Verse 44:53 in Context

49 ذُقۡ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلۡعَزِیزُ ٱلۡكَرِیمُ ۝٤٩ dhuq innaka anta l-ʿazīzu l-karīm ‘Taste this, you powerful, respected man 50 إِنَّ هَـٰذَا مَا كُنتُم بِهِۦ تَمۡتَرُونَ ۝٥٠ inna hādhā mā kuntum bihi tamtarūn This is what you doubted.’ 51 إِنَّ ٱلۡمُتَّقِینَ فِی مَقَامٍ أَمِینࣲ ۝٥١ inna l-mutaqīna fī maqāmin amīni But those mindful of God will be in a safe plac 52 فِی جَنَّـٰتࣲ وَعُیُونࣲ ۝٥٢ fī jannātin waʿuyūni amid Gardens and springs
53 یَلۡبَسُونَ مِن سُندُسࣲ وَإِسۡتَبۡرَقࣲ مُّتَقَـٰبِلِینَ ۝٥٣ yalbasūna min sundusin wa-is'tabraqin mutaqābilīn clothed in silk and fine brocade, facing one another
54 كَذَ ٰلِكَ وَزَوَّجۡنَـٰهُم بِحُورٍ عِینࣲ ۝٥٤ kadhālika wazawwajnāhum biḥūrin ʿīni so it will be. We shall wed them to maidens with large, dark eyes 55 یَدۡعُونَ فِیهَا بِكُلِّ فَـٰكِهَةٍ ءَامِنِینَ ۝٥٥ yadʿūna fīhā bikulli fākihatin āminīn Secure and contented, they will call for every kind of fruit 56 لَا یَذُوقُونَ فِیهَا ٱلۡمَوۡتَ إِلَّا ٱلۡمَوۡتَةَ ٱلۡأُولَىٰۖ وَوَقَىٰهُمۡ عَذَابَ ٱلۡجَحِیمِ ۝٥٦ lā yadhūqūna fīhā l-mawta illā l-mawtata l-ūlā wawaqāhum ʿadhāba l-jaḥīm After the one death they will taste death no more. God will guard them from the torment of Hell 57 فَضۡلࣰا مِّن رَّبِّكَۚ ذَ ٰلِكَ هُوَ ٱلۡفَوۡزُ ٱلۡعَظِیمُ ۝٥٧ faḍlan min rabbika dhālika huwa l-fawzu l-ʿaẓīm a bounty from your Lord. That is the supreme triumph
