وَإِذَاۤ أَرَدۡنَاۤ أَن نُّهۡلِكَ قَرۡیَةً أَمَرۡنَا مُتۡرَفِیهَا فَفَسَقُوا۟ فِیهَا فَحَقَّ عَلَیۡهَا ٱلۡقَوۡلُ فَدَمَّرۡنَـٰهَا تَدۡمِیرࣰا ١٦
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
And when We intend to destroy a city, We command its affluent but they defiantly disobey therein; so the word comes into effect upon it, and We destroy it with [complete] destruction
The Believers 23:64

حَتَّىٰۤ إِذَاۤ أَخَذۡنَا مُتۡرَفِیهِم بِٱلۡعَذَابِ إِذَا هُمۡ یَجۡءَرُونَ ٦٤
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
Until when We seize their affluent ones with punishment, at once they are crying [to Allah ] for help
Saba, Sheba 34:34

وَمَاۤ أَرۡسَلۡنَا فِی قَرۡیَةࣲ مِّن نَّذِیرٍ إِلَّا قَالَ مُتۡرَفُوهَاۤ إِنَّا بِمَاۤ أُرۡسِلۡتُم بِهِۦ كَـٰفِرُونَ ٣٤
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
And We did not send into a city any warner except that its affluent said, "Indeed we, in that with which you were sent, are disbelievers."
وَكَذَ ٰلِكَ مَاۤ أَرۡسَلۡنَا مِن قَبۡلِكَ فِی قَرۡیَةࣲ مِّن نَّذِیرٍ إِلَّا قَالَ مُتۡرَفُوهَاۤ إِنَّا وَجَدۡنَاۤ ءَابَاۤءَنَا عَلَىٰۤ أُمَّةࣲ وَإِنَّا عَلَىٰۤ ءَاثَـٰرِهِم مُّقۡتَدُونَ ٢٣
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
And similarly, We did not send before you any warner into a city except that its affluent said, "Indeed, we found our fathers upon a religion, and we are, in their footsteps, following."
إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُوا۟ قَبۡلَ ذَ ٰلِكَ مُتۡرَفِینَ ٤٥
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
Indeed they were, before that, indulging in affluence
