وَلَقَدۡ صَدَقَكُمُ ٱللَّهُ وَعۡدَهُۥۤ إِذۡ تَحُسُّونَهُم بِإِذۡنِهِۦۖ حَتَّىٰۤ إِذَا فَشِلۡتُمۡ وَتَنَـٰزَعۡتُمۡ فِی ٱلۡأَمۡرِ وَعَصَیۡتُم مِّنۢ بَعۡدِ مَاۤ أَرَىٰكُم مَّا تُحِبُّونَۚ مِنكُم مَّن یُرِیدُ ٱلدُّنۡیَا وَمِنكُم مَّن یُرِیدُ ٱلۡءَاخِرَةَۚ ثُمَّ صَرَفَكُمۡ عَنۡهُمۡ لِیَبۡتَلِیَكُمۡۖ وَلَقَدۡ عَفَا عَنكُمۡۗ وَٱللَّهُ ذُو فَضۡلٍ عَلَى ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِینَ ۝١٥٢
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And Allah had certainly fulfilled His promise to you when you were killing the enemy by His permission until [the time] when you lost courage and fell to disputing about the order [given by the Prophet] and disobeyed after He had shown you that which you love. Among you are some who desire this world, and among you are some who desire the Hereafter. Then he turned you back from them [defeated] that He might test you. And He has already forgiven you, and Allah is the possessor of bounty for the believers
The Spoils of War 8:43 Verb
إِذۡ یُرِیكَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ فِی مَنَامِكَ قَلِیلࣰاۖ وَلَوۡ أَرَىٰكَهُمۡ كَثِیرࣰا لَّفَشِلۡتُمۡ وَلَتَنَـٰزَعۡتُمۡ فِی ٱلۡأَمۡرِ وَلَـٰكِنَّ ٱللَّهَ سَلَّمَۚ إِنَّهُۥ عَلِیمُۢ بِذَاتِ ٱلصُّدُورِ ۝٤٣
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): [Remember, O Muhammad], when Allah showed them to you in your dream as few; and if He had shown them to you as many, you [believers] would have lost courage and would have disputed in the matter [of whether to fight], but Allah saved [you from that]. Indeed, He is Knowing of that within the breasts
The Spoils of War 8:46 Verb
وَأَطِیعُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ وَلَا تَنَـٰزَعُوا۟ فَتَفۡشَلُوا۟ وَتَذۡهَبَ رِیحُكُمۡۖ وَٱصۡبِرُوۤا۟ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ مَعَ ٱلصَّـٰبِرِینَ ۝٤٦
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International): And obey Allah and His Messenger, and do not dispute and [thus] lose courage and [then] your strength would depart; and be patient. Indeed, Allah is with the patient
