Verse 44:50 in Context

46 كَغَلۡیِ ٱلۡحَمِیمِ ۝٤٦ kaghalyi l-ḥamīm like seething water 47 خُذُوهُ فَٱعۡتِلُوهُ إِلَىٰ سَوَاۤءِ ٱلۡجَحِیمِ ۝٤٧ khudhūhu fa-iʿ'tilūhu ilā sawāi l-jaḥīm ‘Take him! Thrust him into the depths of Hell 48 ثُمَّ صُبُّوا۟ فَوۡقَ رَأۡسِهِۦ مِنۡ عَذَابِ ٱلۡحَمِیمِ ۝٤٨ thumma ṣubbū fawqa rasihi min ʿadhābi l-ḥamīm Pour scalding water over his head as punishment!’ 49 ذُقۡ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلۡعَزِیزُ ٱلۡكَرِیمُ ۝٤٩ dhuq innaka anta l-ʿazīzu l-karīm ‘Taste this, you powerful, respected man
50 إِنَّ هَـٰذَا مَا كُنتُم بِهِۦ تَمۡتَرُونَ ۝٥٠ inna hādhā mā kuntum bihi tamtarūn This is what you doubted.’
51 إِنَّ ٱلۡمُتَّقِینَ فِی مَقَامٍ أَمِینࣲ ۝٥١ inna l-mutaqīna fī maqāmin amīni But those mindful of God will be in a safe plac 52 فِی جَنَّـٰتࣲ وَعُیُونࣲ ۝٥٢ fī jannātin waʿuyūni amid Gardens and springs 53 یَلۡبَسُونَ مِن سُندُسࣲ وَإِسۡتَبۡرَقࣲ مُّتَقَـٰبِلِینَ ۝٥٣ yalbasūna min sundusin wa-is'tabraqin mutaqābilīn clothed in silk and fine brocade, facing one another 54 كَذَ ٰلِكَ وَزَوَّجۡنَـٰهُم بِحُورٍ عِینࣲ ۝٥٤ kadhālika wazawwajnāhum biḥūrin ʿīni so it will be. We shall wed them to maidens with large, dark eyes
