أَبَشَرًا abasharan
Is (it) a human being Noun
مِّنَّا minnā

وَٰحِدًا wāḥidan

نَّتَّبِعُهُۥٓ nattabiʿuhu
(that) we should follow him V
إِنَّآ innā
Indeed, we Prep
إِذًا idhan
then Prep
لَّفِى lafī
(will be) surely in Prep
ضَلَٰلٍ ḍalālin
error Noun
وَسُعُرٍ wasuʿurin
and madness Noun

they said, ‘What? A man? Why should we follow a lone man from amongst ourselves? That would be misguided; quite insane

فَقَالُوۤا۟ أَبَشَرࣰا مِّنَّا وَ ٰحِدࣰا نَّتَّبِعُهُۥۤ إِنَّاۤ إِذࣰا لَّفِی ضَلَـٰلࣲ وَسُعُرٍ ۝٢٤

faqālū abasharan minnā wāḥidan nattabiʿuhu innā idhan lafī ḍalālin wasuʿuri
