188 قَالَ رَبِّیۤ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ ۝١٨٨ qāla rabbī aʿlamu bimā taʿmalūn He said, ‘My Lord knows best what you do.’ 189 فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَخَذَهُمۡ عَذَابُ یَوۡمِ ٱلظُّلَّةِۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ عَذَابَ یَوۡمٍ عَظِیمٍ ۝١٨٩ fakadhabūhu fa-akhadhahum ʿadhābu yawmi l-ẓulati innahu kāna ʿadhāba yawmin ʿaẓīmi They called him a liar, and so the torment of the Day of Shadow came upon them- it was the torment of a terrible day 190 إِنَّ فِی ذَ ٰلِكَ لَءَایَةࣰۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكۡثَرُهُم مُّؤۡمِنِینَ ۝١٩٠ inna fī dhālika laāyatan wamā kāna aktharuhum mu'minīn There truly is a sign in this, though most of them will not believe 191 وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلۡعَزِیزُ ٱلرَّحِیمُ ۝١٩١ wa-inna rabbaka lahuwa l-ʿazīzu l-raḥīm your Lord alone is the Almighty, the Merciful
192 وَإِنَّهُۥ لَتَنزِیلُ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَـٰلَمِینَ ۝١٩٢ wa-innahu latanzīlu rabbi l-ʿālamīn Truly, this Quran has been sent down by the Lord of the Worlds
193 نَزَلَ بِهِ ٱلرُّوحُ ٱلۡأَمِینُ ۝١٩٣ nazala bihi l-rūḥu l-amīn the Trustworthy Spirit brought it dow 194 عَلَىٰ قَلۡبِكَ لِتَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُنذِرِینَ ۝١٩٤ bilisānin ʿarabiyyin mubīni to your heart [Prophet], so that you could bring warnin 195 بِلِسَانٍ عَرَبِیࣲّ مُّبِینࣲ ۝١٩٥ Bilisanin AAarabiyyin mubeenin in a clear Arabic tongue 196 وَإِنَّهُۥ لَفِی زُبُرِ ٱلۡأَوَّلِینَ ۝١٩٦ wa-innahu lafī zuburi l-awalīn This was foretold in the scriptures of earlier religions
