa marḍāti l-lahi wal-lahu raūfun bil-ʿibād But there is also a kind of man who gives his life away to please God, and God is most compassionate to His servants 208 یَـٰۤأَیُّهَا ٱلَّذِینَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱدۡخُلُوا۟ فِی ٱلسِّلۡمِ كَاۤفَّةࣰ وَلَا تَتَّبِعُوا۟ خُطُوَ ٰتِ ٱلشَّیۡطَـٰنِۚ إِنَّهُۥ لَكُمۡ عَدُوࣱّ مُّبِینࣱ ۝٢٠٨ yāayyuhā alladhīna āmanū ud'khulū fī l-sil'mi kāffatan walā tattabiʿū khuṭuwāti l-shayṭāni innahu lakum ʿaduwwun mubīnu You who believe, enter wholeheartedly into submission to God and do not follow in Satan’s footsteps, for he is your sworn enemy
209 فَإِن زَلَلۡتُم مِّنۢ بَعۡدِ مَا جَاۤءَتۡكُمُ ٱلۡبَیِّنَـٰتُ فَٱعۡلَمُوۤا۟ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَزِیزٌ حَكِیمٌ ۝٢٠٩ fa-in zalaltum min baʿdi mā jāatkumu l-bayinātu fa-iʿ'lamū anna l-laha ʿazīzun ḥakīmu If you slip back after clear proof has come to you, then be aware that God is almighty and wise
210 هَلۡ یَنظُرُونَ إِلَّاۤ أَن یَأۡتِیَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ فِی ظُلَلࣲ مِّنَ ٱلۡغَمَامِ وَٱلۡمَلَـٰۤىِٕكَةُ وَقُضِیَ ٱلۡأَمۡرُۚ وَإِلَى ٱللَّهِ تُرۡجَعُ ٱلۡأُمُورُ ۝٢١٠ hal yanẓurūna illā an yatiyahumu l-lahu fī ẓulalin mina l-ghamāmi wal-malāikatu waquḍiya l-amru wa-ilā l-lahi tur'jaʿu l-umūr Are these people waiting for God to come to them in the shadows of the clouds, together with the angels? But the matter would already have been decided by then: all matters are brought back to God 211 سَلۡ بَنِیۤ إِسۡرَ ٰۤءِیلَ كَمۡ ءَاتَیۡنَـٰهُم مِّنۡ ءَایَةِۭ بَیِّنَةࣲۗ وَمَن یُبَدِّلۡ نِعۡمَةَ ٱللَّهِ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ مَا جَاۤءَتۡهُ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ شَدِیدُ ٱلۡعِقَابِ ۝٢١١ sal banī is'rāīla kam ātaynāhum min āyatin bayyinatin waman yubaddil niʿ'mata l-lahi min baʿdi mā jāathu fa-inna l-laha shadīdu l-ʿiqāb [Prophet], ask the Children of Israel how many clear signs We brought them. If anyone alters God’s blessings after he has received them, God is stern in punishment 212 زُیِّنَ لِلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ ٱلۡحَیَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنۡیَا وَیَسۡخَرُونَ مِنَ ٱلَّذِینَ ءَامَنُوا۟ۘ وَٱلَّذِینَ ٱتَّقَوۡا۟ فَوۡقَهُمۡ یَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِیَـٰمَةِۗ وَٱللَّهُ یَرۡزُقُ مَن یَشَاۤءُ بِغَیۡرِ حِسَابࣲ ۝٢١٢ zuyyina lilladhīna kafarū l-ḥayatu l-dun'yā wayaskharūna mina alladhīna āmanū wa-alladhīna ittaqaw fawqahum yawma l-qiyāmati wal-lahu yarzuqu man yashāu bighayri ḥisābi The life of this world is made to seem glamorous to the disbelievers, and they laugh at those who believe. But those who are mindful of God will be above them on the Day of Resurrection: God provides immeasurably for whoever He pleases 213 كَانَ ٱلنَّاسُ أُمَّةࣰ وَ ٰحِدَةࣰ فَبَعَثَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلنَّبِیِّـۧنَ مُبَشِّرِینَ وَمُنذِرِینَ وَأَنزَلَ مَعَهُمُ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبَ بِٱلۡحَقِّ لِیَحۡكُمَ بَیۡنَ ٱلنَّاسِ فِیمَا ٱخۡتَلَفُوا۟ فِیهِۚ وَمَا ٱخۡتَلَفَ فِیهِ إِلَّا ٱلَّذِینَ أُوتُوهُ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ مَا جَاۤءَتۡهُمُ ٱلۡبَیِّنَـٰتُ بَغۡیَۢا بَیۡنَهُمۡۖ فَهَدَى ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِینَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لِمَا ٱخۡتَلَفُوا۟ فِیهِ مِنَ ٱلۡحَقِّ بِإِذۡنِهِۦۗ وَٱللَّهُ یَهۡدِی مَن یَشَاۤءُ إِلَىٰ صِرَ ٰطࣲ مُّسۡتَقِیمٍ ۝٢١٣ kāna l-nāsu ummatan wāḥidatan fabaʿatha l-lahu l-nabiyīna mubashirīna wamundhirīna wa-anzala maʿahumu l-kitāba bil-ḥaqi liyaḥkuma bayna l-nāsi fīmā ikh'talafū fīhi wamā ikh'talafa fīhi illā alladhīna ūtūhu min baʿdi mā jāathumu l-bayinātu baghyan baynahum fahadā l-lahu alladhīna āmanū limā ikh'talafū fīhi mina l-ḥaqi bi-idh'nihi wal-lahu yahdī man yashāu ilā ṣirāṭin mus'taqīmi Mankind was a single community, then God sent prophets to bring good news and warning, and with them He sent the Scripture with the Truth, to judge between people in their disagreements. It was only those to whom it was given who disagreed about it after clear signs had come to them, because of rivalry between them. So by His leave God guided the believers to the truth they had differed about: God guides whoever He will to a straight path
