24 ۞ وَیَطُوفُ عَلَیۡهِمۡ غِلۡمَانࣱ لَّهُمۡ كَأَنَّهُمۡ لُؤۡلُؤࣱ مَّكۡنُونࣱ ۝٢٤ wayaṭūfu ʿalayhim ghil'mānun lahum ka-annahum lu'lu-on maknūnu Devoted youths like hidden pearls wait on them 25 وَأَقۡبَلَ بَعۡضُهُمۡ عَلَىٰ بَعۡضࣲ یَتَسَاۤءَلُونَ ۝٢٥ wa-aqbala baʿḍuhum ʿalā baʿḍin yatasāalūn They turn to one another and say 26 قَالُوۤا۟ إِنَّا كُنَّا قَبۡلُ فِیۤ أَهۡلِنَا مُشۡفِقِینَ ۝٢٦ qālū innā kunnā qablu fī ahlinā mush'fiqīn ‘When we were still with our families [on earth] we used to live in fear–– 27 فَمَنَّ ٱللَّهُ عَلَیۡنَا وَوَقَىٰنَا عَذَابَ ٱلسَّمُومِ ۝٢٧ famanna l-lahu ʿalaynā wawaqānā ʿadhāba l-samūm God has been gracious to us and saved us from the torment of intense heat
28 إِنَّا كُنَّا مِن قَبۡلُ نَدۡعُوهُۖ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلۡبَرُّ ٱلرَّحِیمُ ۝٢٨ innā kunnā min qablu nadʿūhu innahu huwa l-baru l-raḥīm We used to pray to Him: He is the Good, the Merciful One.’
29 فَذَكِّرۡ فَمَاۤ أَنتَ بِنِعۡمَتِ رَبِّكَ بِكَاهِنࣲ وَلَا مَجۡنُونٍ ۝٢٩ fadhakkir famā anta biniʿ'mati rabbika bikāhinin walā majnūni So [Prophet] remind [people]. By the grace of your Lord [Prophet], you are neither oracle nor madman 30 أَمۡ یَقُولُونَ شَاعِرࣱ نَّتَرَبَّصُ بِهِۦ رَیۡبَ ٱلۡمَنُونِ ۝٣٠ am yaqūlūna shāʿirun natarabbaṣu bihi rayba l-manūn If they say, ‘He is only a poet: we shall await his fate,’ 31 قُلۡ تَرَبَّصُوا۟ فَإِنِّی مَعَكُم مِّنَ ٱلۡمُتَرَبِّصِینَ ۝٣١ qul tarabbaṣū fa-innī maʿakum mina l-mutarabiṣīn say, ‘Wait if you wish; I too am waiting’ 32 أَمۡ تَأۡمُرُهُمۡ أَحۡلَـٰمُهُم بِهَـٰذَاۤۚ أَمۡ هُمۡ قَوۡمࣱ طَاغُونَ ۝٣٢ am tamuruhum aḥlāmuhum bihādhā am hum qawmun ṭāghūn does their reason really tell them to do this, or are they simply insolent people
