لَمَسْنَا lamasnā
sought to touch V
ٱلسَّمَآءَ l-samāa
the heaven Noun
فَوَجَدْنَٰهَا fawajadnāhā
but we found it V
مُلِئَتْ muli-at
filled (with) V
حَرَسًا ḥarasan
guards Noun
شَدِيدًا shadīdan
severe Noun
وَشُهُبًا washuhuban
and flaming fires Noun

We tried to reach heaven, but discovered it to be full of stern guards and shooting stars––

وَأَنَّا لَمَسۡنَا ٱلسَّمَاۤءَ فَوَجَدۡنَـٰهَا مُلِئَتۡ حَرَسࣰا شَدِیدࣰا وَشُهُبࣰا ۝٨

wa-annā lamasnā l-samāa fawajadnāhā muli-at ḥarasan shadīdan washuhuba
